As I was scrolling through Pinterest (as I do), I saw this pin comparing John Green to Bernard from Megamind and Veronica Roth to Roxanne Richi. It was brilliant.
It made me ask deep and life changing questions.
Do other YA authors have animated character look-a-likes?
Answer: Why yes, yes they do.
I do not claim genius for this one! But you needed to see it. To complete your life.
Neither do I claim for this one! (It was in that pin I saw.) But are the similarities not startling awesome? Also, their names are quite similar…
I am ridiculously pleased with this one! I mean, LOOK. JUST LOOK. The hair…plus the background colours? I’m pretty sure J.R. Johansson isn’t telling us something…
It isn’t just the looks, I’m secretly pleased with the background too. HOW ARE THE BACKGROUNDS THE SAME COLOURS? Although, we can all admit, John Boyne isn’t rocking a nose like Gru is.
This one is a little stretch. But they still have the same kind of hair (Lauren Oliver’s being a little less curly), and very similar eyeballs. I do not think, however, that Lauren Oliver has psychotic tendencies.
They both rock the smug hat look, too.
This. THIS. I am immensely proud of this fine. I was tossing up comparing A.G. Howard to Elsa from Frozen, but it just wasn’t perfect. This? This is perfect.
I think they’re both looking fine in that bluish colour, although, I DO admit, it’s not as close as some others. Natalie Whipple obviously needs to be struck with ice. No, no, I didn’t say that. That’s not nice.
Peoples! Just look at this! And there are better photos of Professor Bumba without his glasses, but do you think the Internet would lead me to any? No. It was being difficult (or Epic was too much of a movie fail to have lots of pictures…)
This is my personal absolute favourite. When I thought of this match, my brain exploded with the awesome. Their eyes aren’t exact…BUT ISN’T YOUR MIND BLOWN?!
But WAIT. There’s MORE.
Putting together this brilliance (and coincidentally spending a lot of time pinning Despicable Me GIFs), I began wondering if Mime and I might have a Secret Animated Life as well.
Turns out, yes, we do.
Maybe Mime’s smile is a little too…freaky. But the similarities are startling…in personality as well! (So says I.) And hair styles. And glasses…Mime, do you have a friend named Avery?
We all know I’m adorable and
annoying secretly interested in unicorns. But our looks of amazement are quite similar. Except Agnes is looking at a future-mother and I’m reacting to Mime’s lunacy. Still Resemblance’s. Don’t deny it.
I will keep my eyeballs peeled for more of these startling resemblences. Because seriously…
Cait has been very busy planning out Mime’s school holidays (obviously Mime needs them planned). They have Divergent to go see in cinemas, bush walks to go on, coffee to drink, bunnies to be petted, skydiving to be done, books to review, worlds to conquer, souls to enslave to their brilliance. They’re swamped.
