Or maybe a stage of nerves. For me, at least.
At the end of every term the Northern Rivers Conservatorium has a concert for the students, and I performed as one of them. I played “See the Rabbit”, an AMEB grade 3 piece, and I played the whole thing without a horrible mistake that would ruin it. I sounded not-so-good at the start, and then I warmed up, but I’ll tell why that was so.
There were to be dozens of little kids playing their various instruments before me, and so we listened to most of them, and then the announcer was saying that I was on and it was like Me?! it can’t be me yet! So I played, though the bottom piece of my flute was tilted wrong, and survived.
And if you ask me, I did rather well….
Here are some pictures.
It was a great relief to sit down, but after the nerves settle, I think That wasn’t so bad… And before long I’ll be in the September eisteddfods! Wish me luck!
This is my flute teacher and accompanist.
