You may have noticed several unusual things about this post already.
And in case you didn’t, I shall list them for you:
a) I should’ve posted it yesterday.
b) It’s usually Stacking the Shelves/Sunday Post but today it is not.
c) I have never before in my fabulous blogging days done a monthly recap.
d) I AM BREAKING TRADITION.
It’s okay! It’s okay! Don’t freak out. Goodness knows I’m not…ha, ha ha…yes I am. I’ve always wanted to recap a month and since July was an interesting specimen, why not? Let’s plunge in.
Isn’t this adorable? SUCH A SMALL COLLECTION. I’m so proud of myself.
I am not reading. In fact, I haven’t read a single book since Sunday. I really struggle to read and write simultaneously, because a) I don’t want to accidentally copy what I’m reading into what I’m writing, and b) my brain tends to focus on just one thing, and c) I want a reading break. I read a lot this month. I NEED A BREAK.
So welcome to my zombie book! It’s hesitantly titled Them Hungry Bones which I realise is bad grammar and that’s why I’ve done it. It’s going to be written in slang.
To give it a horrible terrible pitch: It’s about a eleven-year-old and her eighteen-year-old uncle, who take a road trip through zombie apocalypsed Australia. They hate each other. They nearly die.
“I don’t want to be a man,” said Jace. “I want to be an angst-ridden teenager who can’t confront his own inner demons and takes it out verbally on other people instead.”
“Well,” said Luke, “you’re doing a fantastic job.”
And I introduced you to my small home business wherein I maliciously cut up books.
OH. And look!
Here you can see pictures of us and nature and sunshine. Highly irregular.
By the way, I am the one in the stripy jumper/blue shirt. Mime is wearing the dorky hat. (She’s going to thump me for saying that.)
