After watching a video where the Catching Fire cast captioned their portraits (seriously, it’s hilarious. Go watch it), I looked at my book covers and mentally captioned them.
Caution: Don’t take life too seriously. But, honestly, I do like these books.
I had a little (okay, a lot) of fun with it, so this will be a regular feature!
Teardrop by Lauren Kate
What does the cover really say? “I am holding onto this wave, because if it recedes I will be uncomfortably nude. Gosh, I hope nobody sees me.”
The Selection by Kiera Cass
What does the cover really say? “Be the crown. You are the crown. Is my hair coming undone?”
Poison Dance by Livia Blackburne
What does the cover really say? Boy: “She’s so pretty.” Girl: “I could totally lop off his head in 2.3 seconds.”
Since You Asked by Maurene Goo
What does the cover really say? “I am hip and cool in my trendy sunglasses. I’m way too hip for a normal ‘duck face’. This is called the ‘numb dentist lip face’.”
Partials by Dan Wells
What does the cover really say? “You can conquer anything with perfect hair.”
Shatter Me by Taherah Mafi
What does the cover really say? “Fear my tutu.”
Interrupted by Rachel Coker
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
What does the cover really say? “Reach for me, Mister Baggins! Don’t you let go now!”
Cait thinks life is too funny to take seriously. Unless of course, something is serious. Like the bookshop has sold out of the book she’s dying to buy. That is serious. Grief will prevail. Right now, she’s reading ANOTHER LITTLE PIECE OF MY HEART and flaking on the lounge because it’s too hot to function.
