What’s that overexcited puddle in the corner? OH, THAT WOULD BE ME.
This is because so. much. happened in September I don’t even know where to START. Actually I totally know where to start, with the important thing: I ATE THE MOST DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS IN IT AND —
Oh wait wait wait. That wasn’t supposed to be the first thing I mentioned. I mean, it is worth saying because deliciousness. But we should actually focus on things like, um, blogging and books since I do pretend to be a book blog. (When we all know I’m half a cup away from being a foodie blog.)
But anyway. The excited (BOOK) facts of the month are:
- I read some excellent books and I AM SO PLEASED.
- I also wrote a book and AM ALSO PLEASED ABOUT THAT.
- I took a hiatus, hence my blog has been a little quiet.
- I interacted with not one, not even two, but instead — TWO AND A HALF — famous people on twitter and it made me monstrously happy and also a total flailing wreck. GOOD TIMES.
- Also…CROOKED KINGDOM!! CROOKED KINGDOM!!! CROOKED KINGDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So let’s get on with this post of gloriousness, shall we? All lifey news about me (the important stuff, obviously) is at the end. And YES. This post will be long. My recaps always are. But they’re (A) so fun to write, and (B) I apparently just can’t shut up. I appreciate so so much everyone who takes the to read/comment. YOU’RE MY FAVOURITE. Honest. I squeak most happily at every comment, you don’t even know. I’m an excitable puddle when it comes to blogging.
Now let’s get this party started!
BOUGHT WITH MY DRAGON COINS
(Except for Crooked Kingdom which is a review-copy but it wanted to be next to its friend Nevernight because BIRDS OF A FEATHER STICK TOGETHER!)
- NEVERNIGHT: Because hype, yes? (So so so soooo much hype.) I’ve heard it’s very dark and stabby which is just the kind of story I like.
- CROOKED KINGDOM: Like I mentioned, ahem, this is a review-copy. (Thank you Hachette!) BUT LOOK AT IT’S GORGEOUS MARVELLOUSNESS IN MY HANDS. It was wonderful. It was glorious. i WILL RAVE FOREVER AND YOU CAN’T SHUT ME UP. ★★★★★
- STEELHEART: So unfun story — I ordered this online and it shows up with the WRONG COVER. I wanted this cover very specifically. But turns out the site had the wrong ISBN number show and gargh gargh. WHATEVER. I love this story muchly. ★★★★★
- THE UNBOUND: Gotta grow my VE Schwab collection obviously.
- THE REPLACEMENT: Now for an actually fun story. I wanted to read this because it’s written by the critique partner of Maggie Stiefvater (aka my favourite author ever). SO LIKE I HAD TO READ THIS. Plus I got it for $3 at a secondhand store. Which helps me get through the trauma of its horrendous cover. Nunnnngh. I’m apparently having a cover crisis this week.
- AN ABUNDANCE OF KATHERINES: I scored this for 50 cents at my library sale. Was I going to say no? OF COURSE NOT. It’s not my favourite John Green but I still like it! ★★★★✩
REVIEW COPIES AND LIBRARY HAUL
(thanks to Scholastic, Bloomsbury, Allen & Unwin, and Penguin Australia for the review copies)
My library bought a TON of new books and I may or may not have 16 other reserves…I regret everything and nothing all at once.
- [library] THE LOVE THAT SPLIT THE WORLD: There is controversy around this? I DON’T KNOW WHY. BUT I WANT TO READ IT!
- [library] SWORD AND VERSE: This was like 80% kissing and 20% stabbing but yet I still liked it?!? (Weird.) The ship was adorable, though, and so many scarred tragic brave rebels. <33 ★★★★✩
- [library] ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES: So dramatic. SO DIRE. Ahem. This is like a magical realism about a magical villainous family. It wasn’t bad…but the protagonist needed to be smacked in the face with a potato. ★★★✩✩
- [library] ODD AND THE FROST GIANTS: Because everyone needs to read all the Neil Gaiman obviously. ★★★✩✩
- [library] THE GLASS ARROW: I kind of hated the author’s first book but pffft. I am all for multiple tries! Plus ARROWS. Love ’em.
- THE CALL: I have noooo clue what it’s about but thanks Scholastic! (I mean, I could read the blurb, but who has time for that?)
- SILVER IN THE BLOOD: A Dracula retelling, woooo! I appreciate that fact even if I didn’t adore the book #mybad Thankyou to Bloomsbury! ★★✩✩✩
- SWARM (Zeroes #2): I wasn’t a fan of Zeroes at all…but I got this surprise-review-copy so will I read it? OF COURSE. Thanks Allen & Unwin!
- HOLDING UP THE UNIVERSE: afkjdalsd I’m so happy this is in my hands I CANNOT EVEN. This is one of my highly anticipated books of the year! Whyyyy haven’t I read it yet? I don’t know. Am I ready to be DESTROYED??? (We’re talking about the author of All The Bright Places here, peoples.)

I N T R I G U I N G S E A R C H E S:
- “lunar chronicles skulduggery pleasant fanfic” — Wait. What.
- “personal response to sword of summer” — I do like to get very very personal in my reviews so I can, with great confidence say: IT WAS FREAKISHLY AMAZING GO READ IT THESE ARE MY PERSONAL EMOTIONS.
- “can you go crexy from reading too much info?” — yes, absolutely. Particularly if the info is about who truly invented cake. Woah that’s a rabbit hole you can go down forever. Not that I, ahem, would know of course…
- “my name is bruce bogtrotter, and i am a werewolf” — Now that is a direction I didn’t think Roald Dahl would go. But who am I to put people in a box? Go! Be free! Chocolate cake loving werewolf! (Also…wut.)
- “you should have loved her” — a phrase I often weep to my WiFi when it’s being slow and I think that’s due to lack of voiced affection. I take her too much for granted, precious WiFi. </3
- “why do young adult books always revolve around a love interest” — what else are they supposed to revolve around?? SHEESH, DON’T BE UNREASONABLE.
- “dislike shippy stuff” — this is very vague, my friend, but that’s okay because I often dislike shippy stuff too. Too much sailing, not enough forcing people to walk the plank. ARR ME HEARTIES.
- “i am a paper fury minion” — I LOVE THAT SOMEONE GOOGLED THIS BASICALLY. We need it on a tee-shirt.
- “cait, ruller of the world” — you know what’s up. I mean, apart from how to spell ruler but that’s okay. I ACCEPT YOU ANYWAY.
- “i can’t get passionate about my novel” — try tipping it in passionfruit. If it doesn’t work at least you will have delicious fruit to lick off your computer and also a messy experience to write about.
- “my character as the eighth sibling” — dude, being the 5th in a family is bad enough. You put chocolate in the fridge, it gets taken. I can’t imagine what being eight would be like??? You’d never get any chocolate in the first place???
- “fury” — hello. Tis I.
- “what happens when read too much and not sleeping too much” — your eyeballs fall out. But don’t be weak. It’s only a flesh wound.
- “cassandra clare is only in it for the money” — OMG DO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME SHE’S TRYING TO MAKE A CAREER OUT OF WRITING??? So she can eat and pay rent and live a nice life??? Like an engineer would or an architect or a teacher? DISGUSTING. How dare she. Writers should starve.
- “girls hate epic fantasy” — Now I don’t mean to be rude but: you, fiend, are a distasteful morsel of uneducated stupidity. Good day.
Do you have a #WritersLife mug ready for NaNoWriMo??
Because you need one from my Society6 Store. Just sayin’. It will help motivate you to write all the words. In fact you should buy one for a pre-reward and then one for an after-reward and it’s guaranteed to make your life 1000% better. (PS. These are available as pillows, tote bags, and laptop cases too.)

- Jennifer E. Smith’s next book, Windfall, is coming in 2017!
- Rainbow Rowell wants to write a sequel to Carry On. CAN WE HEAR A YES PLEASE!
- What’s happening with Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor since it did not come out this month as was promised. [CUE SOBBING] Well, Laini explains here.
- Disney is turning Rick Riordan’s mythology-retelling-style into a…franchise. So there will be dozens of authors writing in the Percy Jackson style/series (although not using Percy Jackson, I believe he’s still Riordan’s). YEAH DON’T KNOW HOW TO FEEL ABOUT THIS.
- Maggie Stiefvater does a post on writing people who are very different to you.
- Oh and Maggie Stiefvater also clarifies things about the Ronan-centred trilogy that she announced on twiter. (afdjkalsfdjalkdad)
- Jenny Han talks about why she wrote the 3rd Lara Jean book in secret. (I haven’t read this article because I’m waiting on book 2. But I’m sharing because I’M SO IN LOVE WITH THE FIRST BOOK I CAN’T EVEN.)
- Sara Raasch gives more info on her upcoming pirate series. SQUEEEEEEEE.
I N T E R N E T N E W S
- Take a look at the cast for the Wrinkle In Time Movie! (How did I not even know this was happening?!??)
- The Divergent cast says “NOPE” to the potential TV series…because, like, they get it — this franchise is dead. Time to be Elsa and let it goooooo.
- Here are some set photos of the Everything Everything movie starring Amandla Stenberg.
- Amandla Stenberg is now signed to the movie production of The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken! So apparently there is only ONE actor in Hollywood at the moment… (Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s awesome although I’ve only seen her as Rue. But seriously???? She’s in like THREE YA adaptions now. I got annoyed when they did this with Shailene Woodley too. Grr. Give more up-and-coming talented actors a chance too!!)
- You 10000% NEED to go watch this Aussie TV ad on diversity. And food. It’s hilarious and perfect.
- Hulu is adapting Throne of Glass into a TV series.
- The Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda movie has a DIRECTOR.

- Aimee @ To The Barricade talks about the details in writing and how they’re important, dude.
- The Paperback Blog interviewed meeeeee, which is a stunningly interesting topic OF COURSE.
- Kristen @ She’s Novel talks about fast drafting which is a wonderful post because I fast draft too. WOOOT!
W A T C H
I feel really bad for John Green and all the pressure he’s under. He’s such a good author AND a good person and needs PROTECTING. Not hating on. The end.
- CROOKED KINGDOM RELEASED AND IT WAS MAGNIFICENT AND I AM SO HAPPY I CANNOT EVEN. I’ve had a fair few highly anticipated books fall flatter than a pancake run over by a water buffalo. But this?!? Ohhhhh, it was so so so so good. I’ll never stop flailing. NEVER. This cements the duology as my all-time-top-favourite-books-ever. I just … afjdklsadjakdl.
- Okay okay so FAMOUS people talked to me this month. Just so you know that now I’m like totally famous by association. Firstly Anna Banks (author of the Of Poseidon trilogy and upcoming Nemesis) retweeted me.
- And theeeeen I tweeted a snippet of my book and MEGAN JACOBSON (Aussie author of Yellow) said she loved my writing. LIKE I CAN’T EVEN.
- Also Buzzfeed shared my tweet ON THEIR ACTUAL BLOG. Which means my little puny tweet ended up with 1.1K favourites. And I just. I just. I JUST AFJDSKALDJAF AGAIN.
- And Penguin Random House retweeted me. SO. #famous
- Oh and Jodi Meadows. Did I mention her yet? NYT bestselling author….
- IS MY TWITTER ON POINT THIS MONTH OR WHAAAAAT?!? (This is the part where I get an insane attack of nerves and tweet stupid stuff. Thanks, brain.)
- And lastly (I PROMISE IT’S THE LAST) Dawn Kurtagich commented on my instagram! I didn’t even knooooow I was followed by authors, honestly. I haven’t read her book, The Dead House, yet, but I hear it’s AMAZING and also…she’s repped by the same agent as me. HAHHA. WE’RE LIKE SISTERS BASICALLY. (That makes no sense at all but shhh.) (And no, I’m pretty sure she doesn’t know who I am.) But still. I fangirl.
- And FYI I have two eyes.
- Instagram was very pleased to find this out.
- Okay so I’m officially exhausted. And will be socialising never again to recover. Just kidding hahhahaha. This is marvellous. I generally avoid talking to authors because how do I word. But I will be here being a sporadically psychotic fangirl if they reteweet me.
- Anyway. WHERE WAS I? Oh yeah. I wrote a book. You can catch up on all the glorious details (and snippets) over here. But basically it was 130,000 words in 6 days which is my best time yet and also nope nopity no I don’t want to edit this. I’m going to put it in a very dark cupboard and see if it edits itself. #sensible
- So now I’m just here. Stuck. Not sure what to write for NaNoWriMo. I have 934839 ideas. How do I choose between them???? Do I put them all in a small arena and let the fight to the death? Do I flip a coin? Do I go alphabetically? DO I JUST SCREAM??? It’s a quandary. I’m half a mind to write a post and let you all vote.
- So I’m plotting out a pirate book while I flounder about. Because obviously I need more ideas. It will be a Davy Jones retelling with heists, oceans, mostly-dead-people, and epic pirate ships. AND IT’S SOUNDING SO COOL I CANNOT EVEN. (Go view my pinterest board, fiends.)
- Also my puppy turns two this week. And you better believe I bought him a present and have been coaching him on appropriate behaviours for birthdays. That is (A) please do not bite the hand that gives you a liver “cupcake”; and (B) sit nicely while you get a haircut; and (C) don’t rip apart your toys ALL AT ONCE. (He’s a chronic toy-destroyer.) So far he’s getting up super early and is very excited. And by “excited” I mean he has 0% of a clue what I’m talking about. But whatever. MY LITTLE BABY DONE GROW’D UP.
WOW!
That’s a lot of updates
Famous people, great book blogs, book hauls!! All so excting 😀
It is a bit, isn’t it?😂 I CAN’T HELP IT. TOO MUCH TO SAY. Thanks so much for reading though!
At least your hiatus was official. I’m back at uni and everything’s been insane for the past couple of weeks so postings become a little…irregular. The best book I read this month was definitely The Dead House. 🙂
AHHHH That’s awesome about the Dead House!! I’m going to read that this month. I AM JUST GOING TO.😂 (Lies. I’ll probably get swallowed by library books haha. ahem.) But aw, I hope uni goes well for you! I totally get that it’d be very consuming *nods* and anyone who can balance any sort of blogging + uni is amazing in my opinion.
Wow! You’re so famous!!! Congrats. XD Ahhh I need Crooked Kingdom! Again I will complain about international shipping and how it’s so slow…I always have to wait so long to read new releases.
My September was pretty hectic. I didn’t get to fit in as much writing as I would have liked (darn school) but I did get inspired on how to improve the novel I’m editing right now, so that was great! 😀
Oh, and as usual your photos are so beautiful <3
Hehe, thank you, Melissa.😂 I’m such a dork. BUT IT WAS A FUN MONTH THAT’S FOR SURE. Ugh but shipping is the wooooorst. I honestly hate it when I love a series SO SO much and want it the instant its released because just. not. possible. Ever.😂 Luckily I got sent Crooked Kingdom pre-release so I could read it the second it was out. But generally iT’S LIKE WAITING ANOTHER 90 YEARS OMG. We international people need an award for our patience.
Oh oh inspiration is AMAZING and I’m so glad you’re inspired about your edits!!
We have to do our monthly wrap up pot today as well and get our review of Crooked Kingdom up. We also have assignments for school to do too…
First days of a month seem very busy😅
As usual this post was great and it didn’t feel long because you’re smart as split up all the lovely words with graphics and pictures and other things for us to focus our mind on.
Go you.
Definitely go you on all the famous people interaction! Bonafide success story right there🙌🙌
Also we were going to leave a link to our review of Holding Up The Universe because you’re so excited to read it! It turns out that’s not going to happen so Stealing Snow it is😂
I need to get my review of Crooked Kingdom up too! Considering I CAN NEVER FLAIL TOO MUCH ABOUT IT.😂 hehe. And YES beginnings of months are usually so busy right?! Or for me, also, it’s the end of the month because I realise all the stuff I haven’t done yet. #fail hehe
Aww, thank you!! I’m really glad it’s not TOO overwhelmingly long. Like I try to trim stuff but BAHHHH. Never works. I just have too much to wrap up hehe.
I’ll definitely read your Stealing Snow review! I’m kind of avoiding reviews on Holding Up the Universe until I’ve read it. BECAUSE I’M TERRIFIED. haha.
It’s October! (I celebrated this by taking a 3 hour exam this morning. Go me.) And it’s 3 days until my birthday! (Shanti and I are going away to different places and we’ve never had a birthday without each other so *cries*) And I need to pack! And schedule blog posts! Aaaaaa! ~~~~~
You liked To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before??? Me too. Like Lara Jean is so normal and doesn’t go out much and doesn’t need a zillion friends and it’s so cute. And also the food= I want to live in her house. An Abundance of Katherines just… wasn’t stellar. It’s kind of funny but a bit dumb/crass? Paper Towns is my favourite. And feeling all that writerly pressure = don’t just assume writing is easy just because you’re successful?
Anyway, this was a fabulous roundup. I actually like long post when they have good content 🙂
Oh good luck with that exam!! *sends you encouraging chocolate* I feel like everyone is doing exams at the moment?!? YOU ARE ALL INSANELY TALENTED CREATURES! I BELIEVE IN YOU! GO SHAR! *flops in exhaustion just thinking about exams* 😂 But aw, that’s sad you and Shanti will be apart. :'( But still, happy-nearly-birthday! You basically share a birthday with my dog. Isn’t that lovely? :’)
YESSSSS TO ALL THE BOYS IS LIKE ONE OF MY NEW FAVOURITE BOOKS. <3 I honestly didn't expect to love it as much as I did but adfjksalfdad I adored it. So much food. I want to be her best friend and eat all her food.
And YES. I think sometimes we readers forget that the more we love a book the more pressure it puts on the author.😂 I mean, it's a good and bad thing, being famous like John Green is, I suppose. I do hope he can go back to writing again!
Aw, thank you. <3 I feel guilty for making them so long. BUT I CAN'T HELP IT.😂 I can never seem to trim these days!
OH OH CAIT YOU ARE FAMOUS. Well you always were. I mean the Nano struggle is real. And I also love pirate books, like there needs to be more of them. On good reads, everyone is reading Crooked Kingdom and/or Six of Crows. I want to finish the Grisha trilogy first and I am now on siege and storm. WE ARE GETTING THERE. Also I am mildly obsessed (emphasis on mildly) with Shadowhunters right now so that has my heart.❤️ In September, my exams got over like a week ago so I rest and sleep all day (priorities) besides going to school.
Yesss the universe needs more pirate oboks so I’m basically here to fill a need *nods* But shhh, don’t encourage me. 😂 I should be writing one of the books I’ve had plotted out for ages haha. AHEM. OH OH I’m glad you’re reading the Grisha books!! They are all so amazing. 😍 I love the Six of Crows duology better though, but still. EVERYTHING IS GORGEOUS IN THAT WORLD.
Oh is that the Shadowhunter show you’re referring too? I need to see that! I loooove the books.
YAY FOR SLEEPING AND RESTING AFTER EXAMS!! And chocolate right? *sends you congratulatory chocolate*
As always, your post brought a smile to my face. I am currently on page 276/388 of Holding Up the Universe. I loved it, and there has not been any ATBP type heartbreak (yet!). I asked Niven to give me a sad rating on a scale of 1 to All the Bright Places, and she told me 7. So, maybe the heartbreak is coming? Enjoy all your awesome books and your Twitter fame. =)
OHhh that is SUCH good news phew. 😂 I mean, I’m ready to have my heart broken, but also….will I ever be ready?! All the Bright Places = 💔😭
Omg but it’s still a 7?!? THAT’S STILL KIND OF HIGH. Good luck!! Tell me what you think when you’re finished, eep!? (And omg I’m really glad my post made you smile. :’)
Those intriguing searches just get more and more stranger each time – people have very interesting queries. Ahhh you’ve acquired some awesome books this month and such an interesting month. Basically famous right??? I’ve had a pretty good reading month considering my irregular exams (that are still continuing 😭) but I’ve been on a semi-hiatus on my blog and surprisingly gotten more views than usual 🤔. Also, I neeeeeed your book Cait!!!
I know right?!??😂 I can’t believe half this stuff leads to my blog! Like seriously someone googled “Fury” and found me? LIFE IS WEIRD. hhaha ahem.
Oh I’m totally famous now. *nods* People will start stopping me in the street for my autograph presently. #legit Awk but good luck to you with exams!! I HOPE THEY GO WELL!! *sends you encouraging chocolate*
Sounds like you had a great month!!! I love all your blog posts!
OMG THANK YOU! 😊 And it was definitely an excitingly productive month that’s for sure.😂
YOUR PUPPY IS ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! I’m so not surprised that you were featured on Buzzfeed, your tweets are so GAH utterly amazing and ahhhhh I love *squishes cheeks* The Cresswell Plot is one of my ABSOLUTE favourite books as well so yay! I just hate the Australian name change, The Cresswell Plot is PERFECT and ugh that other name disgusts me. SO I refuse to say it. XD. Have a good October Cait!
ISN’T HE JUST?!? ADORABLE AND EVIL. 😂 He only destroyed the toy I bought him for a present like…20mins after I gave it to him. *facepalm* The cute face LIES. Ahem. I’m just kidding. He’s my little adorable precious. <3
Omgggg I'm so glad you love the Cresswell Plot too!! I CAN'T GET OVER HOW OBSESSED I AM WITH IT. I absolutely hate the Australian name too. And the cover. EWWWW. It's so generic and awful. I want to buy it, but I am 100% buying the GOOD cove rand title. Because obviously. *flips hair*
Wow so many good things happened during September! Once again, congrats Cait! 😊✨🎉🎉 I took hiatus on blog and Reading for a while. I only read 6 books on September, less two books than usual. My best reading is The Girl on Paper by Guillaume Musso. It is magical and good surprise for me 🙂
Oh I hope you’ve had a good hiatus too, Hana!! It was actually a huge race to squeeze in reading amongst the writing and general busy-ness I was drowning in this September. 😂 But YAY that you read an incredible and magical book! THAT’S SO GOOD!
I was showing my sister your blog, and she wanted to click on your site and then she got reallyyyy excited because her best friend has one of your pillows!! It’s a small world.
Sounds like you had a great month!!!
OMG SERIOUSLY!?? THIS IS A SMALL UNIVERSE WE LIVE IN. 😂 And also that’s seriously awesome! I’ll just be over here flailing if you need me. *shrieks*
Awwwwwwww… Atticus! Thanks foir the two Maggie links. The controversy with The Love That Split the World is the author got a lot of Native American folklore wrong, the entire premise of the story is incorrect because you can’t adopt or even foster care NA children if they are 1/8th or more Native American unless you are tribally affiliated. Plus the author tried to validate what she wrote in the book by saying she was a tribally affiliated Native American, and it was found out she is not. CROOKED KINGDOIM! I have to get back to reading the Grishaverse books. I was so crushed that I was spoiled for Ruin and Rising the day after it published it took the wind out of my sales. Good luck with NaNo!
Ohhh, so that’s awkward about the author lying! I’ll probably do more googling about it once I finish the book. I’m like 20% through and I actually feel like it’s really boring. *hides* SO YEAH.😂 Hopefully it picks up soon though. Isn’t it going to be a movie too??
CROOKED KINGDOM IS EVERYTHING. *SHRIEKS*
Cait, I have a very serious question. With all the reading you do, and the working, and the tweeting and the living…. where do you find the time to discover all the news that you put inthese posts?! Because I find everything out from you. I do. And I’m a bookseller, I should know some of this stuff already. But no. Paper Fury is where I find out what’s going on in the bookish world. I’m starting to think you actually do have clones, or you actually do have dragon secretaries, or you did manage to train Atticus (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HIM BY THE WAY!) to do things for you because, otherwise, I don’t know where you find the time. You are SO BUSY! Perhaps Australia has more hours in it’s day than the UK does. I think that might be it.
And yaaaay for being so popular even authors and Buzzfeed know who you are! That’s pretty incredible, Cait! You really are famous, in book blogging terms. You’re pretty much Queen. *curtsies*
The Glass Arrow! I want The Glass Arrow! It sounds so awesome and feminist-y! I’m starting to think I need to stalk your goodreads page as much as I stalk your blog. I need your other reviews too. Holding Up the Universe is amazing! It’s not All the Bright Places, it’s a different book, but it’s still completely wonderful! I absolutely loved it! So excited to hear what you think! And about Nevernight! Again, more goodreads stalking is required.
You’ve had an awesome September, Cait! Hope October is just as good! 🙂
It is a very serious question *nods seriously* I JUST CONFESS TO HAVING CLONES. 😂 Haha. No I mean, I don’t even know?!? I get most of this off twitter! No no of course I don’t spend too much time there. 😉 But I’m glad it’s helpful! I really like catching up on all the bookish news myself, which is what inspired me to start collecting and sharing and shrieking about it. It’s actually my favourite.
Oh and yes Australia does actually have more hours. Or maybe just I do? Because WIZARD SKILLS.
Ohhh the Glass Arrow is feministic?! GOOD. I NEED MORE BOOKS LIKE THAT IN MY LIFE. *flails* And I’m actually really glad Holding Up the Universe is different to ATBB…because I mean, what book can live up to that anyway?! I just hope my expectations aren’t too high, hehh.
*waits impatiently for you to read Nevernight so we can discuss it*
I don’t think I have anything new to tell you. You already know all the things! Unless I forgot to tell you that I’m going to Broadway today? 🙂
I WILL!! I was just going to breeze through my contemporaries but the one I’m currently reading is about as interesting as a cereal box *cries* So it might yet be a while before I get to Nevernight. Evidently Crooked Kingdom DID win out.😂 I’m obsessed with my thieves.
YAY FOR BROADWAY THOUGH.
Hail, Majestic Cait!
My September went by slow and then FAST and then slooooow and the faster and then- it’s over?? How did THAT happen????
News…… hmmmm…… well, I’ve already told you about the story I am writing….. hum de dum… Well, my parents are going to Texas for this weekend so me and my five siblings (I have 10 siblings, but three of them are out of the house, and the youngest two went with my parents) are home alone!!!!!! ITS GONNA BE EPIC!!!!!!! We are going to watch movies ALL day long (well, almost), and I am going to get TONS of writing done, and I can now play my music as loud as I want!!!!!!! My older brother will probab.y play his music too, but thats okay because we like the same stuff! Mainly Audiomachine. I love their music.
I read Flora and Ulysses, which got me writing the story I am currently on and I LOVED IT!!!! It was such a cute book!!!! Also, I just finished The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency. IT WAS SO GOOD TOO!!!! I adore childrens books! I raid the JF section at the library, and may or may not get 11 books every time… at the LEAST. Yeah. Anyway 🙂
I DID eat cake!!!!!!!!!!! My grandmother made it! I actually don’t know what kind it was, BUT it had that coconuty frosting… oh why can I not think of what it is called????? Anyway. It was GOOD. I am starting to have a better appreciation of cake, now that I have been following your blog.
I AM A PAPER FURY MINION!!!! HAHA! SOMEBODY GIMME A T SHIRT LIKE THAT!!!!! Seriously, I would BUY THAT IN TWO SECONDS!!!!
Its funny, cuz I have emailed two authors, AND THEY EMAILED ME BACK!!!!!! I TOTALLY SCREAMED AND LAUGHED AND DIED OF TERROR AND AMAZINGNESS AT THAT MOMENT!!
The first was M. I. McAllister (like the best author EVER) and we are STILL in communication!! I even sent her a poem I wrote, and she LIKED IT!!!!
The second, was Nicholas Gannon, and I sent him a different poem of mine, though he hasnt replied yet. I mean, I told him I adored his book, and he thanked me and all that jazz, then I asked if I could send him something, and he said yes and I did. He is in the middle of writing another book, so he told me it would take a while to answer. Anyway. Oh! Actually, there was another one!
Henry Clark. I commented on his website on a book that I LOVED, and asked if there was going to be a sequel, and he basically said “well, I DID hint it in the book. Hint, hint. Spoilers!” Yeah, basically. Not exact wording. And ALL of them thanked me for taking the time to tell them how much I loved their book! I mean, what??? Yeah. I was scared to DEATH, but it worked out well in the end.
You know what is HILARIOUS??? On the picture of your twitter that you shared, there is a comment about your eyes by abi_pearson21. That is my oldest sister. FUNNY, RIGHT???? I saw that, and I was like “Whaaaaaa????? I gotta tell Cait!”
Anyway, it was lovely chatting with you! Btw, your puppy is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!! Like, I want to squeeze him and play with him and make him happy!!!!!! And I’m not a doggy person. Much.
~E
Woooow you have 10 siblings?! THAT IS AMAZING AND INTENSE.😂 I have only got 5 and 4 have left home, so it’s not truly that overwhelming around here anymore. (Except when the oldest returns with her 3 kids so…forget what I said. It’s overwhelming. BAHAHAH.) Ahem. But YAY For home alone time! I loooove being alone. It is my good time. :’) Ooh, I’m going to look up audiomachine now. 😀
ANY CAKE IS GOOD CAKE. I HIGHLY APPROVE. *flails* I feel like 98% of the reason I am on this planet is to talk about cake and make sure everyone is eating enough. #legit
DUDE YOU ARE TALKING TO ALL THE AUTHORS AND THAT IS AMAZING!! I ADMIRE YOUR COURAGE! I just freak out if they retweet me hahha and I barely ever talk back to them because NERVOUS PINEAPPLE RIGHT HERE. *shrieks* But that’s sooo cool that an author liked your poem. You’re famous by association now.
WAAAIT. WHAT. ABI IS YOUR SISTER?!??! OMGGGG. This is a really small world.😂 I follow Abi’s blog!!
Yes it is intense! But lots of fun and arguing and games and love all around.
Yes, listen to audiomachine! Their music is also intense and loud and really fun.
Cake is food for the mind and body. Without it, life has no sweetness.
Hahaha, oh i was scared. I was scared to death, but you know, the worst that can happen is they won’t answer! Or they will be grumpy crab apples. But that would be highly improbable. *sage nod*
Oh you do????? THAT IS HILARIOUS! Yep, Abi is my sister. And I was just thinking I should tell her about your FANTASTIC self. It IS a small world!!! How funny!
~E
Cait, I love all the searches. Every month I laugh out lout when I read them. #FuryBest
And I do love your eyebrows! You’re cute! I might have done some stalking… :’D < Forget about that! 😉
Anyway, september was hectic for me and it went by really fast? I haven't done much reading, because university fell on top of me and all those deadlines and schoolwork and ahhh. Well, you can imagine. No books for me, sadly. We'll see what October has in store!
I’M REALLY REALLY GLAD. *flails happily* Omg you lovely stalker.😂 I’m sure there are actual photos of me SOMEWHERE in the depth of this blog…but don’t get into the archives. IT’S EMBARRASSING HOW BAD MY BLOGGING USED TO BE. Ahem. Aaanyway. Oh so much busyness for you too then?! I hope school doesn’t crush you! *digs you out and feeds you cake*
This whole post was awesome. Congrats on the touch of fame 🙂 and 130000 words is amazing. My longest book has been 90000 but mine are ya romances so not really as long. Anyway, I always love your posts.
Ahhh THANK YOU, BROOKIE!! You are very kind. *gives you cake* And 90K is super long too!! GOOD ON YOU.😱😂 I admit I really prefer shorter books haha. My average is 60K and I like it down there….but I don’t know how I’m going to trim this beast. Maybe I’ll just ignore it and hope it fixes itself?!😂
Haha, I always crack up at the “internet searches” you post. Awesomeness. 😉 Also, HOW do you manage to read so much?? I feel good if I get 10 in a month!
Oh! Happy birthday to your puppy! He’s so very cute. <3
(It won't let me click the CommentLuv box…not sure if it is my computer or possibly the site, it was like that last time I commented too!)
I DON’T EVEN KNOW.😂 I know people who read 35+ books a month though!! Which makes me seem like a slow little grape, bahah. But I did read a lot of shorter books this month to squeeze them in around writing. 😉
Eeep, I don’t know what’s going on with the commentluv. 😱 I’d say “I’ll fix it” but I honestly have no idea about anything technical haha. Maybe it’ll fix itself? *fingers crossed*
Wow, this is a lot of information. I probably would have exploded if this much stuff happened to me in a month. First, your dog is the cutest thing ever. Second, it’s awesome that you got to talk to famous people. Third, congrats on writing a book. I still don’t know how you can write that much so quickly. It must be a superpower. 🙂
I AM exploded honestly. This is just my less-exploded ghost writing this. The afterlife is lovely, they have great wifi. *nods* Aaanyway. THANK YOU. It was a great month!😂 Very busy and exciting hahaha. But duuude, I write fast but I edit like a turtle bathing in peanut butter. So I’m hiding this 130K beast heheh.
CAIT! I’m so glad your book went well, 130k in 6 days is like … a lot of k … ~falls over backwards and dies~ But yeah just lock it up and see if it edits itself, what could go wrong??
The Riordan news is weird … not sure how I feel about that?? If I’m like I LOVE MAGIC AND I LOVE READING BOOKS ABOUT MAGIC AND I LOVE READING MAGGIE STIEFVATER’S BOOKS ABOUT MAGIC, WRITE SOME MORE ABOUT MAGIC PLZ MAGGIE that does not mean that a) she is responsible for writing EXACTLY WHAT I TELL HER or that b) she then has to “curate” every book about magic ever … And what if someone wants to write some mythology fiction but they don’t fit into the exact Percy-esque MG mould? Will Disney Hyperion then hunt them down with Neptune’s trident?? It is all very perturbing …
As ever I greatly enjoyed reading the searches, your responses all make me lol, I couldn’t even pick a favourite!
In my life … applying for uni, working in a Proper Job like a Proper Adult (lol), writing currently a lot of ROMANTIC ANGST as my characters run around and hit themselves in the face (metaphorically). So lots of fun! (Ha. Lots of broken hearts. Which is fun for writers …)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATTICUS, I die at his beauty! Also yes plz do a post about your ideas and let us vote!!!! Till then, fare thee well.
*falls over backwards and dies with you* I DON’T EVEN KNOW. I THINK MAYBE I SHALL JUST HOPE IT EDITS ITSELF?? Because if I edit this beast it’ll literally take me MONTHS AND MONTHS. *sobs* It took me 3 months to edit 60K hahah…oh dear.
And YES that’s exactly what I think about the Riordan situation. Like I don’t think anyone else will be using Percy Jackson…but like, won’t they just be using Riordan’s name to sell tons of books but they won’t necessarily be as good. And if he gets all caught up as editor/manager of that, he MIGHT WRITE LESS. *sobs*
Good on you for your adult job though! WOOOOO. MONEY FOR BOOKS! Or, well, money, for like adult living and responsible matters but whatever. Ahem. And writing romantic angst?! NOW THAT IS FUN.😂
CAIT. You beautiful cake-craving book dragon, you!
I was just scrolling along, laughing hysterically (because your humor gets me EVERY. DARN. TIME), and there was MY NAME. My blog post! She’s Novel! Lady, you are too, too kind. Thank you! *bows before your throne with an offering of cake, of course*
THANK YOU. I TAKE ALL ACCUSATION OF DRAGONHOOD VERY WELCOMELY. (I don’t even think “welcomely” is a word…is it? omg maybe it is!! SCORE.) Ahem. I’m really glad you think the post is funny though.😂 THAT MAKES MY DAY. So encouraging haha. Ahem. AND DUDE, YES OF COURSE I SHARE THE GREATEST POSTS. 😉
So many books! Yet again I’m super jealous that you were able to read that much AND write 130k! In six days, too! I had no clue about that whole Disney Percy Jackson thing though… it doesn’t sound all that great to me, to be honest. I’m halfway through Crooked kingdom right now and I’m SO mad because I read a super bad spoiler about the ending and ughhhhhh. I’m cursing myself forever about that one. Your puppy is just the cutest though. <3 Awww, I love puppies and dogs so much. It sounds like you had an amazing month though, and those author retweets/responses are pretty awesome. 😉
It was quite a squish to get my 20 books read though.😂 I fully admit to screaming and rush reading smaller books hahah. AHEM. I’m totally concerned that the Percy Jackson books will kind of lose their…personality? Like they’ll just become a bulk-written disaster. *sigh*
PUPPIES ARE ADORABLE. I still call him my smol baby son even if he’s 2. Pfft. HE WILL ALWAYS BE MY FLUFFY BABY. <3
Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo from the other siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide . . .
I feel like it’s been A MILLION AND ONE YEARS since I commented on your blog–and I apologize profusely, but Grad School Life got in the way. (Two nonfiction books per week. #goodtimes) No, really, though, I love school and I’m having a great semester. Just super busy.
YOUR PUPPY IS ADORABLE AND I WANT TO HUG HIM.
Also, congrats on your new book!!!! I’m experiencing severe fiction-writers-withdrawal currently because I have literally no time to work on my Holocaust/WW2 story (due to school), and I MISS MY PRECIOUS BABIES SO SO SO MUCH. But I did get 35000 words in over the summer before I had to call it quits. So I’m proud.
Also I’m working on mentally outlining a new novel about the American Civil War–basically, it’s about two girls living on the same plantation, one white and one African-American, who are really half-sisters but don’t know it. I’m a little scared because I’ve never tried writing about slavery before but . . . there’s always a first time, right? And the characters are awesome people and I feel like they deserve to get their story told, so I’m gonna just take the plunge and try it.
OH HI JESSICA. LONG TIME NO SEE!! (See? Talk?? Type? IDEK IGNORE ME. I’M A DELUDED MUSHROOM.) *gives you welcome back cake* But omg grad school!! That’s huge! CONGRATS. Less congrats on all the non fiction though…I would die hahah. Ahem.
My puppy would probably eat you if you tried to hug him BUT I WILL HUG HIM AND LIFE WILL BE GREAT. *nods*
ack, I hope you get some more writing done soon! Whyyy does life like to get in the way of our writing? SO RUDE OF IT. *stamps foot* But 35K over summer is AMAZING GO YOU!! And you write historical fiction? Which is amazing, btw. I just bow to all the skill and research that goes into HF. It’s mind blowing, hehe.
Thank you, thank you!! *gobbles up cake and looks around for more*
A WRINKLE IN TIME IS GOING TO BE A MOVIE????????
My day has been made.
SAME. AND ISN’T THAT CAST GORGEOUS?!? 😍
CROOKED KINGDOM AHHH. It can’t come fast enough into my grabby hands omg I feel so left out with all these people reading that. Also I’m currently avoiding twitter and tumblr like bucky avoiding cap because SPOILERS. I don’t know how to feel about Rick Riordan’s imprint, but I feel really bad for John Green omg 🙁 I don’t really like his books, but he’s such an amazing person and he looks so sad 🙁 September was pretty hectic and I struggled to find time to read, BUT I FINALLY STARTED WATCHING OUTLANDER after months and months of planning YAY. But again, it was a hectic month I only managed to watch 4 episodes in a month smh. Also Holding Up the Universe. I read All the Bright Places 2 months ago, and I haven’t fully recovered yet, so I definitely need more preparation before reading her next book xD
AJFDKLSAD I HOPE YOU GET TO READ CROOKED KINGDOM SOON!! *flails* And yes, omg it’s a bit scary on the internet these days what with trying to avoid spoilers and everything right? Yiiikes.
And yes, it is sad about John Green. 🙁 HE IS A PRECIOUS SOUL TO BE PROTECTED. He does so much good and I wish the internet was kinder, but yeah…it’s not. *smacks internet* Anyway. Maybe he still will write another book? I kind of feel like he also maybe won’t…
Oh I’ve HEARD about Outlander but not really looked into it much! So it’s really good?! I’m trying to watch Stranger Things but I have 2 episodes left so I’m procrastinating.😂
So I just started following your blog, but your posts crack me up sooooo much. Thank you. I appreciate it. And…I’LL BE YOUR MINION! I will accept payment in dragons, cake, and books. Given how much you mention them, I take it that’s the troops’ regular pay???
I would just like to say that the Replacement was AWESOME and Brenna Yovanoff’s books are AMAZING. But yes, that cover….shudder.
That is so amazing with the famous peoples! I would so freak out if I had to talk to famous peoples. And when I freak out, I get really weird, like super weird, so I have no doubt everyone but me would enjoy it because that’s how the internet rolls, isn’t it?
My TBR (sorry. “small angry ocean of unread books”) is so out of hand. I ran out of room on my shelves so now my dresser is threatening to break. IT’S NOT FAIR!!! I have, somehow, been catching up to it (in my dreams), but right now I am reading the Goblin Corps by Ari Marmell, and it. Is. Hilarious. Basically, it’s a classic epic fantasy told by the villains. And it’s a riot. There is stabbing, backstabbing, preparing to backstab, some very sensible kobald logic like “when going behind someone’s back, make sure not to do it in front of their face.” Sensible stuff. It does have some very crude humor, so if that’s not your thing, be warned. Overall, though, it’s gory and I can’t stop laughing. And the only romance I’ve encountered so far is between the undead Dark Lord and his semi-immortal-but-totally-crazy queen, who boss the protagonists around and send them to their deaths. So there’s that.
Congratulations on your book!!!! I dream of finishing a book someday. Or even just writing more than eight thousand words. Sigh. Maybe one day. I loved your snippets! Very funny.
OH OH HELLO LILY AND WELCOME!! *gives you welcome cake* And your comment just about mAKES MY DAY SO THANK YOU FOR THAT. 💕😊 Although, fair warning: the troops just get paid in cake. Because ya know, I’m not good at sharing my dragons. *flips hair majestically*
OH GOODIE. Because I haven’t read any of Brenna Yavanoff’s books yet, but like I 1000% love the style of things she writes so HERE I COME!! I wanted to buy the cool cover with the creeptastic pram + knives….but this one!? Ew. *winces* Still, who passes things up when they’re only $3, right?!😂
HAHA I totally just hit reply WITHOUT FINISHING REPLYING. *facepalm* I’m super talented, you should definitely stick around me and this blog. Ahem.
I think when TBR officially gets changed to Small Angry Ocean of Unread Books (SAOOUB?) the world will be much happy at the accuracy of the statement. *nods* I just kind of avoid eye contact with mine because IT’S UNREASONABLE. *cries* But duuude, Goblins Corps sounds AMAZING. I love villain stories!! 🎉 I’m not a HUGE fan of crude humour, but like the stabbing-ness still makes me wnat to read this mwahhahaha.
Reading your blog makes me smile every time. I love your enthusiasm. September was fast. School started again (I’m a teacher) so I’m full of tons of random, glorious stories of adolescent weirdness. I think over the summer I go a little stir crazy since I don’t have to deal with 100s of personalities in 1 day. (Sometimes in the same individual..lol) I’m reading Nameless by Lili St. Crow. It’s a new type of book for me and I’m not sure I “get it.” Maybe in my head I just expected something different? Oh well. I’ll probably get to finish it today and to start a new book.
I have not had cake lately, but my son’s birthday is the 4th and mine is the 13th so cake will be a frequent option.
Have a great day!
Ahhh thank you Jen!! That’s the most encouraging thing ever so THANK YOU. <3 And oh good luck with teaching and the start of the school year!! I'm laughing at the "hundreds of personalities sometimes in the same student" hehahahha. I mean, I'm not a teacher, but I babysit my preschooling nephew/nieces a lot and I swear, omg, those children...why have one mood when you can switch 90 into five seconds. Kids are great. And terrifying.😂
Good luck with Nameless!! I really get frustrated when I read books that I don't get. It's disappointing for sure. 🙈🙊
Ooh, MUCH upcoming cake!! DELICIOUS. *invites self over to eat it with you*
AAAAAHH YOU LOVED CROOKED KINGDOM I’M SO HAPPY AND I’M OFFICIALLY DYING FOR YOUR REVIEW EVEN THOUGH I PROBABLY SHOULDN’T READ IT UNTIL I READ THE BOOK AWK HELP I NEED. *flailing*
Also you are SO FAMOUS NICE.
AND YOU HAVE EYES. Which are actually really pretty and just I AM ALL THE EXCITE TO SEE YOUR FACE. (What even is wrong with us we are so obsessed with our queen like wut.)
Ahem.
Oh, and I have Odd and the Frost Giants! It’s like next on my list! O_O #booktwins
Also also, I only read THREE books in September, two of which don’t really count as BOOKS because they’re so tiny and I’m just a sobbing heap on the floor BECAUSE I NEED TO REEEEEAAD. But I had busyness and a 3-year blogoversary party and then I was on a roadtrip for a week, so #busy. Ahem.
YES LET US VOTE ON YOUR NANO. XD (But really, write whatever you want. *cough*) You’re a novel-writing MACHINE you amazing bean you!!
I LOVED READING ABOUT YOUR MONTH THESE POSTS ARE ALWAYS AWESOME.
(CROOKEDKINGDOMTHOUGH)
JFADKLASD I REALLY REALLY LOVED CROOKED KINGDOM JUST IN CASE IT WAS HARD TO TELL WITH ALL THIS SHRIEKING!!😂 I totally understand skipping the review until you’ve read it though. 😉 I mean, I didn’t leave spoilers, but I love going into highly anticipated books blind too!!
And YES. EYEBALLS. TWO OF THEM. I’m so special. And you all only want to see my face because I never show it.😂 It’s mind control honestly. Omg, the only reason everyone’s going to want to buy my book if I ever get published is so that you can all see an author photo HHAHHAH. Ahem.
Ohh book twins!! *hi fives*
Awk, I do understand the busyness though *nods* I was in SUCH a wild rush to meet my book reading goal for the month because I took so much time off to write. *flaps about* BUT OH 3 YEAR BLOGVERSARIES ARE AWESOME AND YAY FOR ROADTRIPS. and I will 100% make you all vote on my NaNo. And even if I don’t write what everyone votes for, at least it’ll help me still decide though, right?!?😂
i’M SO GLAD YOU LIKE THE POSTS, THANK YOU, KIND BEAN <3
LITERALLY MY LIBRARY IS BEING AN UNFAIR MONSTER AND WITHHOLDING CROOKED KINGDOM. I would just like to sit here and whine to the Internet because I DESERVE IT MORE than any other. Clearly.
Authors retweeting you? Buzzfeed mentioning you? All those hilarious searches? YOU ARE BLOGGING QUEEN. Just in case you didn’t know. 😉
HOW DARE YOUR LIBRARY BE A CRUEL BEAST. I SHALL COME GLARE AT IT ON YOUR BEHALF OBVIOUSLY.
*adjusts crown* Ohhh yes. Blogging Queen AM I. *flails* 😂
I am so so so excited about Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda being a movie. It’s such a good book and the author is just lovely!
Yay for awesome authors tweeting and retweeting and commenting you back. It’s very exciting, yes?!
Congrats on writing so much in such a short amount of time. I don’t know how you do it. I really need to focus on my own story ideas. I might unofficially try NaNoWriMo.
I so so agree about Simon Vs!! I’m so glad it’s getting tons of recognition! It’s funny and adorable AND has such a good message. *shrieks* I hope the movie is a super good one. :’) AND YES SO MUCH EXCITEMENT FOR THE TWEETING AND RETWEETING.😂
Ohh, I hope you do NaNo too! We can cheer each other on!!
YAAAS YOUR RECAPS ARE ALWAYS SO FABULOUS AND FUN TO READ. <3 and those search terms never fail to make me laugh out loud and flop all over my keyboard. ““lunar chronicles skulduggery pleasant fanfic”” << LIKE… LOLOLOL WHAT EVEN??? that's fabulous omg. How did I not know that Divergent was even considering being a TV series??? So are they still making a 4th film?? I AM CONFUSE. Because the Allegiant movie left me like "…wut" and I HAVE QUESTIONS, MOVIE PEOPLE. I HAVE QUESTIONS AND I NEED ANSWERS. *shakes fist at Hollywood*
EEEEEEEEEP I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU OMG YOU REALLY ARE FAMOUS!!! *showers you with confetti* HONESTLY THOUGH THAT IS SO COOL. The most famous thing that ever happened to me on Twitter is the woman who plays the voice of Siri follows me. And I'm like "why" :'''') BUT THAT'S FANTASTIC I GUESS. ahem. *loud coughing*
your puppy omg his fACE. IF I COULD FEEL THE HEART EYE EMOJI THAT IS THE FEELING I WOULD HAVE WHEN I LOOK AT YOUR DOG'S FACE. WOW. SO ADORABLE.
waht this pirate book. this pinterest board for this pirate book. WFHSAKDJLSA;L
GO WRITE IT RIGHT NOW
IT'S BEAUTIFUL I CAN ALREADY IMAGINE THE GLORY
GO GO GO
<33333
I want to know how Skulduggery Pleasant x Lunar Chronicles EVEN GOT ONTO MY BLOG?!? That’s not something I ever would’ve put together in like MY WILDEST DREAMS OMG.😂 Some people are weird. Ahem. And yeeeah, like apparently the first part of Allegiant bombed SO BAD they’re not even making the second part?? So weird. I’ve never heard of a franchise ditching before the finale before. They should’ve kept it to one movie, silly people.😂
*dances in confetti* I mean, like, I barely TALKED TO ANYONE for these “fame” moments but shhh. Let’s pretend I did *nods* whahhhhhhh SIRI FOLLOWS YOU?!? THAT’S EVEN MORE FAMOUS THAN ME. YOU WIN.
Pirates, Abbie. PIRATES. I’m so freaking excited and I just saw the next Pirates of the Caribbean trailer and I’M NOW EVEN MORE IN A PIRATE MOOD SOMEONE HELP ME BEFORE I ACCIDENTALLY WRITE A PIRATE BOOK FOR NANO.
OMGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!! AFDJAKTIFKIPWLBSFDTANKG I CANNOT EVEN FOR YOU RIGHT NOW!!!!!! I’m like freaking out over all THE FAME AND GLORY AND GENERAL AWESOMENESS that has swamped you this month. OMG SO MANY FAMOUS PEOPLE THAT IS SO BEYOND EPICALLY COOL AND AWESOME AND FANTASTIC AND APOCALYPTICALLY TREMENDOUSLY AMAZING WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I. Can’t. Stop. Freaking. OUT! I just want to stick the entire thesaurus for “awesome/fantastic/wonderful/cool” right in here to express my feelings because words. just. fail. I mean, you were famous before… But now all the other famous people are recognizing your amazing awesomeness and that you should be queen of the universe and ARE TRULY APPRECIATING LIFE FOR THE FIRST TIME now that they know about you. And I’m like fangirling over you as usual, just freak freakedy freaking out way more now because all those things are so cool as are you. AHHGGG. I’m dying.
Ohmygosh Cait, I want ALL YOUR MERCH and on tee shirts too. I’ll soon be a #broke writer bookworm potato here but small matter. ALL THE WOOOORRRRDDS. THE MERCH. THE TRUTH. I NEED THEM MY PRECIOUS!
I have a book-inspo-problem solution to propose: I think you should give up social media (including all my delightingful Cait tidbits on Twitter), all the books of ever (reading-wise), food (including cake and chocolate), and most of all SLEEP, and just LIVE AT YOUR COMPUTER AND WRITE FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! This works best for all really. Isn’t it great that I’m around to help with these solutions??? You should hire me as a royal adviser and I can plot behind your back to overthrow you while you slave away writing and all that haha. OOPS DID I JUST SPOIL MY EVIL PLAN?!?!
ANYWAY, in other news, I also always love reading every word you post on your blog. Like seriously. I get so sad when it’s only 1,000 words long, and super pumped when you say it’s super duper long and like 4,000 words long and I’m like “YASSSS!!! ALL LIFE AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES CAN WAIT. I MUST READ CAIT!!!!” True story. ❤️
OH GOOD BECAUSE I’M FREAKING OUT TOO SO LET’S JUST FREAK OUT TOGETHER AND MAKE IT A PARTY. *throws freaking out confetti in the air* And like I mean, most of these are just retweets so I DIDN’T HAVE TO REALLY DO ANYTHING buuuuuut. Still. #famous. 😂😂 I definitely should be going crown shopping soon and, idek, take over another planet in congratulations to myself? Sounds like a glorious plan.
Anyway: YOU ARE KIND. THANK YOU, KAT, PRECIOUS BEAN.
I’m soooo sorry I can’t do the tee-shirts on Society6. *cries* I can only make my designs on picmonkey, and it won’t let me make the backgrounds big enough. It’s TRUE TRAGEDY I KNOW.
oh you GENIUS. That is definitely the kind of solid life advice I need. BUT JUST DON’T ASK ME TO GIVE UP CAKE, BECAUSE THEN I WOULD DIE MOST LIKELY. Sleep? Pfft, totally can go. Except do you reeeally want me not to tweet? I shall need to tweet AND live in my computer write for the rest of eternity. GOOD PLAN. *nods* And there will be no “evil plots behind my back” omg. Didn’t you see that picture of my dog?? I’ll set his adorable viciousness on you. Be feared.
omg. I’m so glad you like the long posts!!😂 I feel so bad about how long the monthly recaps are BUT I CAN’T HELP IT I JUST CAN’T SHUT UP APPARENTLY.
First off, I’m jealous your shelves look awesome. I wish could own that many books (impossible as I live in 2 different countries now, kinda…my shelf will be split in two :/ ). Second, congrats on your tweets with the famous!! You totally deserve it, my queen 😀 Third, I kinda feel encouraged to try NaNoWriMo too. We’ll see how that goes in November I guess. Those mugs are gorgeous 😀 Fourth, I am not really a fan of John Green’s books but I adore his videos. I’ll definitely join his protection team. Fifth, your searches section might be one of my favorite things ever! Happy reading!! 😀
http://www.curious-daisy.com/book-haul/summer-book-haul/
But that’s soooo cool that you live in TWO COUNTRIES. *shrieks* I’ve only ever lived in one and briefly visited China at one point. :’) ANYWAY. I do so love my shelves *pets them* although they’re growing wildly out of control at this point haha. Ahem. OH OH I HOPE YOU DO NANO TOO!! *flails*
I’m glad you enjoy the searches.😂 They’re honestly my favourite thing to look up hhaha.
Your dog’s cuteness just about made my head explode.
I really need to try Six of Crows because everybody’s talking about the awesomeness of the second book and I’m afraid I’m going to get spoilered. (I read The Grisha trilogy, so I know the author can write. It’s just like all the other books in my TBR pile: I haven’t gotten around to it yet.)
I’ve said for the past few years I wanted to do NaNoWriMo. I tried once, but didn’t get far. I should’ve chosen a plot-bunny I felt more passionate about, I guess.
Saaaaame. Sweet little gorgeousness of CUTE EVIL. <3 He totally ripped apart his birthday present toy like 20mins after I gave it to him.😂 Ah, good times, Atticus.
Agh, that forever mountainous TBR, right?! I wish the internet wasn't so wild about spoilers though, because I feel like I have to read everything ASAP or else risk being spoiled. Which suuuucks.
Sometimes it's hard to like commit to writing a whole book in such a short period of time, especially if it's your first! I'm pretty sure it took me a year to write my first book.😂
ATTICUS IS SO CUTE *SQUEE*
AND OMG YOU HAVE EYES, CAIT!
Also, that is amazing how much you wrote in six days! Like, holy carp, how do you do it? Magic, I presume. And cake.
I actually did have cake this month because my dad’s birthday was a few days ago. It was chocolate with chocolate frosting and it was delicious. <3
My September was better than my August reading wise because I finished reading two novels, which is awesome compared to the three graphic novels I read last month. I read Empire of Storms and The Goal by Elle Kennedy, and both were really good in my opinion! I couldn't have asked for better reads. Annnnnd because I'm a maasive Maas fangirl (see what I did there?), I'm super excited for the TV show!
I'm going to admit: I've only read Shadow & Bone. So I'm a biiiiiit behind. But I'm very excited for them because I did enjoy the first one a lot, and I've heard Six of Crows is even better than the original trilogy, which is exciting!
I don't mind talking to authors on Twitter if I have something to say to them, or if I tag them when I post a review. Elle Kennedy even thanked me for doing the review I posted yesterday, which was super sweet!
Annnnnd yeah, no idea what to write for NaNo…. Maybe the one I started in Camp? I could do that. It involves a thief and a magician and evil queens and scary royal guards and romance. I mean, why not?
YES HE IS SUPER CUTE AND HE KNOWS IT. It helps him get away with basically everything.😂
YES I HAVE EYES. It’s these fabulous actual eyes of mine that help me write faster. I’m secretly a wizard, also, which is how I write so much. #legit And I’m VERY glad you’re eating cake because I feel like a month without cake would be a very dark and terrible month.
HAHAHA MAASSIVE. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE. I hear people saying “Maas Destruction” too which I find very amusing.😂
I honestly avoid authors as much as possible because I’M SUCH A SHY AWKWARD DORK.🙈🙊 I’m thinking of tagging Leigh Bardugo in my review of CK but I’ll see. Eeeeep. It’s like the more I adore an author the less I want to talk to them. I DON’T EVEN KNOW EITHER. I’M SO WEIRD.
Everything with thieves = glorious.
Oooooh, last month sounds interesting. I finished The Memory Book by Lara Avery (because you told me to). It was sooooo good! I need to read Crooked Kingdom still, oh and Nevernight. I have no idea what Nevernight is about, but I think that is how I want to go into it. Where do you find these intriguing searches? I also didn’t know about this wrinkle in time movie. I have never actually read a Wrinkle in Time, I read the graphic novel, but I don’t think its the same. I’ll have to put that on my TBR. School started this month for me. AAAHHHHHH! Now I don’t have the whole day to read and be on the internet. Just kidding that’s all I do,I’M HOME SCHOOLED. I do give my dog attention when she asks for it (which is a lot), and take her on plenty of walks, that’s something else. I have 2 more years of High School. So close. That picture of Atticus is so cute. What breed is he, and how old is he? Oh, and you reminded me of Swarm (Zeroes #2), I loved Zeroes. My favorite characters were Anon (everyone forgets him), and that one girl that can see through other peoples eyes but is blind . Also I agree with Megan Jacobson’s tweet 123454600000%.
AHHHH YOU READ A BOOK ON MY RECOMMENDATION?! *flails wildly* That just makes my day. 😂 I like now about 5% about Nevernight…assassins. THAT IS IT. 😂 Oh wait, assassins and it’s very dark <-- I'm super good at reading blurbs hahhaha #not. Ohhh, you haven't read A Wrinkle in Time?! It's a CLASSIC! I totally recommend it! I kind of want to re-read it because it's been years. Also it's a banned book so reading it right now is very timely. 😉 HOMESCHOOLING FTW THO. And pfft, I wish my dog would like walks. I mean, he does like afternoon walks but I had to quit taking him for morning walks because apparently he's not a morning dog. Like wut even. I didn't know dogs were allowed to have preferences like that. I LOVE ANON. He is literally the only reason I'm reading Swarm because Zeroes didn't really do anything for me.😂 N'aww. You leave the nicest comments. <3
Wow… just wow! I got excited when William Carlos Williams and Dr. Samuel Johnson retweeted my tweets wishing them happy birthdays. Oh and Jay Kristoff responded to one of my tweets about Nevernight awhile back, so that was cool too. But that’s A LOT of author interaction right there 🙂
And the John Green video was awesome, thanks for sharing! Funnily enough, An Abundance of Katherines is the only book of his that I haven’t read yet {I have a hold in for it at the library right now… I think I’m #7 in line}. I just finished Will Grayson, will grayson and I can’t decide if it’s my new favorite or if TFIOS still holds my #1 spot of his books.
An while I am a cat person, your puppy is pretty darn cute! I hope he has an amazing birthday!
AHHH THAT’S SO COOL YOU TALKED TO FAMOUS PEOPLE TOO *hi fives* We are now famous by association. #legit 😂 Ohh, I’m really glad you’re a fan of John Green too! I feel like it’s “trendy” to dislike his books? Which is weird. Ahem. But I love Will Grayson so much too…although TFIOS remains firmly my #1, with Looking for Alaska coming #2. APPARENTLY I JUST LIKE TO BE BROKEN BY BOOKS. *howls*
SHE’S BACKKKKKKK! YESSSSS!!!! Congrats on your book Cait! My manuscript suddenly exploded, so I understand the feeling! I’m so happy you read such great books!
YAAAS I COULDN’T STAY AWAY FOR LONG. *shrieks* And omg congrats on your manuscript exploding…I hope this is a good explosion? I love good explosions.😂
Loved this blog Cait! Even though I should be writing, and reading. And blogging. Oh and sleeping right now.
Thanks for Aussie diversity ad – I’m Aussie and hadn’t seen it yet. How’s that first-ism! Brilliant..
Now excuse me while I go check out Crooked Kingdom
Oh oh hello fellow Aussie! *COMMENCES AUSTRALIAN HI FIVE* And I saw that ad on facebook and omg I had to share. It’s perfect. It’s just what we keep shouting for in YA books! 🎉
Zommmg definitely please do become obsessed with the Grisha books. 😍YOUR LIFE WILL BE INFINITELY BETTER I PROMISE.
Let’s see:
My Septemeber/1st of October; I finally left a job that just wasn’t good for me anymore. I got it when my husband was out of work so I was then working two jobs and while it was nice at first, the commute, low pay, and stress of sales made me sick so now that that’s done, hopefully I’ll do better. I can concentrate on one job that’s fairly low key and my son.
Best read: Either The Raven Boys or Blackbird Fly. I think Blackbird Fly might edge out The Raven Boys by just a little because it had an awesome soundtrack going for it (literally, every chapter had a Beatles song as a subheading), but TRB was very good and I’m glad I finally got around to reading it. My favorite Raven boy is a tie between Adam and Noah and my favorite girl character is Persephone.
Why are all the YA books being made into movies: my answer to this is kind of cynical. It’s because they make so much money, so Hollywood is going to try and make as much money as possible while they still can. I agree with you about Amandla being cast in everything, though. I’m sure she’s great and will do a good job, but I hate it when one actress gets ALL the roles like Woodley did a couple years ago. It’s like the market is going to be over saturated with her soon and that’s not good.
Crooked Kingdom: I’m halfway to as excited as you, but only because I haven’t finished Six of Crows yet. I started the audiobook, but it got a little hard to follow so I think I’m going to switch back to the physical book and see if that helps. I did pick up Crooked Kingdom though and I love the poster on the dust jacket. 😀
Cake: OF COURSE! Who doesn’t eat cake?! I’m already trying to decide what kind to ask for for my birthday. One year it was a rainbow cake, then a chocolate cake with peppermint chocolate icing. Yum. <3
Authors & Twitter: It's easier to talk to authors on Twitter than it is in person. Something about being face to face with people makes me turn into a blubbering blob of nerves and I start stuttering like there's no tomorrow.
Nano: Still can't decide if I want to do it or not.
Question time for you! What is this about a controversy surrounding The Love That Split the World? I must have missed that one. Are you reading any books especially for Banned Books Week? I forget if that's an American thing or a world wide thing. I've got Illuminae on my bedside table as my "current" read, but I want to try and pick up a banned book. Maybe finally tackle Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret. It's been on my radar for ages, but I never got around to it. There are plenty to choose from, so I guess the real problem isn't so much finding one as it is narrowing down the options. It's sad the list is so long!
Also, what's your take on pie (since you like cake so much)?
Oh good for you for leaving the job that made you so unhappy! I hope everything works out financially still, though, for you!
OMGGGG YOU LIKED THE RAVEN BOYS!! YAYYYY. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS. *flails for 9000 years* That is only my most precious book ever. <3 And dude, I totally agree about the movies theory.😂 The real reason I'm annoyed at one actor getting all the rolls is: GRAPHICS!! COME ON PEOPLE!! I go on pinterest and I see Shailene Woodley in those "YA book hero" graphics TWICE! Because, you know, Tris and Hazel. It's just … it's kind of annoying?! I really really love that they're casting POC characters to lead movies though. That is so wonderful. But I'm sure there's a ton of amazing POC actresses out there too waiting for a break?! C'mon HOLLYWOOD. SHARE THE LEAD ROLLS. Plus you get kind of sick of things when it's only one actress. But at least Amandla is actually a teenager…I think. I should check haha.😂
Ohhh, you didn't like the SoC audio?! I LOVED IT!! I did my re-read with it and afjdkalfds it just made the book 10000 x better. I actually upped my rating thanks to the audio! BUT GOOD LUCK FINISHING IT AND THEN HAVING YOUR FEELS PUNCHED BY CROOKED KINGDOM. WOOOOOT!
I have no idea what the controversy around The Love that Split the World is, actually.😂 I think it's something to do with bad diversity representation?? I'm reading it right now, and it's kind of boring BUT STILL. I will persevere. 😂 And noooo, I'm not reading anything for banned books week so far. *sobs* I used to celebrate it, but I can't ever think of anything to do except rant against censorship, and we all agree on that here anyway, so I feel like I'm just preaching to the choir.😂 I did read The Diary of a Part Time Indian last month, which was banned though! WOOO. GO ME GETTING IN EARLY.
(Pie is glorious. It's only a fraction under cake in levels of extreme necessity to life.)
Important stuff first: I actually DID eat cake this month! And it was absolutely delicious, so I stole half of my friend’s. She yelled and made faces at me about friendship but #priorities.
I also reached 500 followers on my blog! I still check back the number everyday just to be sure lol
Also (irrelevant and useless info?) the number of pimples on my face has increased so much but hardly anyone sees my face because it’s hidden in a book so I’m not sure if I should be sad or happy about that
I broke up with my bf after three weeks of dating and maybe he just couldn’t handle the awesomeness that is me. Brownie points for actually liking me and trying though.
The tragic part is I can’t buy more books because my mom has imposed a book buying ban #mylifeisover #lemmegocrybye
OH GOOD. I think cake should definitely be everyone’s priority honestly. *nods* And pfft, what does your friend expect? It’s survival of the fittest when it comes to cake.
OMG CONGRATS ON YOUR 500!! THAT IS AMAZING!! YOU DESERVE EVEN MORE CONGRATULATORY CAKE!! 🎉🍰🎉🍰
And books do make good covering for pimples *nods* Total my entire teenagerdom life plan. Books also make great disguise if you’re, like, a wanted criminal or something. Just walk around with a book in front of your face! #win noooo that I’ve had to do that OF COURSE. But I sometimes try to hide behind a book when my 3yo niece is looking for me. Shh.
Aw, I’m sorry about your break up. 🙁
Cait, m’dear, you have given me a heart attack. I didn’t know about half of those movies and series coming out! I cannot even over the fact that we’re getting a Simon vs adaptation, SOMEONE HOLD ME. Also I’m extremely nervous for the Throne of Glass series and have heavy doubts, *quakes in boots*. And and and omg The Darkest Minds?! YAS. That book was life, I needed the movie like yesterday.
ALSO WHAT OMG ROWELL IS WRITING A SEQUEL?! MY PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED I NEED IT NOW.
Congrats on conquering your book! And you’ve got me very excited to read Crooked Kingdom. I’m taking so long to read EoS *frustrated stomping* If life could go away so I can read that’d be fantastic. I’m getting very excited to participate in NaNoWriMo however! Bring it 🎉🎉
THAT’S WHAT I’M HERE FOR. To give pleasant heartattacks. #youremostwelcome Well I’m not a fan of Throne of Glass bahhahaha, so I’m more excited about Simon Vs! And I haven’t read The Darkest Minds yet but I’m pretty excited for that too! 😀 I NEED TO GET READING.
I sooo hope you love Crooked Kingdom when you get to it! IT IS A BEAST OF LARGE SIZE TOO. Although it’ll be a breeze after EoS. Isn’t that over 600pages?! Phewf.😂 YAYYY THAT YOU’RE DOING NANO TOO! WOO!
Oh that is awesome that authors are talking to you, and BUZZFEED SHARED YOUR TWEET. How do you feel about coming so far since you first started blogging?
Also listening to the John Green video while typing this. I totally understand all the pressure he’s under! I feel like that if you have such a big book, you can never reach that point again. Like look at JK Rowling, I don’t think she’s ever going to write something as successful as HP again. And then there’s Suzanne Collins, who isn’t/hasn’t written another book since the end of the Hunger Games.
Anyways, have I mentioned that I am envious of your creative writing skills? I would love to make time to write, but I seem to be stuck writing research papers. Oh well!
Also fantastic book stack! Nevernight is amazing, and you should definitely read it 😀
I DON’T EVEN KNOW. I’M JUST FLAILING. WHAT IS THIS LIFE. *shrieks* 😂 I seriously didn’t think my blog would get past 100 followers. No joke! I actually thought that!!
And yes I totally agree about John Green/JK Rowling. Plus fandoms are so unforgiving. It’s all like “well it wasn’t as good as [insert their other book here]” and that must be awful pressure to be under. Especially when you’er really active with your fandom?! Like John Green was. (I mean, he’s not anymore…but his own followers drove him away and that’s super sad too.) I’m pretty sure Suzanne Collins is doing a Harper Lee…and like FAIR ENOUGH. Being an author is kind of scary I think.😂
I hope you get a chance to write someday! It’s 1000% worth all the agony.😂
I CAN’T WAIT FOR NEVERNIGHT!
Awww I didn’t know his own followers scared him away! Then again, I haven’t really been keeping up with him and his books, and the news surrounding that.
I only saw a TEENY TINY bit of what happened…but I think like his entire tumblr was blowing up with accusations that he’s a paedophile…because he hangs out with teens. I know. It’s disgusting really and people are horrible. 🙁 That plus (I think) mental illness made him take a breakish from being online so much??? I mean, I still see the videos and occasional tweets and stuff, bUT YEAH. That’s what I heard/saw a while back anyway.
Congrats on your book, Cait! That is so awesome! Also, your Instagram photos are incredible – so inspiring and detailed! I just started using Instagram you are one of my favorite book photographers!
I didn’t like The Silver and the Blood either, which was too bad because I really liked Jessica Day George’s other books… 🙁
Great post, and congrats again on your book! 🙂
Ahhh thank you, Candice!! *flails* YOU ARE SO KIND TO ME. <3 I really have fun with instagram hehe. 😂 And that was my first Jessica Day book, so maybe I should try something else by her? I was very underwhelmed, unfortunately. *cries*
So how long has it been since I last commented here? Like, fifty years? When I said I was taking a blogging hiatus, it wasn’t supposed to mean “stop commenting on my favorite blogs” but dang I guess that happened. Oops. Anywayyyy….
YESS CROOKED KINGDOM OMG. I am in the middle of it right now and it is keeping me from studying but I legit don’t care. That is what books are for, no?
Also I really think I need that CS Lewis quote mug but the family mug shelf is overflowing so my parentals might destroy me if I actually part with money to get YET ANOTHER. Hm. However, that laptop sleeve with the same design looks very very tempting. *ponders*
I realize I haven’t done ANY writing at all this month (other than a paper on anxiety disorder for my psychology class, which was interesting but not satisfactory for my noveling brain), and while reading your post got the Strongest Desire to somehow squeeze in some writing time. But aaaah studying and sleep seem to have taken over my life. Dangit. We shall see what happens with NaNo, because right now I have two rather non-traditional options: (1) Work on SlavicNovel because otherwise I probably won’t or (2) work here-and-there on a funny little vampire novella that’s bouncing around in my head but is probably not 50,000 words long (so no winning).
OH EXCITING THING. I am now an Instagram rep for a book box so that is cool 🙂 ALSO EXCITING: My sister made a super good apple cake today and we ate it for dinner. I thought you would appreciate that. 🙂
AND OOOHHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ATTICUS BEAN!!! *gives him a pile of liver cupcakes*
OH HI SOPHIA!! NICE TO SEE YOU AFTER 50 YEARS. 😂 Just kidding. Cake for you. ALL THE CAKE FOR YOU. (And PS I actually generally don’t comment on blogs when I take hiatuses either, so you’re not alone. 😉) I hope the studying is going well!
AFJDKSALFD CROOKED KINGDOM IS DESTROYING AND PERFECT. I LOVE IT SO MUCH MY HEART EXPLODES.
But duuuude, the CS Lewis quote calls to you, see? And when an inanimate object calls, one must respond. #legit
Ohhh, I do hope you squeeze in writing time at some point! I’m like still in writing mode, despite having just been writing for a week?! SO IDEK. APPARENTLY IT’S THE YEAR OF WRITING FOR ME. 😂 I hope you do NaNo!! Because Slavic novel yes. AND OMG YOU’RE A REP FOR A BOOK BOX?!?! THAT IS AMAZING!! I see those things go around and alway chicken out before applying.😂 I can’t wait to see your photos of it!! And I think your sister has a very good idea of what makes a delicious dinner. #winning
:O getting the wrong cover on books you order online is not at all nice. And I read a review copy of A Time To Rise by Nadine, brandes which most people have probably never heard of but I just love her books… even if there are only three at the moment but more are cooking. It officially releases this month though and I am just so excited. It is so cool when authors take notice of their fans, it can only possibly make us love them more.
It is absolutely the worst. I actually wouldn’t have bought it if I knew it’d come with that cover. *sobs* I actually have A Time To Rise copiously lately!! On instagram and on GR. I must follow a fair few fans of it.😂 And YES I love it when authors are super nice to their fans. I mean, just retweeting me had me flailing OUT OF MY MIND and it’s just so kind of them to do that. <3
Well I am glad that you had at least heard of A Time To Rise, because I really enjoyed that series, and Nadine is the nicest author ever, in my opinion anyway 🙂 She is not big enough yet that she can’t reply to everything her fans/friends ask her, which is awesome.
Aaaaah you deserve a bajillionnnn retweets because your twitter is ON FLEEK AF. (as is your instagram) You are already famous in my family, believe me! My sisters love it when I read them your blog posts, and cheered when you revealed your latest word count!
The Davy Jones retelling, diggin’ it.
And happy b-day to your puppy! He’s adorable~
OMGGG SERIOUSLY?!? I AM FLAILING RIGHT NOW, JAIMI. <3 Thank you!! This comment honestly makes my day. 💕
Ahhhh! I’m so excited to read Crooked Kingdom. And a sequel to Carry On? YES.
SIMON VS. IS GETTING A MOVIE? God is real; this is proof.
OH MY GOODNESS HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DOG! And I’d love to see a voting post on your NaNo ideas 🙂 the Davy Jones retelling sounds absolutely fabulous! I’ve been busy burying myself in new ideas this month as well – one is a contemporary fluffy f/f romance, and the other is a fairies vs. steampunk novella. I’m quite excited for both of them, especially the latter. I want to start writing it promptly, but I need to plot it first. *sigh*
Oh! I thought you would be interested to know – I’ve finally hopped on the Stiefvater train! I read The Raven Boys on impulse a couple weeks ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. However, I was also very befuddled – TRB contains so many tired stereotypes and cliches. Quirky female mc? Mysterious and enchanting rich boys, all of whom fall for her at some point (except the gay one)? Unrealistic adventures? Love squares? Prophecies involving soul mates? Check, check, check, and check. But it was somehow so well-written that those things didn’t really deter my enjoyment of the book? Idk, fam.
My grandmother made some buttermilk chocolate cake for tea last week – it may not sound good, but I promise you it was divine.
OH BUT I READ SO MANY LOVELY BOOKS THIS MONTH. Okay, I’ll narrow it down to my top three – Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur, The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud, and Prince Lestat by Anne Rice (also known as Marius and the Ten Thousand Love Triangles.)
Ellie | On the Other Side of Reality
CROOKED KINGDOM IS EVERYTHING AND MORE. I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT SO WE CAN FLAAAIAL TOGETHER. *shrieks from the rooftops*
And I will definitely try to do that post for NaNo voting!! Even if I don’t end up going with the vote, it’ll help me narrow it down, right?!? 😂 But omg your ideas sound GLORIOUS TOO. Steampunk faeries though?! Afjakdsld that is amazing. It’s hard being equally excited for novel ideas right?! Ahhhh. Life is hard.
OMG I’M SO SO HAPPY YOU’RE STIEFVATERING!! (Is Stiefvatering a thing?? I needs to be a thing.) And it’s interesting you thought those are cliches…because I didn’t think they were.😂 I mean, only Adam and Gansey both have a crush on Blue, so that’s only two people and they’re not fighting over her which is a relief. I also love quirky MCs. 😂 And Blue is an epic feminist and not a manic pixie dream girl SO I’M REALLY FOND OF THAT. But anyway! I’m super glad you’re enjoying some aspects of it as well. 🙂
Buttermilk cake sounds DELICIOUS. YUUUUUUM.
Omg I need to read Jonathan Stroud. You totally reminded me I have The Amulet of Smaarkand and Heroes of the Valley on my TBR. eeep!😂
CAIT I DIDN’T KNOW YOU HAD EYES???? WHAT???
(Actually I did because I watched the videos you made with Mime…#longtimefollower)
BUT OMG you’re so famous this months!! *basks in famous-by-association-ness*
So many things to talk about here. Like I’m definitely not okay with the Rick Riordan franchise thing. And I definitely think John Green is amazing and I feel sorry for him. GAH.
LONG TIME STALKER. <3 I APPRECIATE IT. (And c'mon you would've seen like me on facebook too, right?!😂) But ahem, yes. FAMEEEE. Just kidding.😂 I'm such a dork. Half the time I didn't even respond to the tweets because I'm like "WHAT DO I SAY WITHOUT SOUNDING LIKE A GRAPE?"
It is sad about John Green. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he didn't publish again...I can imagine all the haters would come out too. It's so sad that just because a book gets famous means people feel like they have the right to hate on authors. BUT ANYWAY. THAT'S A TANGENT FOR ANOTHER TIME. I'm super worried about the Riordan franchise. 😳 I hope he keeps writing...
Sword of Summer.
That’s all I have to say.
Just kidding I actually have lots to say!!
For example: OH MY SWEET RIORDAN WHAT A BEAUTIFUL THING YOU HAVE WRITTEN, I LITERALLY WILL EAT SOMEONE ALIVE IF THE 2ND BOOK DOES NOT COME OUT RIGHT NOW.
Oh and welcome back to your blooooooooooooooooooooog, it has been quiet without your sassynessness.
Simi
ALL OF THE RIORDAN BOOKS ARE GLORIOUS CREATIONS. *flails* I love Sword of Summer so much too!! And omg Thor’s Hammer is neeearly here!! *flails*
My Septmber was very hectic due to work responsibilities. But of course I had to find a time to read Crooked Kingdom as soon as it was released!!! And this book owned me ever since. I cant stop thinking about it and I dont feel like picking up any other book right now. It was everything I wanted (even though it broke my heart).
AHHHH I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKED CROOKED KINGDOM TOO!! I seriously had such a hangover afterwards. *weeps* I mean, I love good books and I also hate them because they totally ruin me for everything else. 😂 I’m just SO SO glad it didn’t disappoint!!! *tries to duct tape shattered heart back together*
Are you ignoring all of the cr*p that went down in the blogosphere/twittersphere/online bookish people community this month? Or did you not notice it? (It’s probably the latter b/c I mean, you were busy with all the writing and the cake, ofc!)
AND OF COURSE FAMOUS PEOPLE LOVE YOU CAIT – YOU ARE THE QUEEN OF THE BOOKISH MINIONS!!!!!
(The Caps Locks are all you – no-one to blame but yourself for the Caps Lock monster you have created: i.e. me!)
XD
Ah, no I’m not ignoring it. 🙂 I just choose not to highlight negativity on my blog as much as possible…I mean, I will weigh in on discussions on occasion, but it just makes me upset so YEEEEAH. That’s why I kind of don’t recap it. But twitter has honestly been rubbish in September for acidic explosions. It’s so disappointing. 😖
ANYWAY, THANK YOU, CEE ARR, MY LITTLE CAPS LOCK MONSTER. <3
“cait, ruller of the world”
While I didn’t search this specifically, I did refer to you in my 2016 Holiday Wish List post and I hope I used your proper title. 😉
Signed, One of your Devoted Pineapples
(And yes, I would buy a PaperFury Minion shirt especially if it had a pineapple on it.)
WELL I APPRECIATE IT. (I also love the spelling of those searches, right?!😂) But omg, Terri. DAY MADE. <3 YOU ARE THE BEST PINEAPPLE.
So right now I’m sitting in the make-up room of an event, waiting for my time to go out onto national tv another time and I’m writing a comment cause Cait wanted one! XD I hope you appreciate it.
“Comment.”
THERE.
@AvalinahsBooks
I APPRECIATE IT A LOT, EVELINA. <3 THANK YOU. And seriously, you're on TV?!? I am in the presence of A FAMOUS PERSON. *flails*
I had made such a witty comment, and then a bunch of Las Vegas dressed girls (peacock crowns and peacock tail skirts that ACTUALLY lift into a circle) walked past and my comment was gone in the depths of there somewhere. Which was a shame, but oh well.
Yeah, I was on TV! It was hilarious how we got there, I was there with my choir (I sing). Overall, we’re not such a good choir, but no other choirs agreed to participate somehow and we were stuck getting them the hell out. It was quite a big event too, it was a concert for the day of the police, so all the big heads with their fancy uniforms were there. I saw the Minister of Defense from my position on stage xD during the time behind the stage, I think I saw like 70% of my country’s pop stars, it was quite crazy (and funny). And I walked above the stage on this mesh thing which looks like basically nothing at all and you’re going to fall off.
And I have only one thing to sum up from it is.
TV IS A HOAX 😀
You know how everyone thinks that they make everything so foolproof and specially fitted, and all that bang? And everyone knows their lines three times over..? Well xD the stage was being patched up with sticky tape when I was there, it bent under my steps, the famous people didn’t really walk around in feather boas and dark glasses, and most of their costumes look really cheap when close up xD everything looked so amateur you wouldn’t believe it, and yet – when I saw it post-production on TV in a few hours, everything looked as spotless as ever. Go figure..
So yeah. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if I’m really famous :DD
– @AvalinahsBooks
Your wrapups are always so much fun! I think my favorite part will always be the “Intriguing Searches.” Bahaha!!!!
Awww, THANK YOU. *flails happily* And omg to those searches, right?! How do people even find my blog through those?!😂
Ha, I love your general bubbliness and enthusiasm. I can feel it right through my laptop screen!
1. CROOKED KINGDOM. I am worried about who dies. and waiting for my copy to get here!
2. Can’t wait to read the new Cath Crowley! Graffiti Moon is one of my all-time faves.
3. A sequel to Carry On would make my dreams come true.
djaskfldadjkl THANK YOU, HANNAH. <3 This makes me very happy. And hopefully not too shrieky.😂 Ahem.
Oh oh but Words in Deep Blue is JUST AS GOOD (maybe even better?!) than Graffiti Moon. <3 So I hope you like it!! There is so much bookworm appreciation in it. 😍
oh man look at those mugs? aren’t they precious. Congrats on writing a book, must be super exciting! that is really quite an accomplishment. Yay for talking to famous people!
I really need to read Six of Crows, the book is glaring at me from my book shelf, Crooked Kingdom looks amazing.
I hope you enjoy all your new reads! You are almost at 200!
Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom are 1000% WORTH IT I PROMISE. *flails forever* I do hope you love them if you try them! AND OMG YES NEARLY AT 200!! That was my goal for the whole year, heheh.😱😜 I’m slightly an overachiever I think. 😂
Sounds like a fantastic month!
Thanks for the bookish updates, it’s really helpful for me. I don’t always follow book news and so it’s great to get a summary here from you in such an amusing way. Again congrats on the book!!
Yayyy! I’m really glad it’s helpful! I always love reading other people’s newsy recaps so I figured I should start my own. 😜
That is so freakin’ awesome about your Twitter! And by the way, I really need to read more of your recap posts — they’re so fun. XD
OKAY THIS MAKES ME VERY HAPPY. CAKE FOR YOU. 😊😊😊
I’m still kind of reeling from Jeff Zentner tweeting back at me earlier this month when I complained about Serpent King making me sob.
And CROOKED KINGDOM! The weird thing is that I didn’t really care for the Grisha series and only read the first book, but the Six of Crows was perhaps the best book ever? Which is very much like my Stiefvater feelings because The Scorpio Races is also perhaps the best book ever, but I started glazing over with her other works PLEASE DON’T HATE ME. But yes, Crooked Kingdom was enormously satisfying.
What pretty eyes you have! (I almost added, “Grandmother,” because it sounded like Little Red Riding Hood, but since I’m possibly old enough to be your grandmother, that didn’t really make sense.)
OMG THAT’S AMAZING YOU TALKED TO JEFF ZENTNER!! (Also I’m about to read The Serpent King so…have comforting chocolate handy, right?!)
I did like the Grisha books but not like ADORE them. I loved the world a lot, but Mal was really annoying me.😂 But SoC and CK have just been my everything ajfdksafldja.
I’ll try not to hate you for not loving all the Stiefvater. 😉 jUST KIDDING! THAT’S OKAY! I’ll be a rabid fan of everything Stiefvater writes of ever by myself hehe. 😂
Omg that makes me laugh about the Little Red Riding hood hahhaha! *ahem*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR LITTLE PUPPY! They grow up so fast. Yay for all that writing! And yay for stabby books! They will always be the best. 🙂
YAYY THEY DO GROW UP SO FAST. And get so very devious as they do.😂 And *hi fives* we are in thorough agreement on stabby books.
these recaps are my favorite but the problem with them being so long is that by the time I finish reading it, I forgot about all the things I need to comment on. #problemsofhavingashorttermmemory
BUT THE SEARCH RESULTS ARE MY FAVORITE THING IN THE HISTORY OF EVER AND THEY NEVER FAIL TO MAKE ME GIGGLE. the things people actually search for is ridiculous. but it makes me happy. xD
WHOOOO so excited for you and your book! dude, that must feel so nice.
(and I don’t know if you were joking or not but you should TOTALLY do a post with all your ideas and then have us vote because that would be the coolest thing. Then we can know about alllll the ideas. Mwahaha. (really I’m just a snoopy being who wants to know about every plot bunny) :P)
It’s good to have you back in the blogosphere!
I KNOW. So many problems with them being so long. *shrieks* 😩 I could almost split them into two posts but then…eh, who has time to read two posts. 😂 One day I’ll figure out how to fix this quandary. hehh. Ahem.
I have noooo idea how those searches even lead to my blog half the time?! Like someone literally googled “FURY” and found me? THAT’S SO RANDOM.😂
And no I wasn’t joking!! I really am going to do a post and have you all vote. That will solve aaaaall my problems. No decision making for me. :’) #winwin
“Girls hate epic fantasy”? Haha…FIGHT ME, YOU CRAVEN, MISBEGOTTEN CUR!!!
And yay! You’re rising ever higher in the world. Won’t be long before you have that book throne in real life.
I KNOW RIGHT?!? WHAT IS THAT COMMENT. AND HOW DID IT LEAD TO MY BLOG. *rages*
And I will definitely be building that book throne so soon. :’)
Yay for fabulous tweets! And also for Good Surprises. I have been interested in the premise of Blackhearts since I first saw it but at the same time…. Apprehensive. And The Trials of Apollo – it’s on my Very Next TBR pile but I don’t know WHEN I will get to it.
Happy birthday puppy!!!
I was the same about Blackhearts! I heard it wasn’t so good…but I really enjoyed it. <3 It doesn't exactly have pirates but it has the PROMISE of pirates for the sequel and I am 10000% there for that. 😍
EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT CROOKED KINGDOM, WHICH MEANS I PROBABLY SHOULD READ IT XD. And its COVER! <3 I love it *nods*. Also IT'S SO ANNOYING WHEN A BOOK COMES WITH THE WRONG COVER. It's just maddening.
WHOA A Wrinkle In Time is going to be a MOVIE?! SO MUCH YES.
130,000 IN 6 DAYS?! HOW EVEN, CAIT. JUST HOW EVEN. That, like … shouldn't even be possible. YOU ARE SUPERHUMAN. *highfive*
NANO. I have the same problem you do – TOO MANY IDEAS! But I solved it by deciding to become a WriMo rebel. Me thinks that I shall be writing TWO stories this November *nods*.
YESSSS, YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY TRY CROOKED KINGDOM AT SOME POINT BECAUSE IT’S GORGEOUSLY WONDERFUL AND I LOVE IT. *shrieks from the rooftops* Ahem. Yes I’m slightly obsessed, I know it’s hard to tell. 😂
I totally feel like re-reading A Wrinkle in Time now! I’M SO EXCITED. The cast looks amazing!!
And yesss, I am superhuman. *flips hair majestically* But YOU are clearly also a superhuman if you can manage two stories at once!! 😱
So, I’m just a tad bit stuck on that title. I’m not even sure I wrote that many words if you add up all the random lists and blog post’s I’ve typed this month. Go you.
And I support the idea of you writing a pirate themed book 10000000%.
So happy for you about all your famous people connections. I saw your tweet on Buzzfeeds and was all “I talk to her! I’m famous in a 6 degrees kind of way.”
Hope October is just as epic for you.
THANK YOU. I DON’T KNOW HOW I DID IT EITHER. *collapses in a puddle* Least to say I don’t know how I’m going to ever beat that record.😂 And I’m glad you’re all for the pirate book because omggg it will NOT leave me alone. *squawks*
Bahahah, YES, I’m so famous.😂 (Like not really, at all, but I’m happy to sit here pretending, right?!)
I HAVE CROOKED KINGDOMS OUT FROM THE LIBRARY!!! My new library got it the day that it came out (and it’s a small library) and there were NO HOLDS ON IT, OMGOODNESS. And I get to read it before my sister (who’s still waiting for the Kindle version), so, HA!
Ooooh, I love your recaps! 😀 I also love when you respond to comments …. so nice of a big blogger like you!!!!
Also … I NEED IT TO BE CHRISTMAS. I JUST FINISHED ENSNARED, AND, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FJDKLSAFD ALYSSA WE CAN SO FLAIL TOGETHER AHHH I’M SO GLAD!! TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK, YES?!? And Yessss for winning against your sister reading it hahah.😂 I actually kind of miss the days when my sister would fight with me for who got to read books first! She doesn’t really have time to read anymore, wah. But anyway. THANK YOU for reading my recaps. <33 It means sooo much to me. And omg I love chatting with you all! IT IS MY FAVOURITE.
AFAFJKDLSAFD WASN'T THE ENDING OF ENSNARED MIND BLOWING?!? I love how Morpheus and Jeb kind of ended up getting along. Bless them and their snark. :')
Crooked Kingdom, I need that book! These post always remind me of the all the books I have failed to read.
Aww, don’t think of it as failing! Think of it as all these books you have to look forward to, right?! 🙂
CROOKED KIIIIIINGDOM CROOKED KINGDOM OMG. Brilliant, amazing, emotional, stabby stab stab. I’m going to miss these characters so much honestly. Also I haaated Stealing Snow too, and sad about Silver in the Blood. That one had sounded good. Ahh, I can’t wait to read Outrun the Moon. Hoping to do that before the year ends!
Your Instagram is one of my FAVORITES. Such pretty photos, Cait!
“girls hate high fantasy” obviously this person has never met me or a thousand other girls who love high fantasy books
Though I’m sad we have to wait even longer for Strange the Dreamer, I’d rather have a book carefully put together than one haplessly thrown together because of time restraints. I’m glad she’s making sure we get the story that she wants to tell! And omg when Maggie tweeted about the Ronan-trilogy, I freaked the flip out. I don’t care how long it takes, or what it’s about, ONLY THAT I NEED IT. And I’m excited about Sara’s pirate series! YAY FOR PIRATES.
I just watched Allegiant for the first time, and yes please this needs to stop. I thought it ended well! WHY DOES THERE NEED TO BE A TV SHOW.
Also omg your pirate book! SNIPPETS WHEN IT HAPPENS, PLEASE?
I freak out when authors RT or fave or reply to my tweets. IT MAKES ME FEEL AWESOME ESPECIALLY BC THEY FEEL LIKE FAMOUS PEOPLE TO ME. I love Twitter for this reason. And other reasons. But mostly that it lets me connect with people from all over the woooorld like my favorite authors.
I need to figure out what I’m writing for NaNo. I’ll probably work on my NaNo novel from last year, and since I lost the doc that had it, I basically have to start over anyway. Which SUCKS. But perhaps this means I can write a better beginning? I can’t wait, though! I want to challenge myself to make it this year and write more than in 2015.
YOUR DOG IS SO CUTE. Happy birthday, Cait’s dog!
AFJDKALSD I’M SO GLAD YOU LOVED CROOKED KINGDOM TOOOOOO!!! It’s seriously one of my top reads of this year and I’m SO happy about that. :’) And I have yet to met anyone who likes Stealing Snow.😂 Oh wait. No, someone in the goodreads comments had to come and hate me for hating it hahah. But they only rated it 3-stars so I really don’t know what their problem was. Goodreads users. Gotta love ’em.
OMGG ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITES??! I’M COMPLETELY HONOURED. *flails like a deranged apple*
The person who thinks girls hate fantasy needs to SIT DOWN. And also how did they get to my blog?!? All I do is rave about Epic fantasy?!
I think they should’ve not split up Allegiant at all?! Like they should seriously stop doing that to trilogies. It almost always backfires.🙈🙊
AND IF I DO PIRATES FOR NANO I WILL SNIPPET YOU ALL!! Because I can’t help myself apparently. And omg when people retweet me or anything I just absolutely freak out!! AHHHHH!!HH!H! I shall have my moment of fame here.😂 Even if it’s all in my imagination.😂😂
I hope you do well for NaNo!! But like no writing is wasted writing, so even if you have to start again, you’ll have things to build off, right?! I shall be here to cheer you on and fling cake of encouragement at you!
Wow, your month sounds awesome! (Also, please tell your dog happy birthday from me and also that he’s adorable. What kind of dog is he?) Good job for reading so many books! I think I read like three or something, which is terribly sad. My favorite was probably The Princess Bride, which I’ve never read before. It was really good but I felt so gullible and betrayed when I found out S. Morganstern didn’t exist. XD Oh well, I’m over it.
I actually know what I’m going to write for NaNo but then I had this plot bunny to write an MG novel for my little brother (who’s nine right now) to read for his birthday or something, with dragons and Scandinavian influences and miniature dragons called drakes who are very snarky and sassy. So I’m trying to figure that out without actually writing it because I have way too many unfinished novels. *flounders in half-finished drafts*
Oh oh yeah, and congratulations on getting 130k in six days! That’s so amazing! 😀
My dog is a schnauzer x poodle and HE KNOWS HE’S ADORABLE AND USES IT TO GET WHAT HE WANTS.😂 But like, seriously, what a cutie omg.
Oh I want to read The Princess Bride!! I looove the movie and I’m kind of ashamed I’ve never read the book. I NEED.
Dude, your MG book sounds AMAZING because anything with dragons = amazing instantly. *nods* Plus snark and sass?!? This sounds amazing. I’m kind of hoping you chase this plot bunny. 😀
Gosh, Cait, this is a lot of information to digest, and I am pretty sure I am getting some of your updates confused with John Green since I just watched the video so… there’s that. Okay, the jerk with the “girls not liking epic fantasy”, he can go home. Also, I love that you have fanpeople actually GOOGLING YOU. I mean, I am jealous, incredibly so, but STILL. Also, you ARE famous, and I won’t lie, I am even MORE jealous now, okay? As long as you understand my jealousy, we can move along.
I haven’t read Crooked Kingdom, so I am trying to stay FARRR away from spoilers and basically any mention of the book in general, I wanted to reread Six of Crows, but I think it’s safe to say that is never going to happen so I should probably just go ahead and read CK, hmm? I am super sad that you didn’t like Breathing Underwater, I had REALLY been excited for that one. BUT, your “best books” are all books I want to read too (except TATBILB, because I read and loved it too) so there’s that.
I am bummed about Divergent, mostly because I wanted to see what they’d do with the ending. I didn’t suffer through THREE movies just to be denied an ending. NOT COOL, Lionsgate. Not cool. I mean, the TV series was a completely asinine idea, they should have just done the movie and let it be done!
As for NaNo, I have like, no ideas, so basically you can lend me one of your bagillion ideas, and then you will be unburdened of that one, and we all win. See how easy? 😉
I’M SORRY FOR THE FLOOD OF INFO!😂 I just can’t help myself, can I?? Sometimes I think I should break my haul and the news into two different posts but pfft, who wants to read all of that? Nah. At least this way people can skip to the parts they’re interested in. *nods*
Also the person who thinks girls don’t like epic fantasy SHALL SHUT THEIR MONTH NOW AND NOT SPEAK AGAIN. (Plus how did it lead to my blog?!? All I do is rave about how much I love epic fantasy?!?)
omg don’t be jealous of me. 😂 Half the time I never even reply to tweets because I’M TOO NERVOUS. So I’m 99% sure everyone thinks I’m horrible and snobby but like I JUST HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO SAY I’M TOO BUSY FLAILING OUT OF MY SKULL. *hyperventilates* I’m handling the fame well, yes, thanks.
I totally get that re-reading books is slightly difficult! I re-read Six of Crows but, like, I’m obsessed. I’m REALLY glad I did though, because it cemented my love a thousand percent. <3 But I think the plot lines are fairly separate? So as long as you remember the basic ending of SoC you should be okay for CK!!
I shall lend you CAKE. Will that do? (Omg just write a book about cake, Shannon. Then dedicate it to me, and it will be an instant bestseller. #legit)
Sounds like you had a pretty awesome September! I’ve gotten behind on Firefight and need to fix that ASAP! And that’s very cool that your tweet for highlighted! Ooh pirate book! Can’t wait to hear about the ideas! Happy reading!
I definitely did! Eeep. Thanks, Cyn. :’) PIRATES ARE SO FUN THOUGH. And I’m so excited for the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 coming out too hehh.😂
Whoa. SOOOOOOOOOO many things happened. I feel so behind. I knew about the Everything, Everything thing but since it’s not a book I particularly like, I’ll stop right there xD
I wanna read some of Jenny Han’s books
The only author I’ve chatted with on Twitter was Holly Smale and I loved all her answers.
I don’t actually like the Everything Everything book either.🙈🙊 But I will watch the movie because movies are NEVER like the books and maybe it’ll be better, right?!? JENNY HAN IS AMAZING!! (I mean, I’ve only read one of her books but afjdksald it was amazing.)
Crooked Kingdom was so great. <3 So much love. So sad it ended.
You know, I'm actually interested in Holding up the Universe… I hardly ever read contemporary…
Your puppy is so cute. Congrats!
