Who here loooooves making decisions?!
Do I see HANDS? No…no hands? Well never mind, I’m going to torture you anyway 🤗 And you love me for it, don’t even argue.
A while ago, I made up a Bookish This Or That tag and it was a lot of fun and I made the options stressfully hard AND…all the poll links are broken now. Fantastic. Why? We don’t know. I suspect goblin interference. But today I’m back with a pART 2 🙌🏻 Which I was also posting in my Instagram Stories because I spend way too much time on there and less here and it’s a bit of a worry (pls help me). But anyway. Let’s go!
* Note: some of these are supposed to be lesser of the two evils etc. So have fun. 😏
Read multiple books at once OR one book at a time?

Would you choose…
Getting 1 brand new book per month OR 10 second-hand books but they’re damaged/stained?

Hero-to-villain trope OR villain-to-hero?

paperback or hardcover books?

only reading super hyped books everyone is reading OR only read books no one else knows about

enemies to lovers OR friends to lovers?

trilogy that never gets the final book OR long series but each book’s plot is very similar

every book you read is 200pgs OR 600pgs

having a friend hate your favourite book OR rereading an old favourite and now you hate it

1 character tells the story OR 3 characters tell the story

books set in summer OR winter

Would you choose…
being in a book slump and not feeling like reading OR wanting to read but having no time at all

I’m torn on a lot of these myself 🤔
Like I truly don’t know whether I’d just have 1 book a month or 10 damaged books because my instagram says NO to ugly books, but erm…I definitely cannot exist on one book alone. Just a sec. Let me go give myself a crisis.
And oddly enough, I’m also torn about the unfinished trilogy vs repetitious series. Because I hate not having finales, but at the same time I…procrastinate them so often? I have so many half finished series that I do love, but I just haven’t worked up the courage to finish anyway. And long series = more time with your fave characters even if the plots are the same. Although you can fall out of love with a series if it grows stale.
WOW. I am leaving the polls to you lot now.
| tell me what you think? |
which was the hardest to answer for you? tell me some of your choices ahhh!! i’m curious to see what everyone votes for!
Oh my gosh Cait this was so hard why
but…also fun. In a stressful way, y’know.
Idk why exactly, but the 200/600 pages one really got me. Because…600 pages is long, man. But sometimes I need a reading experience that lasts more than 200 pages……*cries*
This was so so hard 😂😂😂 I wish I could reverse some 🙈
OOh this is super fun and all the choices are really hard! I love a “descent to darkness” story, but I admit I felt more for villain redemption stories! And if I’m reading contemporary/thriller, I prefer books that set during summer but if I’m reading retellings, I always love the winter atmosphere!
Fantastic post, Cait!
Oohoohoo this was much difficult. But I loooove long books because they can get so deep into the world and characters. And I would rather read a long series with repetitive plots them have it never be finished because I NEED ANSWERS DANG IT. Also I’m pretty proud that I didn’t cheat and just skip the ones I found too difficult to choose. 😌
Most crazily, ~Olive
This was really fun! I enjoyed answering the questions.. 😁
A lot of these were pretty hard to decide on! Some were super easy, like reading one book at a time or many. I am a one at a time gal 100% ha ha!
Oof, this was difficult. Easiest question was definitely enemies-to-lovers vs friends-to-lovers because, come on, enemies-to-lovers all the way.
Cait, i am 99.73% sure that you’re evil… these were so hard!! (i mean, some of them were ok, like enemies to lovers i will choose over any type of trope… also villain to hero! yas! i am here for that redemption arc!)
but can i change my answers for the unfinished trilogy (i mean, i’m still waiting on Isobelle Carmody to finish the Legendsong trilogy, so i know that pain), but also *screams into abyss*…
also, 600 vs 200 pages?! but… if they write 200 can they we get more duologies???? halp me!!
finally, i am still not convinced i voted correctly for the hyped vs never heard of… what… i just… nope.
The book slump no time one really messed with me 😂
Both of them Are horrible! But good job on this quiz cait !!
I actually didn’t have as difficult a time as I expected with these polls! I think it’s because I had a warm up round on Instagram first. I think the easiest one for me to answer by far was the summer or winter setting. I am a summer girl all the way through and I absolutely hate dreary, cold, gray settings. The one question that pained me to answer was the one where I had to choose about if I hated my favorite book (upon reread) or a friend did. The thought of *anyone* hating my favorite book (myself included) is a cruel and unusual suggestion!
Okay but the first question was so hard to answer because I DO sometimes start books while in the middle of other books, but I never read them at the same time. I always devour one and forget about the other for approximately three months, so it doesn’t really count?? 😂
Wow Cait some of these are BRUTAL. Because i want that last trilogy book but… I also don’t want the series to get boring! I feel like I am okay with the one new book because I already have too many books hahah. (Wait- is that a real thing? Probably not, sorry.) These polls are VERY close in many cases too, some of them are surprising! Like who are all these people who want the 600 page books, I need to have a word.
I think the last one was the hardest to answer cuz I’m in a slump right now, but I also DO want to read and am having a hard time finding time to.But when I have find time to I kind of don’t want to…so I end up just doing something else anyway? So I’m kind of having both options happen to me simultaneously which is just NOT FAIR! XD
I love this so much! I’m a one-book at a time kind of person always, I would rather focus on my one story at a time haha.AND PAPERBACKS! I’m glad to see they’re almost equally as appreciated a hardbacks. They’re SO much more practical, I love my paperbacks haha.
THIS was such a hard to do but very fun post, too, ahh i love it 🙂
Ah, Cait, WHY WOULD YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE!? 🙈 Some of these were honestly so difficult to choose between! I was especially torn on the page length and “trilogy that never gets the final book OR long series but each book’s plot is very similar” questions!
Most of these were so difficult to choose! I think I mostly went with the unpopular choices 😉
OH MY GOSH THIS WAS SO HARD I NEED COFFEE AND A CUPCAKE, STAT!!! It’s what I deserve!! All of these were difficult but I think that the hardest one was the one about villains becoming heroes or heroes becoming villains JUST BECAUSE I love both a lot and the way that either can be developed when developed right. I LOVE CHARACTER GROWTH.
Weirdly enough the hardest one for me was the pg count one 😂😂 Most books I read are around 400 so picking shorter or longer was impossible!
This was so hard! But also revealing..I did not match with the majority on so many answers!!
Great questions, very brutal 😄
I totally would take one new book each month! I would hate to have damaged books. I like my books looking new.

I have like maybe 2 answers where I wanted to change my answer/have more choice 😃 I uhm chose for every book to be 600 pages because I like to torture myself. And of course we have to have multiple reads – am currently reading 5 at the same time – like what is life and what is time?
I chose multiple povs, because even if I mostly read one pov books, I really like multiple pov books? You get more than one side of the story, another character’s voice.
