Has this month been particularly exciting? Eh…
Well, I mean…I only finally ANNOUNCED MY BOOK DEAL, COMING OUT IN JUNE 2018 WHICH I HAVE SPENT THE LAST FOREVER MENTALLY EXPLODING ABOUT AND THAT WHEEZING OVEREXCITED PUDDLE IN THE CORNER IS JUST ME.
So obviously it’s been a chill month.
(HAHAH HAH HAHHAHA.)
I am not chill.
Anyway. Apart from that, October has also been exciting because:
- I finally read Turtles All the Way Down by John Green and it WAS FANTASTIC
- I ate chocolate-orange ice cream and wow, peoples, I just found the meaning of life
- I read SEVEN 5-star books and I’m kind of screaming???? When does that happen?? Who is this nice person. Is it me.
- I ANNOUNCED MY OWN FREAKING BOOK IS COMING OUT IN JUNE 2018. (Wow that is brand new information.)
- GODSGRAVE #2: I’m so freaking nervous to read this. Everyone keeps screaming in pain so it should be good??? But am I ready??
- BEFORE SHE IGNITES: Um I hauled this last month and FORGOT haha…excuse me I’ve lost my mind.
- LITTLE & LION: This was gorgeously diverse with POC, bipolar, and queer rep, buuuuut it was just a bit slow and I felt it used the bipolar character as the “inevitable ticking bomb to ruin everyone’s lives” which sucks. It’s a common trope. ★★★☆☆
- TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN: John Green can do no wrong and I’m a puddle of emotion on the floor. ★★★★★
- AUTOBOYOGRAPHY: This book is so sweet and painful I may CRY. Also all about writers!! New favourite. ★★★★★
- WILD BEAUTY: I’ve been looking forward to this book FOREVERRRR. Favourite author! Also came in the #Owlcrate box which 10/10 recommend. I also have a discount code of “FURY” to get 15% off if you are keen. (Be keen.)
- NIGHT OF CAKE AND PUPPETS: Super cute novella in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series, but it’s about Mik and Zuzana’s first date. IT’S SO MAGICAL AND PRETTY. No joke the inside is insanely gorgeous. I’ve got photos of it on my instagram here. ★★★★☆
(Thanks to Scholastic, Hot Keys, Bloomsbury, Text Publishing, UQP Books, and Allen & Unwin!)
(All unsolicited!)
- THIS MORTAL COIL: I have legit never been so FREAKING BORED IN MY LIFE. It’s so predictable it’s actually hilarious…50% through and I’ve been reading it for like a week. #dies
- UNEARTHED: I adore Amie Kaufman so this should be fun! Aliens and stuff? I think.
- 36 QUESTIONS THAT CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT YOU: This sounds like the opposite of my thign buuuut we’ll try it?
- THE EMPRESS #2: I really loved The Diabolic so sequel time!! Blood and spaceships!!
- SHADOWBLACK #2: Look I didn’t love book one. I thought it was a bit tacky, but it WAS funny so I will still try the sequel.
- THE START OF ME AND YOU: It was legit nearly funny how boring this was. ★★☆☆☆
- THE BUILD-UP SEASON: I love this author and I love Aussie lit and it tackled super brutal/heavy topics…but you can’t excuse abuse because you’ve been abused. The protagonist was cruel.

Don’t forget to scroll/hover over the covers! They flip around and will show you a mini review and star-rating!
Also click on them to take you to my review. HOW FUN IS THIS. Spoiler: Very fun.
T O P P O S T S:
I N T R I G U I N G S E A R C H E S:
(These are things people have searched to find my blog and I’m helpfully answering them.)
- “sould adults read fantasy books” —> absolutely not. They need to live in the REAL WORLD and have NO FUN. I mean do adults even read books?? I think they read taxes or something.
- “books where the vilain” —> my favourite books are WHERE THE VILLAIN too.
- “they said my story was rubbish” —> RUDE. There are two ways to deal with this and they are: (1) ignore and practise and achieve and conquer anyway, or (2) eat them.
- “what is book blog” —> for me it’s a blog where I pretend to talk about books but it’s just a thin veil for me talking about food all the time. (Cake is delicious fyi.)
- “strength and weaken of writing” —> probably for you…spelling. For me, being too amazing I guess is my weakness.
- “always have a book in tow” —> I tow my books too. I put them on little tugboats and tow them out to see with me.
- “they not agree witw other authors” —> HOW APPALLING TO THINK NOT EVERYONE AGREES. DISGUSTING. THE WORLD HAS FAIRLY ENDED.
- “totally relatable books” —> I read a cookbook once and wow. It was like meeting an old friend who I could also devour.
- “which type of people should read we were liars” —> not the truthers
- “disadvantage of reading a lot” —> You spend less time in reality so don’t have as much salty bitter resentment for how the world is a trash fire. Poor you.
- “too much time reading 26” —> It’s time to move onto 27 I agree.
- “is it weird that i kinda fangirl over random stuff” —> YEAH BECAUSE IT MEANS YOU’RE NOT DEAD INSIDE. HOW DARE YOU.
- “wat happens to celena sadothien at the end of throne of glass?” —> Hopefully no spin off books that’s for sure.
- “clash of kngs book review boring” —> YES.
- “what does the writing process look like” —> Oh just this.
- “what’s the next ya novel trends 2018” —> BOOKS ABOUT BOY PIANISTS…haha hahahahah hhaha. I’m sorry. #Reference #To #My #Own #Book #Yes #I #Fell #That #Low
- “flail of fury.movie” —> this is a documentary of my life I guess
- “bookstagram what is” —> It’s just a lot of photos of pretty books because we’re really sick of looking at photos of your kid and your food ok. We focus on the important things.
DID YOU KNOW I ACTUALLY HAVE AN ETSY STORE???
I only mention it like…never. But I’ve been rather slack with it lately so there is that. ANYWAY. Because you need something handmade with love and evil from me — definitely come check out my paper creations. I sell a lot of #Bookstagram props too!

- Also here’s a post about everything you need to know about the movie.

Anyway follow me on Twitter. I’m hilarious and humble.
I actually won’t be doing NaNoWriMo at the beginning of November this year.
I KNOW. It’s a huge change in tradition and it’s very much displeasing me. However I’m caught up with work/secret project, and they demand attention (#rude) so I will still do NaNo, but probably towards the middle or end of the month. This means you have a fantastic chance to beat me. Go for it.
“So what’s your NaNo project about, Cait?” you ask.
It’s called Saint No One and it’s about:
- a girl on a hit list
- a billionaire’s son who never walks because he dances everywhere
- a talent contest they accidentally end up partnering in after SHE KIDNAPS HIM
- so yes it’s a hATE TO LOVE story and I’m such a fan of that trope
- they’re wanted and hunted and it’s a contemporary but can I squeeze in some gunfire?
- coffee appreciation
- dyslexia and anxiety and depression
- dancing
- a boy who cannot keep his sassy mouth shut and this lands him near death at least all the time
- epic feminism rants
murderNO NO IT’S A CONTEMPORARY IT’LL BE CHILL I’M SURE- Also PINTEREST BOARD AESTHETICS
Anyway I’m VERY EXCITED to write and also VERY SAD it’s not happening immediately.
So for now it’s definitely NaNOOOOOWriMo. But we’ll figure it out.
- IF I SAY I HAVE A BOOK COMING OUT IN JUNE 2018 AGAIN YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO STRANGLE ME.
- hey.
- guess what!
- I–
- Excuse me.
- Also I’d make a great Deadpool, don’t you think?
- I’ve written over a MILLION words this year. Including: 650,000-words of actual novels (6 novels actually) and 230,000-words of outlines (11 outlines, the biggest at 40K) and 233,000-words of rewritten novels (3 novels and every word was rewritten SO YEAH). Which makes a grand total of = 1,132,000. Unless I mathed wrong which is likely because I’m bad at maths. Anyway. OK Cait wow do you ever sleep.
- No sleep. Go for years without sleep.
- Due to still being without a good local library, I’ve been reading backlist books on my TBR! What madness is this???? So (a) I’ve had a lot of EXCELLENT reads because I bought books I’d like, #WILD, and (b) it’s weird that I’m reading MORE than I’m collecting. Who am I. I can’t be functional like this??? What if I run out of books.
- I have run out of bookshelves though.
- RIP me.
- I suggested my family move out so I have room for more shelves, but they’re not a fan.
- The saga of my hilarious texts with my sister continues:
- I’m so amusing. Also the latter text is referring to my own book, A Thousand Perfect Notes. SHE HASN’T READ IT YET EVEN THOUGH I KEEP OFFERING.
- DOES ANYONE WANT TO BUY MY SISTER. SHE’S A DISAPPOINTMENT.
- Speaking of my BOOK…(pause for you to strangle me) it is up on Goodreads and it’s stunningly surreal seeing people add it. I cannot get over that. It’s been added over a thousand times…and like, mate, it’s only been announced for like a week. #SCREAMING
- I don’t deserve you all, honestly. You’re lovely and your support actually makes a WORLD of difference.
- I have received my first 1-star Goodreads review which means I am a Real Author™ now.
- ALSO HEIDI HEILIG, AKA AMAZING AUTHOR, AKA ACTUAL REAL LIVE AUTHOR, COMMENTED THIS ON MY BOOK RELEASE TWEET:
- d e a d
- I admire her so much so this is like…I can’t. My brain is screaming. This news just in: I’m a melted puddle of a fangirl and chill is never never coming back.
- I finished my Goodreads goal of reading 200 books this year! Because somehow I still have no life.
- A lot of new shows are coming out on Netflix and I’m celebrating by watching 0%. I want to see Season 2 of Riverdale and Stranger Things but I feel guilty if I watch TV instead of reading??? I am strange. I’m so strange I’m Eleven’s older sibling.
- Also I’m REALLY behind on comments. I do absolutely appreciate all your support and love to show it back to you, but I’m just super busy currently. Yes it’s raining on my face too. I will catch up. PROMISE.
- I’ve been re-reading The Raven Cycle. For the 3rd time shh, I know I know. It’s a bit of comfort reading because this month has been intense, but also because I just freaking LOVE how Maggie Stiefvater puts words together. #Goals.
- I mean. Why have one raven boy when you can collect them all.
OH MY GOD. IT CANNOT BE THE END OF OCTOBER. I’VE ONLY POSTED THREE TIMES AND ONE OF THOSE WAS MY SEPTEMBER RECAP.
I think I’m doing NaNo? This is a terrible idea and I will definitely regret it this year. I mean, I’m already drowning in everything I have to do. :’)
I neither have Instagram nor understand the concept of a story, but those look hilarious.
Netflix is VERY distracting (voice of experience) and I am impressed with you for managing to avoid it.
NANOOOOO IS HERE TO TAUNT US ALLLLL. *screams into the void* I kind of wanted to finish editing this secret project before it starts. But I have 90K to rewrite in 3 days so hahaah hahaha. NO. I hope you do NaNo though! It’s fun and I’m going to miss the howling over everyone in week 1 and that’s sad.😂
(I’m glad you like my stories on instagram.😂 I’m basically terrible and have fun.)
I really struggle to focus on TV shows these days actually…but I WANT to see Stranger Things S2! My twitter feed is full of it.
Cait, You have a book coming out. I think I speak for all of us when I say that you are allowed to babble on about as much as you want. It is endearing.
I am all about retreads. I will often reread when I get myself in a slump. I am rereading The Scorpio Races right now. Because October. Clearly I agree with you about Maggie Stiefvater!
I AM GLAD, TARA.😂 And I’m sure I’ll calm down a little eventually haha. (No wait. The cover will come out eventually and then you’ll all have to suffer the levels of rabid excitement again. SO FUN.)
Rereads are so comforting!! It’s like you KNOW you’er going to get an excellent story! I’m rereading The Scorpio Races on Nov 1st because I’m super into the asesthetic of course. Ahem.
YAY I’M GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD MONTH. I had a decidedly weird month because of travelling, and I haven’t read any stand out books except for A God in Ruins (except I’m iffy about the ending but whatever. I love rereading! I especiall love reading a book and then discovering that you’ve read i before, that’s always so fun, and it happened to me with The Morning Gift in September. I am not prepared for NaNoWriMo because my computer died. I knew it was on its way out but t’s very annoying and I won’t be able to ge the new one until I get back home (I’m currently living on my own in a strange city and doing an internship which is very very scary and writing should be an escape but it’s not because of the dumbe laptop so I”m reading to escape instead) I had some pumpkin custard icecream in Thailand and it was DELICIOUS
Travelling is super cool though!! And I haven’t actually ever forgotten I’ve read a book before, but I’ve picked up some to reread and gone: “Wow I did not see that coming!”…you know…even though I’d read it before. *rolls eyes at self* 😂😂
Noooo I’m sorry to hear about your computer! But omg congrats on your internship! Have you moved officially then? I hope it goes really well.
(I have never had pumpkin custard ice cream but I LOVE pumpkin so it sounds awesome!)
Oh my goodness, FIRST (lol couldn’t resist xD) well at least before I refresh the page haha
Cait, I always loovvve your monthly recaps!! 😀
Also, wutttt, how did I not know Adam Silvera is writing another book and with BECKY ALBERTALLI? <33333 Thanks so much for sharing!!
Simon vs. was sooo good and I'm currently reading "The Upside of Unrequited" by her and it's also verrry good so far!! 😀
And I can't wait to read your novel!! :)))
Lots of love,
Ayla
Yep, definitely not first anymore xD
I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKE THEM!! I swear I ramble so much, I feel like congratulating anyone who gets to the end!😂 And zomgggg isn’t the Albertalli and Silvera news the best?! I keep calling it the Adam Albertalli book and I’m okay with that.😂
Looove that name!! xD
I reread my books all the time (probably because I don’t have any money for new ones!) OH MY GOD you’re NaNo story sounds soooooooo goood!!!!! I love feminist rants and hit lists!!!! YOUR BOOK!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!
My favorite ice cream flavour is yogurt which is really wierd since I’m not a yogurt person in real life. But I love everything about ice cream so….
Epic post as always!! Your recaps are my favorite things ever!! I’ve been looking forward to it for weeks.
I’M SUPER EXCITED THAT YOU LIKE MY NANO STORY.😂 It is a huge conglomeration of things I looove. And I didn’t even know you could get yogurt flavoured ice cream.😂 I have LEARNED THINGS, Poppy.
Sounds like you’ve had a busy month! 🙂
Again, congrats on the book deal! And your NaNo novel sounds awesome! I’m sure you’ll still overtake me, even starting late. I seem to write at a snail’s pace these days! 🙂
Plus I’m behind on my NaNo prep, because I literally only decided to do it this year the other day… I’m pretty excited about my idea though!
Have a great month! 🙂
IT WAS BUSY. *collapses in a puddle* I mean not THAT busy though because I’ve been sitting on my book deal news for a while.😂 But busy catching up with all the promo and comments haha (I’ve loved it though!) And eeep, hopefully I don’t become too tired to end up doing NaNo though! I’m a bit worried about that.
I’m super excited that you’re doing NaNo too though. Eeeeep.
um, didn’t you end up doing Camp NaNo in, like, a weekend? I’m sure you can handle NaNo in two weeks. 😀 You are a dragon! *sends motivational chocolate and cake*. We all believe in you! And we’re all waiting for your book! 😀
yes…yes I did.😂 And I will do NaNo this weekend so shhh just give me a second.😂
Can you PLEASE read Before She Ignites soon? Because I’m pretty sure you’ll either love it or tear it to pieces and I want to see which one you pick. (That said, be warned . . . there aren’t as many dragons as you want there to be. But there are SOME. And some of the ones that are there are adorable, so yeah. Not complaining.)
Still very excited for your new book. Congrats again! Also, thank you for your continuing saga of “You tweet something // Awesome Author responds // You get excited.” It makes me feel better about how excited I get about interacting with my favorites.
You go, Cait, rereading The Raven Cycle. I should probably reread it too sometime (I lowkey really want to) but there’s too many new books to read. Also I’m rediscovering C.S. Lewis and making a list of all his books that I didn’t read before but want to read now, which is basically all of them, so . . .
I’m also doing NaNoWriMo! But I’m rebelling and editing my novella that I wrote this summer. It’s a Snow White/Goose Girl retelling set in an Asian-esque setting. (I say Asian-esque because there’s characters from a Mongolian-based country and a country that’s sort of Japan but with more infighting, even though the countries where most of the action takes place are both based on China.) It should be super fun, but I have no idea how I’m going to find time to write it, so . . . wish me luck!
I WILL!! I WILL!! I actually am annoyed I haven’t yet?!? It’s going on my pile for November at least for sure definitely (that saying I’ve read like 3 books this month so far and I’m dying). I’m getting annoyed at books promising dragons and not GIVING dragons though. How dare they.
eeeep, thank you, Sarah!! And I’m like SUCH a dorky fangirl about when famous authors reply to my tweets! And then they’re like “I can’t wait to read your book” and I’m like “excuse me I have to go bury myself 90 ft under the ocean floor now.” Like yay? But also: help.
My TBR hates me for all this rereading.😂 There are so so many new good books to read and WE NEED MORE HOURS!
And yay that you’re rebelling for NaNo! I nearly counted my editing towards my word count but decided I don’t need to because I can still squeeze in a novel some time. I hope.😂 And your culture and countries sound really interesting in your novel! GOOD LUCK!
nano? nooooooo, I’m not ready. I haven’t named any of the characters except for the mom, and shes not really in it/important until the second book sooooooooooooooooooo im dying. I also haven’t decided ANYTHING about the villan at all, like, not even what gender they are, much less look and motivation and master plan….
and how many elves should they be. and should i figure out how to make them more important? they gotta pull heir own weight ya know.
*cries*
Most crazily, ~Olive
I HOPE YOU GOT IT SORTED, OLIVE!! GOOD LUCK!
ADAM ALBERTALLI OMG CAIT OUR DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE. I actually don’t think we’ll survive the emotional turmoil that that book will bring about. Nope. Gawd, Albertalli is life.
I am on a whole other spectrum of excited about Love, Simon. Literally dead. Also omg Nick Robinson? YAS. That’s a great choice!
YAY FOR YOU BOOK FOREVER.
I keep having weirdly good months for reading 5-starers. I’m getting to the point where I’m like, okay book, you have to start being bad – people are going to get suspicious if I appear to be reading books I like this month. PLUS, I too have been reading books I’ve bought and have been sitting forlornly on my shelf. I am very good at picking books I like, it seems – why don’t I read these more often??
I’m so pumped for NaNo – but I’m not stressed so I think I’m broken. I desperately need a kick up the butt to get into the thick of my book. I’m milling around the 20k mark on my THIRD. RE. WRITE. *goes insane* so I need to plunge into the serious knife stabbing and magic-wielding chaos soon if I ever plan to finish the damn thing. Sigh.
I’m just glad I’m not the only one saying Adam Albertalli.😂😂 And they’re such adorably good friends on twitter?!? LIKE WHY ARE AUTHORS SO CUTE THIS ISN’T FAIR ON MY EMOTIONS. I NEED THEIR BOOK NOW, NOT IN 10 MONTHS TIME OR WHATEVER.😂 Also Love Simon is going to be freaking AMAZING. I’m so excited!!
and hhaha I’m glad you’re having a good reading streak too!! It feels weird when we love everything though right?!
I’m not a huge rereader, mostly a spot rereader, where I just go back and revisit my favorite portions of a book over and over and over. The book I’m currently reading is about 2/3’s reread, though, as it’s a collection, and I’ve already read two of the three stories in it. But they’re good stories, and it’s likely to be my only 5-star this month,
But that’s only because it’s only the second book that I’ve read this month that isn’t my own, and I have a policy against rating my own books.
My October has mostly been absorbed in editing all of my books for my Bookshelf Overhaul, because I decided to give new covers to all six of my novels, and since I was doing that, why not just EDIT them all and make them even shinier. If you’ve ever wondered if it’s possible to edit two epic novels and a regular novel in one month, well … it apparently is, because I just did. *collapses.*
The two epics – Water Princess, Fire Prince, and Lady Dragon, Tela Du, are currently free on kindle, though, if anyone’s interested.
Best Ice Cream is Lemon.
And I’ll be ready for NaNo just as soon as I finish reading this book and I write three reviews to schedule on O.Scarlett.
*collapses again*
That’s cool to go back and just read spots! I tend to be more like “must start at A and finish at Z”, although I confess to spot-reading my own book sometimes.😂
Oh yay for all the cover redoes and edits of your books!! That sounds like a LOT of work but also epic that you’re making them even better! Sometimes I feel like a writer never stops editing.😂
Every time I see your Instagram stories, I imagine you must have been sitting there on your phone for a bit chuckling to yourself about your immeasurable wit… then hitting post. 😛
SUPER SECTRET PROJECT seems SUPER IMPORTANT so it’s probably good to prioritize that instead of NEW ALBEIT DELIGHTFUL SOUNDING NOVEL. I’m sure you’ll finish your NaNoNovel in a weekend again. XD
I AM ALSO EXXCITED ABOUT KIERSTEN’S WHITES NEW BOOK! 😀
Sometimes I wonder why I comment when I don’t have concise thoughts?
CONGRATS ON THE BOOK AGAIN YAY!
<3
DUDE YES. I spend an unreasonable amount of time rewatching my own stories too because I’m so amusing. (Shhhh don’t tell anyone I’m pretending to be HUMBLE.) 😂😂😂
SUPER SECRET STUFF WORKED OUT REALLY WELL AND I’M SCREAMING. I love being an author but like also I can’t tell anyone anything anymore?!?😂I’m dying.
I only reread David Mitchell. Congrats on your book deal, I thought you are in Australia but how come UK gets your book first? So un-Aussie like. And.
I will gladly take your sister off your hands, since I have none, i’d even take your babysitting duties XD
Oh, haha, I’m being published in the UK because I wanted to be!
SAINT NO ONE SOUNDS LIKE MY KIND OF BOOK
also i think you forgot to mention, you have a book coming ou- oh wait… you strangled yourself… because… you’re secretly deadpool….
YOUR SISTERLY TEXTS ARE AMAZING.
ALSO I added your book on Goodreads and basically was flipping out about it and my mom goes “oh it’s that furious cait person, isn’t it?” so you’re a furious cait.
EXCELLENT. I HOPE IT WORKS OUT.😂 I’m going to start writing it tomorrow but I just threw myself down like 12 plot holes so we’ll see.😂😂 Also I do like being Deadpool with a book coming out. Seems multitalented of me.
Furious Cait omg. Why is that not my author name. I LOVE IT. (Thank you to your mum for me.😂)
You have a book coming out, and that is the coolest thing ever, so please scream about it as much as you want! Also, thanks for giving my assumptions post a shout-out. I hope you have a fabulous November!
AHH THANKS, AJ!! I’m scared of annoying people but also HOLY HECK I HAVE A BOOK COMING OUT.😂
Keep posting about your book! I won’t strangle you, promise; I love hearing about it and sharing in your excitement and being able to say to people “I’VE SPOKEN WITH AN AUTHOR BEFORE! SHE’S GOING TO BE FAMOUS.” 😄
AFJDKSALD I’M SO FREAKING OUT, JULIA. I CAN’T EVEN CONTAIN MYSELF.😂
CAIT omg I’m so happy that you’ll be reading Failure to Communicate!!! It’s my favourite of the year <3
and of course congrats again on everything!!
Ahh I’m so happy that you loved it!! It’s highly recommended by my friend so I’m excited!
I’m so glad you had a great month, Cait, also, DID YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A BOOK BEING RELEASED???! There. I’m shouting for you so you don’t have to – and will be until I read this fabulous book. I have to say I’m excited that it’s a contemporary because, well, aerm, as much as I love you and would definitely DIE to read one of your fantasy stories someday, I will forever remain a contemporary lover and I want all the emotions. ANYWAY I CAN’T WAIT, you can scream about this all you want.
I’m so glad you loved the new John Green book. I just, well, finally got it yesterday and dropping everything to read it now and I CAN’T WAIT 🙂 Also, so glad you loved Starfish, I can’t wait to read that one either, it sounds so good. AAAAAAND you can never read The Raven Boys too many times.
Your NaNo project sounds so exciting and even if you can’t start right away, I knooooooow you’ll make it to 50K and more anyway 😉 I will tryyy to do NaNo this year, and I will try to use this time to actually edit my WIP. No, I’m no ready AT ALL ahah.
Have a fabulous month! xx
I’M SHOUTING TOO SO LET’S JUST SHOUT TOGETHER COMPANIONABLY!! And aww, I’m absolutely dyyying too that you’d like to read my fantasy.😂I would LOVE to write fantasy as well! My second book is also a contemporary but like maybe after that?!? *crosses fingers*
John Green is AMAZING and Starfish was so perfect and I want to reread the Raven Boys until the day I die, so basically the books of this month have been so excellent. *flails*
Honestly, Heidi Heilig liking your book is how you know you’ve made it. SHE’S SO COOL. And over a million words? CAIT. OVERACHIEVER.
And, honestly, Stranger Things coming out a few days before NaNoWriMo? A PROBLEM. Massive problem. I may binge it this weekend even though I was intending to watch it slowly so it doesn’t distract me during NaNo, because I will have very little free time to begin with.
And I realized late last night that NaNoWriMo is in four days and I FEEL SO UNDERPREPARED. Only like three of my characters have names and the actual kingdom itself isn’t named and I still have some holes in my outline. AND I REALLY WANT TO DO THIS PROJECT JUSTICE. It’s my older WIP about the necromancer queen in a france-inspired fantasy world and it’s all death magic and f/f romance and angry kingdoms and I love it and I worry I’m going to do it wrong.
I’M PRETTY MUCH DEAD. HEIDI HEILIG IS LIKE A WRITING QUEEN AND I CAN’T EVENNNNNN. I’m slightly freaked out that like real authors might read my book?!? Maybe they’ll forget and I can just die quietly.😂 (I’m literally like “YAY MY BOOK IS BEING PUBLISHED” and simultaneously “wait people will read it help me”.)
I’m pretty sure Netflix timed Stranger Things to sabotage the NaNoers, bless them.
I hope NaNo is treating you well right now?!
While I never would wish away the wonderful library I am fortunate to have in my town, reading more backlist TBR sounds like a pretty decent silver lining! 🙂
Congrats again on your book deal! I’m always curious about your writing (and your speed!) when you share about it here and it’s so cool to realize 2 books of yours are going to be out there in the world 🙂 🙂
Backlist books are kind of awesome!! I hate that I miss out on so many by reading mainly new books, whoops.😂
Aww thank you!! I can’t wait till everyone can finally read this book of mine!
I love your paper creations! They are so pretty. I’ve read When I’m Through with You and Night of Cake & Puppets and I loved both of them. I’m super happy that you enjoyed both of them. I really want to buy a copy of Night of Cake & Puppets because I read it on my kindle years ago, but I really want to own it because it’s so pretty!
AWw, thanks, Sarah! I have such fun making them!😂 And Night of Cake and Puppets is just GORGEOUSLY designed!
CAIT PLEASE DO NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT YOUR NOVEL. I mean WHY WOULD YOU? It’s like I’ve been wondering around empty alleyways and hallways and corridors and houses and haunted castles mumbling to myself ‘A Thousand Perfect Notes. A Thousand Perfect Notes’ LIKE A CRAZY FANGIRL OKAY.
So,,, OTHER NEWS. You FINALLY FINALLY FINALLLLY READ STARFISH. Okay it was released only like a while ago BUT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOREEVVERR FOR YOU TO READ IT. And you did!! AKKK, SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT <3
25 books? DAMNED I AM SLACKIINNGG. I've read like 8…HOPEFULLY *Weeps*
CONGRATS ON 200 books. YOU READ THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF BOOKS
AND OMGG DOING NANO FOR THE FIRT TIME #scared Buut GOOD LUCK (like you'll be needing it. I swear, you have the luxury of starting NANO LATE haha)
PLUS WHY IS THIS RECAP SO EARLY CAIT???
TO BE HONEST, THERE IS VERY LITTLE CHANCE I’LL SHUT UP ABOUT IT BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER SO BUCKLE UP. *is a crazy fangirl along with you* I mean, hopefully I can fangirl over my own book.😂 I already am planning all these posts to do about it hhahaha. Ahem.
Starfish was AMAZING! So beautiful and painful though.
(And don’t worry this month I’ve read 3 books so far and I need to sit in a hole.)
Hey it was only 3 days early.😂
Wow you’ve had a busy month! Congrats again on your book deal! (and also your on goodreads….. WHAT?!?!?!…. YAYAYAYAY) Also, 25 books! Thats pretty dang impressive! (I wish I could read that much!) good luck with your new book ideas!
YAYYY THANK YOU, JAMIE!! That’s so nice of you!
REREADS ARE GREAT BECAUSE THEN YOU CAN LAUGH AT THE CHARACTERS WHO STILL THINK THEY CAN HAVE A HAPPY ENDING.
And, like, I don’t even remember what books I read this month. I’ve read too many.
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH FTW! I like cookies, but I also like ice cream. Happy medium.
I AM VERY MUCH DOING NANO (even though I’m in the middle of one wip and have decided to do another project and I’m gonna kill myself slowly but hEY LOOK MY PRECIOUS CINNAMON BUNS ARE HERE!). And you’ve already read about my fabulous NaNo novel on my blog, but HEY TEEN HEROES and I also really wanna be the beginning of a whole geek-to-heroes cliche BECAUSE GEEKS MAKE GREAT SUPERHEROES, Don’t you dare tell me I’m wrong.
But yes, pls, all the encouragement, I only have the first chapter outlined and I AM SCREWED! Maybe.
(And yeah, I know I already linked this post but I am a lazy soul and do not have any new material to write about so bleh.)
YES EXACTLY. AND YOU CAN APPRECIATE THE FORESHADOWING SO MUCH MORE AND JUST LUAGH AND LAUGH TO COVER UP YOUR TEARS.
Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is also the reason humanity keeps on.
And yesss for your NaNo project! It sounds AMAZING. I love geeks and superheroes and pfft, they’re so awesome, I shall not tell you that you’re wrong. *sends encouraging cake*
YAY! Cake!
Mine now.
That’s a long recap – where to start with the commenting? Yes, I’m doing NaNo, and I added you as a buddy since you promised you were friendly, though I have to admit I’m probably a bit scared of you. I’ll be working on a rewrite of a young adult fantasy featuring shapeshifters and shifty energy-stealing mage-scientists and lots of people you’re not sure whether to trust or not. I’m still in awe of how much you manage to read and write all the time, and I did notice you have a book out & I’m super looking forward to reading it.
What else? Oh, rereads! I am all in favour of rereads but very rarely manage to make time for them. I am Queen of the Accidental Reread, though, where I have a book off the shelf for bookstagram or other reasons and flick through to a bit I really liked and end up rereading most of it, not necessarily on order. Six of Crows is the most frequent culprit.
Yes all my recaps are long!😂 I have a lot to say at the end of a month apparently hahahah. Ahem. And aww, don’t be scared of me. 😀 I’m very friendly and sometimes i shout but it’s only because I’m an excited puppy.
Also your book sounds AMAZING!
And my novel isn’t out yet.😂 Coming June, 2018!! Super excited eeep.
That’s so amazing that you’re getting published! All of your stories sound awesome and wow, how are you not dead after writing so many words. And the year isn’t even over with.
Eee, I’m super excited for NaNoWriMo and I have my outline finished but there’s still plenty of world-building to do and I might have mistaken panic for excitement. Yep, pretty sure it’s panic.
Chocolate orange ice cream is a thing?! Why didn’t I know about this? Until I’ve scoured the Earth for some, I’d have to say my favorite flavor is Huckleberry.
At the risk of sounding repetitive, OMG YOU’RE GETTING PUBLISHED. It’s not even news anymore but I still can’t believe it! Next year can’t come soon enough. But in the meantime, good luck with NaNo!
Eeep, thanks, Cat!! I’m pretty much out of my mind with happiness at this point AHHH!!! And omg so far in November I’ve rewritten 1 book, copy edited 1 book, and now I’m about to do NaNo.😂So nevermind me, I’m just dead.
best of luck with your NaNo project!! *cheers you on*
THOSE SEARCHES THO I’M DYYYIINNNGGGGG
SAME. HOW DID THEY EVEN LEAD TO MY BLOG.😂
OKAY OMG YOU FEATURED MY POST AHHHHHHHHH CAN I JUST RUN AROUND MY ROOM AND FLAIL
anyways! I LOVE REREADS OMG but also the FEAR that it actually sucks and that your smoll younger self had no standards. which is true.. i did have no standards.
I AM DOING NANO AND I AM NOT PREPAAAAAAARED. I think I am going to work on my fantasy Arabian-inspired story but IDK MATE. I kind of want to do a contemporary but I have no ideas so WHAT DO. WHAT DO.
(i have so many plot bunnies halp)
The best ice cream flavor is obviously Cookies and Cream and I WILL FIGHT YOU ON THIS. I WILL FIIIIIIGHT.
YOU’RE WELCOME, JLUIANNA!!😂 *sends you some cake* And ohh I do hear you with the fear for younger rereads. I see some books on my GR shelves that I’ve rated 5 stars and I’m sitting here like: “I don’t even recall it being that good.”😂 Our younger selves had weird standards.
GOOD LUCK WTIH NANO!!
Isn’t Turtles All the Way Down so good???? I’m 50 pages from the end and I love it. I love it even though it causes great pain (damn you, John Green).
I own a single bookshelf (uno. one.), so most of my books are on the floor, under chairs, under my bed, stashed on other bookshelves where they don’t belong . . . etc. I feel ya there.
OF COURSE EVERYONE WANTS TO READ YOUR BEAUTIFUL PERFECT BOOK I RATE IT SIX STARS.
Definitely watch “Stranger Things 2” because I will be watching it soon and then we can scream at each other and eat Eggo waffles.
I finally FINALLY finished my very long and complicated outline for my NaNo novel and even though it’s a mess at least I’ll have some vague idea of what to do during November. Now to work on the soundtrack . . .
I KNOW RIGHT?! I’M SO IN LOVE WITH JOHN GREEN’S BOOKS. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL AND HURTFUL. I think he writes really meaningful stuff and I just *weeps* And ohhh you need more shelves, my friend. Many more shelves.😂I just squished another shelf into my room and my parental is complaining she can’t get in through the door and I’m like: this is the point.😂
I soooo want to watch Stranger Things S2! I’m going to wait till my sister comes home for Christmas though and we’ll watch it together!
I’M SO GLAD YOU’RE READY FOR NANO!! I hope it’s all going well?!
Rereading the Raven Cycle is always a good idea. Also, again, YOU HAVING A BOOK PUBLISHED IS SO AMAZING, AND YOU KNOW THAT EVERYONE IS GOING TO ADORE IT AND BUY IT AND I KNOW THAT I AM GOING TO BUY AS SOON AS IT COMES OUT.
okay. I’m just really excited. Don’t mind me…
It is a good idea. I will just spend the rest of my life re-reading it I think. *nods at good life decisions* AFJDKLSAD I’M STILL DYING ABOUT MY BOOK THOUGH CAN I JUST SIT HERE AND SHOUT A BIT.
I have Night of Cake & Puppets too! Do you think I should read it if I haven’t finished DOSAB?
So sad to hear about This Mortal Coil! I have heard raves about it from Amie & Jay! I LOVED UNEARTHED SO MUCH AND YOU MUST LOVE IT TOO. I wasn’t a fan of The Build-Up Season either.
CAIT I have shrieked everywhere I can but I am so excited for your new novel! You deserve all the success in this world <3
I think you have to have at least read book 1 of DOSAB? But technically Night of Cake and Puppets is set between book 2 and 3? I THINK?? And I still enjoyed it despite remembering nothing of the trilogy so there you go.😂
I’m so disappointed about This Mortal Coil too but maybe I was having a bad reading day.😂
Congrats again on your book coming out, Cait! That’s just so exciting I hardly have words. And I love boy pianists, so there 😉
You’ve had a very, very, very busy month of October! Which is good, I guess? Five star reads for the win, as that’s not always a given. I’ve read some really good books in October, too. Even if I sometimes think I might be too nice. But I prefer to think I know how to choose the books I pick up and read 😉
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading. Plus good luck with the secret project that is stealing your attention away from NaNo 😉
Aww thanks so so much, Lexxie!! I’m still absolutely FREAKING OUT with happiness as you can probably tell.😂And it was definitely a wild October although November’s shaped up to be even crazier.😂
Cait! If I haven’t congratulated you on your amazing news already on every possible social media site then CONGRATULATIONS!!! You’re a huge inspiration and I cannot wait to read your book, I already added it on Goodreads 😀 (the 1 star review was not me… lol)
I’m currently 3/4 into Godsgrave and you neeeeedd to read it soonest. Also, I’m desperate to read Now I Rise but for some reason it’s not on Audible, what is this insanity??? I may have to actually read an actual real physical book 😮 lol. Plus, Half Bad is my favourite, I still haven’t read the final book because I can’t live in a world with no more Nathan and Gabriel :-{
AHHHH THANK YOU, LYNDSEY!! I’M ABSOLUTELY FREAKING OUT WITH HAPPINESS!! (As is hard to tell.😂) Omg I’m loving my 1-star review already. So glad my books are making an impact and I’m still freaking copy-editing it hahahhaha. *dies*
Omg I need strength for Godsgrave. Is it going to kill me?😂 Oh that’s annoying about Now I Rise not being on audible?! I managed to get the audio on an overdrive library which was a relief. I LOVE the narrator.
I know you shout about your love for The Raven Cycle at every opportune time but wow, re-reading and you upping the star ratings is like a whole lot level of love. I am a Stiefvater virgin (pls don’t stone me) but I’d really definitely want to check out her books before I die because of you.
Re-reading is fun because you already know that the book is good. It’s like visiting old friends. It’s a bit of a luxury tho for mortals like me, because time!!!
Last but most importantly, ALL CAPS CONGRATS to your book, I just added it in Goodreads!!! I am flailing for you, really. You deserve all the cake and ice cream.
DUUUUDE YOU GOTTA READ SOME STIEFVATER. I WILL BEG YOU AND SEND CAKE IF YOU DO. (That’s like totally encouraging and not at all weird I’m sure.😂) And rereading IS so great!! It’s like old friends and remembering why a book really hit you in the feels!! My TBR hates me for doing it though.😂
AHH THANK YOU! I’m still absolutely freaking out as you can probably tell.😂
Bro, if your sister doesn’t want to read your book, then I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE. Also, if you decide to throw in gunfire in Saint No One and need any gun information, hit me up, I like to think I know a little useful information given my day job. 🙂
AND I KEEP THINKING ABOUT DOING NANO BUT I LITERALLY HAVE TWO CHARACTERS AND THE VAGUE IDEA THAT IT WOULD BE RAINING A LOT IN THE BACKGROUND AND THAT’S IT. SO WE SHALL SEE. I MIGHT START STALKING YOU OVER ON NANO TOO.
Also, Happy Halloween? Ya know, if that’s a thing in Australia. Is it? I need to know now.
Ugh I’m just going to sell my sister at this point. She is a life disappointment. She once took 9 months to read one of my books and I think I tried to poison her tea. She doesn’t even CARE that there are people preordering it?? Like what the heck, sister, adore me or what use are you. *sighs dramatically*
(ALSO THANKS ABOUT THE GUN AND SHOOTING INFO!! I will definitely come whining to you with questions.)
Hey raining is great! All you need is a flood and BOOM. Climax and plot all there and everyone drowns. It’s like the Scorpio Races backwards.
And like Halloween tries to be a thing in Australia? But we mostly just mock the 3 people who try to do it.
Congrats on your book deal! That’s so incredibly exciting!!! I never do the official NanoWriMo, but I did tell my critique partner I’d finally start working on the book I’m in the VERY beginning of, so I might do my own unofficial challenge if you will. 🙂
Ooh I’m so glad you loved Turtles all the Way Down. I have the book and need to read it ASAP. I also need Autoboyography!!
-Lauren
YAY I’m so glad you are doing an unofficial writing challenge! Any amount of words written is still good, right?!
Chocolate-orange ice cream?!
Night of Cake and Puppets looks so cool!
Ooh, I didn’t know you’d already gotten Failure to Communicate. Now you need to read it! I’ve actually heard that Tess of the Road is…not great. Gahhh.
The Near Witch is definitely Schwab’s weakest book. But she was just a baby writer! I actually think the novella was better.
YOU ARE A WRITING MACHINE! 😱
I still can’t believe you’re leaving Starfish at 4 stars. 😂
YES. Everything in life is better if you mix chocolate and orange. (Like orange flavoured chocolate is delicious too.😍) And I will definitely read Failure to Communicate ASAP…as in before this year is out at least. 😂 Also nooo about Tess. Weren’t we going to buddy read that?! I’m so frustrated when dragon books fail. UGH.
And yes exactly right about The Near Witch! I’d love to see what she would’ve done with that setting now though. It was so beautiful, just the characters were a bit eh.😂
I think if we read Tess, we should at least read it together? Sounds like we’ll need the support, haha.
That flippy book review thing is so COOL I just love your blog so much :D! And you are a writing machine!!! I’ve started outlining my first attempt at a book (eek!) and it is taking forever so I am wholly impressed with your skills! I cannot wait to read your book 😀
Kizzi xx
kizzimay.co.uk
Ahhh THANK YOU, KIZZI!! I’m so glad you like my blog! DAY MADE. And good luck with your outline!! I’m a huge fan of outlining except mine is sort of burning in the corner so I need to go beat it out.
I applaud you for reading 200 books and your book! I wish I could read that much; however, I find it too hard to unplug my television. *”Will and Grace” and “Game of Thrones” intro music playing in the background* Have fun during the month of November, which you started early!😂
Ohhh thanks, Nicole! THAT’S SO NICE OF YOU! And haha I have a lot of shows I’d like to catch up on but not enough time to do it all right?!?
Omg. I step away from my computer for a few days and the world explodes. Or like, the blogosphere explodes. And you…you LINKED TO MY BLOG!!!! Excuse while I continue to hyperventilate in that corner. I had about a million things I was going to comment on (YOU”RE GOING TO BE PUBLISHED!?!?!?!??????) but now it’s all about me and my tiny little victory. THANK YOU! Huge blogging victory achieved!!
Omg I’m happy that you’re happy!!😂😂 *shares all the cake with you* You have a lovely blog and I’m so enjoying reading it!!
Why are you talking about world domination, you already have a kingdom 😛
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Cat
OMGGGGG I HAVE A KINDGOM. THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I’VE HEARD ALL DAY.
I LOVE rereads so much, 20/10 recommend them. I also read some amazing books this month-one dark throne, adultolescence, and made you up are a few.
SAAANME THOUGH. I WANT TO REREAD ALL THE THINGS. My TBR is going to murder me though.😂
Hey, you’re allowed to crow about your book release AS MUCH AS YOU WANT, darling. <3 It will never get old, I promise, because it's so exciting. XD
Oh, yes, you'll just do NaNo later in the month because it takes you suuuuch a short time to do one… *cough* (BUT REALLY THOUGH A MILLION WORDS THIS YEAR. WHAT. EVEN. YOU'RE MAGIC.)
I'm doing NaNo and I'M SO NOT READY I MAY CRY because I've been having computer troubles and a cold and been gone all the time lately SO I HAVEN'T PLOTTED NOOOO. But I'm writing a gender-swapped Little Mermaid retelling that's YA steampunk-fantasy in another world full of skyships and no sea and a dark sad skynavy guy who wants to steal the show and an adorable romance and clockwork dragons AND BASICALLY I AM ALL THE EXCITE. So hopefully I'll survive. I need to go plot… o.o
I love your Fury Recaps still, just FYI. Thanks for sharing. 😀
I WILL SO BE CROWING FOREVER.😂 BY THIS POINT I’M JUST DOOMED AND SO ARE YOU ALL READING MY BLOG. And hhahhahha yes I’m do annoying with NaNo. I’m going to do it over the weekend.😂 I hope your book is behaving!! Also gender-swapped retellings are my freaking FAVOURITE so excuse me while I’m so excited for you!!
Ahhh your NaNo novel sounds amazing and those aesthetics are assaulting my eyeballs with love of food!! AGAIN I’M SO EXCITED YOU ARE GETTING PUBLISHED WOLJFÖWOEIGHEUSGIHÖIEJ
Also it’s pretty much comical at this point that you straight up read 20 books more than I did this month hahahaha. I swear I COULD read more but I’m addicted to sitting around doing literally nothing for hours on end, and social media will be my ruin good lord help me.
I’m getting into rereads for the first time in my life and they are amazing???
I’m rereading Harry Potter and it’s great!
My five star reads this month were City of Ashes (BECAUSE EPICKJWÖOEFIJELJW AND I LOVE JACE) and An Enchantment of Ravens (because it was so easy and cute and I loved the characters!)
I’M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY START WRITING MY NANO NOVELLLLL
AJFDKLSAD < --- ME ALL THE TIME THESE DAYS TOOOOOOO. I CAN'T EVEN. And honestly November is me = reading nothing, so don't feel too bad.😂 And re-reading is SO amazing. I'm mad at myself for all the years I thought it was a waste of time ahhaha. I want to reread all the Shadowhunter books too.😂 GOOD LUCK WITH NANO!!
I absolutely love rereading! Going back to your old favourites is so comforting. It’s like wearing your favourite ugly fluffy socks, or being wrapped in a blanket, or being handed an amazing cup of coffee with cream on top. I’ve almost reached my years goal, and I promised myself some rereads when I go there so I am very excited. The Raven Cycle is on my to reread list!
AND YES I DID READ A 5 STAR BOOK THIS MONTH OMG! I gave Godblind by Anna Stephens 5 stars! I absolutely adored it. Definitely my top read of the year so far! I also finally read Sinner too, and loved that as well. It got 4 stars. Which from me is awesome. My 5 stars are rare. Haha!
Best ice cream flavour… I am usually in the minority for this one but I love BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP! It is just so so good. My boyfriend has judged me for my flavour choice ever since we first started dating like 8 years ago and he took me for ice cream!
I had all the best intentions to join NaNo this year, but I had the busiest October ever so I have decided to just try and chill a bit for November and not stress myself out too much. Haha. Plenty of time for that when December rolls around! I will be encouraging everyone else that had joined though! I’ll be the cheerleader 🙂
Yesss that’s exactly how it is! SO LOVELY. And honestly my TBR is glaring at me for just sitting here re-reading all the Stiefvater but I have 0% regrets.😂
Oh I’ve heard mixed things about Godblind! Glad you loved it!
And duuude banana chocolate chip is DELICIOUS. I am with you there.
“is it weird that i kinda fangirl over random stuff” —> YEAH BECAUSE IT MEANS YOU’RE NOT DEAD INSIDE. HOW DARE YOU.
oh my word it’s so specific XD this has to be a top favorite XD
I’M GLAD YOU LIKE MY WEIRDLY RANDOM SEARCHES.😂
REREAD READRE REREREREREAD!!!! I love rereading! Although I think I only reread one thing this month.. maybe 2. (Basically, I started reading this E. Lockheart book that I thought I hadn’t read but was very familiar so maybe I read it 3-4 years ago? Idk, man. It’s hard to be a reader with a poor memory. I also reread The Scorpio Races as an audiobook and just 100% yes it’s my favourite Maggie Stiefvater (although I hated Shiver and low-key didn’t mind/liked the Raven cycle. So there wasn’t much competition) and also I loved all the Scottish vibes since I was listening to it in rural scotland (it didn’t stop raining honestly ugh). This month I had pumpkin ice-cream and it’s the actual best yessss omg TRY IT.
REREADING IS SO MUCH FUN I’M ADDICTED. Like this month all I’ve been doing is rereading Stiefvater…definitely comfort reading.😂 I cannot even with how good the Scorpio Races audio is though. I actually ACHE because it’s so beautiful. There goes my heart. And lowkey going to pretend you didn’t say you hated Shiver because I freaking love it.😂😂😂 HAHA I FORGIVE YOU SHAR, I SHALL NOT FEED YOU TO MY CROCODILES.
I have been such a bad friend. I have not visited your blog in ages. But but but! It’s because I always want to write PROPER COMMENTS, and that’s hard to do on the phone, so I want to comment on the computer… But I’m always so tired and/or have too much work and end up unable to visit… I know, all excuses! xD
But basically. I’m so super happy about your book. Excited. I am keeping that post for last, so I still don’t know which one it is! *holds fingers to get an ARC* ahahaha
But seriously. I’m so glad I met you BEFORE you were a crazy famous writer (being a crazy famous blogger before I met you doesn’t count. I totally met you before you were famous :DDDD I can keep telling myself that.) I remember how I kept asking about WHEN you were going to publish about this time last year, and now… Now you’re all “CG DREWS” on Twitter. I am experiencing alienation! 😀
In fact, maybe that’s also why I didn’t visit. You’re still you, right? 😀
Chocolate orange ice cream 🙁 now I want that! And I’m sure that nobody sells it. I haven’t really seen anything like that! But it sounds like such a good combination, srsly.
Mmm, that cover of Shadowblack. That’s so beautiful. And I’ve heard good things about Starfish.
I’ve noticed you’re doing stories! I saw that cat one 😀 hehehe loved it.
By the way! Last month I participated in Dewey’s 24h readathon, and… something happened to me. I became, like.. You. For a few days. Like… I read a book a day for quite a while. I hope this continues, although I still can’t believe it! What happened to me 😀 I’ve literally read like 4-5 books in the last week of October 😀 so just some news I wanted to share.
Arite I gotta run, I will finish commenting later!
Nooo you’re fine!😂 I know life gets super busy haha. Take care of yourself!
Aww, thank you about my book! I’m ridiculously happy as you can probably tell hahhhhahahaha *dies* Pfft. I’m not a famous blogger! I know blogs that are WAY bigger than mine haha. I am just a dork and it’ll stay that way! And I chose to go with CG Drews on twitter so I’d be findable. Since my publishing name is not my screen name.😂 Eventually I’ll switch everything over to CG Drews but sloooowly, so as not to scare us all.
Starfish is AMAZING. I have such love!
(And orange + chocolate for ANYTHING is pure life!!)
Duuude, congrats on reading so much so fast!😂 I’m proud!
Yeah, switching for that makes sense. Or I guess you could still change your pen name to something like Cake Queen xD (just an idea.)
Admittedly, having Paper Fury as a pen name on the cover of a book would be insanely cool o.o
And you are so totally a famous blogger 😀 bigger bloggers may exist, but a) they’re probably in romance, let’s face it b) you must be one of the most famous bloggers AMONG other bloggers. Not just other people xD
I’m also curious about those big bloggers you know. Which ones are they? I wonder if I’m oblivious to a large part of the book world 😀
“cannot keep his sassy mouth shut and this lands him near death” sounds like someone I can relate to perfectly.
I KNOW RIGHT?! That line sums up my entire book so it should be fun.
How have you not read Tess of the Road yet, Cait???? Get to it 😉
Also I feel you on watching shows. Like I have a huge stack of dvd’s of tv shows to still watch but instead I keep picking up a book. Haha.
(Also thank you for sharing my post <3)
I KNOW. SLACK AREN’T I?!?? 😂😂 And hey at least reading is good for our brains! Even if we’re behind on ALL the shows and movies.😂
Oooh!!! Look at all the pretty little books and bookie photos you got here! Now, I know that October was an AWESTACULAR month for you! And you passed your Goodreads Challenge! YOU GO GIRL!!!! Unfortunately, I’m still behind (a bit) on my reading challenge, but I’m getting there (with 2 months to spare, that’s got to be something)!
I hope you manage to find time to catch up on your challenge too!! 🎉🎉🎉
