The Dagger can turn back time. But only the holder is aware of it.
That means, whoever owns the dagger can control the past.
And the future.
And their destiny.
Dastan, once an orphaned street urchin, now a Prince of Persia, picks up the dagger. He doesn’t know what it is. He doesn’t know who wants it. Until he unlocks its secret and turns back time.
Then the real battle begins.
In My Opinion…
Genre: Action Fantasy
My Rating: 3 1/2 Stars
It’s an action-packed, fast-moving drama, full of computer graphics, disjointed dialogue, and everything just a little bigger than life.
As a movie, it was entertaining to watch, those computer graphics throwing in flare after flare of the impossible. The story line left little to be desired — full of mystery, danger, and honour. But the acting didn’t match up with the dialogue. There seemed a lot of gaps. And the soundtrack seemed remarkably familiar in places (could it be The Chronicles of Narnia???)
Putting that aside, the action never stops. If you walk away for two minutes, you’ll miss some incredible act or even an important move in the story-line. It all happens quick. If something doesn’t happen for two seconds, you’ll get a shock.
It’s a movie well worth the watch, just lacking in emotional drama to bring it up to stand with the all-time classics and favourites.
