You know what’s fun? Lists of questions.
We keep seeing this bookish-survey go around, with 55 quirky book questions. We’ve see it on copious blogs, but most recently Musings From Neville’s Navel. So! We googled and we believe it originated here.
Because 55 questions is kind of a lot, we’re splitting this into two posts of discussion awesome. You’ve been warned.
1. Favourite childhood book?
2. What are you reading right now?

3. What books do you have on request at the library?
CAIT: Mime, do you even have anything on reserve? Or do you just obediently read the books I give you?
MIME: I wouldn’t use the word “obedient”. It makes me sound way too “minion”.
CAIT: Well done! You’re finally learning your place! But, to answer the question, I have many books waiting for me at the library. I have Let It Snow and This Star Won’t Go Out and She Is Not Invisible. I keep demanding the library give it to me, but they’re asking for patience or something ridiculous.
MIME: Let it snow! Let it snow!
CAIT:
4. Bad book habit?
5. What do you currently have checked out at the library?
6. Do you have an e-reader?
7. Do you prefer to read one book at a time, or several at once?
8. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog?
9. Least favourite book you read this year so far?
10. Favourite book you’ve read this year?
12. What is your reading comfort zone?
13. Can you read in the car?
14. Favourite place to read?
15. What is your policy on book lending?
16. Do you ever dog-ear books?
17. Do you ever write in the margins of your books?
18. Not even with textbooks?
MIME: I’m going to have to say no.
CAIT: Textbooks? I barely remember the things.
19. What is your favourite language to read in?
20. What makes you love a book?
21. What will inspire you to recommend a book?
22. Favorite genre?
MIME: Right now, I really like contemporaries. They’re funny, they’re quirky… I like it. When I was Middle Grade age, though, I adored gothic books, like Lemony Snicket.
CAIT:As long as it’s YA, I’ll probably try it. Dystopian used to be my favourite, but writers seem to sacrifice individuality for a dystopic-checklist which sometimes bores me to tears. SO. I adore retellings and paranormal and moody contemporaries and horror.
23. Genre you rarely read but wish you did?
24. Favourite biography?
25. Have you ever read a self-help book?
26. Favorite cookbook?
CAIT: Speak of the devil!
MIME: I can’t be specific on this. Any cookbook with chocolate in it. (As long as the chocolate isn’t mixed with avacado. Ugh, no.)
CAIT: Do I even know you?? I also like cookbooks that contain food. I like easy ones, without a million steps. Put it in a bowl, mix it up, put it in your mouth.
27. Most inspirational book you’ve read this year (fiction or non-fiction)?
Because there are 55 questions and we know you love us but probably not that much…this will be continued next week!
Cait is possibly the only person who can make Mime literally laugh her head off. In fact, after the cucumber comment, Mime needed to take a moment to compose herself. Mime is back at school doing petty tasks like maths and Cait is growing paper flowers. They now have a sudden hankering to re-watch Megamind but are contenting themselves with quoting, “L-O-L smiley face.”
Oh you two, you make me howl with laughter! No seriously, even my Mum thinks youre hilarious, and that's great! I loved these questions and cannot wait for the next part now. Genre I rarely read I'd have to says is NA, merely because I'm picky with it, it has to draw me from the cover and synopsis and not sound the same as others and I used to read many at once, now I like to read one, maybe two at a time, just helps me concentrate and immerse in the world and with the characters better, but that could change in the future! 🙂
"We're raising a cucumber" OMGG Stop making me laugh so hard 😛 Your answers are awesome, and you two are so funny 😀 As for me… A genre I rarely read but wish I read more of is definitely classics. I just feel like I should have read them, you know? But there are also so many shiny other books… And I rarely read more than one book at once. I don't want to get the storylines merge in my head or something, and I like finishing one thing before starting the next. (Well, when it comes to books, anyway. I'm not that organized besides that, unfortunately.) Plus, it makes reviewing easier for me :)Great post and I can't wait for part II 😀
Ahhhhhhh I'm sooo happy that I found this blog, you two are FANTASTIC!!! Even if English isn't my mother language, I feel it in my fingers and in my toes that this blog will develope to be my favourite one in the world! <3Uhmmm, I rarely read Thrillers – because I shit myself. And I can't sleep afterwards. But most of adult books are Thrillers so I am supposed to get used to them :(My record was reading six or seven books at the same time… one in the bus, one at school, one for the school, one in bed, one on the sofa aaand so on. But most of times I read only two or three, because it is tooo confusing 😀
There are so many things I want to say about this post but there's too many things so I'll just say that I loved it and laughed so hard that my dad looked over at me with a rather confused expression, and I'll answer the last questions…and probably do the 55Q thing on my blog (later). What's a genre that I wish I read more of? Classics. I often enjoy them (especially in audio), but there are so many modern books that I also want to read. How many books do I read at once? Anywhere between 1 and 10. I'll get half-way through a book, and the next day I'll be in the mood for something else.
Completely agree about epic Fantasy. BORING! I can't get into them and they are even harder to review. I'm actually going to read one classic per month, I've got shelves full of them so have no excuse not to.y favourite book as a child was Charlotte's Web. I actually bought a beautiful hardcover yesterday on Bookworld so that when I have a little one (hopefully really soon), I can pass on the story to them. Dystopian is still by far my preferred genre, followed by apocalyptic. I love the doom and gloom.
YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK THIEF YET? and yEs to RIP feels. :'((((((((((((((((((((((((((LET IT GOOOO, LET IT GOOOO, CAN'T HOLD IT BACK ANY MOREEEE, what? oh. fine. i'll stop. I HAVE A NICE VOICE YOU KNOW.Out of curiosity, why did you loathe Take Back The Skies? "life doesn't stop for love, people. You can still have a life outside of your crush. " < PREACHAhah yes, I need people to suffer with me too!How many books do I read at once? As many as I feel like :PA genre I don't read that much? Classics, I've read a lot, but not so many recently :/
Love love love these joint posts <3 I'd love to meet you two in real life and see if the hilarity translates! As for your questions – I read one book at a time unless I'm reading something for school, in which case I read two (because school books are tedious and I need some YA to spice it up). A genre I rarely read but want to is YA psychological/thriller/something like that. Because they're cool and I can't get enough. Looking forward to part 2 🙂
You two seriously rock my world! I so wish there was not an ocean between us so that we could hang out!Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings
I also love ridiculously fun fandoms. 😀 It's so lonely when one is in a tiny fandom. xD *shocked face* How can BOTH of you read only one book at a time?! I just can't do it. I'm reading… four or five at the moment, I think? xDAlso, thanks (once again) for the shout-out!
Oh, this is absolutely hilarious. I love it when you guys write a post together! And Cait, you honestly never struck me as someone who gets carsick. Bless your heart. And ignore my celebrating at finding another person in the blogosphere who does (I get dreadfully carsick myself and it seems like no one else does).I would answer your questions… except I plan on doing these questions on my own blog. :)~Robyn
YOU TWO. You guys should come with a warning. Thanks for the laughs, guys! 😀
A while a go I made a tag up called The Book Lovers Tag and I think it's perfect for you girls to try especially if you like answering questions especially book related questions 🙂 <a href="http://www.saraheliza.co.uk/2014/02/book-lovers-tag-created-by-me.htmlhttp://www.saraheliza.co.uk/2014/02/book-lovers-t… />Sarah xhttp://www.saraheliza.co.uk/
"And I'm about to start The Book Thief, so RIP my feels." I should've read this post first before yelling at you on your Stacking the Shelves post about NOT reading the Book Thief yet. OH WELL THAT'S OK.Wow raising a cucumber huh. Sounds delicious–I mean awesomeOK to answer your Q's, let's see. The genre I would love to read more is….probably science fiction (but not YA because I do read a lot of that, ok maybe 2 books the past few weeks but whatevers). But I'm scared of all the terminology that's going to just go wayyyyy past my head. AND OH if you're looking for a great place to start with epic fantasy, TRY BRANDON SANDERSON. I'm sure people commented on that already.Uh, I read one book at a time. 2 at the most. And 3 if I'm completely and utterly insane or it involves college textbook readings.LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR OTHER POSTS!!! <3 you guys
CAIT. Since when do you have a child?!? You've either been HIDING this cucumber business from me, or a lot has happened since we last conversed (which was only last Thursday). This was a good post/discussion. I almost want to answer the questions myself, but fifty-five is a lot. Oh, and I'd like to mention that I caught that Despicable Me reference.
55 questions is…intimidating. MIGHT try it though because it sounds like fun. 🙂 Not to sound cliche, but I guess I wish I read more classics because I've heard that you're supposed to and your life will never be the same afterwords. Too bad I can't get past the excruciatingly difficult language and writing and type and everything. Darn it. 😉 I've read a few though. I always make resolutions that never happen. Also, I wish I read more historical and mermaid-y stuff. I used to read a lot of historical but then I just got out of it. :/I've started as many as five books at the same time but I usually stick with reading just one because it's confusing to my little brain to have to keep up with two worlds. >.< Or maybe two at a time if I'm feeling especially kick-butt brave 😉
This is awesome! Hilariously funny :)I would say I need to read more thrillers – I got really into them at one stage but my collection slowly dissipated over time.I usually read about 2 at a time, and maybe 3. My brain couldn't cope with any more. You've earned yourselves a new follower :DTT from http://someteenagereviews.blogspot.co.uk
I loved this post. It's always so much fun to have both of you writing a post. Let's see . . . A genre I barely ever read but wouldn't mind reading more of is historical fiction. I am currently reading ten books right now. (No joke.) They are all for pleasure, but I usually keep the number of books I am reading down to about four or five. I'm not certain how I let it get out of hand.
I wish I read more classics, but, while pretty, they are somewhat tiresome and exhausting to wade through. Normally I read two books at once, or, at least, there are always two books on my bed shelf. Thanks for this post, Cait and Mime. I AM happy to see Mime back more often. Hope you all had great holidays!
This was so funny! It made my day! I would like to read more fantasy books. I read a lot of historical fiction, science fiction, fairytale retellings, classics and memoirs, but I enjoyed the LOTR trilogy and The Hobbit so much that it's made me want to try out some more fantasy books.I used to read only one book a day, but now that my parents created a rule at the beginning of the summer that requires me to read only nonfiction on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I usually read two books at a time.
I wish I read more contemporary. I actually want to be able to write it, but I keep adding magical cathedrals or people trapped in trees or whales that sink ships. Well… that last one was just plain epic fantasy.I can read no more than one book at once, just like I can write no more than one book at once. I start something, then I see it through. That is all.Great post, guys. I wish I commented here more often— you guys are awesome. (I'm like you with epic fantasy, Cait. I admire from a distance. I wish I didn't, but… yeah. How do you find so many gifs?)
(this comment is going to be long and will be pretty cut up… yeah don't mind me)YOU'VE READ THE BOXCAR CHILDREN, MIME? OMG! YAY. I didn't think anyone else had heard of that series. I've only read one book if my memory serves me right but seriously, I LOVED IT. And Narnia was fabulous although I didn't read it as a child .-.Ugh that really is ridiculous, Cait. How can anyone ask anyone to be patient when it comes to books????Cait, reading too much isn't a bad habit. MIME, YOU NEED TO READ MORE. Make sure you remedy this sometime soon :POh and omg Graffiti Moon is AWESOME. Ah Cait, I hope you're not engaged to the same fridge as I am because things could get a little… tricky.I KNOW RIGHT? I cannot read in the car, on the bus or on any mode of transportation.Oh but Lemony Snicket's books are quirky 😛 and totally awesome. I WISH THERE WERE MORE YA books like his series. I WOULD KILLL to read them (a little violent?? I DONT CARE :P).I kind of feel the same way about fantasy but for me it's more about the fact that… I LOVE them but… I don't read them as often as I should… .-. I HAD SO MUCH FUN READING YOUR ANSWERS, Ladies! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!Rashika @ The Social Potato
THIS POST IS AMAZING! <3 You girls are absolutely hilarious. 😀 (Have I said that before? xx)And to answer your questions…1). I wish I read more fantasy. I don't know why, but all the fantasies I read are either "meh" or "ugh." (Except for Throne of Glass!) Whether it's because I've only read a few fantasy books and all of them just happened to be bad or because fantasy isn't my jam is up for debate though.2). One. I have the attention of a dog when a squirrel is right in front of him / her. If I'd read more than one, I'd never be able to review books; much less remember specific details!
BATTLE HYMN OF THE TIGER MOTHER was hilarious!
I LOVE THESE QUESTIONS THINGS BECAUSE I'M BASICALLY A HUGE STALKER AND LOVE LEARNING ABOUT PEOPLE AND THEIR LIVES….. I mean what.Lol y'all are to funny with your answers though, love how you add gifs and all of that sibling banter. You bring these questions to life haha. I hope your cucumber is growing up well Cait [; I wish I read more classics. I mean they're classic for a reason, they're incredibly well written and thought provoking. However modern day beautiful covers and plotlines are more intriguing to me, along with ARCs (: hah. I could never read more than one book at once. I just need to focus all of my energy into one, or else I'd probably end up getting confused or forget I was reading the other one and just finish one of them. I need to set limits! Though it can be difficult when you want to read a certain book that seems a lot more interesting than the one you're currently reading. Can't wait to read more of your answers to the questions (:
"WOULD YOU LIKE TO EXPLODE?" Lol! Hilarious and fun post again from the sisters! Yay! The questions are totally fun to answer and I am looking forward for part two!I want to read more classics (but I know this won't happen anytime soon :p). And I am with you on epic fantasy! I only admire them from a distance cause I tend to get….bored with the first chapters (except for some). I can only read a book at once. XD I just ordered Splintered and I am so excited to start the series since Cait really adored it! I hope you two enjoy The Maze Runner although it can be darn /annoying/ sometimes :p
This was so much fun. 🙂 I love it when you two do these posts together. I used to only read one book at a time. But now that it's summer, I'll read more than one. Especially if one is contemporary. Maybe it's just me, or the contemporaries I've been reading, but the genre rarely ever shocks me. They seem like fluff books. So I can another book that is more gripping and/or intellectual at the same time. I wish I read more steampunk. The whole idea of it is intriguing. Every time I find one, the world is amazing and I love it. But the characters and story just don't grab my attention. I really wish I read more dystopian, but I have a hard time finding ones that sound interesting or at least outside-the-box.Is there a contemporary that is not fluffy? And not too heavy on the romance?
Oh, man, you girls are hilarious. I can't wait to see how that cucumber will look like when it "grows up". LOL that sounds weirding thinking about it now… but in all honesty, I'm only reading this post because lordie I love both of your interactions. Your banter makes me howl in laughter. LOVE IT, GIRLS! I may do these questions on my personal blog next time.Faye at The Social Potato
A pickle maybe? But come one! Don't talk about my baby growin' up. Let me enjoy it while it's young.
Not reading is definitely a bad habit, hhahahah! I think I'll mark this page as favorite coz I'll enjoy reading this post over and over again. Can't wait for next week and GREAT GREAT post! 😀 :DLola @ Hit or Miss Books
I usually only read one or two at a time, because otherwise it's hard to remember which plot has who, and it all gets so confusing. I have enough trouble remembering plots without remember 300 at once. 😉 I haven't read any NA, I don't think. Probably because I'm not the target audience yet. I've heard mixed things about it, though.
Cait actually had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. It was kind of interesting. Because she was typing. And I was dying. I totally need to read more classics! Because it's not like they're bad… they're just hard! 🙂
You speak multiple languages? Okay, that is plain cool. I speak English and sarcasm. (Also, random bits of French and Italian for the purposes of music. But my pronunciation is terrible.) Haha. Thrillers. I read The Naturals not too long ago. THAT one was like woah! Creeeepy! Fun, though.
1 and 10? Woah. Admiration. Audio book classics are pretty cool. Except for Jane Eyre. Cait and I listened to the first half on audio, and then they all started speaking in French. And we kind of went je ne sais WHAT? Because at least when you read it you can pick out similar words and get a vague idea, but anyway. Anne of Green Gables was really good as an audio book. I enjoyed that, back about three years ago. 😉
I love your discussions posts …. !!! Specifically the cucumber comment. :')I read one fiction book at once. Sometimes with some other sneaky non-fiction on the side. But for fiction I am very focussed … unless the book is taking me four months ~cough A Suitable Boy cough cough~ in which case I might sneak some Georgia Nicolson or maybe a thriller/fantasy sequel that I really can't wait for.ON THE SUBJECT OF CHINESE BIOGRAPHIES, you should read Wild Swans by Jung Chang, ie REAL-LIFE 1984. Terrifying, terrifying ….
Love this list!! Anyway, I thought I'd be live commenting but my comment will go way overboard. So I just decided to make my comment more confusing. Haha! 😀 To answer your questions…I would love to read more of classics like Mime since I have several of them on my bookshelves. Before I started blogging, I usually just stick with one book, then it became 2-3 books. But now that I realized it's me who suffers when I read several books at once (I have a terrible memory), I learn to limit it to 1 book per reading only. I would love to listen to Chronicles of Narnia, Cait! Who narrated it btw? I recently finished the entire HP series and I did it the audio way and it definitely increased my love for it ten-fold, if that's even possible since I already love HP like this big *points to the globe*. Mime, I've only read one mermaid book and I didn't like it so I hesitated on picking up Anna Banks' mermaid series. I would love to try someday though. And guys, I would totally buy a tablet just to play those crazy games and it will be loaded with gazillions of books as well. I am looking into buying a Kindle though since I'd like to have a separate device for reading. There's less distraction that way. Also, I can't read in a car as well. My head just can't handle all the jostling and bumping while reading. P.S. Sniffing books is awesome. It's the best smell (next to babies) in the world especially the old ones.
I was going to read 1 adult book per month…but then I found adulting scary and awkward and slunk back to the picture-book aisles in the libraries. Your collection of classics is GORGEOUS though. So at least if you don't read them, you can just stroke the covers and whisper nice and wonderful things, right?
I JUST FINISHED. LITERALLY JUST A FEW HOURS AGO. RIP ALL FEELS. I CANT EVEN, OKAY???(I quite disliked Take Back the Skies, because I felt the plot had ginormous holes and the characters were a bit petty and the writing not very tight. But I'm prone to be picky. I'm sure other people will adore it.)
Oh trust me, we're fabulous. Our mother sometimes asks why we're laughing so hard and all we can say is, "We're just hilarious." (She probably thinks we're burning curtains down here or something when we draft these posts. We laugh like A LOT.)I'm with you on the thrillers! I hardly read any of them but they're aaaawesome. Have you ever read Dangerous Girls?? IT'S GOOD.
We can lend you some goggles and flippers and you can paddle over to see us someday, yes?
Tiny fandoms are sad and so lonely but they're WORTH IT. Just being a fan is worth it all. We are both very focused people, yes? 😉 WE SHOUT ABOUT THINGS WE LOVE. TRUST ME.
Believe me, if you sat next to me in a car I'd "strike" you as being carsick. Uhhhhhg. I hate travel. I always feel green.
YES! YES!! OMG YES! We need matching warning tee-shirts.
We shall check it out, Sarah! THANKS.
HEY BUT I'M DONE NOW, OKAY? All my feels are gone. I am an empty case of emotionless pain. And I KNEW the ending from the movie already…but still…I am devastated. Don't even think about eating my child.Sci-fi is awesome and definitely worth eating more of…but it can be confusing, right? I WANT TO TRY BRANDON SANDERSON. I never have. Never ever. There is a hole in my bookish life, right?
A lot can happen between Thursday and Sunday. Just think what life'll be like by next Tuesday. I might have a pickle.55 IS a lot. It's especially a lot for one post. (And I kind of feel like part 2 repeated part 1 a bit…but whatever. We didn't make the questions.) And yesss, you are good. Despicable Me is in there copiously.
Oh, I read like one or two or five or eight books at a time…SERIOUSLY I READ A LOT OF BOOKS AT THE SAME TIME. I DONT KNOW WHY.Umm…I should probably read more classics. BUT FANTASIES WHAT'S THE POINT OF READING IF THERE'S NO MAGIC OR ACTION OR…*dissolves*
Awesome post! I am totally doing this later. As for the questions… I wish I read more contemporary? I usually read fantasy and dystopian, but you know, you can only read so many post-apocalypse books. It's just that sometimes contemporaries seem so… cheesy and cliche. I usually only read one or two books (emphasize on one) at a time because that's as much I can manage without confusing their plots and confusing myself. I can't wait to read Part 2! 🙂
A pickle. Oh dear.
Like mime, I wish I read more classics. I love them so much, but it's just effort to rekindle my love. Once I start reading them I go on a sort of classics rampage, and read as many as I can. But until then I have to adapt from summery contempary to classics, which is very tiring!! I also only like to read one book at once, otherwise I find I just don't read the other book, although sometimes it ends up me not wanting a DNF so pretending I'm reading 2 when I'm actually reading 1 and still have a bookmark in the both
It IS intimidating, I agree. Although they're fabulous fun. x) Ugh, I'm with you on classics. I just…they're boring? I don't understand WHY they're classics. I think we revere them more for their age, then for people actually enjoying reading them.
Aw, thanks, Thomas! And thanks for following. I HOPE YOU ENJOY THE CRAZY.
I hardly ever read HF anymore…buuut, I did grow up reading solely HF, so I don't feel too bad. 😉 4 or 5 is an impressive amount to read at once!
They ARE exhuasting. And I just…I don't really "get" them most of the time. Maybe my brain just doesn't compute the old language? (See, Mime?! SEE. They miss you.) XD I'm glad to have her back too, Annie-Jo.
EEEH WE'RE SO GLAD. We mildly amuse ourselves. Wow, that's a tough rule?! I guess it would stretch your brain though…
Oh same, same. I keep thinking up epic contemporary premises and then, um, what shall I do for the climax? I KNOW: ZOMBIES. *waves goodbye to contemporaries*You and me both for 1 book at at time. Same with writing for me too. I don't understand who people can have so many projects on at once. They must be genius. (And we find gifs just via google. Or giphy.com. Thanks for coming by Liam!! I'm off to your blog, feels like aaaages since I've been there! My bad…)
OMG DO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME MY FRIDGE IS CHEATING ON ME??? WHAT. WHAT WHAT WHAT. We had a cucumber and everything. Ohh, my heart is broken. If this doesn't sort out, I'm leaving with the freezer. We'll raise ice cream. You read all the AWESOME books! Boxcar Children…Narnia…Lemony Snicket… Yessss. I hardly ever hear of people who read them too. And YUS to more books like Lemony Snicket. I guess people are too scared to write so wackily?? I LOVE IT THOUGH. #yourcommentwasfreakishlyawesome
EXACTLY me for #1 there…ToG changed me forever, a.k.a it smashed up my feels and I am more Vulcan than anything else because of it. BUT STILL. Maybe I always pick dodgy fantasies too?? Not sure. Their size always kills me. DOUG! SQUIRREL! UP REFERENCE, RIGHT?!
I know, right?!! She was so brutally honest. I felt sorry for her kids though…and sorry for her. XD
THAT'S OKAY, STALKER. I STILL LIKE HAVING YOU AROUND. *pats on head* (Because, you know, secretly I'm the same…because It's interesting learning about people's lives. Not creepy at all.)Thanks for asking about the cucumber. It's well, thank you. Although above, Rashika informed me that my fridge is having an affair, so maybe I may be leaving the fridge for the freezer. I'll keep you updated on my love life.
Hehe. XD I'm so glad it was funny!! XD WE TRY. YUS. (Actually, the rivalry comes naturally, believe it or not.)Epic fantasies are beautiful from a distance. I imagine all the work that goes into them and then I smile politely as I walk past them without borrowing any from the library. I just…can't. I've GOT to be in the right mood. OMG YOU HAVE SPLINTERED?! YAY AYYAYA!!! LOVE IT, OKAY? NOT OPTIONAL NOT TO.
Eeeep! I enjoy doing 'em too, Ashley, I just have to drag Mime away from her flute. -_-I think contemporaries are rather fluffy books….or else seriously depressing. Like Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock? (Which is, coincidentally, NOT heavy on romance at all.) Just depressing. But I still liked it. I'm not really into steampunk myself. I tried a few buuuut…it didn't work out between us.
It IS a bad habit. I keep glaring at Mime because of it but she just throws books and that's mildly painful. XD HEHE I'M GLAD IT WAS FUNNY!!
*pats cucumber* It's growing up nicely, I must admit. Ohhh, I can imagine sneaking in some variety if you're reading the same book for aaages. OKAY I'LL LOOK UP WILD SWANS.
You two are so adorable! I love how some of your answers are exactly the same, while others are polar opposites! Can I take one of you home with me? Better yet, I'll kidnap you both, lock you in a cellar and turn you into my personal entertainers! (I'm not creepy.)
It's got to be harder to make it original, I guess, with contemporary— that's where you get the really good books like TFIOS.Indeed. My enthusiasm is a one-track thing, and if I give it permission to chase anything but a single story at a time, it leaves me in the lurch.(I'm Captain America on YAvengers now— I'm using it as an excuse to work on my gif usage. Don't worry about coming by my blog, since I've been so bad with yours.)
Alone, you are each cute, but together, you are insanely hilarious. Seriously. My sister and I get on like this, but it doesn't/didn't translate well on the blog. Anyway, I wish I read more classics, too. I have several on my shelf that I want to read, but other books call to me more. I normally read one book and listen to another at the same time. I've tried actually reading more than one book at a time, but one always interests me more than the other, so I can't quit reading it until it's done, THEN I move on to the other. Or find something else to read entirely.
Ahhh you guys! You make me laugh and smile and wish I had a sister. You guys are hilarious. Anyways… a genre I wished I read more of would be classics (because there are some pretty awesome classics out there). And ask for books I read a couple at a time. I read one book at home, another one the train, another at uni, one in my job, and an audiobook for when I'm going home. It's really complicated but I find I never get lost between the books. I will definitely try this.
You two are too much! I love it 🙂 Also, I am totally doing this on my blog, because frankly, I am fresh out of ideas for Thursday. So you know, thanks in advance. And to answer your questions: I always read 2 books at once: one on my Kindle and one physical book. I used to only do one, but now I kind of feel like something is missing if I am not reading both. And fantasy. When I read it, I usually end up liking it (ahem, The Grisha trilogy) but I am so reluctant to start reading any (again with the Grishas…) Also, I now I want a sister. But my parents are far too old for this task. And I don't see my brother ever talking books with me (honestly, is he even literate? I'm not convinced).
This is great! I've just stumbled across your blog and I cannot wait to read more 🙂 I'm definitely going to try this out. Hilarious post!Zoe xxhttp://thebritinaus.blogspot.com.au/
Oh, gosh, I'm not sure who narrated Narnia…I know it was a dramatised version, so all the different characters had different voices and sound effects and stuff. I'd like to say it's Focus on the Family? But I can't quite remember. (The first book in Anna Banks' series is the best, imo, hehe…I didn't like the 2nd and now I'm scared to read the 3rd! But we'll see.)I WANT A KINDLE. Actually, I want an iPad. Totally legit need, right?!! My ipod gets very frustrating after a while…gah, you're literally turning pages every few seconds. (Books and babies literally DO smell the best.)
YOU ARE AMAZING THEN. Sometimes I get like halfway through a book and then kiiind of decide to stop reading it. And it'll just sit around half read, because I'm unwilling to DNF books. >-<
Oh I agree! I like the more depressing (lol, that sounded bad) contemporaries…you know, with major accidents or weeping and gnashing of teeth. The highschool dramas? Not so much…Part 2 is coming on Sunday night! XD
I totally get that! Me too. But…when was the last time I even read a classic?? Peter Pan? >-< I know. I'm bad.
N'awwww. THANKS. We work hard to be completely winning. And we never ever fight. (Polar opposites…yus. Sometimes.) *brandishes books* I WILL THROW IF YOU ATTEMPT TO KIDNAP ME.
Hehe. We try to do this for vlogging, but THAT'S where I find it doesn't translate well. I just let Mime yabber away and forget to interrupt her. Reading and listening…oh yes! I used to do that when I actually sat down to listen to audios. I don't drive a lot of places, though, so and I absolutely cannot sit still and listen to an audio.
Yay, I hope you do! The questions are quite fun. Sisters are awesome, but very high maintenance. Gee, the things I have to do for Mime…basically direct her life, because gosh knows she can't do it on her own.
YAY I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR THURSDAY. And answering questions is kind of freakishly fun. If you follow that link to the original post, you can see all 55 questions straight away. (My brother's not literate. I mean, maybe he was. Like he probably read one book once…)
HI ZOE. I'm so off to your blog now. XD
CAIT: I have a list of very specific criteria for a book to match to make me love it. We won't go into the exact details, but least to say, I require it to (like Mime) make me laugh and cry and possibly mention food. Delicious food. I literally love a book or character more if it's food-centric/ they love love food. That's all the criteria. I'm easy like that. hahaha.
I rarely read psychological thrillers but it's one of those genres that I really really love. It's amazing how much they can screw with my head. But I feel like all I've been reading is light stuff. One day, I'll have to go on a psychological thriller marathon! For me, I can only ever read one book at a time but sometimes, I'll put a book down if it's boring. Then I'll read something else and go back to it if I can. 😀
Haha, I love you two! You always have me laughing so much that my boyfriend looks at me like I am strange. He's always asking why I'm laughing and then looks super confused when I try to explain. BOYS! 🙂 You always find such fun things to take part in! 55 bookish questions… yes, please! :)I can only ever read 1 book at a time. I like to dedicate all my time to that book, plus I would get really confused as well if I tried to read more than one. My habits have changed since I started blogging, I read so much more YA now and rarely read anything else. I am glad I am not the only one who can get ridiculously sick when they try and read in the car. Sometimes I am fine, but most of the time it makes me so sick that I can barely walk once I get out the car. I also can't lend out books, I don't really trust anyone not to ruin my books. I have terrible OCD when it comes to my books. I still shudder thinking about the state some have come back in when I used to lend them out. I'll definitely be back for part 2! 🙂
"I speak English and sarcasm." xD too funny :DYeess I speak German, Italian, English and French and next year I am going to learn Spanish. Annnddd I want to learn Russian or Chinese, so that I can dominate the entire world, MUHAHAHAHAH 😀
MIME: Not reading?CAIT: Reading too much?Love those lines! Also the Quenya and Klingon answer. I would totally read through all 55 (or 110) answers!
reading your girls post always make me laugh especially when you go back and forth in a conversation.
