There is lots of glorious wonder in today’s post! First of all: books. And then: intense fangirling. AND THEN: a giveaway!
Oh, the delicious excitement.
I’m linking up with Tynga’s Reviews for the meme Stacking The Shelves! And also Caffeinated Book Reviewer for Sunday Post! Basically: you recount books you’ve won/bought/collected this week.
I am an intense fan of all things Maggie Stiefvater AND NOW I FINALLY HAVE THE DREAM THIEVES TO READ. CUE FLAILING. My library rocks. And, I’ll have you note, this is my only library borrow. I am so controlled.
I won Alienated and A Mad, Wicked Folly from Celeste @ The Reading Nook Reviews and Christine @ The Bookish Daydreamer. Eeeek. I am so excited for Alienated I can’t even. AH! Thank you!
Aaaand, I won Say What You Will from Iris @ IrisjeXx! (Thank you!) Which I am excited and nervous about because it’s pitched as “John Green meets Rainbow Rowell”, which, um, are super big shoes to fill.
Thanks Thames and Hudson Australia for The Peculiars! This was a surprise, sooo…not sure about it yet. I haven’t read much steampunk.
Thank you to Hardie Grant Egmont for the review-copy of Gone! This is going to be a fabulous reread for me and oh gosh, I love the new covers. (I will rave about it in the review to come, naturally.)
And I won The Neptune Project (don’t say anything about me winning stuff, okay? don’t jinx me!) BUT I DON’T REMEMBER WHO FROM. I feel awful. But I still thank you, wonderful blogger!
sunday – Yay! New blog design! And we return from hiatus!
monday – We review Fire & Flood which we had mixed feelings about.
tuesday – Please, for the love of Lamb Stew and Dried Plums, STOP comparing books to The Hunger Games!
wednesday – We link up for Top Ten Tuesday and Cait reveals she has a mild obsession with the TV show Man Vs. Wild.
friday – We review Alexander Altmann A10567 and basically cry and use Sherlock gifs.
saturday – Cait wishes she was Iron Man…and also questions if one should write consistently or in bulk?
Oh, and so this other majorly exciting thing happened which caused me to fangirl greatly. You know how I wrote a post about YA authors and their animated character look-a-likes? I was too shy to tweet it to any authors…because, you know. SHY. Buuuut…J.R. Johansson (who I said looked like Merida from Pixar’s Brave) found it and tweeted it!
And excuse me, but I am fangirling so hard I couldn’t even stumble out a coherent reply. AUTHORS WERE ON MY BLOG. You can see the twitter conversation here, too!
Then A.G. Howard put it on facebook! So basically I had JR Johansson and AG Howard and Leigh Bardugo and Natalie Whipple (whose tweet is somehow hidden above) WERE ALL ON MY BLOG. #bestdayever
Well, look at this gorgeous little thing! You know, I did say when we hit 200 Bloglovin’ followers we’d do a giveaway. So here we are!
Win either Angelfall or The Winner’s Curse (your choice!)
– This is a Followers Appreciation giveaway…so followers only, peoples!
– Win The Winner’s Curse OR Angelfall.
– You must be able to accept an Amazon giftcard for an Ebook.
– You must shout I WANT TO WIN THIS and turn in a circle three times. Not even joking…
You saucy minxes, wanting to know what I'm wearing. Wellll, I'm currently sporting a lovely pair of purple moccasins. Yeah, I'm bringing sexy back.Oh. My. Gawd. The creator of our MOTH was talking about you. Considering she's technically the MOTHS mummy, she could be your mother in law when you start stacking up with our MOTHY. I know, I'm nuts. I wish I could blame alcoholism for my lack of making sense, but I can't. The best book I read this week was The Taking. Even though the romance was icky and creepy, it was still a thumbs up.
YOUR COMMENTS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST. Seriously. I could call you Haymitch, though, if it'd make you feel better?Hey, hey, come now, I can't get between the Moth and Alyssa. They're my OTP. (Although, you know, if she makes bad decisions, I can work with that.)
Ah! You're just WINNING ALL THE BOOKS CAN YOU SEE MY JEALOUSY RIGHT NOW? 😀 Anyway, I have yet to start The Raven Boys! Alienated was a pleasant surprise, as was A Mad, Wicked Folly. =) I reaaaaaally want to read Say What You Will! I may have to steal it from you. And I must FANGIRL WITH YOU because those are some amazing authors! <33 Thanks so much for the mention, Cait! And YAYYYY for 200 followers!
YES I KNOW MY MUM JUST ROLLS HER EYES WHEN I SAY I'VE WON SOMETHING. BUT SERIOUSLY. SHHH. JINX. And The Raven Boys starts of a bit slooow, buuut, I'm in love with the entire series. x) FANGIRL WITH ME FOR SURE. If you lived in Australia, seriously, I would share. 😉
I'm nearly at the end of American Savage by Matt Whyman so that would be my favourite read for this week. ^_-Hope you like Alienated, I was pleasantly surprised.
I think I've heard of that one. That's awesome! I'm really quite excited for Alienated, even though I've heard mixed things. Plus it's a gorgeous hardcover and I'm just mostly in love.
Ohmygosh I am flailing so much over this post. 1. SO MANY AMAZING LOOKING BOOKS. 2. Authors are sharing your post and reading your post and talking about your post.3. You have 200 followers 😀 😀 So congrats on all the amazingness, girls! ^.^
I KNOW RIGHT?! 'SCUSE ME I'M STILL HYPERVENTILATING.

Woooo! *throws streamers* THERE IS SO MUCH AWESOME IN THIS POST. I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ALL SAW YOUR LOOKALIKES. I'm, like, famous by association. Also, A G Howard read my review of Unhinged. So that's pretty exciting. Congrats on 200 followers! So deserved. I got The Peculiars as well – I'm pretty excited (not just because of the cover, I swear…okay, mostly because of the cover). I'm wearing odd socks, because that's how I roll. I'm not sure I own a pair of matching socks.

EEEEP. That's so awesome! 😀 I would flip if an ACTUAL. AUTHOR. were on my blog and SHARED it with their followers! I remember the first time Rainbow Rowell replied to one of my tweets. Pure ecstasy. Uh, John Green meets Rainbow Rowell? *clicks "want to read" on Goodreads*

Say What You Will is one of my most anticipated releases of the year, so I'm interested in seeing what you think! I read Alienated a while back and absolutely loved it, so I can't wait to see what you think! Don't hate me for this, but I DNF'd The Dream Thieves because the story just didn't click with me. 🙁 But I know a LOT (if not most) reviewers loved it, so I have a feeling you'll probably enjoy it! Thank you! 🙂 AHHHHHH I would have fangirled like mad too. So happy they all saw that post though, it was absolutely brilliant and had me smiling like crazy. It also had me trying to track down my own animated lookalike but I failed at it :'(
AHHHHH, I'm so happy for you! I would cry and turn into a dribbling puddle of goop if Leigh Bardugo ever responded to anything of mine. xDWhat did I read this week? Ummm, I read my Japanese textbook, does that count? I have finals coming up this week, so there's not that much time for fun. . .as for what color are my socks ALL THE COLORS. >:D I have fuzzy socks, and striped socks, and k-pop socks.
