I haven’t collected my rambunctious books up for a while, so here it goes! And if you’re wondering about the influx of writers posts instead of bookish posts…the answer is quite difficult. Here, come closer, little closer…I’ll whisper it in your ear…
I’m writing again. Okay, rewriting. It’s very hard work. It takes a lot of my braincells. I deserve apple pie because of it. Or something, I’m really quite flexible, as long as it’s sweet and delicious. I’m 12,000-words down. Only 50,000-words to whip into shape. Go me.
I’m linking up with Tynga’s Reviews for the meme Stacking The Shelves! And also Caffeinated Book Reviewer for Sunday Post! Basically: you recount books you’ve won/bought/collected this week.
Thanks Scholastic for Breaking Butterflies! I’m absolutely in love with the cover on this one. Oh, yes, there are words inside the cover too. I mean, I guess. I’ve been too busy stroking it to look.
Thank you Pan Macmillan for Dead Dog in the Still of the Night. And no! This is NOT a sequel to The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (though I loved that book).
Thank you Text Publishing for The Secret Abyss and Shimmer. These were both surprises! I’ll have to throw The Secret Abyss (book #2) at Mime since she read the first and I did not. My bad. Shimmer features a 140-year-old protagonist. Interesting…
Wonder and A Midsummer’s Nightmare and City of Ashes (Mortal Instruments #2) are all from my library. I’ve already read Wonder (ate it all up. It’s really good). And I’m quite proud of myself because I never read sequels, but here I have City of Ashes already out from the library after finishing City of Bones last week. Self-five! And DOUBLE self-five if you got the fandom references in my bookstack photo.
These are my favourite covers of the stack.
monday – Diverse books aren’t always awesome. They do have the ability to suck.
tuesday – We review The Assassin’s Blade and basically fall over ourselves in love of this book.
wednesday – Confession time! Cait lists her worst writing mistakes.
thursday – Cait reviews Take Back The Skies and uses a lot of cat gifs to make up for how much she really didn’t like this book.
friday – Let’s have a linkup PAR-TAY! Already super impressed by the number of linkers (over 20 of you! Woot!). It’s open all month, so, wonderful writers, time to
interrogate interview your characters.
saturday – Maggie Stiefvater is unusual awesome. Here, I will show you why.
You’ve probably read the outrageous article that’s prompted some awesome posts in the YA blogsphere this week (thanks, Lydia, for…you know, sending to me and igniting my fury). I absolutely adored Mel @ The Daily Prophecy and Kirsti @ Melbourne On My Mind‘s responses.
Jeann @ Happy Indulgence talks about criticism in blogging.
Kelley @ Oh the Books has a FABULOUS quiz to find out what heroine archetype you are.
Sky @ Further Up and Further In (aaand also me) has relaunched the Beautiful People meme for writers. Link up with us if you dare!
Kelly @ Diva Booknerd and Faye @ The Social Potato are doing follower appreciation giveaways.
Nara @ Looking for the Panacea doesn’t want you to read this post. (Go on, you know what to do.)
And (in case you didn’t know) THE FAULT IN OUR STARS IS IN CINEMAS. YAAAAAY!!! John Green vlogs about it. (Epic blue carpet, by the way.)
