Because it is frowned upon (in some weird societies) to do nothing but read and write books, Mime and I occasionally participate in other activities.
|Here I am…up the front. Dang it.|
|For the wind-only piece, Mime had a solo!|
the pieces we played
Russian Sailors’ Dance by Reinhold Gliere
Habanera from Carmen by Bizet
(Strings only) Capriol by Peter Warlock
(Woodwind only) Symphonic Overture
Viva la Vida by Coldplay
Trepak by Tchaikovsky
(Thank you to my Dad for videoing!!)
We were awesome. This is proven by the fact that our 2-year-old nephew gave us flowers at the end (he may have been prompted, but you know, probably not).
Playing in an orchestra was so cool! (It was my first time too!) Pity this only happens once a year…
cait is fond of ice cream, cellos, and viva la vida. accompanied by her nephew and mime, she ate celebratory icecream after the performance. it was delicious. in reality, she is not a violent or malicious person, even though (in light of her cello playing) it seems that way. she thinks the youth orchestra needed a bigger stage. she thinks cookie-dough icecream is the best flavour. but the only way to be sure is to try it again…
