It’s March. Ready for it?
The Hunger Games movie.
Really, honestly, I don’t usually have much to do with pre-movie hypes. Usually I don’t even know what they are until waay, way after they’ve come out. Unless they’re kids movies. Like Tangled. Oh boy, seeing Tangled was worth it…even if I did get momentarily scared because someone told me there was singing and it was a musical (make a mental note of that: cait is usually not a musical-watcher.)
But the Hunger Games?
The books caught my attention and held it. Even after reading them the second time, I didn’t lose that enthusiasm for them. In fact, it increased it. I actually thought I was building the book up to be great in my mind and it would actually be…well… plainer than I remembered it. But it wasn’t. I hated the end just as much. Well, loved-hated, because of Cato and then the berries and of course the afterwards and then the crushing last scene…
No spoilers. Sorry. Close that subject.
But the movie? I can’t wait for it—as well as being nervous and worried all at once. It could be a flop. They could destroy what the books so carefully built up. That’s something all movies made from books have to face. But I have a good feeling about the Hunger Games movie. Just because the author has had a hand in it. And if the author is working on it, then we know it has to turn out semi-right, doesn’t it?
So March is here and the day is coming when we’ll all find out just how great the Movie actually is. Or how bad. Optimist or pessimist? Tell me, what are you thinking about the movie? Are you being cautiously optimistic, down-right pessimistic? Or are you sitting in the middle saying, “It’s just a movie. It’ll be…okay probably.”
I don’t know what I think. But I hope it will be okay.
