Despite not being an American, I decided to still join in today’s thankish prompt because…BEING THANKFUL IS A GOOD THING. And I’ve decided to be thankful for a million things, basically. Because when one has been blogging for 4 years there’s a lot of people and things to thank. So I’ll have ten sections and (attempt to have) ten things in each section!
There will be much blogger and books and instagram recommendations. And copious random photos from yours truly because I’m mildly addicted to photos of books, okay?!
Time to break out the squishy cake pumpkin pie of thankfulness!
This Week’s Prompt: Thanksgiving themed Freebie
1. I’M IMMENSELY THANKFUL THAT THESE BOOKS EXIST:
I have read some ridiculously and entirely extraordinarily amazing books this year. AND I WISH TO SHRIEK ABOUT THEM. Because that’s who I am, basically. And if you haven’t planted your eyeballs into their pages yet — I assure you, you’re missing out.
The Accident Season // Blood Red Road // The Demon King // Demon Road // The Rest of Us Just Live Here // Made You Up // The Wrath and the Dawn // Illuminae // Every Breath // Bone Gap
2. AND THESE AUTHORS CONTINUALLY NEED THANKING FOR DECIDING TO BECOME WRITERS AND TORMENT THE UNIVERSE WITH THEIR GREATNESS:
Writers do so like to mangle feels. I’m sure they drink tears of the innocent in their morning coffees and have jam of suffering on their waffles. (But still. Their writing is forever excellent.)
Maggie Stiefvater (you knew that was coming) // Moira Young // George RR Martin (why is he on this list? he only damages us, but still…) // Derek Landy // Rick Riordan // Cassandra Clare // Holly Black // Jennifer Niven // Marissa Meyer // Rae Carson
Basically these are just some of my favourite authors.
3. THANK YOU TO MY TOP PAPER FURY COMMENTERS!
Because you know how sad and lonely this blog would be without you?! REALLY SAD. REALLY LONELY. Plus, I’m going to flail for a very long minute over these 10 commenters who comment on nearly every single post and…wow.
Erin // Midnight Rain Dragon // Shanti // Emily // Rachel & Bieke // La La in the Library // Aine // Ashley // Nicole // Maraia
But I want to thank all my commenters. ALL OF YOU. YES EVEN YOU STARING AT MY BLOG RIGHT NOW. Because your comments mean a lot to me! And it’s definitely my goal to shriek and fangirl talk sensibly with all of you.
4. AND LET ME THANK THESE NERDS WHO CONSTANTLY CHAT WITH ME ON TWITTER ABOUT ALL THE THINGS:
Taking a second to reply to my tweet or favourite, or retweet, means a lot to me. And I want to make sure you know it! THANK YOU.
@Brianna_daSilva // @Istyriabookblog //@TheReadingBird // @thegalaxialword // @joysofbookworms // @writingbadger // @frabjous_fairy // @chasingfaes // @AlyssaC_HK // @annie_hawthorne
(All of whom have fantastic twitter accounts and are generally nice beans and you should follow them.)
5. I’M ENTIRELY THANKFUL THESE INSTAGRAMMERS ARE SO ENTIRELY TALENTED.
I’m little bit of an instagram addict. Beautiful photos of books? Please shhhh everything and just sign me up. So here are just 10 of my most favourite accounts who constantly WOW me with their creative and beautiful photos. #goals
click on the photos to go see these instagramer’s accounts!
@aimeereads // @twirlingpages // @literaryathena // @outofthebex // @insidethebookreader // @lisa_lostinlit // @emdawgreads // @foldedpagesdistillery // @wordrevel // @readthebbook
6. I’M GARGANTUANLY GRATEFUL THESE WEBSITES EXIST TO MAKE BLOGGING AS ENJOYABLE AS EATING GELATO
Gelato is good, okay? Particularly mint gelato with chocolate chips in it. (There is no reason gelato is on my brain…it just is.) These are the websites I haunt eternally and make my blogging what it is!
goodreads // picmonkey // canva // netgalley // instagram // pinterest //
7. I ALSO ETERNALLY LOVE THESE PUBLISHERS / STORES AND HOW THEY BAKE BOOKS AND LET US EAT THEM.
If you don’t follow publishers on social media — DUDES, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! Most of them do giveaways quite frequently and post hilarious things.
- Allen & Unwin Teen on Facebook: if you’re an Aussie, go follow now. They basically give books away every week.
- Text Publishing on Twitter: they. are. hilarious.
- Boomerang Books Blog: Yes, I freelance for them, but I’m not being asked to blog about them on my private blog! I AM BECAUSE THEY’RE AWESOME. If you purchase from them you acquire points and eventually get free books (!!) plus the books are beautiful.
- Between the Covers on Twitter: They’re the Aussie YA department and so epic and nice.
- Epic Reads: Because DUH. And their blog keeps me up-to-date on all YA bookish things! Have you seen their #booknerdproblems youtube videos?! They give me life.
(This is also an accurate representation of what it’s like to buddy-read with me. I’m finished before you reach pg. 5. #sorrynotsorry)
8. BLOGS I’M THANKFUL FOR AND I SHALL READ THEM ENDLESSLY UNTIL THE APOCALYPSE HUZZAH.
I read a lot of blogs. Hundreds of blogs. And I could listen them all for you here but…as much as I know my blog is your life, there are probably other things you’d like to do today. SO! I’ll only list 10 of my top favourites and I highly think you should follow them.
- Loony Literate — Emily is hilarious and writes the best posts and her writing is AHHHH JUST FABULOUS.
- Nellie & Co — Amanda is so amazing! And knowledgable!! I get a ton of blogging tips from her.
- Hawwa Etc — Hawwa is a freakishly good artist. Her blog is the most aesthetically pleasing thing of my life.
- Musings from Neville’s Navel — Engie writes about…everything. I love the variety! Plus we fangirl intensely over Game of Thrones and Agent Carter together. Every conversation ends in Agent Carter, okay?
- It Starts At Midnight — SHANNON IS SO FUNNY. Her reviews are my favourite, because I feel like she’s genuinely chatting to me about a book.
- Chasing Faerytales — Mishma and Jillian write incredible discussions. Like the tough stuff, okay?! They do not mince words and I love their honesty!
- Happy Indulgence — I feel like I’ve been following Jeann forever! She recently got co-bloggers, who are also fabulous, and I love the discussions and reviews.
- The Devil Orders Take Out — Alyssa is a writing queen. And she makes up words like blookunity (book blogging community, start using it, folks) and basically is nefariously wonderful.
- The Quiet People — Beth speaks to me on a spiritual level because she is an introvert. Quiet people are the best! HUZZAH! Also her blogging voice = amazing to read.
- The Social Potato — Faye, Rashika, Aimee and Aentee are all amazing bloggers. And vloggers. And designers. GAWSH, PEOPLES. They’re freakishly talented. Their reviews are long and detailed and I get like 80% of my reading recommendations from them.
9. AND OF COURSE I’M THANKFUL FOR NON-BOOKISH THINGS.
Although the phrase “non-bookish” is pretty hard to say. Can you pronounce it easily? I cannot. I’m very extra sure that having 99% of your life revolving around books is completely okay. REGARDLESS. I’ll go ahead and be thankful for my cosy room, and my family, and my mother who’s there for me with my anxiety issues, and my adorable but evil little puppy (Atticus Bean) and my niece and nephew whom I’m converting into bookworms. OH AND I’M THANKFUL FOR FOOD.
Specifically, cake.
10. AND I’M ENORMOUSLY PLEASED AND HAPPY AND THANKFUL I’VE LEARNED GRAND BLOGGING THINGS THIS YEAR.
Sometimes one can commit bulbously awkward blogging errors…so it’s a thankful relief to grow and get better at blogging right?! This year I’ve learned a lot about myself AND blogging. And I’m thankful for it. (And if I say “thankful” one more time in this post, please someone thankfully smack me with a pineapple frond. Omg.)
THINGS I’M THANKFUL FOR LEARNING:
- That it’s okay to not read all the books.
- That it’s okay not to get all the (or even any) ARCs.
- And hey, if Netgalley isn’t working for you, no pressure to skip ebooks and hit the library instead!
- If you’re drowning in blogging, it’s okay to take time off.
- Speaking of which: IT’S OKAY TO SUCK AT MULTI-TASKING!! If you need to go AWOL and write a book…do it. Don’t feel guilty.
- It’s okay to continually experiment with design and graphics and photography images. And mess up. Truly. The world won’t end.
- It’s also okay to let your blogging voice change as you do…and if you don’t use gifs in every post, your readers (probably) won’t die. I mean, they might. BUT I TAKE RISKS.
- Give up trying to find more bookshelf space. Moaning and gnashing teeth are acceptable alternatives.
- WHEN YOU HAVE AN IDEA WRITE IT DOWN STRAIGHT AWAY, GOSH DARNIT, CAIT. Keep learning this.
- You gotta quit this hardcover addiction. Cait. It’s KILLING YOU. But hardcovers, humans. Haaardcovers. They are the most precious of all the preciouses.
Thank you so much for the shout out, Cait 🙂 I love your blog- it’s always a moment of happiness in my chaotic life when I’m reading. Thank you for blogging (and twittering and goodreadsing and instagramming… you know what I mean) I don’t have any blog in particular that I need to reccommend, and you’re way more connected than I am anyway… but in terms of books you should read, I’m cheating and putting two: First Test by Tamora Pierce and the Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I adore them both. all the thankfulness and love <3 Shanti
AWK, I’m so glad, Shanti! That’s like the nicest thing to hear of ever. *happy sigh* And I shall add those books to my TBR directly because I TRUUUUST you for sure.
*squawks* OMG YOU MENTIONED MY TWITTER!!! :’) Hehe, I do I favourite pretty much 99.8% of your tweets lol 😉
LIST OF FAVOURITE BLOGS:
1.) Paper Fury (http://paperfury.com)! if you haven’t heard of this blog before WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WITH YOUR LIFE??!! Seriously, it’s amazing and the best blog out there!
2.) Pea Fur Pry (http://paperfury.com)! this blog isn’t actually about nosy peas that are strangely furred, it’s actually a blog run by an awesome overlord that gives internet cake liberally and knows better then anyone how to fangirl!
3.) Rarefy Pup (http://paperfury.com)! KNOW, this blog sounds eerily similar to the ones above but this blog is secretly run by a puppy called Atticus Bean! He replies to comments in an awesomely puppy way! One day he’ll have the whole word at his feet and it will be AWESOME.
4.) Fray Upper (http://paperfury.com)! Also another wonderful blogger! This girl is such a talented writer and blogger and not at all uppity like the title of the blog says. I think she might get slightly frayed around the edges when she writes a novel IN FOUR DAYS. Like, omg, my brain would be MUSH if I did that. >.> This blogger is very smart and witty and you should check her out. 🙂
So yes, THOSE ARE MY FAVOURITE BLOGS! All amazing and wonderful hehe xD
AFJDKLASDFJKL EELLLLLLAAAAAA. YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY MADE MY DAY. SCRAP THAT. MY LIFE. AFDJKLSAFJDLKJ *TACKLE HUGS YOU WITH CAKE AND SPRINKLES* And for the record I adore your blog a million percent too. <33
YAY FOR BEING THANKFUL. There truly is so much for us to be thankful for! I’m actually sobbing because I’ve only read 1 out of the 10 books you’re thankful for reading.
I don’t know what I’d do with my life if Rick Riordan and Cassandra Clare didn’t exist. Like seriously.
Bookstagrammers are fabulous, I spend hours upon hours scrolling, googley eyed over all their photos! NOW I HAVE MORE TO ADMIRE!
I honestly don’t know what I’d do without Goodreads. I wouldn’t know about all the books I know about without it, let alone REMEMBER to read them all!
And Epic Reads never fails to put a smile on my face!
Wonderful post Cait!
Well, get thee onto this, Josephine!! THOSE BOOKS ARE ALL SO SPLENDID. *tosses books in the air and dances* heeh, and basically life would be very sad and puny without Riordan and Clare. THEY ARE LIFE. <3 Also hilarious. I love hilarious books. xD
Omg, I totally spend hours on instagram too. xD I love to scroll through pictures and just dream. #goals
GOODREADS IS BASICALLY LIFE. We are all in agreement, right?!? XD
Bookstagram accounts are often so absolutely gorgeous, I must be grateful for them as well. It’s just SO PRETTY. Most of all though, I love your list of things you learned. You shouldn’t feel guilty about having to take time off!
I’m about to follow the mentioned people on Twitter that I’m not already following, because you said they’re nice beans. I can’t miss out on more nice beans, can I?
Oh yes! I AGREE. I’m starting to realise that backing off on things for sanity’s sake is totally okay! Whereas last year I’d panic if I missed a day of blogging. 😛 Which is, yes, ridiculous. XD And you CAN’T miss out on more nice beans. NICE BEANS ARE THE BEST.
Aweeeee, I still have to write my TTT post, but yours was perfect! You covered everything and good on you fore SPREADING ALL THE LOVEEEE! Whenever I come to your blog, I just leave with a smile on my face because it’s such a positive and nice experience! 😀
AWWW, THAT IS THE NICEST THING TO HEAR OF EVER, THAK YOU KAT!! I’m really glad my blog is a fun positive place. :’) That totally makes my day!!
You thank me TWICE?? AHW YOU WONDERFUL BRILLIANT YOU!! Thank you for being so fabulous, Cait. <3
Well, you pretty much summed up all my favorite bloggers & instagrammers already, but there's also Nose Graze and Cuddlebuggery of course. And favorite books? Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab and Because You'll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas. This is my top 3 of the year at the moment, which can change before I post the official list right before X-mas, cause I'm reading Winter and Illuminae before then. 🙂
BECAUSE YOU ARE TWICELY WONDERFUL. *smushes cake in your face*
Oh yes, I love Cuddlebuggery a lot too!! And I occasionally read Nose Graze. XD SIMONS. HAHA HOW DID I KNOW YOU’D SAY THAT. 😛 I need to read ADSOM though. Seriously, what have I been doing with my life?! That is the real question. *sighs heavily*
Either I’m very predictable or you’re psychic.
YESSS, CAKE, I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR CAKE. And any other chocolatey goodness. I saw this week’s theme and was like, “DO I DO IT? DO I NOT?” (and, of course, I ended up forgetting about it.) And only ONE book? ONE?! CAAAAAAIT, THAT’S CRUEL. But probably THE WRATH AND THE DAWN, THE SILMARILLION, MAGNUS CHASE…
… Okay. So I can’t choose juuuuust one. 😉
CAKE IS LIFE. CAKE AND BOOKS. Books made out of cake is exceptionally wonderful also. (And omg I debated doing it too…but decided to go immensely bookishly happiness mushy on everyone. XD I don’t think I’ve ever done a complete shout out post before, so this was fun). XD
I have to ask SOME cruel questions. Keep my legacy alive. *flips hair* TW&TD though….eeep!
Okay, you’re thankful for the Accident Season, and I JUST BOUGHT this book, like, a few days ago. I’m even more excited to read it, now!! Bone Gap is on my TBR, too, it sounds so mysterious and kind of weird, to be honest, but I think I might like it, too. I need to order this one, too!
I really need to check out all those fabulous blogs you just recommended, I’m sure they’re all amazing, and yay for spreading the love!!
I love the things you listed, that you’re thankful for learning. I really should make myself a list like that, too, because well, hm, it’s much needed at times, to remind ourselves those things, let off the pressure a little bit, so THANK YOU for that! 😀
You have made an EXCELLENT life decision, Marie. *nods sagely* Bone Gap is just AHHHH IT’S INSANELY GOOD. *flails immensely* It’s kind of got a vibe similar to The Accident Season!? So if you like that you’ll probably like Bone Gap. XD
NAWW, YOU ARE THE SWEETEST LITTLE PINEAPPLE, CAIT! <3 THANK YOU FOR THE SHOUT-OUT! *tackle hugs* Your blog is such a beacon on my feed. I'm always looking out for your latest posts because whatever you have to say makes me smile and giggle and point at the screen, shouting "exactly!" and nodding intensely.
And oh my golly goodness, guess what? Well, you know how I'm always saying that I too am a Maggie Stiefvater fan, but I've actually only read the Shiver trilogy so it isn't really true…? Probably not, but anyway… I BOUGHT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HARDCOVER EDITION OF THE RAVEN BOYS AND IT IS GLORIOUSNESS IN PHYSICAL FORM! Ahhhhh! I thought I’d share…
And what do I have to be thankful for this year? Well, stumbling onto your little corner of the interwebs is in the top ten! 😉
*TACKLE HUGS YOU BACK WITH HORDES OF CAKE* I read that as “bacon on my feed” though and thought that was an epic compliment too. xD HEHE. *ahem* I’m so glad I found Isyria and you and Bee!! XD
YOU HAVE THE RAVEN BOYS?!?! OKAY. FANGIRL STATIONS. AFJDKLSAFJDKLS I just bought the Shiver trilogy in hardback and absolutely no regrets. They are SO PRETTY.
*THROWS PARTY FOR US BOTH* HAHAHA! You’d love that, but I don’t even know what that would mean!? And naww, thank you! <3
I KNOW, RIGHT? *flops and flails* I have Linger and Forever in hardcover and they MATCH The Raven Boys. Like could you ask for anything nicer? I love it when an author's books match up, even when they aren't the same series. It makes my shelves look even pretty, and who doesn't want that?
This was a fabulous post. It’s really important to sit down and count your lucky stars every once in a while, especially right before world domination.
YES. Or get clones to do the counting for you, because let’s face it…I’m too lazy. *sets clones to counting and sits back with cake*
OMG OMG OMG YOU CALLED ME A WRITING QUEEN. *faints and dies* Thanks so so so much for the double shout-out, while I basically just flail far too much in the distance here.
I agree with basically ALL your choices here, unless I don’t know them in which case I now have 20458 tabs open to acquaint myself with them. 😛 Jam of suffering is the most fantastic thing I’ve heard because gosh, that phrase just rolls off my tongue. Besides, it’s clearly necessary to become a fantastic author so I shall add it to my shopping list. And pfft, you don’t know how many clones have died reading your gif-less posts. I HAVE SACRIFICED MANY OF MY SELVES TO READING YOUR FURIOUSLY WONDERFUL BLOG. XD
I’m pretty sure you’ve visited all the blogs that I like … I am MASSIVELY thankful that topazwinters.com exists because she is my poetry inspiration in this life and the next. And I think VICIOUS narrowly wins over A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC in the fav book of 2015 choice … very narrowly.
yES I DID. OWN IT. YOU FABULOUS BEAN. And I’m glad you have 294082 tabs open. Very good. My mind control powers are still going strong. *nods sagely* And YES I think we should get Jam of Suffering into every day use, along with blookunity. *nods* Make it happen, Alyssa. I APPRECIATE THE SACRIFICE ALSO. My clones seem to be failing on me though, gawsh. It’s impossible to get good clonish help these days.
Vicious is AAAAMAZING. I have to read ADSOM yet though. What have I been doing with my life, truly? Gah.
THIS POST IS SO LOVELY, CAIT! I’m off to go check out the blogs and bookstagrams you recommended because YAY BOOKISH AWESOMENESS. There’s so many blogs I love as well, but my favorites would have to be yours, The Quiet People, Deadly Darlings and SO MANY MORE GOSH.
Also, a book I’m reallyyy thankful that exists is I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson, the SKulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I’ve read all of them this year and AHH SO MUCH LOVE. *hugs my bookshelf*
I REMEMBERED MORE BLOGS. I also love It Starts at Midnight, The Fictional Reader, Writer of Wrongs and The Perpetual Page Turner. There’s literally so many amazing blogs out there, I swear I could list, like, a thousand more.
EEEP!! I’m glad you liked it, Kyra. XD It’s a lot of links and rec’s, I know. 😛 Hehe, I should probably do this more often and less intensely?! AH WELL IT WAS FUN. But omg, bookstagrams are the best, right?! #goals And Deadly Darlings! I LOVE THEM TOO. Also the others you listed, so clearly we both have excellent blogging taste. 😉
Oops, I don’t think I’ve read any of the books you’re thankful for so I’ll have to check them out straight away! This is such a great post, Cait! Also, the pictures are gorgeous 😀
Zareena @ The Slanted Bookshelf
AWWK, thanks, Zareena! And awk, if you do read any of those books I HOPE YOU LIKE THEM. HEHE. XD They are just some of the most beautiful books in existence, imo. :’)
Thank-you for the thank-you, lovely girl! I am thankful to all of you young whippersnapper bloggers for keeping my brain and thoughts young. The book I am most thankful for this year (so far) is The Glittering World because it reminded me to take breaks from my piles of YA and MG books to read more Adult titles, and that Adult Lit indie authors need my attention, too. Now to return the thanks, Paper Fury is my favorite book blog by far. I love your quirky sass and hearing about your writing adventures! Your book photography and “gif”tedness are icing on the cake. 😀
I’ve read a few adult titles this year that I’ve enjoyed too. hehe. YAY for titles outside our comfort zones, right?! AWWWW. REALLY?!?! I AM SO HONOURED. *flaps around happily* I always love your posts too. You write so excellently and I love your blog. XDXD
Such a great list Cait, and once again your photos are extraordinarily amazing! 🙂 I am so happy that you liked Bone Gap!
AWWK. Thank you Milka! 😀 I appreciate that so so much. And isn’t Bone Gap just THE BEST?!?!
Awesome list!! One of the books I am supremely thankful for this year is Winter!! I just started The Lunar Chronicles series this year so I am grateful for every book in it and Marissa Meyer. I love her!! I have never read Cassandra Clare, but I think I need to. 🙂
AHHHH I CAN’T WAIT TO READ IT TOO!! My copy is coming in the mail so I’m basically stalking my mailbox waiting. hehe. And omg I definitely recommend Cassandra Clare books. YOU NEED HER BOOKS IN YOUR LIFE I PROMISE.
Cait, my gosh this post is full of awesome! I’m so completely honoured to be on that list of your favourite blogs! What would I do without your comments and posts to read? It seems like it’s been a big year for is veteran bloggers, I learnt that I couldn’t do everything myself too.
*FLAILS AND HUGS YOU* And it is kinda a big year for the veterans right!! I think we’re all settling down a bit from trying to do everything too. XD Which is always an excellent thing to learn. *shares pineapple cake with you*
*snorts* There’s no getting over a hardcover addiction! Once you own ONE, it’s all over! *strokes dust jackets* (Just imagine The God of Cats from The Rest of Us Just Live Here stroking all the cats. That is me.)
I love this post, Cait! Thanks for all the cake too. I love so many of the books and people you’ve listed in this post! I’m super excited to read The Accident Season and Bone Gap soon. Those have been on my TBR for a while now and I love magical realism so I’m sure I’ll love these too! Hmmm, I’ve read too many books this year to choose just one that I’m thankful for so I’ll have to just pick one at random. Every Day by David Levithan! It was my first David Levithan title and it made me want to read more of his work, which is AMAZING!
As for blogs, I love Aentee @ Read at Midnight. She has the most wonderful ideas and the most beautiful posts. I also love CW @ Read Think Ponder because her discussions and reviews are always lengthy and insightful. And of course I love Jeann too! I’m so grateful that she chose me to be one of her co-bloggers. I’ve definitely made a lot of new friends since blogging at Happy Indulgence, and it’s been wonderful having two co-bloggers who I can discuss anything with daily!
*WAILS* IT’S OVER, JENNA. HOLD ME AS I DESCEND INTO THE HORRORS OF HARDCOVER ADDICTION. *flops on the ground* They’re so beautiful though, right?! They are just strokeable. And that is totally a word.
Oh oh yes read Bone Gap and The Accident Season ASAP and you will not regret it. Magical Realism is my LIFE and they’re so beautiful. I just bought Bone Gap (HARDCOVER I’M A GONER) and no regrets. :’)
Anetee is totally incredible! How are her posts so beautiful?!?! OMG. <3
This is a wonderful list, Cait! You are amazing, by the way. I don’t comment as often as I should about your greatness. I think I make the comment in my head and then just assume that I posted it even if I didn’t. So, yeah, I am a terrible commenter sometimes. Thanks so much for your blog. It really is an inspiration!
If I had to pick just one book that I was thankful for this year, it would probably be “The Wrath and the Dawn” because I love it to pieces or maybe the entire Lunar Chronicles series which I started (and finished) this year.
I hope you have a great week, even if you don’t celebrate Thursday with way too much turkey and dessert.
Amanda
AWK, you are a wonderful commenter Amanda! I LOVE YOUR COMMENTs. *gives you cake with sprinkles* And yayy!! I’m so glad TW&TD makes your list too because awk, wasn’t it just so magical and amazing?! I’m still reeling at the cliffhanger though. I NEED BOOK 2 OMG.
(I did a semi-celebration of Thanksgiving because I have American relatives! SO YAY WE HAD TURKY AND PIE and it was good. *nods*)
Hi! Great post! I always love the way your posts look 🙂 I’m thankful for discovering your blog!
My TTT
Leslie
Aw, I’m so glad!! WOOT! Thanks for visiting, Leslie! CAKE FOR YOU.
Everybody’s lives should be at least 99% about books. E.V.E.R.Y.B.O.D.Y.
And I’m gonna say it: BOOKS ARE AMAZING! and so is cake. 🙂
YES. NOT GONNA LIE. YOU SPEAK TRUTH. Books and cakes are life. Or books made out of cake.
I am SOO thankful for winter. I have been waiting for it for forever (also known as 18 months. But forever. Luckily fairest consoled me… a bit) (note to self: capitalise book titles) and getting to read blogs and food and also winter(the season this time) and fires and fairy lights. Also, you will be thankful (I hope) that I am reading my first maggie steifvater, Shiver. It’s rather good. All those recommendations and pineapple like flailing must be rubbing off! (Or, I was stuck on a 5hr train and it was the only book left) XD
WINTER AHHHH!!! YESSSSS. My copy is coming soon and I’m utterly impatiently waiting for it. *hugs mailbox waiting* AHHH YOU LIKE SHIVER?!?! YOU ARE WONDERFUL. I LIKE YOU, SHAR. I’m glad my
mind controlrecommendations are working *nods* and the best thing about Maggie Stiefvater is, if you like her books, she has a TON out, so one can read and read to their hearts content. :’)This is also an accurate representation of what it’s like to buddy-read with me. I’m finished before you reach pg. 5. #sorrynotsorry
LMAO! And that’s why I can’t buddy-read; I’m also a speed reader :3
Wonderful list! I love how thought-out your list is; I wouldn’t even know where to begin had I gone with a more general/personal list (I decided to go thematic with my list this week). Found some new websites and tools to check out in the process, so many thanks! 🙂
OMG YOU ARE?!? *speed reading hi five* I feel like we speedy readers are few and far between. XD I’m always done on the first day when we’ve organised it for like a few weeks. haha.
AWK. I’m glad you liked my list!! It did take a while and probably has too much info. BUUUUT. So much things to love, right?! 😛
You’re thankful for CAKE?! … I never would have guessed 😛
Wow, BIG list! I feel like you have just given me an entire afternoons worth of links to go and investigate!
I can’t believe I still haven’t read The Wrath and the Dawn, failing at life right now! I am loving your list of authors though, so so so much love for Cassandra Clare and Rick Riordan ALWAYS! And I’m super thankful that I FINALLY gave The Lunar Chronicles a go this year and discovered the incredible talented person that is Marissa Meyer!
Goodreads made my list this week too, HOW DID WE LIVE BEFORE GOODREADS?!!!
I also like your little list of stuff you are thankful for having learnt about blogging. I totally related to a lot of them, mostly that it’s ok to not read all the books. That one was hard to accept 🙁
Happy thanksgiving fellow non USA person who doesn’t celebrate thanksgiving! 🙂
I LIKE TO SURPRISE YOU ALL On OCCASION. Because we all know I never eat cake. NEEEEVER. *grins evilly*
And yes, omg, I totally threw ALL the links at you didn’t I?!? XD I rarely do posts like this, but I think I should do them more often and less intensely. hehe
I absolutely binge-read all of Riordan’s books this year and he totally shot up to one of my favourite authors. XD Will FOREVER love Cassandra Clare’s books (I’m so anxiously awaiting Lady Midnight, omg) and yes! yes! You need to try TW&TD one day! 😀
I DON’T THINK WE DID LIVE BEFORE GOODREADS. We just kinda loafed waiting for its existence. *nods*
These are all great. I’m thankful we live in a time when we can read and talk about it and blog about it (and do other stuff too- I guess)- how cool is that? 🙂 And all the awesome book world (tho in GRRM’s case does he have to destroy everyone we love?). And food too. 🙂
YES. It is insanely awesome and insanely wonderful and needs to be thanked so so much. hehe. I can’t even imagine what I’d be doing now if I didn’t have a blog to shriek about my love of books. (I think GRRM does need to destroy everything we love. Because he is a meanie. Omg. *breaks down sobbing*)
GAH I HAVE NOT COMMENTED HERE IN WEEKS. (But I won NaNo yesterday and now I’m allowed to interact with other human beings so that’s good.) I didn’t do TTT this week because I’ve abandoned my blog to putter along in scheduled posts, but I guess I should have. This post is awesome.
I refuse to pick one book. Challenger Deep. Magnus Chase. Through the Dark. Unwind. The Graveyard Book. TOO MANY BOOKS. (Also, I finally read Made You Up and that was pretty awesome too.)
I HAVE MISSED YOU ELLIE. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN. But omg yay for winning NANo!!! (I totally understand focusing on NaNo though. 😉 That’s what I do too…ignore humanity and just LIVE iN MY BOOK.)
And OKAY THEN. Refuse to pick one. XD I understand…(it’s a horrible question. But I like to be devious on occasion.) Omg, the Graveyard book is INCREDIBLE. I read it this year and have no idea why I wanted so long. :’) MADE YOU UP. AFJDKSALDJLKJ
Youve shared so many awesome things that you’ve learned, and I followed your twitter friends!! Great Post! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s my Top Ten Tuesday
Eeeep! YAY. I hope you enjoy their magnificent tweets. XD
Yay! I’m only this list. And normally nice? EXCUSE ME.
Well…who am I kidding? I can be evil. 😉 Muwahaha.
I’m thankful for you as well, Cait. You’re a pretty cool kid. Maybe 😉
MAYBE!?!?! MAAAAYBE?!?! AFTER ALL I’VE DONE FOR YOU, WREN. (Which is, erm, nothing, but stilllll.) I ONLY GET A MAYBE. *sighs passionately and collapses*
XD But you truly are awesome. 😉
Okay. A higher chance of yes than maybe. By .000001. Maybe. 😉 I’m evil, aren’t I? That’s why we get along so well!
The Dark Side rocks.
You’re truly awesome too, Cait dear.
apparently I am the best minion because I clicked on like… 86% of the blogs and twitters and links you posted and I’m going to follow them. I am the best minion.
omo you have anxiety issues too?? *emergency hugglepet* and understanding//supportive parents are the best.
YES YOU ARE THE BEST MINION, LISA. Omg, did I not tell you about my anxiety?! I SHALL EMAIL YOU YES?!?!
YOU MAY HAVE MENTIONED IT BUT I NEVER CAUGHT IT BEFORE???? YES EMAIL ME ALL THE THINGS.
Definitely lots of information – but it’s fun to see what you’re currently loving! I know a lot of the blogs you mentioned, but I’ll have to check out some of the others!
GAWSH I absolutely threw all the recommendations at you peoples this week. XD
I’m mega thankful that Magonia exists; I finished it four months ago and I cannot stop thinking about it. I feel like I’ve got a book crush on it, and I’m just here viewing it wistfully from afar, meanwhile it’s completely unaware of my existence.
I’m going to check out some of the bloggers, twitterererers, and instagramerererers you mentioned. I need to get back into Instagram – SO LITTLE TIME.
Unrequited love, omg Rosie. *pats shoulder and gives you birdseed cake* I HOPE YOU TWO GET TOGETHER SOON FOREVER. Instagramerererers is now my new favourite word. FAVOURITE I TELL YOU. And when you discover the secret to fitting in all the things of ever in one day — SIGN ME UP TOO.
I love your list! I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. I am grateful for so many books I have read this year. I am glad my husband decided to pick up Jane Eyre for the first time and asked me if I wanted to read it along with him. Visiting an old favorite was such a delight. It isn’t something I indulge in often.
I am still trying to make the habit of writing down my ideas as soon as I have them down. It’s been over 9 years and I still don’t do it regularly. All those brilliant ideas completely lost!
It did take me a long time. xD But definitely worth it! BECAUSE YAY BLOGGER LOVE. Omg that’s wonderful that you and your husband are both bookworms! Good on you both. 😉 And it’s good to indulge in rereads, right?!
AGH. I need to glue like a pen and paper to my forehead. XD
I’m determined to comment more now and make it onto next years list come hell or highwater.
I’m thankful for my mum, for my loving hubby and cuddly furbaby that has really become my constant companion. For people who are there for me when I need a hand or a shoulder to cry on and vice versa. For those who love without judgement and accept you for you, rather than how convenient you are. And I’m thankful for fiction to escape to, when life gets a bit too hard.
Most of all I’m thankful that I’m healthy.
I think this is the most serious comment I’ve ever left on here.
I need to lay down.
YES. Grand goal, Kelly. GRAND GOAL. *nods* Cuddly furbabies are the best (although mine is on an exercise strike which I guess I understand but gee) and YAY for family. :’) All the squishy feels. And yessss, for fiction. FICTION IS A LIFE SAVER. And health. Omg. Health is wonderful.
Please do sit down a moment though, Kelly. I’m worried for you. If I mention THE STICK you’ll probably regain your righteous indignation and horror at me though…
Such gorgeous photos in this post!
I love how one of the first books you mentioned in your post is The Accident Season- I just finished reading it last week, and utterly enjoyed it. So haunting and lovely!
AWK. Thank you Hannah! *gives you delicious cake* YESSSS I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKE THE ACCIDENT SEASON TOO!! It was just so creepy and magical and maybe made me howl several times in happiness. :’)
Okay, aside from yours… favourite blogs: The Mile Long Bookshelf, Weaving Pages, Hawwa Etc (although you’ve already mentioned Hawwa, she deserves another mention!), and Through a Cat’s Eyes.
Instagrams: BlueEyedBiblio, bekkareads, and saskiareads
I’m REALLY thankful to have read Every Day by David Levithan this year. It’s been 6 months and I still haven’t wrote a review because it rendered me speechless. Every Day made me want to really live my life, and gave me so many thoughts on existence and how there is a fine line between living and existing. It’s just wonderful.
AWH OMG HOLLY THANK YOU <3
*creeps away*
@Holly: Hawwa definitely deserves INFINITE mentions because her art is soo so good. Omg. And ahhh I just looked up those accounts and OMG YES THEY’RE BEAUTIFUL. Following immediately. (I have such a weakness for glorious bookish photography.) Awk! Yay for books that are so good THAT WORDS FAIL IN OUR FLAILING. (Gawsh, I really shouldn’t say “flail” and “fail” in the same sentence because it messes with my eyeballs.) XDXXD
Gleefully starts following ALL THE PEOPLE in the blog. Because we all need more bookish friends. 😉
And thank you for being an awesome overlord. This blog is the best. I’m always excited when I see a post in my inbox. You’re a fabulous reviewer, a hilarious and fabulous person, and dragon queen.
Thanks Cait. 😀
yESSS. Everyone needs more bookish friends. XD AND I LOVE YOUR BLOG TOO. I’m endlessly thankful I’ve gotten to flail over books and writing with you this year!! <3
I am thankful for cake, too. Also, ice cream. And chocolate. And macarons. And those giant chocolate bars you can buy at Metropolitan Market during Christmas.
Also know that I am giving you a slightly awkward hug through the computer for mentioning me.
I like the sound of these giant chocolate bars. Let us just say YUM together in mutual food appreciation. *gives you an entirely awkward hug through the internet back*
AW. Just. AW. This post is, according to me, the CUTEST thing ever. Like, you’ve literally BARED yourself to us! Good going, Cait! This is progress! Soon you’ll be more happy and less…introvert-ish? Oh gah, I’m kidding you’re still amazing 😉 I LOVED THE WRATH AND THE DAWN like oh my god BEST BOOK OF 2015 EVER! And the book photography, I have to agree, is eye candy. Especially Aimee’s – I love her pictures!
Lol, you know what I’M thankful for? PAPER FURY!!! The emotion, the snark, the oh so sordid gore and LAUGHTER…I’m in it for it all. Hm. I should start posting more book pictures on Instagram lol. God knows I’ve hoarded up thousands.
aWWW, THANKS MADIHA. <3 YOU NICE BEAN. I will never be less introvertish, hehe, but that's okay because it's who I am! BAHAH. I do need to get my clones back on the job though. They've slacked off majorly this year and left me with all the work. -_- *fires several of them and hires new ones*
tHE WRATH AND THE DAWWNNNNN. *flails about it forever* I want the sequel ASAP. And then I want the author to write 924802 more books really quickly so I can love them too.
ZOMG. *blushes* I'm so glad you like my crazy blog. xD
1. The wrath and the dawn is definitely one of my best books of 2015. I also looooved The rest of us just live here and I can’t wait to get started in The demon king and Illuminae.
2. Maggie Stiefvater, Marissa Meyer and Rae Carson *high fives*
5. All those shiny instagram accounts *life goal*
8. Nellie & Co has so many useful tips. Chasing Faerytales has the best discussions. Happy Indulges is also one of my favs.
yESSSSS I hope you like The Demon King!! I just ordered the last two books and when I’ve read them all I’m going to do a full series review BECAUSE IT IS AMAZING AND TOTALLY UNDERRATED. *hyperventilates with love for Demon Kings and Co for a moment*
And aren’t those instagrams everything?!?! Omg. #goals I crave those skills. xD
And I’m thankful for having the best bookish twin ever! ♥ Love you Cait, and happy Thanksgiving! I’m off to go check out all these blogs, Twitters, and Instagrams you’ve mentioned!
YAYYYY!!! *BOOKISH TWIN HUG* So many recommendations to follow on here, right?!? I may have gone slightly overboard but #noregrets
Okay so BONE GAP looks really cool! I looked it up, and could you tell me… is it a western??? It mentions a corn field and oregon and I got a vague “Western” vibe but nothing to confirm it xD But anyways, PAPER FURY is my favorite blog 😛 So I’m thankful that you exist xD and some books I’m really happy I read this year are: The Grisha Trilogy, The Raven Boys (AMAZING), Since You’ve Been Gone (I find I really really like her brand of contemporary romance!), Every Last Word… there’s just a lot to appreciate this year! 😀
I think it might be?!? It’s definitely a kind of small-town-cornfield-vibe. But not necessarily cowboys if you know what I mean? BUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH OMG. *hugs book excessively*
AWWWWW. *blushes and then dances in sprinkles of happiness* THANK YOU SJ. <3 That means so so much. AHHH!H!
And the Raven boys. OMG I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE A FAN. Also Siege and Storm is one of my favourite books of ever. *happy sigh*
Thank you for all the recommendations! I loved all the blogs!
SQUEEE. Glad you liked it, Meyan!! 😀
Obviously I’m thankful for you, Cait, you wonderful & lovely & fantastic majestic creature. Your blog posts always excite me so I’m thankful for you because without you, this blog wouldn’t exist. SO YAY FOR CAIT’S PARENTS WHO’VE MADE SUCH A GREAT CREATION!!! Also thank you for introducing me to some more amazing blogs today, woohooo!! Can we just take a moment for being so grateful? 😄 (ALSO FOREVER THANKFUL FOR MAGGIE STIEFVATER FOR NOT ONLY BEING A FANTASTIC WRITER BUT FOR BRINGING US SUCH MAGICAL NOVELS)
AWWW. YOU ARE SO KIND, YOU WONDERFUL BEAN. <3 *SMUSHES CAKE OF HAPPINESS IN YOUR HAIR* :') yESSS LEt'S JUST TAKE A MILLION MOMENTS TO BE GRATEFUL, OMG. There is so much wonderfulness to be happy about out there. And also thank goodness Maggie Stiefvater writes COPIOUS amounts of books. XD
Aw, thanks for the shout-out! XD
My favourite blogs are this one (duh) and Christina Writes (https://christinahufford.wordpress.com/). I read a lot of blogs, but these are the only two I read borderline religiously. 🙂
I’m thankful that All Fall Down was written. Also Half Wild.
YAYYY I love Christina’s blog too!! AND AFJDKALFSD yES FOR HALF WILD. I’m so excited and nervous for the last book. XD
*smack* (You did say to smack you if you said the word “thankful” one more time.)
<3 <3 <3 I'm thankful that I have your wonderful blog to comment on and for your great comment replies. 🙂
I've never seen the blog Feed Your Fiction Addiction before, but I'm in love with the little fox girl drawing. I also only know two of the Instagram accounts you listed, so I will definitely be checking them out once I finish this comment. (I'm especially excited by that giant stack of Harry Potter books!)
The paper flowers in the Shiver picture are GORGEOUS. Wow. *__*
I think I've recommended all of my favorite blogs to you, but I do have some favorite Instagram accounts to suggest (besides yours, of course). @xcrini is probably the one I recommend most to people, in part because I love the color of her walls, haha. I also really like @artsymusings, @buechermonster, and @papersophie (Oh, her blog – paperbreathers.wordpress.com – is a new favorite, so I probably haven't recommended that one to you yet). My favorite non-bookish Instagram accounts (not that you asked) are @talesintransit and @sejkko. Are you following of any of these already?
It's so hard to pick ONE book, as you know, but I'm truly grateful for the copy of Simon vs. that I won in a giveaway, because just looking at it makes me smile. Your library hold should be in soon – I hope it doesn't disappoint!
OKAY I DESERVED THAT. xD It was a lot of thanking, omg. XD Ahhh, thank you about the Shiver photo. So wintery and cold right?! (Despite the fact I’ve never….seen….snow. Well. I have an imagination. xD) AFJDLSA I’M SO EXCITED FOR SIMON. I DON’T THINK IT’LL DISAPPOINT I REALLY DON’T.
Oh oh I follow @xcrini already! LOVE. I shall check out all the rest ASAP. Thank you for the recs. :’)
Whaaaat, you’ve never seen snow?! I know where you live, but I’m still surprised. I mean, I’ve been skiing in Australia. (And by skiing I mean that I slid along on my butt, because I couldn’t seem to stay upright, despite being told that I was cross-country skiing, not downhill.) I guess you’d need to go to the mountains, though. Anyways, WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO VISIT ME? Our snow just melted, but I’m sure there will be plenty more this winter.
I’ve always lived at the top end of Australia. XD And when we went roadtripping it was always upwards. So I’ve seen like ALL of the Northern Territory, scoured Queensland, and even done a bit of Western Australia. But down looooow? NOPE. Bucket list job, obviously. xD (I’d love to see Tasmania because SO PRETTY.) Butt-skiing eh? Sounds perfectly elegant. XD *dies laughing* AHEM.
IF YOU LURE ME WITH SNOW, I BETCHA I’LL COME.
I’m sitting here cracking up at all the talk of “top end” and “upwards” and “down low.” XD
Oooh, I wouldn’t mind going to Tasmania, either.
YOU’RE WELCOME ANY TIME.
OMG YES “MADE YOU UP” AND “THE WRATH AND THE DAWN” and I literally just posted a review of “The Rest of Us Just Live Here”!
I just started “Shiver” by Maggie Stiefvater as well, ha! (Although it’s a re-read, but it’s been foooorever since I’ve read it.)
Btw, you introduced me to some amazing publisher-twitter accounts. Bless you, Cait. Bless you.
AFJDKLSA THEY ARE SUCH GOOD BOOKS RIGHT??!? I’m literally flailing at how much I love them. :’) I reread shiver last year !! And Forever this year! Don’t ask me why I didn’t reread Linger…hmm. I shall do that though. SOON.
*accepts the blessings and dances in them*
Aww your post is so awesome! I love that you recognized so many different people for being good a different things.
And your comment about writing down ideas right away-yep, thats me! I have got to figure out a better system for this. When I do remember to write it down, I find I forget where I wrote it down at!! Stupid memory!
And now I am off to follow all those people you mentioned!
Awk, ME TOO. I seriously am constantly like “Yeah but that’s an obvious idea, I’ll remember” and then 2 seconds later…gone. -_- I need to glue a notepad to my forehead basically. xD
I seriously think you are amazin’!
I have finally found something that we differ on… gasp!! And that is….. I’m a paperback lover!!
AWW THANKS ERICA. *blushes and flails* And I might adore hardcovers but my shelves are still 80% paperbacks and NO REGRETS.
Wow! Cait, that is A LOT of thankfulness. Like I seriously can’t even imagine the work it took you to put together ALL of these lists – because really this is like top ten lists within a top ten list. I’m kind of in awe. And I’m happy that I’m one of your top ten commenters – it’s hard not to comment on your posts when they’re all so fantabulous! Okay, I’m heading off now to check out your favorite blogs., since I don’t already follow all of them!
It did take me a hugely long time. XD But I loved doing it and I LOVE giving shout outs to all the amazingness out there (although I’m dyyyying that I’ve probably missed so many epic people too *frets*) so it’s definitely worth it. xD I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENT DEDICATION SO MUCH. 😀
*CLICKS EVERY LINK AND FOLLOWS EVERY BLOGGER* I love that you turned your TTT into a lovefest (and linkfest!) for others in the blogging community, that’s super awesome. I have to go stalk every blog, twitter, and instagram you’ve mentioned and go on a following spree now. :3
AHHH I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT, CHRISTINA! 😀 I was a bit worried about doing this because I can never mention EVERYONE I want to (because there are infinite epic people to flail over) but, stillllll. HAVE FUN
STALKINGFOLLOWING.This is the loveliest post! And you are quite a talented photographer. I’m quite taken with your Shiver and rainbow spine pics! Thanks for sharing all your favorite things. I need to spend some time exploring these links!
Awk, thanks, Lucy! 😀 I do so love my camera hehe, and some books are really photogenic right?! *pets Shiver lovingly*
Great list! I’m not American either, but I chose to do this week’s post too, since like you said, being thankful is a good thing.
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/24/top-ten-tuesday-32/
It’s an excellent habit to get into right?! 😛
ALL THE HAPPINESS. And mint chocolate chip gelato!! There’s a store near where my sister works that sells the best gelato and now I want to go there and buy all the gelato ever. Also, I share your hardcover obsession. They’re just. so. beautiful. As for bookish things, I’m thankful that I read The Knife of Never Letting Go this year, and also Cinder, Game of Thrones, Imaginary Girls, Ruthless, Throne of Glass (which I loved, by the way). And I think (pretty sure) that I discovered your blog this year, so I’m thankful for that too. 🙂
*gobbles gelato because is sweltering hot and needs it* So I clearly need to visit the store near you because OMG GELATOOOO. Ahem.
It shouldn’t be legal for hardcovers to be so gosh darn beautiful. I covet them incredibly. I even get sad when I can’t library hardcovers because they only brought a paperback. XD I’M BECOMING A BOOK SNOB. HALP. :’) Omg I need look up this Imaginary Girls. That’s the only one on your list I haven’t read!! (You have epic bookish taste, obviously.)
WHAT OMG I AM ON YOUR TOP 10 FAVE BLOGGERS LIST WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT OMG <3. I was in a bad mood before and now I AM SO NOT <3 THANK YOU FOR APPRECIATING THE 'PLEASING AESTHETIC' OF MY BLOG < THAT'S WHAT I WAS AIMING FOR. and alsoooo thank you for praising my art aksjdhbenmkajdhfdb <333
I did a few favourites posts last year e.g instagram accounts, books etc but i think i need to do an updated one now because i have discovered SO MANY MORE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE/BLOGS/ACCOUNTS.
THANK YOU CAIT.
HECK YES YOU ARE. OBVIOUSLY. NEVER STOP BLOGGING, OKAY?!?! BECAUSE I WOULD CRY. I LOVE YOUR BLOG TO BITS (OBVIOUSLY). AFDKJSLADJK XDXD It was so hard only listing 10 instagrams I loved!! I could’ve listed SO SO MANY OMG. Clearly I need to do regular insta shout outs. XD
Such a lovely idea and post, Cait. I look forward to looking at all the blogs you’ve thanked and getting to know their awesomeness 😀
By the way, your bookstagram is SO PRETTY!
AWEK. THANK YOU. :’) I’m trying to learn off the instagram pros out there. XD heeh.
Your learning list is pretty much about learning to accept that you’re human. Where did all the clones go?! I also can’t believe I haven’t gotten The Accident Season yet! I even saw it and considered it but didn’t! What was I thinking?
BAH. TRUE. Omg. *hides learning list* The clones are obviously FAILING THEIR JOBS, OMG. *fires one or two and hires new ones* Yessss, you need the Accident Season ASAP!! I feel like rereading it and I only just read it. xD
I hope the new clones are better than the old clones and not just exactly the same!
This is the BEST “I’m so thankful for all the things” post of ever!!! Sooo many incredibly amazing people and things mentioned. Some are even new to me, and I WILL be checking them out. And THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE IG SHOUT-OUT!! You’re so sweet, I can’t even. <33 Happy Thanksgiving!
EEEP, I’m glad you liked it, Lisa. XD I think this is the first complete shout-out post Iv’e ever done. 0_0 CLEARLY MUST DO MORE. And your instagram account is just ajfkdslafd beautiful. I can’t believe I only just followed. xD I MISSED OUT ON SO MUCH.
Thank you for this amazing list of stuff! I especially enjoyed the list of blogs, I found a lot of new people to follow on Bloglovin. I didn’t even know about these blogs but they’re all so good!!
Yayy!! I hope you enjoy these blogs because (hehe, obviously XD) they are some of my FAVOURITE OF FAVOURITESTS. :’)
Aww, Cait! I do try, really (even if I AM late this time)–you have such an AWESOME blog and I get a huge grin every time I read one of your posts. Today is no exception! Especially when you mention Maggie Stiefvater again–you KNOW my love for her XD And all of your photos–seriously, I know I say this practically every comment, but they are just KILLER–in a good way. And even though you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you at least enjoy some pie.
AFJDLSAKDFJK THANK YOU, ERIN. *gives you cake and sprinkles* AWK!! I shall flail intensely that you like my photos. And I did enjoy pie!! I actually have American relatives so we had pie and turkey in a sort of Australian-version-of-thanksgiving. XD PIIIIE IS GOOD.
Ah, I’ve been so busy with NaNoWriMo and life that I totally missed this topic for the meme. Darn. It’s funny, I was just thinking about how I needed to follow more bookstagrammers – Folded Pages Distillery has an absolutely beautiful account! Thanks for sharing! I don’t know every blogger you’ve mentioned but there are some pretty awesome ones on that list.
Also: “Give up trying to find more bookshelf space. Moaning and gnashing teeth are acceptable alternatives.” – Amen, sister, amen!
Ooh, I hope you enjoy these insta accounts then!! (They’re just like a fraction of the ones I love immensely. hehe.) OMG HOW IS NANO!?!? I totally understand getting swallowed by it. That’s basically me. XD I can’t focus on anything else when I’m writing. It’s just WRITING or nothing. XD
I may have totally gone through about a million photos on one of them . NaNo is keeping me busy! I’m hoping to hit 50K before the weekend is over. Then life will be back to normal. Haha.
*shrieks* You mentioned me on your blog!! Agh! I am so happy.
*cough* Thank you! I love your blog, the content, the writing, the SNIPPETS when they come. 😉 You’re all around awesome.
BLOOD RED ROAD! Yes! I must finish this trilogy somehow. It’s so beautiful and the characters are so compelling. I miss Saba.
I think I’m going to have to follow some of these instagramers.
Oo, and I looove that last photo! It just captures the creative chaos without being so cluttered it’s unfocused. It’s lovely and I adore all the colors (*whispers* and the books).
Awww, ASHLEY. <3 YOU ARE SO NICE. *sniffles happily* I just ordered the last Blood Red Road book (Raging Star? I think? I'm basically calling them in my head "Blood Red Road" and "Bloodier Reder Roader" and "Bloodiest Redest Rodest" because I'm absolutely professional like that.) AND I CAN'T WAIT TO READ IT ERMAGERSH.
Squeee, thank you though. :') It means a lot that you like my photos! 😀 I SHALL DANCE NOW.
AWW CAIT!! You made my day 😀 You are too sweet and kind, and THANK YOU for being you and being fabulous. I, uh, need to take a pretty solid look at your things that are okay to do. Maybe I will print them out, and when I am close to collapsing, I shall read it and then collapse promptly!
Also. Those books? Yes, I have loved them ALL (the ones that I have read. Which is most of them). We obviously have incredible bookish taste. The Accident Season, Illuminae, Made You Up, Wrath, and The Rest of Us Just Live Here are ALL on my favorites shelf! Actually so is Blood Red Road but I read it a couple years ago- BUT I just ordered the whole trilogy from Book Outlet for $5!! FOR ALL THREE! And now I need to read Bone Gap. Obviously. And one of those Demon books is on my wishlist (after I read your review, and maybe Jeann’s?)
Now, I don’t even know who to recommend since I want to recommend ALL the people. Follow Holly (@skizzles22) on Twitter if you want someone to tell you what has happened in your absence. She is like, my Twitter news station 😉 Vlora’s blog (Reviews and Cake, which I think you visit already, but you asked!) is my favorite new find because she cracks me up! I have no actual idea WHO I follow on Instagram. I just look at pictures of books and push on hearts, okay? Yours are always my favorite because I actually know who you are when I see them 😀
How can I pick ONE book?! Gosh. I’m going to say Walk on Earth a Stranger, only because I am pretty sure that Rae Carson wrote it for Childhood Shannon. We must be secret telepathy buddies or something.
I”m going back and catching up on the blog posts I missed while I was away and I’M SO GLAD I DECIDED TO BECAUSE THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY. Also, clearly I need to up my book photography game because they are INCREDIBLE in this post <3
AHHHH YOU’RE BACK!! HUZZAH AND HURRAY!!! (Did you have a good holiday?!) And omg, I feel like I constantly need to up my photography game with these geniuses on instagram. XD
CAAAAIT! I am so thankful for you toooooo! Your posts never fail to entertain. And to be worthy of mention among your list of instagrammers flattered me 😉
Your massive list of things to be thankful for makes me think that perhaps it might be a good idea to construct my own list. Sometimes it’s great to have a reminder that there’re positive things in life too when we’re down.
YOU ARE SUCH AN AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHER. YOU ARE LIKE MY PHOTOGRAPHY GOALS. *dies in the awesomeness of your skills* XD And reminders of positive things is really good. I’ve never done a post like this before, but I think it should be a regular occurrence. :’)
I’m mildly biased, because your blog is my favorite thing ever, but this is just THE BEST POST ON THE WHOLE OF THE INTERNETS.
I can’t say I needed these additional ONE MILLION AWESOME PEOPLE TO FOLLOW in FIVE MILLION DIFFERENT PLACES, but boy am I glad to have found them! Who needs school and work when you can just stay on Bloglovin/Instagram all day and marvel at the others’ marvelousness? No one, that’s who!
*runs off to read back through their posts*
(Thought I might want to finish NaNoWriMo first)
(Priorities)
I’m mildly biased to think your comments are the best thing of ever. XD AFJDSL THANK YOU, LEXIE. And yes! Yes! These are all human beans who are HIGHLY worth following. *nods* And exactly. One doesn’t need anything but internet (and cake, though, cake is important to existing).
(How are you doing with NaNo!??!!? I HOPE YOU ARE DOING REALLY WELL!! :D)
Gelato is indeed a wonderful thing, though I’m more of a mango gelato person myself. 😉 You have lots of things to be thankful for and that’s a really good thing. No matter what country you’re in there are always things to be grateful that you have. ^ ^
storitorigrace.blogspot.com
Mango is LIFE. So I will completely side with you there. XD And yes! It’s grand to just be thankful and to shout about how wonderful everyone else is. :’)
Amen. Mango is my favorite flavor! Yeshhh!
I’m only just now reading this post and realizing that you included me in your Twitter list! *becomes an inarticulate potato of feels* Daww, I’m honored! ^_^
YOU ARE A WONDERFUL POTATO. <3
I LOVE HOW MUCH OF A COMPLIMENT THIS IS. xD (Laughing right now.)
I really love how you set up your post this week. I really wish I thought of it. It’s such a nice way to recognize all the people who you’re thankful for. I’m not familiar with most of them, so I’ll have to check out their blogs and introduce myself.
Awww, thank you!! *beams happily* I basically never do posts like this BUT I SHOULD MOR EOFTEN. Because it’s also a great way to recommend awesome blogs and twitters and instagrams. XD
I’ve found so many new Bookstagrammers and bloggers to follow now! 😀 Thanks for introducing them Cait ^-^ I too am grateful that many of those books and authors exist. And hardcovers. MY BOOKSHELVES WOULD BE LESS PRETTY WITHOUT THEM. Writing ideas down straightaway is a good thing to keep in mind, as I’ve learned the hard way *sigh* ALSO YOU MENTIONED MY TWITTER *weird dinosaur screeching* I haven’t been on there in a while (or on your blog!) because I’ve been exhausted, but I hope to tweet more now that I’m on break 😀
Yayyyy!! I HIGHLY recommend all of these, hehe. I think hardcovers are probably the meaning of life?! OMG THEY ARE SO ENDLESSLY PRETTY. And expensive. *collapses in a heap of poordom*
I hope you’re catching up on rest too, during your break. 😉
Thank you so much for the shout out and much love right back at ya!
