Either nothing happens or everything happens. Honest. There is no in between.
I think I did everything in November. It’s mildly exhausting. Going away. Reading furiously. NaNoWriMo. Moving to wordpress. Puppy. I think I ate the world and I’m tired.
Before I launch into my recap though, don’t forget to enter my celebratory giveaway (INT book of choice) of moving to WordPress!
I know, I know…someone got excited.
But they’re shiny and nice I do so love books (and I also have a library addiction).
[Red Glove – library – my new bookish addiction, actually] [Neverending Story – library – totally blame Nevillegirl] [How To Train Your Dragon – library – because I need to have this book in my life] [Fairytales for Wilde Girls – library – my library did a promo for it and I’m a sucker] [Ash – library – again, Nevillegirl’s fault] [Blue Lily Lily Blue – bought – OH LET ME FLAIL LIKE A GLORIOUS WILD ANTELOPE!] [Aristotle and Dante – won – thanks Simon and Schuster!] [Tin Lily – won – thanks Brit!] [The Coldest Girl in Coldtown – thanks Hachette! – Omg, already read it and LOVE] [Black Ice – won – AND IT’S SIGNED!!] [Rooms – thanks Hachette – I…I though this was YA but it’s not] [The Zig Zag Girl – Hachette – surprise review-copy…I have no idea what this one is]
See why I’m so exhausted, though?! November felt like an incredible long month…which means I (fairly) get to spend December playing with my puppy and occasionally reading an extraordinary book.
I’m linking up with these memes:
i want to hear about your month, my beserkish blogglings! was it insanely busy for you? (tell all! tell all!) and how excited are you for Christmas holidays? (and, you know, delicious Christmas food) oh and what are you going to read next? (me = blue lily, obviously)
Cait has been swarmed with work at the moment and therefore has been reading Wicked for like, um, a week. Since she usually reads a book a day, this feels weird. While thinking Wicked thoughts, she’s been spreading the joy (and agony) of Christmas glitter about her room. Yup. She already regrets it.
So it wasn’t just me with the Young Sherlock books. I read two of them and I think I actually did throw one of them on the floor. They are definitely the worst Sherlock adaptations I have ever read. Never again. There’s a similar series about the Young James Bond that I would recommend staying away from as well.
Wow, you sure have had a busy month. Mine was pretty busy too, but I dare say not as busy as yours. I just had assignments, NaNo and a piano exam. There may have been a concert in there too. I can’t remember. The month is a bit of a blur. But wow, you’ve read over 200 books this year? That’s awesome!
OH YAY NOT JUST ME?! I AM HAPPY> *coughs awkwardly* Ooookay, admittedly it sounds bad to be relieved someone else hates a book, but still. They were so awful, right?! It made me cry because Sherlock is my favourite thing. I will NOT go for any Young James Bonds either then.
Piano exam is hugely intense. Do you get scores back soon?!!
I knoooow. I’ve read every single one of the actual stories, and I’ve been hoping to watch the TV shows and everything for ages. But he was so stupid and overly egotistical in the Young Sherlock that I simply couldn’t go on. Argh!
Yep! I just got it last night actually. Methinks it’s celebration with cake and chocolate time now that’s all over. I never thought I’d get to eighth grade, so this is a big achievement for me.
CHRISTMAS IS COMING! YAY!
…ahem…
You have How To Train Your Dragon from the library? AWESOME! Although the series itself is very awesome, the best book is definitely the third one (personal opinion alert). Also, I am insanely jealous that you are onto Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I need to get The Dream Thieves like I need oxygen right now (possible exaggeration) but I have to wait until after Christmas… 🙁 And you can guarantee that I’ll want to read Blue Lily the second I’ve put The Dream Thieves down, but if my TBR list is big now, it’s nothing compared to what it’ll be after Christmas…
I’m still reading Hitchhikers- it’s four books in one so I kind of have an excuse (no I don’t, I’ve been reading it since way before summer…) and I’m also reading Dark Matter for book club 😉
CHRISTMAS AND GLITTER AND CRAFTY MESS AND WRAPPING PAPER!! My room is. a. mess. Seriously. I…I can’t even look at my desk right now.
IT IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION. YOU NEED DREAM THIEVES MORE THAN OXYGEN. More even then…then… CAKE. *gasps* I love that book. I want to reread it. But, you know, time. *cries because needs to steal time*
I’m still very confused as it how it’a almost Christmas. Wasn’t it, like, January yesterday?! Oh my gosh, that puppy is adorable. I’ve never had a dog before, but I LOVE looking at other people’s pictures of them that they post, ahah. xD Can’t wait for the puppy post! Also, I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of How to Train Your Dragon. I’ve been tempted to read those books, but haven’t actually read it yet. You’ve got a pretty epic haul of books there. 😀
It totally was January just, like, a few seconds ago. *sigh* December always makes me feel I need to do the 1375390 million things I forgot to do earlier.
GAH. I HAVE TOO MANY BOOKS AND NOT ENOUGH TIME. Someone needs to ban me from the library. >.> Except…I love it. hehe.
You, Cait, are an overachiever. NaNoWriWe … I’d love to do it, and probably could do it (managed a 7,000 word day myself this NaNo), but … wow. Next year. I’ll do it next year.
I actually read a few good books this month. (And then editing and NaNo took over. I … need to finish the reading. Two of them are library books and are already on their renewal.)
A serious overachiever. IT\’S SOMETIMES A PROBLEM. I get worn out. >_.> I\’m not very consistent.
Editing always wears me out so much, so I admire you even getting any reading done!!
(Interesting, for some odd reason, there’s a section of your comment missing. Can see it in the email, but not here …)
My word average was actually closer to 2,500, with a few 4,000 word days, and then on the eighteenth I said – hey, I want to finish NaNo today. So I creamed out 7,000 words. I’m still not sure how I did it, since I was actually at a slower part of the story. But I did it, and I won, and it was glorious.
I love editing (more than writing sometimes), but since I edit with my kindle, and do most of my reading there as well … they conflict when I try to do them both at the same time. But I finished editing last night, so can return to reading! Yay!
OF COURSE IT WAS GLORIOUS!! AND BIG CONGRATS TO YOU. 7K a day is not easy. *flops in exhaustion just thinking about it* I kiiiind of had similar with my last day of NaNo because I was babysitting the next day and I really reeeally wanted to be done with it. EXCEPT THE BOOK DIDN\’T FINISH AT 50K!! *cries* I wrote like a fiend until it was done though.
I like editing in that there\’s something there to work with. It feels like it\’s not as brain-draining as first-drafts (at least for me). x) But I love the freedom of writing wild and messy for first drafts. XD
YOU WERE SO BUSY IN NOVEMBER AND YOU STILL READ MORE THAN ME! WHAT IS THIS SORCERY???!!! I’ve deduced that you’re just a reading machine. My November was crazy and December’s going to be even worse and I foresee a future of no books. Which is so sad. I SPY BLUE LILY. WHY HAVE YOU YET TO READ IT?? WHAT IS THIS?! CAIT, GO LET YOUR FEELINGS BE TRASHED BY THIS BOOK. The puppy is officially the cutest. I would get so distracted…
Well, when I went away I had no internet which equals….obsessive reading. XD I read most of these books in the last week of Nov. Because I am strange. *nods* Very, very strange.
OH MY GOSH I CANNOT WAIT TO PICK UP BLUE LILY. I\’ve gotten to the point where I\’m so excited I keep putting off actually starting it. xD That is sad, right? Really sad. I\’m a sad specimen of a fangirl.
Woah there’s a How to Train Your Dragon book? THAT IS AWESOME I NEED TO READ THIS BOOK ASAP. I also have The Coldest Girl in Coldtown but it’s been ages and I still haven’t gotten to it–glad that you loved it, Cait!
Have a great December, girl! <33
I know, right?! That\’s how I felt when I saw the HTTYD book. xD Oh Holly Black is like one of my new top favourite authors. SHE IS JUST AMAZING.
You got a puppy! I love puppies. You also finished NaNoWriMo in a week? *claps* Cait, you ARE awesome.
Lucy @ My Little Life
PUPPIES ARE THE MOST GLORIOUS THINGS IN THE WORLD.
PUPPY!
Uh. Enjoy the bo — PUPPY!
I AM TOO DISTRACTED TO READ!!
WE BOTH HAD INSANE NOVEMBERS, IT LOOKS LIKE. I went to Sydney too, although it’s not as much of a trek for me 😛 And also, you’ve probably seen more of Sydney than me (I’ve never been inside the Opera House, for instance).
BUT YOU STILL READ LIKE A GAZILLION BOOKS. WHAT EVEN?? You’re crazy, girlllll.
I hope you’re liking WordPress 😛
WE DID. We should rename it Insanovember. <– See? Catchy.
OMG BUT YOU LIVE IN SYDNEY DON\'T YOU??? COME NOW. THERE IS AN OPERA HOUSE SHAPED HOLE IN YOUR EXISTENCE.
*whispers* I love wordpress. Why did I ever worry?
I love Holly Black SO MUCH. Tithe is one of my favorite books. I’ve read it a million times. I haven’t read White Cat, though, so I need to get on that.
SHE IS AMAZING AND I ONLY DISCOVERED HER THIS YEAR. White Cat is extraordinary. It\’s also about crime. Hehe. Con stories are just awesome. XD
Ok. I’m getting on White Cat ASAP. Have you read Tithe (and it’s sequels)? They’re about faeries (the awesome creepy mysterious kind) and general amazingness. You should definitely read those if you haven’t yet.
NOT YET BUT I WANT TITHE SO BADLY. I love creepy faeries. x) And Holly Black. OMG. She is a genius.
Went on vacation, did NaNoWriMo (erm, excuse me, NaNoWriWE), got a puppy, moved to WordPress, AND read SEVENTEEN books?!? What?!? How?!? You obviously have superpowers. I’m so excited for Christmas as well because it’s my favorite holiday. I’ve been listening to Christmas music everyday, drinking copious amounts of hot chocolate and basically just bouncing up and down in excitement. Haha, the picture of your puppy playing with wrapping paper is so cute.
*adjusts superpower cape* Oh totally. My superpowers have come in FINALLY. Huzzah. (I actually think I have a hyperactive brain, lol.)
Oooh, yes Christmas! I actually freak out over Christmas. I hate buying presents. (I overthink everything.) But I do like the delicious food, hehe. x) HOT CHOCOLATE FTW THOUGH.
Sounds like you had a lovely month. Your ability to eat books so rapidly in the midst of all your crazy life happenings just kind of amazes me. Also, I really can’t wait to hear more about this little minion.
I try to chew, I do. But sometimes I swallow. (When I was away I had no internet, so it was long nights of reading, which really helped my TBR!) XD
You were very busy, wow! I’m impressed! Have to say, Puppy is adorable, and NaNo seems like so long agao for you! You’ve got loads of books, but Curse Workers, I’m SO PLEASED you’re liking/loving that, I thought it was pretty fantastic but so many don’t know about it, I shall cries.. Such a wonderful month, well done for moving to wordpress and congratulations. Now chill out woman, read a little less, enjoy December! 🙂
Gosh it does feel like forever ago that I wrote a book. 0.0 I feel ready to rewrite! lol Maybe January. December is craaaaazy and I so do not need another project. lol OMG THE CURSE WORKERS IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME. I listened to them on audio and I so so want to buy them and just own them now. *hugs Holly Black*
*salutes* I WILL CHILL. Kind of. I mean, a little? I\’ve only read like 4 books this month, so that\’s a lot less than usual, right?! *awards self with cake and tv*
Whahey, that’s a really busy month! I still kind of mentally glare at you for finishing NaNo in a week, which is bloody insane. Yes, you are crazy, you crazy person. That’s also a shitton of books, hahaha. Sherlock was stupid? As in, really stupid, or did you think he was stupid? Have you read Jackaby? It’s kind of a “Sherlock meets Doctor Who” thing, which is every fangirl’s wet dream. It’s got some negative reviews, but I personally really liked it. Also, the PUPPY is really cute, and I can’t wait to see more of the cutie. I’m glad you had a great time in Sydney! I’d go myself, but that would require me to sit in an airplane for 24 hours, so I think I’ll pass for now.
*glares at you back*
*folds arms*
*stamps foot*
*commences Loki hair toss* I DO WHAT I WANT.
Though really, lol, it\’s such a bad idea to write that fast. I think I liquefied my braincells. I WANT TO READ JACKABY. I\’m scared though, because it\’s pitched as Sherlock, yes….I haven\’t ever watched Dr. Who though. *hides* I plan to one day. >.>
Yes, airplane for over 4 hours kills me, so I understand this life decision of yours.
Looks like you’ve had a super busy, although productive month! I really need to get to reading some Maggie Stiefvater as soon as I can. I have a copy of Shiver The Whole Night Through. I’m so excited to read it!
Soooo busy. *collapses and sleeps* Can I hibernate in December?
Ooh, I really really want to know what you think of Shiver The Whole Night Through, because, eh. It was interesting. I need to compare thoughts. XD
You have some books that I want… to read and steal! Kidding, don’t steal! :)) Happy reading!
*stuffs all books in mouth and eats them before you can*
XD
Wow! How do you read so many books? I wish I had the time to read that much (or that I was that fast)! I won NaNoWriMo as well. I’m so excited to dig into my NaNo novel which is actually a second draft to a book I wrote earlier this year.
I do read quite fast, but I also had no internet while I was away for 8 days. NOTHING TO DO BUT READ. It helped my TBR that\’s for sure. 😉
CONGRATS ON WINNING NANO THOUGH! WE SHALL PARTY TILL DAWN TOGETHER!
Oh my gosh!!! You got the first How to Train Your Dragon book! That series is so funny and clever. 🙂 My November was insanely busy, since I was preparing for Latin Convention and all, but now that’s over forever and I can go back to writing. My edits for Corroded Thorns are going surprisingly well, considering this is only my second time editing a story; and I’ve actually had time to read! I finished the third Keeper of the Lost Cities book, which was adorable, awesome, and amazing, and read The Cloak Society, which was a fun read. I have the second book in that series waiting for me at the library along with Since You’ve Been Gone. And I am so excited for Christmas! I love this time of year.
By the way, your puppy is adorable.
They are hilarious! I finished the first one last night. I will so definitely dig up some more. Totally different to the movie, though, right?! Congrats on edits going well. They can be tough, eh?! Ohhh, I LOVE Since You\’ve Been Gone. Totally let me know what you think of that one, eh?!
Sounds like you’ve had a very busy month! I’ve had school applications, sports tryouts, and of course, the usual reading and reviewing. I’M VERY EXCITED for Christmas, as I’m planning to make my friends their gifts. Some of them are book themed like a Hobbit clock and a Fault In Our Stars mug. I just finished reading the Young Elites, and have a TBR list of 7734 (though I’m sure other bloggers have many more books to read) and I’m usually that stubborn reader who just reads whatever she wants depending on her mood at the moment. Question for you: How did you start book blogging? And, what is the best way to get your reviews/blog out to publishers so that they’ll work with you and possibly send you books? I’ve been working on my blog lately, and my blog has finally passed the 6 month anniversary, though I don’t even have 100 followers. Any advice?
Great post, Cait!
Opps! Typo on the book number, I meant to write 774! Though I hope that there’d be so many good books out there that my TBR would one day become close to 7734!
lol I have about 800+ books on my tbr, so I HEAR YA THERE. (It totally feels like 7734 anyway, right?! #truthfultypo)
Oh your friends are in for a treat! HOW AWESOME!
Okay, review-copies: I didn\’t ask for any until I had 100+ followers (a lot of publishers want to see blogs who are a year old, but that\’s not always the case!). All you can do is ask, right?! I suggest googling \”how do I get ARCs\” because there are fabulous posts out there that really go through the entire process with you! (That\’s what I did!) I just emailed the publishers one day (on their publicity email) and introduced myself and my blog (really briefly, basically just that I was a YA book blog) and then requested 1 book. I put in a few of my blog stats (pageviews, followers, twitter followers, goodreads friends) and my mailing address. I did get the first ARC I ever asked for which was just ajfksdlafdj.
(As for upping followers/views…I totally suggest joining in linkups! That\’s what worked for me. I was stuck on like 100 followers for 3 years. 0.0 And I was so frustrated! But after I started networking, so commenting on a ton of blogs, and also being active on twitter and joining in linkups, things really exploded. *nods*)
Hope this helps!!
THE NEVERENDING STORY!!! YES!! I will go ahead and confess I’ve only seen the movie but I have very fond childhood memories of it. Oh, I want Aristotle and Dante! Also Chihuahua GIF and puppy!!! Many reasons to love this post!
I haven\’t even seen the movie! I want to read the book and then watch the movie and then compare them. 😉 Hehe.
PUPPY! I’m so excited to read about that tomorrow.
Sounds like you had such a fun month. So many of the books you read this month are books that I really want to read.
I had NO idea that How To Train Your Dragon was actually a book, I thought it was just a film. I’m going to have to give this a go because I always think the books are better and I adored the film.
I didn\’t know How To Train Your Dragon was a book either until I randomly fell over it and then I was like, \”Oh gosh, need this.\” I TOTALlY DID. I just finished it and it\’s hilarious. Nothing like the movie though, which is kind of weird….
OMG. I didn’t realize you did NaNoWriMo is a WEEK! I seriously want to read your book, I bet it is amazing! :O Your puppy is so cute! I wonder what you’re going to name it… ;D
OH MY BOOK IS A HOT MESS. Seriously. It\’s so bad. >-< lol! But I WILL edit eventually!!
*whispers* My puppy\'s name is Atticus Bean. LITERARY NAMES FTW!
WHOA, that’s a lot of books. I SPOT ARISTOTLE & DANTE AKA THE AWESOME. I really hope you’ll like that one 😀
I also still love the pie charts. Possibly because of the “pie” part. Dammit, now I’m hungry! *goes off to eat*
*comes back*
I have said this before but CAIT YOU AWESOME OVER-ACHIEVER. I’m still in awe that you won NaNoWriMo in a WEEK. This is seriously impressive stuff. Also my offer for beta-reading still stands, in case you’re ever looking for someone 🙂
THE PUPPY. HOW DID I MISS THE PUPPY? Gosh, it’s precious. I am already in love. *cuddles through computer screen*
Hope you have an awesome December, Cait 😀 Though with that darling puppy, I’m sure you will, haha.
ARI AND DANTE IS AWESOME AND NOW I OWN IT SQUEEEEEE. I have read it, but I won this copy! ^_^ Pie is the best. I just have to have pie charts. I think if they were, like, tree charts or something I wouldn\’t like them half so much. PIE.
I have a hyperactive brain or something. 0.0 IT IS EXHAUSTING BEING AN OVER-ACHIEVER I DON\’T RECOMMEND IT LIKE AT ALL. Ooh, I will be looking for betas eventually, so I\’ll remember that! XD
Congrats on NaNoWriMo! (Wow, you sure do raise the bar Cait!) Also the puppy is ADORABLE. SO cute, I just want to cuddle so bad right now. My November was…a bit of a humph. As in I set many goals, and achieved none of them. However I’m looking at the good side: 13,000 words on my new novel, college stuff ready and set for action, minimum social activities for December (just how I like it) and a ton of book shopping left for the end of the year (because I may not like normal shopping, but DUDE, books…I miss Waterstones already…). Christmas is going to be an awesome break, I’ve got a few Important Things this week, but from next week I’m going to get my Christmas jam on and just chill like a hoodrat. Because I am a hoodrat. Obviously.
What am I going to do for NaNo next year?! Like I can never beat this. lol XD HE IS THE CUDDELIST THING IN THE WORLD! Except….he bites me when I cuddle him. -_- We\’ll work on that.
13K is definitely awesome and college stuff sounds very taxing and exhausting so I think you\’re fabulous for that! Social activities? NEVER. (lol I totally love the excuse of my puppy now though. I\’m always like, \”I can\’t leave the house: I have a dog.\”)
PUPPY!! Oh my goodness, such a little cutie! Have you chosen a name yet?? Awww so cute!
And HUGE congrats on finishing NaNoWriMo in a week! Oh, please don’t remind me that Christmas is only a few weeks away! I’m seriously going to panic. (Ok, I’ve already started panicking) I have next to NOTHING done! Seriously… I still have around two thirds of my present buying to do, and then I have to POST like three of the bloomin’ things… Yeah, I’m a total procrastinator, (and I’ll never learn!) But yes! The Christmas food! (Totally the best part! Well, apart from the presents. Unless they’re presents of food, than that’s a double win :D)
Yes!! I called him Atticus Bean because I\’m literary obsessed like that. XD Ahhh, Christmas is WAY too close, right?!! I haven\’t got any presents organised. >_< And I suck at getting good presents, so yes, that is a problem. *sigh* I have to post some of mine too. ARGHHHH. And post this time of year is ridiculous. So yes. We should organise ourselves and get onto this, right?!
Ooh I see you read ‘If I Stay’ & ‘Where She Went’. What did you think? I LOVED Where She Went!! I think it had a lot to do with it being told from Adams perspective… I liked seeing that.
I LOVED If I Stay and I thought Where She Went was amazing but not as good. lol I\’m opposite to you? I just looooved that it was Adam though. I ship them so so hard.
Eeeeeee! I hope you enjoy ASH and THE NEVERENDING STORY.
I HOPE I DO TOO. hehe. No pressure, right?! 😉
Wow a lot happened to you in one month! Congrats on the NaNoWriMo win and the new puppy! He/she looks like a cutie. I look forward to learning more about him/her.
Sydney looks beautiful. Hope you had a wonderful time!
I was mostly busy with school. Fall Semester is ending soon thank goodness. I hardly read a thing! I’m so ashamed ): I’m so excited for Christmas and books! Oh it was my 21st in November which was awesome. I got a couple of books – The Program and Before I Fall.
*collapses* Sydney was super busy but exciting! OH that means you\’re like nearly up to holidays right?! THAT\’LL BE AWESOME FOR YOU! I can\’t wait for holidays. hehe. Then I can sleep….well, actually not because I have a rambunctious pup now. lol
O.M.G… I am going to start following the Sunday Post feature, too!! What is happening to flying by the seat of our pants?!! I am stoked that you are teviewi Egg and Spoon because I have been interested in reading it, and I also adore that cover. I am ashamed that I have never read The Neverending Story because The movie was sublime. I don’t think I knew it was a book when I first saw the movie. Was How to Train Your Dragon written before or after the movie? PUPPIES will always get my attention, so I am looking forward to seeing that post. I showed dogs with my family when I was young and have been adrift not being able to have one for the last 30 years. Apartments that will allow dogs in my city are way beyond my price range. We have to make do with the cats and a rodent or two here and there. I am so jealous you got to Sydney!! Someday…
PS: I am working on my Bout This Blogger post right now. I should be linking up tomorrow. 🙂
Oh definitely read Egg and Spoon! IT\’S HILARIOUS. I recommend it for sure (though it\’s kind of slow). The How To Train Your Dragon was written first! The movie is based on the book. *nods* But it\’s totally different. SYDNEY WAS AMAZING!!!! Finally saw all the famous Aussie icons and, what, I\’ve only lived here all my life. lol XD
Wow, November has definitely been a busy month for you! (I actually liked the Sherlock young books *whispers*) City of Heavenly Fire sits proudly on my shelf and I loved it too <3 And I am a huge Michael Grant fan, so seeing Bzrk there also made me happy, even though we did have a rocky beginning.
Congrats on winning Nanowrimo! You're so crazy writing that much in a week, but wow, I am SO impressed right now.
And new doggie sounds cute <3
*sleeps for a thousand years*
Omg, I am so sorry!!! I don\’t ever mean to bash someone\’s favourite book, but I definitely wasn\’t being very nice was I? *slaps self* I AM SORRY!
AFJSDKLAF I LOVE MICHAEL GRANT. I\’ve nearly read all his books. 0.0 Gone is amazing and so is all the BZRK books and Eve and Adam and Messenger of Fear!! HUZZAH!
Girl, you weren’t kidding. You have a crazy month! How are you still alive and kicking after all that?! I hope you find this next month a lot more restful than November. hugs!
Saaaaame. I need a rest or a snooze for a thousand years or something. xD
Sounds like a ker-fabulous month to me! (Also, I like Paper Fury and I miss you and we should chat soon.)
I\’m glad you like Paper Fury. I AM VERY GLAD. And I miss it badly when we don\’t chat tooooo. Today was awesome though. 😉
Woah you had a super fantastic busy month, I hope you get some much needed relaxation soon Cait! Welcome to your gorgeous new puppy too! That Sherlock adaptation sounds lame, I mean how can he be dumb? You wrote furiously in your Nanowrimo, congrats on that wonderful achievement.
I\’m just so furious at the Sherlock adaption. He was so so clueless. THAT\’S NOT SHERLOCK.
OMG CAIT. 20 books?!?! And 65k on NaNoWriWe?! HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL?!? Seriously…tell me your secrets! I am eagerly awaiting that post on your puppy though – he sounds adorable! ♥ Thanks for sharing Cait, and fabulous post!
AT SUPER SPEED I TELL YOU. I burn myself up too much though. Aaaaaand I don\’t have a social life, if that\’s any help?! 😉
Yay for EVERYTHING you did this month! Go you! I know it was exhausting, but don’t you also feel SUPER accomplished?
Great books this week, and you’ve inspired me to look up Egg & Spoon. 🙂
My StS
DEFINITELY do look up Egg and Spoon! I laughed so so hard. I do feel quite accomplished. 😉 But mostly tired…
You are so right about everything happening and nothing happening! SO MANY GREAT BOOKS. As always. 😀
I really need to get onto The Curse Workers trilogy, especially after seeing your Goodreads updates! I really hope you enjoy Blue Lily – I finished it last night and IT WAS AMAZING. Of course. I also LOVED Aristotle and Dante, so I hope you do too. 🙂 I’m very interested in Rooms…I haven’t read anything by Oliver yet.
The amount you read each month always astounds me, Cait! You read a Sherlock-adpatation where Sherlock was stupid>?! I’m sorry, but what?! I think that book needs to be blacklisted now.
And congratulations on winning Nano! 😀 *throws confetti*
AND YES. YOU’RE PUPPY IS ADORABLE. Looking forward to your post on him.
We’re only a week into December, and I’ve already forgotten November…I think it was busy-ish? I don’t really know, though…oops.
Oh gosh, tooootally get yourself onto The CurseWorkers books because you will. not. regret. it. THEY ARE THE BEST. I need the last book so so soooo badly. I\’m pointedly mentioning it in regards to Christmas wishlists but meh. People ignore me. 😉
I\’m so frustrated at the Sherlock book. -_- I\’m in danger of bashing so like I should NOT talk anymore…it was just so so frustraaaaating.
Wow! busy november! I had no school and just all the NZ ncea externals (8 3hour exams but I left early for some) and was otherwise free. I got super busy with lots of stuff though. And a piano exam which I practiced a lot for. And my poor flute and ukulele were abandoned! And I went to wellington. And I read a lot (no duh) including Let It Snow.
Hi Shar, We DID have a busy november. Great minds think alike. (also read the same books which your loving sister generously retrieved from the library for you)
AW YOU GUYS ARE SISTERS?!! SO AWESOME YOU BLOG TOGETHER!!! I have literally just stopped blogging with my sister. (It\’s not her interest anymore…she\’s totally into flutes/preforming and then has so many exams. Wah. I\’m alooooone.)
Yes, yes, Shar, you have an awesome sister who retrieves books from the library for you. I make my sister do likewise so I don\’t have to leave the house. *relaxes amongst piles of books*
Wow! Congrats on everything you did this month (NaNoWriMo(We), changing platforms and just aaaaallllll the reading!!). I’m afraid to say that I only read seven books in November (not that great for me), but with Christmas holidays and all the Christmas spirit going around I’m sure I’ll manage a few more this month. Currently I’m reading Grave Mercy and LOVING it!!! Have you read it??? You have to!!!
Great post as usual 🙂
Hey but 7 books is better than nothing, right?!! I read most of these in the last week of November because I was away with no blogs or internet or anything distracting. 0.0 Shows how much time I waffle on the internet, I suppose?!!
Ohh, I\’ve heard of Grave Mercy I think! I\’m going to look it up again!
So glad to hear you loved White Cat! I’ve been interested to read it ever since Stephanie Perkins tweeted about it. Egg & Spoon? Hilarious? And with a super cool cover? *is intrigued* Would love to read a post on your new puppy! He/she is adorable and I can’t wait for more pics!
YOU NEED WHITE CAT! YOU NEED IT! YOU DO! I cannot scream about that series enough I tell you. 😉 Egg and Spoon is so so soooo funny. xD
LOOK AT ALL THE PRETTY BOOKS AND THE ADORABLE FLUFFY PUPPYYYYY! I really, really, really want to start reading Holly Black and Maggie Stiefvater’s books – THEY SOUND AMAZING! I also can’t get over you wrote a book in week, that’s incredible!
YOU NEED BOTH HOLLY BLACK AND MAGGIE STIEFVATER THEY ARE MY FAVOURITE AUTHORS IN ALL THE WORLD.
You are a machine! Look at you, working your way through so many books AND finishing your NaNo. Great job 😀 and if that’s not enough you also switched to your pretty new blog. Seems like November was a busy, but nice eventful month for you!
I read most of these when I had no internet. xD Goes to show how much time i spend blogging, right?! *hugs new blog* It was a little bit tooooo stressful, but still heaps of fun!
Oh I love the new layout! (Actually I have no idea when it changed, so I might be a complete jerk for pointing it out now… but I hope not. I’ve been so swamped my blog visiting time has decreased so much in the last few weeks, but I’m trying to be better. But, anyhow… I LOVE the new look.) 🙂 Congrats on NaNoWriMo! *high five* You kicked November’s ass. You should be proud. AND OMG PUPPEH! So freaking cute.
I hope your December is as amazing as November… but maybe with some more downtime. 🙂
Oh it just changed like 4 days ago! lol You\’re fine! XD I\’ve done the Big WordPress Change and pheewwwwf so difficult but so glad I took the plunge!
That’s…a busy month. And congrats on NaNo. I’ve never read Neverending Story although I liked the movie… I’ll bet that is a good one. I’ve been curious about Atlantia and enjoying All New X- Men (on and off).
The blog looks great, BTW. Yay for moving to WP… I may do that one of these days.
I haven\’t even seen the Neverending Story movie! GAH. I\’m behind, aren\’t I?!! My library doesn\’t have the All New X-Men first volume which I\’m sooo frustrated about. But I\’m reading anyway. x) Aw, thank you!! I\’m so glad you like the new look!
Ya’ know, I have slowed down reading. I still read all the time, but more audiobooks because I can do chores with them! So more done in my house and yard, but since audio books take longer fewer books! I only read 11 i n November.
Glad you got to see Sydney! It sounds like Manhattan if there are so many people. I hate being in crowds.
Audiobooks are awesome when you have other stuff to do, right?! Ah, but they totally do take longer. *nods* I\’ve read like 5 books in December and 3 have been audios! I listen while I do my origami business.
Ugh, I hate crowds too. I kind of discovered I don\’t like to travel after going to Sydney. >.> It\’s a shame and most of my family are kind of rolling their eyes, buuuut, HEY. I just don\’t like crowds!
GAH I looked at your stack of books and saw Ash (great fairy tale retelling with a twist!) and Rooms (I have a signed copy of that and it’s on my list to read soon) but most importantly Blue Lily, Lily Blue. I’ll try to keep the squealing to a minimum. Only a few more weeks till I get my own copy and this makes me ridiculously happy. ALSO: Signed books are awesome, congrats on getting a signed copy of Black Ice! 😀
And of course, the puppy is all adorableness and I’m certainly going to leave a *squealy* comment over on that post soon. So look forward to that. 😉
Also, I’m curious–what did you think of Charm and Strange?
I seriously am excited for Ash!! I hope I like Rooms. *gulps* I just haven\’t had a good run with adult books lately but still. Isn\’t it about a murder? I should be fine. 😉
BLUE LILY!!! *flails forever*
I ADORED Charme & Strange. It was freaky and horrible and sickening…but so so well written. I nearly cried.
I just started ROOMS the other day and I have indeed caught wind of a murder. It’s partially narrated by ghosts, too, which is kinda cool.
Ooh, that’s awesome. I’ll have to try CHARM AND STRANGE soon!
Congrats on your speedy race through NaNoWriMo…and for joining the WP platform.
I love WP, and had nine blogs here…now ten, as I moved one of my last two Blogger ones over this week. I didn’t move everything over, however; just the last year’s posts.
Hope you enjoy it here. You had a great November!
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Oh WP is the best and I wish I\’d moved sooner. XD NO REGRETS!! I lost a load of comments in the move which is sad, but still! Lots and lots of awesome and I\’m happy with the new platform.xD
WHERE DID THE YEAR GO?! My first official review went live a year ago on the 10th of December. I have been blogging for a YEAR! WTH?!
Welcome to WordPress. I hope you love it and that your puppy doesn’t eat it. 🙂

Second Run Reviews
I KNOOOOOW. IT WENT TO FAST. *grabs at last strands of year*
*holds WordPress out of puppy\’s reach* WELL. He does bite my computer. -_- BUT I LOVE WORDPRESS!!
HOW DID I MISS YOUR BEAUTIFUL BOOKS POST. *snatches it* My email is all messed up though so that’s probably why. BUT HOW DARE MY EMAIL DEPRIVE ME OF A NOTEBOOK–ahem, PAPER FURY POST. *glares at email and strokes lost post* I shall reads it now precious.
(also Cait you better read my post for your blogger tag. I filled it with all sorts of Cait-ish stuff like a good minion. It was hilarious fun.)
I\’M SORRY. It\’s probably my email subscription being weird?!! I did redirect it and stuff but gaaaah sometimes things go wonky. And Since I did the redirection myself, I\’m suspicious, lol.
I\’M GOING TO YOUR BLOG RIGHT NOOOOOW.
I want to read Holly Black’s book. And I see a bunch more too. We have some similar tastes.
Your puppy is adorable. You know, you mentioned how busy November was. That puppy will make December very busy too. Have fun with the little sweetie!
THEN YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE EPIC TASTE. *nods* Holly Black is soooo good. Seriously: White Cat. YOU NEED IT. December is going to be insane with this little pup to keep me busy. 😉
White Cat is definitely a wise choice for top pick! I can’t believe I’ve never finished the trilogy but such has been my way the past few years. My goal for January is to finish at least 5 trilogies that I’ve enjoyed but put off finishing.
You didn\’t finish?! OHHH THEY\’RE ALL SO AMAZING THOUGH! Okay, well, *cough* I have Black Heart to go yet. (I kind of giggle because Holly Black wrote Black Heart…yes, I have a mature sense of humour.) I want to finish off more things next year too. I want to finish all the Riordan books next year. *nods* It\’s my goal.
BLLB!!!! READ IMMEDIATELY!!! Aristotle and Dante is gorgeous as well 😀 I’m so glad to hear you loved Coldtown – I bought it a few weeks ago and I’m just waiting for this contemporary BINGE to go away so I can read it, lol.
Psh, *some* books.
I WANT TO BUT I\’M FREAKING OUT. It\’s like how I felt about Throne of Glass. I knoooow it\’s like a 5-star read, I\’m just too emotionally torn up to read it. XD lol I want to read The Dream Thieves again though LIKE RIGHT NOW EVEN THOUGH I ONLY READ IT JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO.
I’m tired just reading about your November! Puppies are the cutest thing ever but they do take so much time. Fantastic books this week! Hope you love them all. Have a great week and enjoy your new WP home!
*collapses in exhaustion with you* We deserve ice cream. Me for living it, you for reading it. Ohh, puppies do take a heck of a lot of time. I haven\’t read for AGES. >_<
Holy cow, have you been busy!! You have some great books in your haul or that you’ve read. Where do you find the time? I liked Black Ice and we love The Raven Cycle books, too. Hope you enjoy them all 🙂 Here’s ours: BiblioJunkies Happy Reading! ~ Bel
JUST A LITTLE BIT BUSY YES. *pants in exhaustion* I didn\’t have internet for the last week of Nov (because I was away in a caravan!) so I just had unlimited reading time. 😉 I got a lot done!
Haha, wow! That is one very busy November. I think you might actually have done everything. I have no clue how you managed to find the time to do all of that, but I applaud you. And… okay… it’s time… OMG PUPPY!!!! That puppy is so adorable! I am very jealous 😉 I always wanted a puppy but we weren’t home enough, so I’ve always had cats instead. But that puppy is so cute, I would get totally distracted by his cuteness and never get anything done.
I think my brain actually seriously wants to DO EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. Gahhhh. I need a holiday from myself. 0.0 BUT PUPPY! OMG!! PUPPY!! I was just watching Supernatural and he decided to sleep on my head. Sooo stinking cute.
“OH LET ME FLAIL LIKE A GLORIOUS WILD ANTELOPE!” Yes yes yes yes yes. I too bought Blue Lily – yup, I marched right into Waterstones and paid full price for it. That was more than a month ago, but I’ve not read it yet. I’m waiting for the perfect time kay! Also I got distracted by Department 19 book 4. THAT SERIES MAN. THAT SERIES. ~does the fangirl quiver~
Also, PUPPY PUPPY PUPPY. I’ll read your puppy post at some point. PUPPY.
ALSO, you should read Ash and How to Train Your Dragon ooohhhhhhh what books! What books!!!
PS thanks for the Twitter follow thanks thanks thanks
OH I UNDERSTAND. I\’ve had it for like a week and I still haven\’t read it. I don\’t know! I\’M TOO NERVOUS OR SOMETHING. I did this with Heir of Fire too. >_<
I know I’ve already told you about this, but… PUPPY! Dogs are awesome and are truly man’s best friend, so I heartily approve of this new minion of yours 😉 I’ve always dreamt of going to Sydney one day, but Australia isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so it will have to wait. Haha.
You’ve read so many books! I really envy you – having written and completed your NaNoWriMo challenge while keeping up this busy blog of yours while reading that amount of books… WOWZA. You’re a superwoman, lady.
THEY ARE TRULY HUMAN\’S BEST FRIEND I JUST ajfdsklA OVER MY DOG SO MUCH. You totally need to see Sydney. The Opera House is aaaamazing. Although it looks so weird in real life compared to the pictures. It\’s like 3 separate buildings. I did not know that.
Hehe. Well, the blog DID lag a bit!! So I\’m not, like, a mastermind at this by any means. 😉
Wow, you read a lot of books! Thanks for the heads-up on the young Sherlock books–I was actually toying with reading one of these the other day, but put it back because I’ve already checked out about half the library. I should probably read and return those before moving on. Maybe.
I bet Sydney was amazing! I hate crowds though. Ugh. But maybe it was worth it for the sights?
