Let me just say yikes. But also yay because of all the glorious books coming out in 2015! (That alone makes the year change acceptable.) Only ten more days and we’ll be writing ’14 where we’re supposed to write ’15. YAY.
I usually title my recap posts as “Stacking the Shelves” but I’m changing to Weekly Fury!
I want to recap more than just my books…like my puppy and instagram and what glorious things the internet has coughed up recently. SO. Let us proceed!
T H E S T A C K
I had a small run in with the library. There are a few casualties.
[Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks – because this will be the title of my auto-biography] [The Thickety by J.A. White – I blame Faye] [Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard – thank you Hachette! – are you happy, Jess?!] [Malice by Chris Woodling – it has a 3D cover!] [Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff – because FINALLY and also dragons] [American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang – I blame Engie] [The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen – finally!! I have wanted this forever!!] [Uncanny Avengers: The Red Shadow – BECAUSE WHAT REASON DO I NEED BUT MARVEL?] [The Odyssey by Gareth Hinds – more blaming of Engie]
There are a lot of queenly books this week, which I’m hopelessly excited for. Although Queen of the Tearling is mammoth and that is frightening, but I WILL SURVIVE. (I am a survivor at heart.) Also: lots of graphic novels because I just discovered them and it’s quite an art form.
I was actually very controlled, I feel. Go me! GO ME! There were so many books I wanted to stuff into my mouth and take home but I resisted in true wiseness. I only have one ARC! Which means I might actually devour my copious TBR and be on top of things for 2014! (What, don’t look at me like that. Believe in me. It could happen.)
WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK?
MONDAY: How do you like your series finales? Blood and glory or happily ever after?
TUESDAY: I rave over Holly Black’s The Coldest Girl in Coldtown because – sarcastic vampires. Need I say more?
WEDNESDAY: 2014 was wickedly awesome for books. I list 10 or 73589 of them that I liked.
FRIDAY: I confess that Shiver The Whole Night Through hurt my braincells.
SATURDAY: It’s Christmas! Let us be Christmasy and eat pie and tinsel.
THESE BOOKS I ATE
Uncanny Avengers: Red Shadow: I can’t believe I only just thought to read comics JUST NOW. They are amazing! [4-stars]
Blue Lily Lily Blue: I wish to hug this book and then cry. That is all. [5-stars]
The Thickety: Woah, that was sufficiently dark and scary for a MG book. I liked it but was a bit bored. [3-stars]

Oh I don’t know….Paper Fury might not have been a wise name-change decision. All I do is type: Paper Fry. #tastyblogging

ELESWHERE ON THE INTERNET…
Did you know the BFG by Roald Dahl is becoming a movie?! Casting is happening! If you haven’t yet falling in love with The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater (shame on you, I can barely look at you) then Maggie herself will convert you. The Insurgent trailer hit the internet with a liiiiiittle bit of controversy. BUT I DON’T EVEN CARE BECAUSE I LOVE IT. Kody Keplinger’s book The Duff trailer has been released (it looks hilariously awesome) but it’s obviously a little less sex-orientated than the book. Kody talks about why they changed her book. Do you want to see the behind-the-scenes pictures of how the Starbound covers are made?! They literally throw humans into space and snap pictures! Ha…ha…maybe not. Emily @ The Loony Teen Writer has a hilarious interview with Gabrielle Tozer! Kelly @ Diva Booknerd highlights a few books that crashed and burned in 2014. Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight is hosting a discussion challenge for 2015! Allie @ Little Birdie Books rose marvellously to the occasion after I threw things at her until she did my tag. Amanda @ Of Spectacles And Books asks if the age of your blogging friends matters? Jess @ My Reading Dress asks if you read seasonally?
My little schnoodle, Atticus, is 2.5 months and we deduced it was time to scrub him. Here he is, regretting his life choice of love towards our family: He is a cheeky little monster. But, like the wise ones say, the cutest puppies are always the most devious. With the sharpest teeth. He looks awfully dejected in the third picture. But I do like his fluffy face.

Cait knows you’ll never guess what she’s been watching lately. (Hint: the gifs speak my secrets.) She’s rather hooked despite best attempts at just being a Mild Fangirl. Ha. Funny. Currently she’s waiting for YOU to decide what she reads next because decisions are too hard. She’s also eating mince pies because they are glorious.
