Welcome to our fabulous February edition of Beautiful People!
And of course we’re going with a Valentine’s Day theme. Writers often have an affinity for shipping, don’t they?! So captains, gather thine ships* and let us sail this ocean blue!
* In case you didn’t know: “shipping” is a term that means “to root for two characters to get together”. Because relationship. GET IT? Yes. Now we are clear, let’s proceed.
Also thank you to everyone who joined in the January edition! We had 82 (!!) linkers which is pretty freaking fantastic.

- How did they first meet?
- What were their first impressions of each other?
- How long have they been a couple?
- How committed/loyal are they to each other? Would they break up over a secret or a disagreement? Could stress drive them apart? Would they die for each other?
- List 5 “food quirks” they know about each other. (Ex: how they take their coffee, if they’re allergic to something, etc….and feel free to mention other non-food quirks!)
- Does anyone disapprove of their relationship?
- What would be an ideal date?
- What are their personality dynamics? Similar? Contrasting? Do they fight a lot or mesh perfectly?
- What have been their best and worst moments together as a couple?
- Where do they see themselves and their relationship in the next few years?
good question cait 😀
I hope I can answer those question before deadline & able to participate..
wish me luck 😀
Eeep, thank you, Hana!! I hope you like them. (It’s open all month, so not too much pressure to do it fast.😂)
Ahhh I’m so tempted to do this, but my WIP isn’t complete yet and it’s the only one with a real romance. I’m still discovering them myself so I’m not sure if I can answer all the questions. AHHH. CAIT YOU DECIDE FOR ME! DO OR DON’T?
I THINK WE DECIDED YES, RIGHT? 😂
RIGHT! My post is scheduled for some time this week.
I’m thinking of doing this on the tumblr — these questions were MADE IN HEAVEN for Thomas/Dan from Matryoshka, and Snazzy Snippets put me in the mood for MORE SHIPPY QUESTIONS. And oh, I don’t often write romances, but when I do … let’s just say MY EVIL PERSONALITY SHINES THROUGH.
I READ YOUR TUMBLR POST AND I LOVED IT, bTW. They seem far too adorable. Seriously now, and pfft, you said you weren’t great at romance. YOU ARE.
This time I can finally participate, yes! 😀 I must say those questions are amazing and they will help me get know the characters better but since my story has more ships I have dillema which one to choose. This is going to be problem because I love all of them the same and then there’s the fear of spoiling the story… oh my. I’m going to think about it 😀
Oohh, choosing is hard, VERY HARD. 😂 I can’t wait to read what you come up with!
Some day I swear I’m going to do this. when I have the time. These are so cool.
I don’t write much romance, mainly because I don’t have a lot of experience in the department. But I do write fan fics for my favorite ships on occasion. I also have a thing for tragic romance. But then, I have a thing for tragic anything.
I got answer number five here because it’s too good to pass up. My MC and her friend (we’ll just call him friend for now *wink wink nod nod*) both have different tastes in coffee. She prefers it black and he drinks it with a lot of creme and sugar, so the first time he makes her coffee she spits it back into the cup it’s so sweet. I really like that scene for some reason.
I AM THE SAME. I have no romance experience, haha, but I am quite good at shipping adorable characters…and also destroying their love with tragedy??? Hmm. Clearly I am going to stand with you on the tragic-romance-is-great side.😂
FRIEND. *snorts* Awww, that sounds adorable though. <3 See this is why food is important in books?! OPPORTUNITIES FOR COFFEE MOMENTS OF ADORABLENESS.
I like this theme. 😀 Looking forward to doing it.
SQUEEEE. WE ARE SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT!
AAHHHHHH I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE.
OMO THOSE QUESTIONS
I CAN’T WAIT TO DO REGGIE AND NEVAEH WITH THIS
*actually flailing like a retarded seal*
AFJDSKALFDSJ THAT IS A POST I AM DYING TO READ BASICALLY.
I CAN’T WAIT FOR IT. I need to make myself do it soon. I always end up procrastinating(not on purpose???) and doing my BP post at like the end of the month I SHALL TRY TO GET IT DONE SOONER THIS TIME.
Oh gosh this is going to be hard for me hahah. But will at least help me address the current issue with my novel which is my flakiness about the couples. I have some ideas about who might be a couple, but I haven’t explored it very much at all. I’ve been especially flaky deciding who I want to pair my protagonist with. Which is exactly what happens when you put in two characters that are twins and can’t decide which twin you want him to be with >___< or if I want him to be with a twin at all! *collapses from indecision*
I'll be pondering these questions very hard this month!
I totally understand!! I almost always know who I’m going to match up…but…somehow I always end up destroying it before the end?!? 😂 And I’m sure my romances are more like hate-fight-love romances which is probably irritating to read,. heeh. AGH I HEAR YA WITH THE INDECISION. HAVE SOME CHOCOLATE. IT MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER.
Hmmm, my protag and love interest are only friends with hints of something more right now, but I’ll probably still use this list for them anyway. Thanks, Cait!
YAYY CAN’T WAIT. (Also do you have a blog? Because I would love to stop by. :D)
Can’t wait to do this one, I don’t have very many couples in my books.
hehe, neither do I really, but I do love the squishy ships I do have. :’) Can’t wait to read yours!!
Loved the questions!!
YAYYYY. And I’m off to read yours ASAP. 😀
I’m not usually a romance writer, I’m more KILL EVERYBODY!!!!!
I’m usually both. MWA HA HA HA HA!
I’M GONNA GO WITH EMKAYREADS ON THIS. Can’t we be both?!?!? BECAUSE THAT IS MY METHODS SO FAR.😂
I honestly don’t write a lot of romances in my stories. Granted, the last book that I actually FINISHED and really loved had a romance as the main focus but it wasn’t a typical happily-ever-after one, no. haha I just find those more realistic sometimes!!
-Lauren
I’m totally the same! 😂 I used to never even put romance in my books?! Oops. Now I’m getting better at it, but mine always end in tears and tragedy.
THESE ARE SUCH GOOD QUESTIONS. I don’t know if I will do this one–I want to, but I’m not a romantic person, so I don’t have a whole lot of romance in my books. But I will check, because maybe. *nods* I really do want to do this one though. *rifles through novels*
I’m not a romantic person much either BUT I STILL LIKE TO SHIP.😂 My books are usually absolutely doomed romantically. Someone always dies, or gets eaten, or shoots their love interest because why not. *nods* Ahem. But you should still link up with us BECAUSE YOU THINK I’M GREEEEEAT.
Oooh this is AWESOME. And after Wanderland I’m rewriting Grizzly (however long THAT takes *cries*) so these questions will be good preparation. Love the food quirks question. Of course it wouldn’t be Beautiful People (or your blog) without mention of food.
When Cait mentioned the idea of including food quirks in this round, that was exactly my thought. It’s such a CAIT thing to do! I love it.
BAHAHHA. Ahem. I was about to say “look what Sky has to put up with”. 😂
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHH OMG SO MANY SHIPPY QUESTIONS I LOVE IT.
SHIPPY SHIPPING MONTH. (!!!) NO REGRETS.
Great questions. Hope to answer them soon 😉
YAY!! I LOOK FORWARD TO READING IT. 😀
I had to dig very deep for this one (due to the lack of romance in both my soul and my average WIP). But I rose to the challenge (at least, in my opinion), and interviewed two characters from “The Butler Did It.”
So thanks for that 😉
I love love and writing about love and everything love, so yes, I write romances often. I kind of like the happily-ever-after type, but not without some conflict to see if they’re really worth seeing through to the end and all of that. I think that if there isn’t some trial to really test the bounds of their affection, then what’s the point?
Agreed! All books and romances need conflict…we readers need to work hard for our happily-ever-afters right?!? 😀
Yes! Definitely! Because sometimes it’s just swept out from under us and then we’re laying in a puddle of FEELS.
I’ve also joined in for this month and linked up! 😀
Ooh, this linkup was so much fun! Thanks for posting it! 😀

This was a hard one for me because I’m writing a dark fantasy/dystopian/apocalyptic novel and there is not a lot of romance going on! Also, my first draft is so far from being ready! so I haven’t developed my characters well yet. but I tried! 🙂
ooooh, dark fantasy/dystopian/apocalyptic?! THAT SOUNDS INCREDIBLE, OMG, BEST OF LUCK WITH THAT!! *flails* Thanks for joining in, too! 😀
I made it in just under the wire! I added my free range snippet at the end, too. 🙂
