Chocolate. The deletcable melting substance that makes the world go round.
Perhaps no invention is truly greater than that of chocolate.
I’ve heard a lot of great quotes about chocolate. Mostly from fridge magnents and such at the post office. For example;
-Seven days without chocolate makes one weak-
-A balanced diet is a chocolate in each had-
And stuff like that. I definitely agree with the second one.
I could research chocolate and give a description of how it was made when it was first invented and all that sort of information, but that would take longer than 5 minutes, so I’ll give a brief account of a time when we tried to make our own chocolate.
It was awful.
It was made on coconut oil and the sugary stuff slugged in the bottom of the Thermomix, so of course when we poured it out, the center of the pan got a lovely thick layer of sweetness, but the edges, where we started cutting from, tasted like coconut oil and cocoa powder, which was precisely what it was.
I think we put it all in a batch of chocolate chip biscuits and ate a couple of the sweeter pieces. Of course, you never could tell which parts were sweet, so you bite a piece expecting sweetness, and you almost choke.
Never mind. Why make it when the shops will do it for you? After all, what can be better than a slab of brown, sweet, goopey chocolate to eat?
(I’m really chocolate-craving now!)
