I know. It’s a lot of books.
I’m mildly frenetic, in case you can’t tell, because CASSANDRA CLARE! She is one of my top 5 favourite authors right now. And This Shattered World?! I have wanted this book forever. I’ve already read The Iron Trial and Dangerous Boys (this review-copy was supposed to come in like, um, August). But MAGNUS BANE. That is all.
What happened this week?
Sunday: I reviewed the freaktastic event of Made For You. I might’ve freaked. Maybe.
Monday: I spilt the beans about how I finished NaNoWriMo in 7 days with 65,000-words. (I’m a little crazy.)
Tuesday: I list my top 13 favourite book beginnings! (Spoiler: most start with death.)
Wednesday: Here are 10 secondary characters who need their own books. Like, now.
Friday: Time for a moment of irrepressible fangirling about book 6 of The Mortal Instruments. I’m a fan.
Saturday: Are you a peer-pressured reader? Answer honestly now.
These Are The Books I Ate:
City of Heavenly Fire: I…I have finally finished this incredible series. I AM SO HAPPY WITH THEM. Most of my ships sailed. The ending was glorious. [5-stars]
Skulduggery Pleasant 2, Playing With Fire: I listened to an audio, narrated by a guy with an Irish accent, which just the coolest thing ever. I may or may not be already addicted to this series. [4-stars]
If I Stay: Again, another audio…I actually cried. I AM A VULCAN, WHAT IS THIS? But I got goosebumps and teared up. [5-stars]
The Iron Trial: Nope. Just nope. The ending was wondrous, but the rest? It felt unoriginal and unexplained. [3-stars]
Let It Snow: Cute and fluffy with the first story being my favourite…but the last two? Complete meh. [3-stars]
I feel like the week’s reading is best explained like this:
Elsewhere, other bloggers made glorious creations.
(Here, let me just whisper very softly to you….some of htese are older posts, because I’ve saved them for this day, but then I didn’t have this day for so long. But they’re still awesome posts. Why are you still here? GO read them.)
Kara @ Diary of a Teen Writer finished NaNoWriMo in 5 days…and she has tips!
Shanelle @ The Art of Escapism talks about quitting.
Kelly @ Diva Booknerd and Ebony @ Daring Damsels both shared their favourite covers of 2014. COVER LOVE!
Emily @ The Loony Teen Writer did a post on the top 10 books that have stayed with her.
Jen and April @ The Starry-Eyed Revue are shaking it off and getting back to blogging for fun.
Eugenia @ Genie In A Book talks about the gloriousness of wowing endings.
Charlotte @ Books And Babies Etc. talks about sharing peoples posts…which ironically I am doing, but I loved this post!
Amanda @ Of Spectacles And Books asks about your favourite book series endings.
John and Hank Green are doing a challenge where they vlog everyday and IT’S SO EXCITING. John talks with some of the cast from The Paper Towns movie. And Hank talks about a serial killer. (They are so relatable and wonderful.)
Recently, on instagram…
To celebrate finishing NaNoWriMo, I drew a thing. It also partially consoled me that I will probably not see Mockingjay: Part 1 on opening week. (I did trace the circle, but I drew the mockingjay by hand!)
