We’ve been nominated for the Top Blog award by Seanna!! Exciting!
Our Being Bookish LinkUP is officially running! The link will be open for the whole month. You can link-up an old book review or even a new book review — options are open. So LinkUP with us here. And if you want to read a bit more about it, jump over to our Beamish LinkUP page.
So now for the questions we have to answer…
It’s a top-five style of award. And who doesn’t like the number five?
mime: Oh, that’s incredibly, incredibly hard. Reading. Writing. (But not arithmetic.) Listening to music. Discussing books with Cait. And painting or acting, depending on what mood I’m in.
cait: Writing, walking, playing piano, my ipod (stuffed with music, of course!), and laughing at (or with, if I’m being nice) mime.
mime: Spiders. Snakes. Goannas. Large dogs. (I really get creeped out by those big dogs with that slow, menacing tail wag, and the deep, throaty growl…) and the last one… being alone too long starts to scare me. Usually when I begin to argue with myself.
cait: Wasps. Spiders. Evil eyed birds. mime jumping out from behind something (she thinks it’s funny. weirdo). And performing at concerts.
mime: Finish a book. Finish a decent manuscript. Publish the book. Become a really awesome flute player. Then… miracle. I’d love to be a half-good piano player.
cait: finish my fantasy series! Eat fried icecream. Go to Sydney. Play the Pirates of the Caribbean song without killing my fingers. Have 109 people follow our blog!
mime: This is incredibly hard for me. I am not an animal person. Cats are cute. Kittens, actually. Horses are cool. But… meh. Animals? No. I’m sorry.
cait: Sheesh, mime. You’re strange. Animals are great (especially if you’re writing them in books). Okay, so mine are — dogs, horses, tiny lions (because they somehow wormed their way into my writing), monkeys that look like this, and a baby fox.
mime: Chocolate. Pasta. Chocolate. Pizza. Chocolate…
cait: mime has an addiction I think. Mine are — icecream, rice pudding, grapes, lasagna, and…chocolate.
mime: Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay (Suzanne Collins), The Diamond of Drury Lane (Julia Golding), Out of Sight, Out of Time (Ally Carter). These aren’t my only favourite books, by any means. I’m just having a bit of a mental blank. So that’s all I could think of.
cait: Gone (by Micahel Grant); The Hunger Games Trilogy (By Suznne Collins); The Scorpio Races (by Maggie Stiefvater); The Bronze Bow (by Elizabeth Speare); The Shamer’s Chronicles (by Lene Kaaberbol)
mime: Megamind, Sherlock Holmes, Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, Brave, How to Train Your Dragon (And I’d love to put Tangled in there, too, but I ran out.)
cait: The Avengers Series; Sherlock Holmes; Batman Begins; Brave; Pirates of the Caribbean series
mime: Italy (Rome), England (British Museum), Scotland (Castles), America (Disneyland), and… Narnia.
cait: the beach; the snow; Europe or Asia; Hawaii (beach!); and Outback Australia
mime: Ah…. I don’t know.
cait: You could just say cait five times, mime. But, yeah, I don’t like “rating” people. My family! My friends (near and far)! Other bloggers!
mime: Mango. Grapes. Lemons. Plums. Apricots.
cait: grapes. cherries. apples. strawberries. watermelon.
mime: Roses. I’m not extremely familiar with flowers, so I’ll leave it at that.
cait: frangipanis; roses; hibiscus; paper flowers; and those pretty yellow flowers that are called weeds but look okay to me.
mime: Professional flautist, actress, author, ah… I don’t know. A teacher maybe? If patience grew on trees. (I’d be the dragon teacher: Work, student, work!)
cait: neurosurgeon; author; travelling writer; professional sky-diver; or archaeological treasure hunter.
mime: Kezia, Elizabeth, Scarlett, Leslie, and Piper.
cait: Cris; Gill; Indiana; Pippi; Jean
mime: Charlie, Lewis, Hananiah, Azeriah, and Misha-el. (Who like Shadrack, Meshak and Abendego, anyway? Go Hebrew names!)
cait: Milo; Sam (or Samwise!); Jess; Tell; Inigo;
mime: Um, I don’t really know…
cait: Writing the next international bestseller; diving on the Great Barrier Reef; learning to fly a plane; eating chocolate on top of the Eiffel Tower; or collecting fairy dust in hopes of one-day flying PeterPan style.
So thanks again, Seanna!! We’re utterly honoured!
I know we’re supposed to nominate 5 people, but if anyone wants to do this tag, just go ahead and do it! It’s quite fun! Answer the sets of questions, and don’t forget to drop us a link to your post so we can come over and see what you’ve written.
