First a small explanation on Masterchef Australia. It’s a cooking show. Lots of people cooking under timelimits for the title of Australia’s newest Masterchef. Why do I watch it? It’s fun. It’s fun to watch people cook and salivate over their dishes. (And afterwards complain about the presentation of your next meal….)
It’s a bit stressing… I always get a bit involved in competitions…
And we’ve also figured something out. The Hunger Games was based on Masterchef. Every element (other than the cooking) reflects the arena.
For instance: the other elimination, the girl up was crying all over the place. Now you have to pity her. She was under a lot of pressure. But then the fellow she was versing started saying that he’d step out so she could go through! Then someone else was volunteering to take her place…. Does that not scream Hunger Games? (They weren’t allowed, by the way. She had to cook.)
Especially when she lost (she was coming down anyway) and she starts telling the first fellow he has to win for both of them. What have you been reading, girl, because that’s not an original line anymore.
All these people are fighting it out. Stressing, making alliences through teems (which are smashed the next day) and the whole thing echoes Hunger Games.
Though it makes you wonder…. do their shoes have any effect?
