I’m going to tell you a secret. Listen, listen as I quietly admit…I have not being requesting, borrowing, or buying very many books. I’m actually catching up on my TBR! Incredible. I really miss borrowing five or twenty-nine books from the library though.
I FINALLY DID IT. I BOUGHT TFIOS. This might come as a surprise, but I don’t buy books. (I don’t have a lot of that stuff…ah, what do they call it? Oh yeah: money.) But I walked boldly into Big W and paid $12.00 for The Fault in Our Stars. And now it is all mine. (I’m going to reread it before I see the movie in June.)
Thanks to Allen & Unwin, I won Every Breath! And then I got my copy of Rebel (Reboot #2). So CHRISTMAS WITH ALLEN & UNWIN. I’m also on the Aussie book tour for Rebel. Can I hyperventilate now?! I love this duology. But, so so sad it’s over…
City of Bones and Cruel Beauty are courtesy of my library. But this is my 3rd time borrowing City of Bones. I refuse to send it back unread. I’m going to do it! I AM. And I’ve waited honestly forever to read Cruel Beauty. But I’m a tad worried about the names. Ignifex? It sounds like a spinifex bush and an igloo married, and huzzah: Ignifex was born.
sunday – Let’s be honest…Cait remodelled a few YA covers.
monday – Cait competed with you about who is the WORST fan. (As we do.)
tuesday – V is for villain and C is for cliche, BUT we did enjoy reviewing this evil superhero book.
wednesday – Cait rounded up her favourite 10 squishy bookish friends. They’re adorable.
friday – We were brave and asked some publicists about their opinions on negative reviews.
saturday – We reviewed The Minnow. It’s a very wet book.
(Click to the covers to go to Goodreads.)
I’ve been busy this week! The Assassin’s Blade was by far the best read of the week. (OMG. LITTLE CELAENA. SAM.) 5-stars-and-a-billion-more.
Rebel is a close second, with 4-stars.
Then Prisoner of Night and Fog at 3-stars.
Take Back the Skies wins…the “shhh” award. 1-star. I’m sorry.
And I’m almost finished More Than This.
Emily @ The Loony Teen Writers asks us how we feel about Skyscraper Syndrome. (That NEEDS to be a Thing now.)
Stormy @ Book Blog Bake talks about gendered books.
Ely & Chami @ A Book So Fathomless talk about blogger love. Share the luuurve with us, dudes.
Oh gosh, blogglings, do we have something special planned for this week! It’s party time on this blog! Trust me, you don’t want to miss this. It’s aaaall themed Alice in Wonderland. We’re having games, giveaways, and an interview with the amazingly talented YA author, A.G. Howard. AND, coincidentally (I didn’t know this! I promise!) the Ensnared cover is being released in just a few days…how awesome is that?! I’m freakishly excited. And I hope Jeb isn’t on the cover.
Plus our blog turns 3 years old…on the 27th to be exact. But why party one day, when you can party all week?!
We will be doing this:
And probably a bit of this…
It’s going to be FRABJOUS! Are you coming?! I really hope you’re coming.
