This post is a little different to my average weekly-recap. But it’s divided into organised sections I’m very proud and you can skip and read as you will.
Oh but don’t forget my giveaway for 2x copies of Nona And Me (AUS only). Enter! Win! Be fabulous!
I’m linking up with these memes: Because they’re awesome.
(This is 2 weeks worth of books, just so you know.)
I bought The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure! I never buy new books so this is a huge deal in my small pocket of the universe. In Australia, Big W had all 3 for $19…which is a steal.
Thank you Penguin for All The Bright Places! This was a complete surprise, so I know zero about it. But it’s pitched as Eleanor & Park meets The Fault In Our Stars…which are HUGE shoes to fill.
Thanks UPQ for The Sky So Heavy! Bring on the apocalypse. Yes, I’m mildly obsessed with the end of the world? So what? And thanks Black Inc for Nona and Me! I have a giveaway going for this as we speak.
A brief outing of op-shops (thrift stores) brought to my clammy hands The Knife Of Never Letting Go (which I literally read a few days ago and absolutely loved…and now I own it!!) and City of Fallen Angels. And I was given Masquerade!
Lastly, thanks Simon and Schuster for You. Although, unfortunately this was a huge mistake. I got horribly confused and thought it was You by Charles Beniot. Which is YA. This is not. But the title just has me thinking of Monsters Inc…I can’t help it!
September was my reading month. Which means October will be my writing month. I’m excited! I’m tossing between so many projects. Do I rewrite? Draft? Sci-fi or paranormal or apocalypse or zombies? THE DECISION IS HARD.
I also finished the last round of edits with my agent on my fantasy manuscript! THIS ABSOLUTELY CALLS FOR CAKE. Possibly a nap. Mostly cake. There is a high likelihood of my wee book going on submissions to publishers at the end of October/November.
I need to flail.
Which I consider a mildly successful reading-month.
Ratings? I’ve read way more 3 star books then I wanted to. Am I overloaded?! I have read 170 books this year… It is mildly possible I’m getting hard to please. But I’m pretty proud of four 5-star books!
Apparently you enjoyed:
– 28 Reasons Why Being A Bookworm Sucks (I enjoyed that one too)

People also found us with these interesting search results:
– how often do boosk in teh last (Work on your spelling.)
– green eggs and ham cover (I didn’t. I DID NOT.)
– pepperoni pizza (Okay, yes, I totally talk about pizza a lot here.)
– why people don’t read (It’s a sad fact of life.)
– alice in wonderland scenery (Did you find any?)
– careful or you’ll end up in my next book (Excellent warning, my friend.)
I love twitter. Sometimes, while I’m there, funny stuff goes down.
Non-readers underestimate how EXHAUSTING reading is. I’m literally living multiple lives. Bookworms need naps. Cake, perhaps. #amreading— Cait (@NotebookSisters) September 25, 2014
Mostly I just read this month, BUT, (as I mildly mentioned) I went op-shopping (thrift-storing) with my mother and sisters and…because clothes picking stresses me greatly, I ducked into a 2nd hand bookshop. And drooled. And found the most amazing Charles Dicken classics with wooden covers — okay, but I DIGRESS!
The store owner took one look at me and held up this book, “Do you know what genre this is?”
It just happened to be Skulduggery Pleasant and I, obviously, look like a very capable human. I helped her shelve it in the correct section. And I perhaps helped her with two more books. Because I am a fine example of humans who read, she gave me a book. FOR FREE.
It absolutely made my day. Because books. And nice person.
I want to hear about your Septembers! And if you did a weekly (or monthly) wrap up…link me in the comments. So I might read your brilliance.
BUT WAIT. Don’t get yet! I have two questions which you must answer: best AND worst book of this month? Go! Go!
