I think a great deal of people have heard of ACE. That nasty curriculum that claims to allow students to work at their own pace, yet giving them a deadline. You really have to be ACEikly minded to enjoy it.
I don’t think I’m ACEikly minded. Nope, I’m a Sonlight girl. What with the awesome books, the exact amount of your days work written on my schedule, leaving no option…it’s just great.
Yet I do three lots of PACES. Sigh. But hey, you know what? For my first two tests of the year, I think I got a hundred percent. So maybe they’re not so bad, after all. When it comes to science, I’m not really hoping for as much, but in English and New Testament Survey, I think I can aim fairly high. Not that I did well in the check-ups.
Now, if you’ve never done ACE, or Sonlight, this post will make little or no sense at all. Bear with me.
And then there’s those irritating little characters, Ace, Christy, Pudge, and the rest. So good, so perfect! I don’t know about you, but I find myself enjoying the educational comics that have the naughty kids, Susie, and what’s his name…Ron? They’re interesting. Their characters have more depth. But hey, what can I say, Ace is a model student. He takes out the rubbish before his trumpet lesson.
ACE isn’t all that bad. I mean, you can laugh at it. How bad can it be?
