Notice anything different? HUZZAH FOR A NEW DESIGN! I took an impromptu hiatus this week (I know you all suffered dreadfully in my absence, but there, there, I’m back now. It’s going to be okay) because I was feeling slightly overwhelmed by all the things. And it seemed like a good time to get the new design going, with my thanks to my sister’s husband who does epic web design stuff because I am technologically inept. Isn’t it beautiful? IT IS BEAUTIFUL. And I totally admit to sitting here refreshing so I can see the arrow in the header shoot across the screen. #noshame
And before we plunge in to my monthly recap of all the furious things, I have some delicious news!
- I’M GONNA INTERVIEW DEREK LANDY!! HUZZAH! HUZZAH! Excuse me. I think I’m going to explode. There’ll be a giveaway and I think I’m going to cry with happiness.
- There’s only 2 more days left of my August Mini Book Necklace sale, where you buy one necklace and get a free pendant. So go buy 1 or 9 of them! I also make ANY book covers. Because I’m talented and flexible.
- I have a new blog button! Just scroll to the veeery end of my blog (in the footer) and you can snaggle it for your blogs and therefore brand yourself my minion. (My old button still works, too, though.)
- And I’ve updated all my pages! Like my about me page, my favourite blogs, and also all my bookish projects. (Don’t go to the bookshelf, that one is still a catastrophe.)
- I hit #1 Best Reviewer on Goodreads in Australia! CAKE FOR ME.
I haven’t done any book hauls or recaps since the end of July! SO! There’s a lot here! I AM EXCITED.
- A THOUSAND NIGHTS: Thank you Pan Macmillan! (Even the ARC cover is beautiful!) Sadly, I was disappointed. I’m a ginormous Persian folklore NERD so you can imagine I’m weeping at this. ★★
- INK AND BONE: Wow wow wow! IT’S AS GOOD AS EVERYONE PROMISES. And beautiful. I’m just stroking the cover. ★★★★
- THE ASK AND THE ANSWER & MONSTERS OF MEN (Chaos Walking #2 and #3): So I adore this series and scored these two at a library sale for $0.50 each! Except they…don’t match. And the hardcover is missing its dustjacket. AND I own the first book and it’s a completely different edition again. So let me cry. BUT FLAIL. But cry.
- QUEEN OF SHADOWS (Throne of Glass #4): AJFKLADSF THIS BOOK. OMG. THANK YOU BLOOMSBURY. Review will be up later this week although….erm, here’s some ominous news. I only gave it three stars. ★★★
- WINGER: I borrowed this specifically because Shelumiel keeps talking about it.
- UNWIND: Library sale find! SO MUCH WIN. I need to reread this and then finish the series! ★★★★★
- THE LAST LEAVES FALLING: Won from Rebecca!
- THIS BROKEN WONDROUS WORLD: Thank you Bloomsbury! I loved Man Made Boy (although I read that like 2 or 3 years ago?! This sequel took…a while.)
- MAGNUS CHASE AND THE SWORD OF SUMMER: THANK YOU PENGUIN AUS I LOVE YOU. I’m reading it right now and ohhhh it’s so HILARIOUS.
- THE RIVER AND THE BOOK & ATMOSPHERIC: Thank you Walker Books!
- EMMY AND OLIVER: So. dang. CUTE. New favourite contemporary! Thank you Simon & Schuster! ★★★★
- A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU: People talk. I get curious. I libraried it finally.

Even though I was blogglishly silent this week, I still instagramed. BECAUSE INSTAGRAM IS LIFE.

I read 30 books in August! Bit of a sad month since some books I was really excited for disappointed me, BUT! I ATE OTHER GOOD BOOKS. My TBR is (semi?) manageable. And life is mildly glorious.
- BEST BOOK? Oh! Oh! DEFINITELY A Storm of Swords!! It totally knocked the first two books off the planet in sheer awesomeness and plot twists and heartbreak. I AM SO HAPPY. I also gave 5-stars to my reread of Forever (obviously, it’s Maggie Stiefvater after all) and The Blood of Olympus!
- WISH I’D NEVER READ? UGH to The Looking Glass Wars. Worst. retelling. EVER.
- DID I LAUGH? I always laugh in Rick Riordan’s books! And busted up during Emmy & Oliver because the banter is just priceless.
- COVER LOVE? I will marry Ink & Bone at dawn.
- STATS? I had a seriously good month for 5-star ratings (four of them!!) and I actually read some non-fiction. I KNOW. What’s next?! Adulthood and small talk? Sheesh.

- “diverse sucks but sometimes diverse is way better” — you seriously can’t have it both ways. CHOOSE.
- “this is the most actiony sitting” — Sitting can be quite exciting and full of action, like if you’re sitting on a bomb or if you’re sitting on a throne. So yes! I agree!
- “heavy bookcase is screwed to the wall could fall forward control risk” — YES, SEE?!? THIS IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT! Bookworm safety! I’m glad someone believes me that this risk is real.
- “what does a cold hearted rebel do” — probably steals cake from babies and is rude to elders.
- “gargantuan blue dragon for sale by owner” — No I’m not selling my gargantuan blue dragon. It’s mine. Why would I sell it?! Seriously. Go get a buy fish or something.
- “converting someone into a fangirl” — I prefer the “duct tape” method, which is super simple and only involves taping victim to chair and forcing them to read/watch/listen to your current obsession for HOURS. It works! Truly! Death toll is only in the low percentages.

WHY AREN’T THE FOLLOWING THE BOOKS?!? STAHP

CAIT, I LOVE YOUR DESIGN! It’s gorgeous! And that arrow! *flails*
Just saw that you have my blog on your blog roll! OMG, I WON AT LIFE! *happy dances*
I am glad you’re back from your hiatus! Your sidekick missed you, a lot!:)
And I am looking forward to read your review of QoS! Whether I am going to read the book, or not, is going to depend on it!:)
OMG! DID I JUST LEAVE THE FIRST COMMENT! *FLAILS* FINALLY!
Omggg, it just makes me flail with excitement that this is even a coveted place. HAHA> XD YOU ARE THE BEST. <3 And of course you're on my blogroll! You have a FABULOUS blog!!
NEW DESIGN IS GORGEOUS OMG. So. Pretty. Can I just stare at it all day??? *stokes laptop screen* Anyway. Still devastated you gave Queen of Shadows three stars. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE AMAZING, AND OMG, WHAT IF I HATE IT!? I’ve definitely got some excitement/terror toward reading that one. 😉
YES YOU MAY STARE AT IT ALL DAY BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN DOING TOO. #noshame Agh, I really really want you to read QoS so I can compare thoughts. JUST READ IT, KARA.
THE ARROW. I LOVE IT. <3
Also, I'm so sad to hear Queen of Shadows was disappointing. 🙁 I just received the copies of Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire I ordered a few days ago and I'm SO EXCITED TO READ THEM but also a bit apprehensive now for Heir of Fire and the rest of the series. xD
Also also, the poll isn't showing up for me (only the vote button and just the titles written out). Thought you should know!
Also also also GLAD YOU'RE BACK.
Oh oh I hope you like them more than me then!! I LOVED Crown of Midnight though…it’s like one of my ALL TIME favourite books. If you like Heir of Fire, you’re going to like Queen of Shadows. 😉 AND YUS THAT POLL IS FIRED. It’s being so annoying. -_-
Oh yes!! I saw your new design yesterday and I. Am. In. Love. I read fewer books in August, thanks to school, but the Raven Boys was the best. And Love in the Time of Global Warming was terrible (my least favourite retelling ever at least). I missed you soooooo much! My inbox was empty without my little bundles of papery, furious happiness 🙂 (Though hopefully you’re all caught up now 🙂 Though one thing is- on the top of the tab the heading before it says paper fury is still your old blog button. Is there a way to fix that? Well I haven’t bought any books recently, because I don’t buy books, but the cover of All the Light We Cannot See is beautiful. And the writing is excellent (Though the length is terrifying, frankly) I’m also most of the way through The Rest of Us Just Live Here. It’s excellent too 🙂
The Raven Boys is like one of the BEST books in the entire universe. OH WAIT. I loved Lily Blue more but stillllll. Maggie Stiefvater can pretty much do no wrong. *happy sigh* I’ve heard terrible things about Love in Time of Global Warming, which is SUCH a sucky shame because that cover…omg so pretty. AHEM. Ah yes! I haven’t gotten to changing the tab thingy yet. BUT THAT WILL HAPPEN. *nods*
THIS IS VERY GORGEOUS. Although for some reason, I can’t vote to tell you what to read next, although that might be the embed code more than the design. But anyhow it is THE MOST GORGEOUS.
It’s interesting that I haven’t heard one positive review for A Thousand Nights, which is disappointing considering that premise. But Queen of Shadows? I’m now extremely curious what happened there. It may decide whether I read the series. DOESN’T BEING QUEEN FEEL LIKE A HEAVY RESPONSIBILITY NOW, CAIT?
Your search results are the best, and your commentary — just, WORDLESS.
AGH, that POLL. I think I’m going to punch that widget because it never seems to work consistently. But afjdslk thank you, I’m so glad you like the new look! 😀
And really!? All I hear is good things about A Thousand Nights and here I am napping about it’s boring-ness. -_- BAH. NO. I am a fabulous queen and I offer cake. There isn’t even any CAKE in Queen of Shadows. Like. Wat is this.
O M G THE NEW DESIGN. I’ve said it on twitter, too. It’s just gaaaaaaaw-jus! 😛
I also love this post. I love everything about it! <3 Welcome baack! I too am back from a hiatus, but it's been a bit longer than you 😛 Like, a year. Haha.
YAAAY THANK YOU! 😀 That just means so much, Brittany!! SQUEE. ahem. So yes, hiatuses are good though, right?! Get one nice and refreshed. hehe I probably wouldnt’ be able to quit blogging for a whole year. 5 days was a long time for me. xD
Absolutely LOVE your new design!! The arrow is adorable 🙂
30 BOOKS!?!?!?! You are definitely a reading wizard haha
YES I AM A READING WIZARD. *adjusts pointy hat* I accept that accusation.
Oh yes, I do like your new design. so pretty aaaaa I think the siren was originally self published, and now they’re actually publishing because the selection did so well? That or she’s rewriting it. Some of those safety googles though. That’s so funny (yes, be careful with heavy bookshelves) Nonfiction! Cait! What is this! (Though seriously, I’m interested in which nonfiction you read). Have nice day and I LOVE your new design 😀
OMG, REALLY!?!? I didn’t know that! That’s kind of awesome though…that her books are getting more of a chance. 😀 AND YUS LOOK AT ME ADULTING AND READING NON FICTION. The Look Me In the Eye is a memoir, so non-fiction!
I LOVE YOUR NEW DESIGN! And the arrow – lost track of how many times I’ve refreshed the page 😀 You received some lovely looking books! And how did you read thirty books this month!?! Do you read at 100 miles per hour? You read Clockwork Princess! I adore Cassandra Clare’s novels and NO NO NO why would the tv series deviate from the books???? The books are like gold dust. Or fairy dust. I bought Night Owls yesterday and can’t wait to read it! I never would have heard about it if it wasn’t for your amazing review so, thank yous, cake and chocolate for you 😉 And I’m pleased that you’re back! There was a Paper Fury shaped hole not just in my heart, but also in my Bloglovin’ feed. 🙂
YES I DEFINITELY READ AT 100 MILES AN HOUR. *nods* I am a rabid reader. Ahhh, I love all of Cassandra Clare’s books, ALTHOUGH I think Clockwork Princess was my least favourite of the trilogy, but BAH. I still love those books. And Night Owls is WONDERFUL. SO much witty banter. Also: lasagna. I mean what can go wrong?
*eats all the cake and chocolate* YOU ARE CLEARLY MY FAVOURITE NOW.
So much stuff going on!
I really love your new design, it’s gorgeous. Magus Chase – Holy crap that book.
You just read so much like you have read half the books that I have read this year, this month! haha
I am feelings so wired about Shadowhunters – the love the casting choices, the sets look awesome but I am so scared with what they are going to do.
Thanks for the post.
I do so love the Shadowhunters cast. Like, omg aren’t they perfect?!? And I’m soooo much more happy with this version of Alec and Magnus. Last time they looked like middle-aged dudes and IT FELT SO WONG. *fumes* SO YEAH. I just hope they mostly stick to the books?!? Please. *gets down on knees and begs the bookish universe*
First of all, I LOVE your new design and your new header!! It’s beautiful!!! And I really need to read Ink and Bone. I have heard SO MANY AMAZING THINGS!! And that cover is gorgeous!!
INK AND BONE IS SO WORTH IT. I think the beginning was a bit confusing/slow but ultimately!?! IT’S A BOOK ABOUT BOOKS HOW COULD IT EVER GO WRONG.
I love the new design and its elegance and simplicity! 😀 It’s so awesome that you’re interviewing Derek Landy. I really need to buy Demon Road as soon as possible. And there are so many things in your post I want to comment about, but my phone won’t LET me type that easily, and also, I’d sound a bit ADHD. Hope you had a lovely week! 🙂
Yes omg YES Demon Road is just stupendous, like one of my favourite books this year! 😀
I adore the new design! I am crazy for all kinds of special fonts and the your arrows are just so gorgeous 🙂
And I did miss your posts. Usually, when I go on my coffee break during work, your posts are live so i can read them. But nothing this week. It was unsettling lol. Glad to have you back 🙂
AHHHH YAY I AM SO GLAD!! I was so in love with that font and nearly thought I shouldn’t use it because it’s a bit hard to read, but BAH. Everyone knows what my name is and they can look at my URL if they’re struggling. XD hehe. I love awesome fonts and ARROWS. Awk, *pats shoulder* I’m back now and life can go on.
Love the new design!!! And woot on #1 reviewer – CAKE! You read so many books!! Gah – Glad you liked Emmy & Oliver!!
CAKE FOR EVERYONE!! *sprinkles the universe with cake crumbs* Emmy And Oliver was just the most adorable thing to ever fall into my hands. *hugs it*
1. LOOOOOOVE THE NEW DESIGN *stares at all the pretty*
2. *ping pong game in brain because she wants to ask questions about QoS but she knows she shouldn’t*
3. 30 books? *collapses*
*whispers* I read 2
*zips lips* I SHALT GIVE NO SPOILERS ABOUT QOS. Actually, haha, just kidding, I have a whole spoilers sections in my reviews to tempt people to click on. 😉 HEY 2 IS BETTER THAN 0 AM I RIGHT?!
I am in LOVE with your new blog design. As soon as you said that the arrow shot across the page when it loaded I started to refresh over and over and over again. I love it!
*whispers* I totally confess I keep refreshing it too. xD I guess I’ll get over the novelty soon but for now…IT’S SO COOL AND SHINY AND SHOOTY. *refreshes again*
Love the new design! Can’t wait to read Queen of Shadows!
YAAAAAY! AND THANK YOU! <3 I am so glad you like the new look. 😀
IT IS BEAUTIFUL CAIT! I absolutely love the new design. ALSO I AM SO JEALOUS. You already have Queen of Shadows AND Magnus Chase? Crying on the inside here…
It looks like you had an amazing month Cait, and congrats on the new, beautiful design!
YES I AM SERIOUSLY LUCKY. THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLISHERS ARE BEING SO NICE, ZOMG. *flails*
Oooh, I love this new design! It’s so pretty! 😀 Now it’s making me want to redesign my blog AGAIN. *slams head into keyboard*
I UNDERSTAND THE LURE. I try to only redo mine once a year, but omg, I do love a new blog look, right!? But I’m sooo super happy with this design, I think it’ll be staying a while *nods*
Gorgeous blog is gorgeous! Loving the arrow, Cait! 😀 And oh, I’m excited to read Ink and Bone because people are singing praises for that book. 🙂 I hope I get to it soon.
AHHH THANKS JULIE!! 😀 And Ink and Bone is WONDROUS. I’ve only seen one negative review and scores and scores of positives, eheh, so I think it’s a solid win!
I love the new blog design SO MUCH, CAIT! Like I said, it’s basically Katniss. Basically.
And OH MY GOSH, you’re going to interview Derek Landy?! THAT’S SO EXCITING BECAUSE HE’S SO AMAZING AND SDFGHJKL! ENJOY!
And squee, you’re so lucky you got Magnus Chase to review! Is it good?? Please tell me it’s good! My fangirl heart will break if it isn’t.
THANK YOU, KYRA!! I AM SO GLAD. It’s like Katniss and Peter Pan’s child or something. :’) All my papery furiness. AHHHH. AND YES OMG I AM SO NERVOUS ABOUT THIS INTERVIEW THO BECAUSE DEREK LANDY OMG. Thinking up the perfect questions took hoooours. And YES Magnus Chase was perfection. Funniest book EVER.
YES, I LOVE YOUR NEW DESIGN. OH MY GOODNESS IT’S PERFECT. And also I totally need to learn some web design 😀 Nice job having a brother-in-law who’s good at it. OH OH Ink and Bone is suchhhhh a beautiful book, I totally need it in my life 😉
AND DEREK LANDY, OH MY GOODNESS 😀 😀 😀
HA. I need to learn webdesign, but I always just go whingeing to my bro-in-law and have him fix my messes. xD It’s so haaard and doesn’t make SENSE. Gah.
MMM….I liked your old design better…I’m sorry :/ And 30 books? OMG. I thought I was a reading machine but you’re the one true reading machine! You should read A Thousand Pieces of You. I think you’ll like it 🙂 Also, I’m currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire and loving it 😀 Happy reading and gad you’re back!
Aw, sorry, Stefani! I hope you get used to this one in time, though. 🙁
YAY FOR A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE!!! I LOVE THAT SERIES SO MUCH! I just finished bk 4 and am onto bk 5!
i love love love your new blog design! low key im obsessed with the arrow that moves whenever you reload the page plus how the posts move and stuff 🙈 you’re so lucky you were given queen of shadows by bloomsbury so early! they’re giving me one but not till the release date sadly *sighs* anyway I completely agree with your review of queen of shadows on your goodreads. i’m not even that excited anymore…. i just finished reading magnus chase and oH MY GOD RICK RIORDAN BOOKS NEVER FAILS TO MAKE ME LAUGH. MAGNUS CHASE IS SO FUNNY AND SASSY. HE IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL. also cait, how in the world did you finish 30 books this august please teach me your ways. okay i love the mortal instruments and the fact that the shadowhunters tv show is not even going to follow the books makes me so anxious. i really hope they don’t ruin it.
p.s this is me saying we missed you when you were gone for a week. it wasn’t the same. please never disappear like that again.
YAAAAY I’M GLAD YOU LIKE IT!! 😀 I’m in love with the arrow myself. *refreshes page a million times* IT MOVES. OMG. I HAVE A BLOG THAT MOVES!! *flails* (Small things amuse small minds?!)
Sorry if I made you not so excited for QoS though!! WAH. I mean, I hope you do still read it and see, but YEAH. I’m not a happy moppet. ZOMG MAGNUS IS AMAZING RIGHT?!?!? I LOVED IT AND LAUGHED SO MUCH.
I read with both eyeballs — SEPARATELY. Two books at once. It’s the ultimate way. *nods*
And yes yes I’m surprised the internet even survived with out me and didn’t collapse in a crying heap because seriously THE WORLD IS NOT THE SAME WITHOUT ME.
I LOVE your new design. It’s awesomesauce!! And your blog search results always crack me up hahaha
ALSO, I’m usually wary of changes in book to movie/tv show adaptions BUT BUT BUT I’m actually not too worried about it here. From the interview, it sounds like they’re staying true to the books, and they probably need to make some changes to make it work. Mostly I know the plot so well already that I’d like it if I couldn’t predict absolutely everything about it, BUT THEN I also don’t want them to mess it up. I’m a bit torn if you can tell, but I’m choosing to see it in a positive light for the moment being! Either way, I CAN’T WAIT AND THEY NEED TO HURRY UP ALREADY.
AHHH I HOPE SO. I mean, I get that they need it to be different to the movie, as well, but STILL. I get super worried when shows just go entirely different directions. *glares at Game of Thrones* I’M DEFINITELY GOING TO BE WATCHING SHADOWHUNTERS NO MATTER WHAT, OF COURSE.
I haven’t read GoT (yet? IDK, I’m considering the audiobooks), and it might be better that way, because I’m sure if I’d read the books I’d have been like WHAT ARE YOU DOING TV SHOW, but now I just like it anyway haha. I think it also depends on the book? Like for example I think The Vampire Diaries is much better as a series than the book was (though I stopped watching at some point anyway) and I keep hearing the book The 100 isn’t very good, but the TV Show is THE BOMB. I’m sure I’ll be the first one to complain if they change TMI up too much though haha
The audio books are TOTALLY THE WAY. I wouldn’t be paying attention nearly enough if I’d read them with my puny eyeballs. Ugh The 100 book was AWFUL but everyone swears the show is great, but…I have trust issues because that book...ugh.
You got Magnus Chase!! OHMYGOODNESS! Is it good? I want it so badly.
Anyways love the new blog design!
Also I read your review for Blood of Olympus. It was definately not my favorite. I wish we would have gotten some percy or Annabeth POVs. Also I didn’t really like both Reyna and Nicos POV. I wish they would have just had one of them. I felt the book dragged a bit( just a tiny bit). And I felt Percy and Annabeth recovered way to quickly. But my huge disapointmeant was No Percy!! Or Annabeth( I know I already said this but I have to say it again!!).
That’s why I’m hoping Magnus CHASE might eventually get some percy or Annabeth( I know it probably won’t have it in the first book). Sorry for the ranty comment!
MAGNUS CHASE IS PERFECTION. XD I just reviewed it on Goodreads, and I’ll be reviewing it on the blog in October! But omg so so funny. It’s like one of the funniest Riordan books I’ve ever read. XD And yes, totally agree about BoO. I always miss when Percy and Annabeth don’t narrate. Wah. Nico = love. Renya = not so much. I don’t see why we had BOTH of them when their plot was the same, yet we didn’t get Percy OR Annabeth? But Annabeth has a brief cameo in the first Magnus book!! IT wAS FABULOUS.
*sniffles* CAIT, YOU’RE BACK. I had begun to worry your minions had turned on you and locked you in an iron castled thirty miles beneath the earth’s crust. (Translation: I really like your new blog design (especially the shooty arrow thingy, and I’m glad to see you blogging again, and I totally understand needing to take a break.) And you got the rest of the Chaos Walking trilogy! XD I’ve read The Ask and the Answer, but I’m still working on Monsters of Men. I really hope you like them. The sequel was sooooo good, and the beginning of the third book is adlkjjsf;ljaf. *dies* Also, I’m really excited for you to read A Thousand Pieces of You because I almost bought it the other day, but then I wasn’t sure whether it would be good or not. The cover and premise are interesting, but I don’t want to pay money on it and get burned.
That scissor gif, though. *shudders* And all your instagram photos are the best–you make the books look so delicious.
YUS SOMETIMES I JUST NEED TO FLOP LIKE A VERY TIRED LIMPET. Translation: sometimes I just wanna read for hours uninterrupted. HA. I am such a sad little thing. But not ashamed. Books are so tasty. I LOVE PATRICK NESS so I feel like I’m going to super love the next two books. I’m a LITTLE nervous about A thousand Pieces because isn’t it about time travel?! I haven’t read a book about time travel before AND I’M NERVOUS.
The new design is gorg! Especially the arrow! <3
YAY I AM SO GLAD!!
I LOVE THIS NEW LOOK. It’s so feminine and wow, I love it, it says a lot about you as a person I think, and it just looks and works fabulously. You can tell your brother-in-law works with websites and create functional spaces, I’m loving what this blog and space does! The little things like the other posts at the bottom so your bounce rate is good, and the spacing is great too!
If I could be so brash as to say, I think the font could do with being maybe a size or two bigger, and possibly a shade darker so it’s easier to read, but that’s just me, tell me shut my face and it’s cool, okay?!
I’m so sad that you didn’t like A Thousand Nights because it’s become one of my favourites of this year. Gah, I might have to read your review tentatively and nervously out of fear of just blasting my brain everywhere, okay?.. Personally, I think you should read Last Leaves Falling – I loved the book and liked how it explored illness we’re not always aware of. Oh, and it made me cry, so you know, you should read it for sure..
GREAT WEEK CAIT, SO GLAD YOU’RE BACK. I MISSED YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!<3
OMG REALLY!?!? *Dies of happiness* I’m so so glad! And yes I do have such fantastic relatives I think I’ll just keep them around. *nods* But AH THAT’S NOT TOO BRASH. I’ll look into it! I want it to be comfortable to read!
Agh, I’M SO SORRY! *wails* I feel like I’m a Thousand Nights minority hater, though!? So at least that’s good, right?!? Mostly everyone is raving on Goodreads.
OMG those Chaos Walking books are absolutely GORGEOUS. I mean, the spines are, so I can only imagine the rest of the book. *grabby hands*
Love the new design. It’s still familiar, but just enough of a spruce to be fresh. Great job!
Yes, omg, they totally are right?! And I don’t even mind that they don’t match, so much, because they’re still beautiful. :’)
aHHH THANK YOU! <3 I'm so glad you like it! And I didn't think it was too wildly different, right!? But more Fury for my Paper. XD
I love the new design! Especially the cool effect when you hover over the pictures on the home page.
YOU HAVE MAGNUS CHASE?!?!?!? I can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
AHHHH YAY I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT!! 😀 I’m monstrously pleased with how it all came together. AND YUS MAGNUS IS WONDERFUL. I reviewed it on Goodreads but probably won’t review it on the blog until October.
AHH. I LOVE THE DESIGN. SO MUCH GORGEOUS. Also, I am really glad that you are enjoying Magnus Chase so far. I am really, really looking forward to it being released! I have also heard so much about Ink and Bone. Super excited to read that one as well!
-Monica @ Tomes Project
YESSSS MAGNUS CHASE WAS PERFECTION. It was so. downright. hilarious. I mean, Rick Riordan’s books are always funny, but I was cackling out loud for this one!
I love the new design. It is simple and gorgeous all at once.
I would recommend A Thousand Pieces of You. It is a great read.
I recently acquired Code Name Verity from the library and am finally reading it. I have heard so many good things about it.
I’m glad you’re back and hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Amanda
OMG CODE NAME VERITY IS AMAZING. I felt it was a bit slow at the beginning?! But then, seriously, It tore out my heart and stomped on it and it is just so incredible. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT.
Oh my goodness! I love the new design!! It is so fresh and beautiful! Great job! 🙂 I am so sad that Queen of Shadows was not a higher rating. I cannot wait to hear your thoughts about it. I won’t get my copy until next Saturday. I am so disappointed that Mortal Instruments is not sticking to the books! Why?!? Do they just want to torture the readers?? I have been really looking forward to this series and this just broke my heart. So sad! 🙁
AWK!!! THANK YOU, THERESA! I AM SO PLEASED. *commences happy dance*
But yes, gah, I need be sentenced to the corner of shame for my disloyalty to the Throne of Glass series. Idek, it’s just not meshing with me anymore?! I AM SAD THOUGH. Agh, and yessss, why is Shadowhunters going to do this?!? WHY? I’m really worried about the show now. :O
YOU MUST FINISH UNWIND AND THE REST OF THE SERIES THIS INSTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then you can join me and my fabulous shusterman buddy as we rant about that series and Challenger Deep (I finally got a hold of that book and am reading it now) till the end of time. But seriously, EAT ALL THE SHUSTERMAN BOOKS!
I WILL!! I WILL!!! I PROMISE!!! I’m pretty sure Neal Shusterman can do no wrong. *hugs all his books* and Challenger Deep is AMAZING. DO YOU LIKE IT?!??! I was seriously confused at the beginning but then it just kind of melted into my soul and is one of my top books of this year. :’)
Your new layout/design/whatever the heck it’s called is gorgeous and I’m jealous. The green eyed monster also reared its head at the ARC of Magnus Chase. I might just need to fly to Australia to steal it from you. Because here, the bloggers are practically keeping it in basement vaults where I can’t easily steal it without some impressive Heist Society-style skills.
YAAAAY I’M GLAD YOU LIKE IT. Though, there there, *pats shoulder* Magnus Chase will be yours soon. See, if you were sensible and lived in Australia I could lend it to you bECAUSE I’M NICE. BUT YOU’RE NOT SENSIBLE, AINE. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.
number first: I might have wailed and yelled at you when I saw you changed your blog cuz I don’t like change but I DO LIKE THIS DESIGN. I think I’ll be able to get used to it very quickly compared to other blog changes I’ve experienced.
number second: the font color your used for the search results was kinda hard to read(it’s too light and blends in with the white background) and I had to type my screen back a little to even read them. Just so you know.
number third: I actually did wail and shriek with laughter over those search results. Especially the ‘actiony sitting’ one. Oh my word I think the search results in your Weekly Fury’s are my favorite part of your entire blog XD
number fourth: the arrow is actually rlly cool XD
OMG I’M GLAD YOU LIKE IT THOUGH, LISA. *pats shoulder* I know you don’t like change. Tbh, I mostly don’t like change either (dude I have the same breakfast every day of the week, every day of my life) but I do like to freshen things up around the blog occasionally. JUST COZ I HAVE TO LOOK AT IT ALL THE TIME AND I GET BORED. HAHA. Ahem.
awk, but thanks for pointing that out about the font colour. I wasn’t sure. So now..*nods* I am sure. XD Also I think looking at the search results is my favourite part of the whole month. XD
It sounds like you had a great month. I love the new design! I also refreshed to watch the arrow shoot across the screen. 🙂
*whispers* I refresh it FAR TOO MUCH. hehe. At least my pageviews are going to be healthy?! heehe
Love the new design with the arrows. Nice consistency. I think you should finish up a series for your next read.
Awk, thanks, Elizabeth! I’m sooo glad you like it! 😀 And yesss, I need to finish series, right?! Unwind is looking super tempting.
OHMYGOD Cait, I can’t even tell you how much I love your new design! You’ll probably hate me for saying this, but it’s so pretty and FEMININE and lovely and glorious. Urgh. Now I’m jealous of you.
Congrats on being Australia’s bestest reviewer (even though we totally already knew you were…!). Oh, and I’m so glad you liked Ink and Bone – it’s been on my TBR pile for weeks now, but I keep putting it off because I have a kind of ‘meh’ relationship with Rachel Cain. We’ll see…
Beth x
Why would I hate you for saying that?! I WILL NEVER REBUFF A COMPLIMENT. *struts around regally*
I hadn’t even HEARD of Rachel Caine before Ink and Bone. Doesn’t she do vampires?! Or something?! ANYWAY. I’m actually tempted to find more of her stuff. Her plot is SO DETAILED AND WOAH.
I will have you know that I LOVE your new design, and yes, the shooting arrow is very eye-catching. I wanted to say it reminded me of Robin Hood, but you know what? It doesn’t. It reminds me of Maid Marian, and maybe that’s because of the coloring or the fact that there’s a probably poisonous plant on the end, but no one ever said that Maid Marian couldn’t be awesome with a bow, too. So you have my applause.
The poll doesn’t seem to be working right now, but if it were, you should know that the only vote of my heart would be for you to finish the Unwind series. *nods* That is a must, and that is all.
DUDE YES. I will be a nefarious Maid Marion. It’s kiiiind of a Peter Pan thing for me because I AM OBSESSED WTIH PETER PAN. But either way, ARROWS! DANGER! FIGHTING! PRETTY WATER COLOURS! *happy sigh*
Agh, yes, that poll is so broke. I’m going to just delete that widget I think because it NEVER works properly. But eeep! I need to get onto those Unwind books ASAP!
Ooh, zentangle. My mom was just telling me about that the other day, and it sounds fun. It has the Cait stamp of approval? (Yes, I did immediately check our your new About Me page, and I quite like it.)
Hahaha, accurate definition of “Celaena.” I probably wont’ read your review of QoS until I decide if I’m going to bother with that monster of a book.
I’m not sure why “diverse sucks” would lead to your blog.
Oh, and your arrow design *might* be kind of perfect. Maybe. 😛
It DOES have the Cait seal of approval. Although it’s supposed to be all about “don’t use erasers!” and “relax while you’re drawing!” and there I am with an eraser making every line perfect so, erm. #fail BUT STILL it’s a lot of fun!
And that is very fair *nods* I don’t usually read reviews of books I’m going to read. IT’s WEIRD RIGHT?! I only read reviews for books I might want to read and need to decide still.
AND YES MY ARROW IS PERFECT. PERFECT LIKE ME. :’)
Haha, I would probably erase, too. Being a perfectionist is hard work!
I sometimes read reviews of books I know I want to read, but only if it’s way before I’m going to read it.
‘Tis perfectly true. ;D
Your new design is GORGEOUS!!!! And you read 30 books???!!!! HOW DO YOU READ SO MUCH, CAIT!
I DON’T EVEN KNOW. I JUST EAT BOOKS LIKE I EAT AIR.
Love the new design! It looks so clean and fresh. Not that the old one wasn’t great, too… but it’s nice to change things up once in a while, isn’t it?
The search results are hilarious. How do you find out what people are searching for?
Yes yes I agree! CHANGING THEMES IS FUN! 😀 And I’d had the old one for like 9 months or something so, yup, needed a refresher. I just search in my stats to find the search results! You can do it in blogger too, I believe. Just nose around in the stats section. *nods*
IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! You are one lucky person to have someone code all your designs for you, and for free I’m assuming right?? (because family).
I’m hoping my Queen of Shadows delivers soon tooo! Though I haven’t even finished the sequels in the series woops.
YES I AM A LUCKY PERSON. For free basically. xD I bought graphics and things and then babysit in return, and you gotta reward the babysitters, amirite? *nods* AHHH I HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH QUEEN OF SHADOWS THEN I DID!!
I looove the new design! That arrow in the header is so gorgeous! So glad that you loved The Blood of Olympus because I love that book so much and I’m always happy that my blogging friends love the books I do 😀
YAAAAY *Blood of Olympus HI FIVE* It was my favourite of that series, tbh, (closely tied with Mark of Athena though) and probably my favourite Riordan book EVER. heh. But seriously he can do no wrong. :’)
Welcome back! I like the new design. 🙂
It looks like you got a lot read while you were away – always a good thing – and got your hands on some great new books!
Winger is easily one of my favorite contemporaries. You should definitely read it first and then follow it up with A Thousand Pieces of You!
Squeee!! I’M SO GLAD, THANKS, LAUREN! 😀 And yes, omg, yes, I just descended upon the TBR. Unfortunately it grew again while I wasn’t looking. >_> But, bah! Better too many books than too few, right!?
Ahhhh! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! 🙂
YAAAAY I’M SO GLAD!!!
YES, I DO LIKE THE ARROWS. Finish the Unwind series! I also have to finish that too – the only book left for me is the last one. And god, yes! The cover for Ink and Bone asajdalkfjdlkjgalkjdgla So pretty!
You’re doing better in the Unwind world then me then. I AM AN UNWIND FAILURE. WAH. I actually didn’t even realise it was a series until the other day. *facepalm* INK AND BONE IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL RIGHT?! I’M JUST GONNA STROKE THE COVER FOREVER.
I have Ink and Bone in my TBR list and now I am scratching to read it sooner!! Eek.
Also, I love the new design! I’m always a fan of change. I love keeping things fresh. I know a lot of people are scared of change, but not me. Nope. :]
YESSSS PLEASE DO!! I must have people to talk about it with! 😀 Although I did get super confused at the beginning and so need someone to explain it to me. Eh, I hopefully will review it at some point too.
SQUEE I’M GLAD YOU LIKE THE NEW LOOK! 😀 I’m mostly scared of change, but not when it comes to my blog. x) I like to keep things interesting.
Congratulations on all the things!! I’ve been a little silent in the blogosphere lately with school starting, but I still missed seeing your posts last week.
I LOVE YOUR NEW DESIGN. But the arrow doesn’t shoot when it loads for me! Also, it wouldn’t let me take your poll. (I would have voted for Unwind series, though.)
AWK. THIS IS SADNESS. It’s still working for me, so maybe it depends on internet connection or something. *sad facE* AGH, that poll though, it’s totally broken. I think I’m going to toss the widget out. It like only works 9% of the time. -_-
YAY!!!! Oh WOW!!! Your new design is AMAZING!!! Like, seriously, AAAAAAAAAHHHHH-MAZING! I am in awe. I love the arrow and how it shoots in when the page loads. *clicks refresh 1,000,000,000 times* And I am a big fan of the awesome new blog button!!! 🙂
Awwww!!! Thank you for linking to my blog, twice! :’) I feel super happy and am so happy you liked the posts. While I may not be posting a large amount of posts, at least you like the few I do post 😉
YAY!!! I am sorry, but I am glad you didn’t love A Thousand Nights. I thought maybe it was just me. I just didn’t get it at all, not much really happened. Yes, the writing was beautiful, but I wanted a story and there was barely any. And there wasn’t a romance. I don’t get how it was a romance. He was a demon man!!! >.< Gahhh! And I don't get why the characters couldn't have names.
30 BOOKS IN ONE MONTH!!!! =O I am impressed and a little envious. Wish I could do that. I'd have to quit my job though. And stay away from Netflix.
WOOP!!! Love the design and YES… I MISSED YOU WHILST YOU WERE GONE!!!
YAAAY I AM SO SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT! 😀 And *whispers* I may or may not have refreshed it obsessively at first too and then forced my family to watch while I refreshed obsessively. I’M CLASSY.
Ahhh, I just can’t believe you did that ToG recap even though it took so long! IT MUST’VE BEEN SO TEDIOUS! :O Ahhh! you lifesaver. And omg, THANK GOODNESS you didnt like A Thousand Nights. Everyone is raving about it on Goodreads while I’m sitting there going “Wut even is this”. It wasn’t even…interesting?! Like she didn’t even DO anything?! And where were the stories which is the whole POINT of that tale?! *huffs*
I was wondering about the absence, since I totally forgot you’d mentioned wanting to redesign your blog. It’s gorgeous! It was gorgeous before and it’s gorgeous-er in a whole new way now! ^_^
But mah word, girl. Thirty books? That’s like a book a DAY. O.O I’m happy to finish five this month…
YES THE WORLD IS A SAD LONELY PLACE WITHOUT ME ONLINE. *nods at this truth* hey, but I read fast and I’m crazy, heehe. EEP. I’m so glad you like the design!!
Ah, such a wonderful design Cait! I’m in shock, I think I actually want to stroke my laptop screen cos damn the site looks BEAUTIFUL. Also, wow oh wow you’re going to interview Derek Landy? *screams* Freakin’ hell, I can’t wait. I’ve only read half of Skulduggery and I’m already hooked.
Also, wow those are a lot of gorgeous books you’ve got. SO EXCITED FOR THOUGHTS ON THE CHAOS WALKING SERIES. That series is my whole life. Which reminds me…I need to buy it.
Can’t wait for more goodies. I was hoping you’d spam my feed with posts considering how on-and-off I’ve been this summer but AM EXCITED FOR ALL FUTURE POSTS. Especially if they all look as dazzling as this one does. 😛
AFJDKLSAD I’M JUST FANGIRLING INCONSOLABLY RIGHT NOW. IT TOOK ME HOOOOURS TO THINK UP QUESTIONS. And even now I’m like “omg, did I ask good questions? where they dumb questions? am i an idiot. omgomgomg” because, you know, DEREK LANDY. *fangirls*
Ahem.
I’m kind of pleased with the Chaos books even though *gasp* THEY DON’T MATCH. Because I got them all at different library sales for less #1 each. So, not complaining. 😉
I DID miss you, but you’re new design is fantastic. I really like your update post – so many lovely books and photos. I am desperate to read Ink and Bone, so yay for loving it so much.
-Lauren
AWW, I AM SO PLEASED, LAUREN. *sprinkles cake in your hair* I hope you get a chance to try Ink and Bone! I was nervous because I got confused in the beginning…but OMG IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL AND WORTH IT.
OMG THE ARROW SHOOTS ACROSS THE SCREEN! I thought my eyes were deceiving me, so I clicked “Home” about 10 times just to watch it slide across the screen. How is that even possible? Magic? Yes, definitely magic.
YESSS IT’S MAGIC. I AM A CREATURE OF MAGIC YOU SEE.
You just made me reload the page a few times there, really cool design!
*whispers* I have been reloading it copiously too. I CAN’T HELP IT. XD
First of all, HOW THE HELL DID YOU READ SO MANY BOOKS????
Second of all, HOW ARE YOU GET A COPY OF QUEEN OF SHADOWS
Third of all, I’m sorry you only gave QoS three stars 🙁
Fourth of all, YOUR NEW BLOGGY DESIGN THINGY IS BEAUTIFUL
Fifth of all, I keep rubbing my computer screen because I keep thinking that line in the background is a hair stuck to my screen BUT OTHERWISE BEAUTIFUL!
I READ THEM WITH MY TWO EYES. IT’S THE FASTEST METHOD, TBH. Aaaand, I’m super lucky sometimes, because the Australian publishers are just SO NICE and give us delicious things. *eats all the books* HAHA, yes, I don’t know about that line. I think it’s attached to the template?!? It is a bit odd >_>
I am so happy you loved Ink & Bone. I thought it was set in a furtireworld stuck in the past due the Library squashing inventors. But they let some technology through like the blanks. I was thinking they were like iPad minis.
I think Glain will be important in future books.
I was super excited this one lived up,to the hype!
The worldbuilding was a litttttle confusing for me. >_< BUT I GOT THE HANG OF IT IN THE END! And yes! I figured they must've kind of been like iPads, right?! I wish that'd been explained a bit more. It was like -- BOOM MAGIC! -- but no explanation?
Your desiiiign. It’s so gorgeous!!! I am in love. I kind of have this weird obsession with bows and arrows and things like that, so when I saw your new design I was just like, O____O YESSSH.
And of course it was horrible while you were gone. What ARE we supposed to do without our Overlord for a few days? I felt so lost!
HUGE congratulations on getting best reviewer on GoodReads! Oh my goodness, that’s so exciting. You deserved it, girl!
So you didn’t like The Looking Glass Wars? I wasn’t wild about it myself. I kind of enjoyed it, but come on, it looked like this epic Wonderland retelling. It should have been AMAZING but it…wasn’t. The characters were flat, the writing felt kind of blah and amateur-ish, and, I don’t know, it just wasn’t as amazing as I was expecting. It was a cool world and had potential but fell rather flat. So disappointing.
So glad you’re back! ^_^
YAAAY I’M GLAD YOU LIKE IT!! 😀 It’s like Peter Pan meets Katniss or something. *strokes blog* I’m really happy (plus it incorporates my scary fury side with my squishy happy side in the watercolours ahhhhhh, *ahem*)
YES I KNOW IT WOULD’VE BEEN HARD. I’m surprised the world is still spinning, tbh. I thought even the SUN wouldn’t have risen without me.
Eh, yes, >_< I was very very hard on The Looking Glass Wars, sadly! I think, partially, I didn't like the style? And partially because Alice in Wonderland is like my FAVOURITE classic and I can't stand to have it not told well.
I definitely love the header design. It’s so Cait! all those arrows and watercolory goodness is pretty awesome! FINISH CHAOS WALKING!
I WILL!! *salutes* I have so much love for Patrick Ness and now that I own them all I have zero excuse, right?!?
I love the new look. I changed your button on my side bar already.; I am a wonderful minion, do I get cake? Ink and Bone, yes, I do dearly want to read this and am hoping it goes on ebook special at some point. I wish Amazon had an “on sale” notification thingy for our book wishlists. I traded The Knife of Never Letting Go for a hardcover of The Dream Thieves, so I don’t think I will be sorry. I have not read any Ness yet, but I have A Monster Calls. Sorry I didn’t get here sooner, but I was licking my Twitter wounds. If you see La La Toadstone favoriting your tweets.it is me hiding out in my personal account..
AWK YOU TRULY ARE THE BEST MINION EVER, LINDA. ALL THE CAKE FOR YOU. AAAAALL THE CAKE. And omg that would be wonderful if Amazon did that. o.O Although also terrible because I feel like I would spend a lot on ebooks, hehe. But it’s so hard to resist a book for like $1 or $2, right?!
Aw, did something bad happen on Twitter?! I noticed you were on a different profile.
Love the new theme! As soon as you mentioned the arrow thing, I went and refreshed, and OMG THAT IS SO COOL. Your brother in law is awesome. o.O Glad you had a great week!
YAY!! I’m glad you like it too and omg I’m so happy how it turned out! 😀
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT to #1 in Australia! Next step, the UNIVERSE. I love seeing your reviews on Goodreads, I always find myself just nodding along going, “Yes, CAIT GETS IT!” So keep on keeping on. 😛
This has me cracking up: “this is the most actiony sitting” — ha where did that even come from?
Any my most recent cover-lust driven purchase was The Wrath & The Dawn. Just got that baby in the mail today, and ahhhh love it.
YUSSSSS *prepares to take the universe by storm*
I seriously wish I knew which posts those super weird searches got. I MEAN SITTING?!?! ACTIONY SITTING?!? What does that even mean.
Oh! OH! I hope you love TW&TD! It’s totally one of my top favourite reads this year. *falls hopelessly in love with it*
OH MY GOD YOUR DESIGN IS KILLING ME! It is SO GORGEOUS! I CAN’T TURN CAPS LOCK OFF I’M TOO EXCITED. Okay, I’m calm. Well, as calm as a fangirl can be at any one time. Read A Thousand Pieces of You next! Funny story: last year, I won a giveaway from Epic Reads on Twitter for a copy of that book, and I sent my address and everything. It has been a year, still no book. Ah, well, I tried. I still haven’t read it, oops. I am currently reading Blue Lily, Lily Blue and Maggie Stiefvater is just amazing. I want to be her. Or I want to be you, since your blog design is THE BOMB, Cait! ;D
THEN MY WORK HERE IS DONE. I’M LURING ALL MY MINIONS IN WITH BEAUTIFUL DESIGNS AND THEN TAKING OVER THE WORLD WHILE THEY’RE NOT LOOKING. #fullproofplan
Agh, I’ve won SO MANY giveaways and had them never show up. Grrrr. Although sometimes when you chase they’ll resend? I won something from HarperCollins and it never came, so I poked and they sent me it and I finally got it!
OMG BLUE LILY IS MY FAVOURITE RAVEN BOYS BOOK. I love Blue.
Brother-in-law-and-web-designer strikes again! This new design is absolutely gorgeous Cait – I love it so, so much! Everything from the color scheme to the fonts to the arrow at the top is absolutely perfect. 😍😍 And I am so glad you are back – the world has been a deep and sad place without you the past few days.
And I’m so jealous you got Mangus Chase early! On one hand I am so excited to read it because MORE RICK RIORDAN, but on the other hand I’m scared because I think I’ll have a hard time really admitting that Percy and Annabeth’s story is done. *cries tears because the realization is just too strong*
Can’t wait to see what more you have up your sleeve my twin! 😘
He’s handy, right?! BUT THEN I’M AN EXCELLENT BABYSITTER AND SHOULD BE THANKED FOR MY TALENTS. *nods* Although my nephew is confusing Daredevil with Ultron, so clearly my superhero lessons are failing a bit. *frowns*
AH BUT ANNABETH MAKES A CAMEO IN MAGNUS CHASE!! 😀 So you have that to look forward to. And really? It’s hilarious. Like downright. so. darn. hilarious.
Welcome back! Although one week is barely away from the blog in my eyes 😉 The new layout is STUNNING! Your brother-in-law is so smart, although I admit I missed the arrow flying so now I’ll have to refresh to see it. 😀 I can’t believe you read 30 books this month. You’re INSANE Cait, INSANE! I think I read like…3. 🙁 Regardless, I hope you enjoy all your new books and have a fab month lovely! xx
YEAH I KNOW. haha! But c’mon, when you blog every day for nearly the entire yeeeear, 5 days away is big. 😉 I JUST HAVE A LOT OF TIME AND MOTIVATION TO READ. 😀
SO MUCH GORGEOUS. I voted for finishing Chaos Walking, but that was only because I was distracted to the shiny books. Unwind would also be a good choice, but shiny books won in the end. Also, I am chuckling at the search results. These people must be very confused when they show up and there’s no dragons for sale. I also chuckle when 30 books is a bad month. (I am going to pretend that you said nothing about Queen of Shadows, and will live in blissful ignorance even though the spoilers all over Twitter have tarnished my eyes forever.)
I am a blog of DISAPPOINTMENT TO BE HONEST. No dragons for sale. 🙁 Oh oh! I didn’t mean reading 30 was the bad part, I meant I didn’t read a lot of really GOOD books. XD Hehe, I probably didn’t word that very well. 😛 I feel like 30 is an excellent month. I MEAN, I AM ON FIIIIIIRE, DUDES. FIRE!
oh spoilers on twitter?! D: That’s awful! People can be so…argh. So selfish I guess?
Like fifty people have said this already so I’ll probably just add to your crowd of admirers…BUT THAT DESIGN IS GORGEOUS.
The duct-tape method is entirely fool-proof *nods* I must use it on someone, someday. OHMYGOSH 30 BOOKS IN AUGUST?! I read like, three. *sobs and curses school for everything* I need to steal your epic book devouring skills…because that is insane 😛
But they are all SO NICE AND RIGHT. IT IS GORGEOUS. *falls in love with blog* (See I can say it, because I didn’t technically make it myself, hehe…I mean I did the header but C’MON THAT WAS JUST A FONT AND AN ARROW. So yeah. I have talented relatives. XD) And yes! DO use the duct-tape method. Sometimes you have to lure the victim in with cake or some favourite snack, though, so be prepared when you go hunting!
WHAT ???? You have read 30 books in August??? And you write all reviews ???
What are you? A fae? Do you breath and eat … or even sleep ?? I am overwhelmed…
Speechless
Kati@ZeitzuLesen
I DO NOT SLEEP OR EAT AND WHAT EVEN IS BREATHING, PFFT. WHO NEEDS IT. hehe But no, really! I’m just a fast reader. 😀
Congratulations on 30 books I wish I read so fast. Love the new blog design. Happy Reading.
Megan @ http://readingawaythedays.blogspot.co.uk
YAY THANK YOU! I’m so so excited about the new look. 😀 I JUST WANNA STARE AT IT FOREVER. hehe
Seriously in awe of your design Cait! It’s beautiful and your brother-in-law did a fantastic job. Wish I was half as talented as he is. The arrows are perfect and the shooting across the screen is just marvelous. I seriously could go on and on about how freaking wonderful your design is, but I’ll stop. You’ve probably heard it enough. I think it fits you perfectly & your blog is just PERFECT <3
I know right?! I’m related to FABULOUS people. (Very handy too, because free design in return for babysitting. hehe.)
It’s so bootiful, like epically lovely in all it’s loveliness and it moves! How does it move? It’s magic I tell you, MAGIC!
30 books in one month, how do you take it all in? I used to read a lot faster than I do now, often a book per day (or night) as well, and I found that as soon as I’d finished, I could barely remember what it was about. I just missed out on so many of those little details by reading so quickly, so now I take my time. I don’t know how you do it, obviously some sort of witchcraft at work here. Or you’re an ink licker (see what I did there? I really disliked that book sadly). But you must drop everything at once and read A Thousand Pieces of You. Two words…
Lieutenant Markov.
You’ll thank me later.
IT IS MAGIC BECAUSE I AM MAGIC.
Ah, yes, sometimes I find books just blur for me. Mostly the mediocre ones though? So like if I enjoyed the book it’ll stick! And I probably read too fast to get ALL the little details, but eh, I HAVE FUN. So that’s what’s important. XD Clones tho. CLONES. Not ink licking. Though that has a fabulous ring to it, tbh….
OKAY. I’M MILDLY WORRIED, BUT ALSO EXCITED NOW. Lieutenant Markov…*trots off to devour ATPOY*
THE NEW DESIGN IS SO BEAUTIFUL.
Also, FINISH THE UNWIND SERIES. That last book . . . that was . . . . interesting. As in clearly-taking-a-total-nosedive-and-then-turning-out-to-be-absolutely-amazing interesting,
SQUEEEE. THANK YOU, ELLIE. Okay, woah, I shall be aware of that when I get to the end of Unwind. xD I love the first one so so much, so hopefully the series stays awesome for me. (Though, tbh, I don’t even REMEMBER the first book it’s been so long since I read it. >_< )
Oh my gosh, I LOVE the new design!
(Though there is the slight problem where my internet is quite slow at the moment, and so I’m yet to see this shooting arrow that everyone keeps talking about).
And how great is Magnus Chase?? I LOVE Rick Riordan….everything he writes is just so hilarious!
YAAAY I AM SO GLAD! 😀 It turned out exactly like I wanted it to, so that’s excitement. *flails*
Magnus Chase tho. <3 IT IS SO HILARIOUS. I mean, the Heroes of Olympus were funny too, but Magnus has been the FUNNIEST so far. Those chapter titles, too. XD I DIE LAUGHING.
Oh Cait, your new design is really lovely. I have a thing for watercolours, so you’ve won my heart over with that alone. AND NICE SHOOTING ARROW. It’s really nice. Did you draw the header and everything yourself?
I have no idea how you continue to get such random, peculiar search results. I mean, I think I’ve had one or two in my time, but you seem to be the queen of more than just the flail and overlord or more than just the pineapples, Cait. Seriously- people find your blog by searching those things? I don’t know how, exactly, I should respond to that. I don’t know if any of us do.
QUEEN OF SHADOWS. I’m reading it now. I don’t think it can be spoken of in anything but allcaps.
x
Ah, no not this time! XD I just bought some graphics off etsy because my drawing has really been neglected this year. MAYBE NEXT TIME?!? hehe
BUt yes, omg! I have no idea how people stumble across my blog with those zanily weird ways. It’s probably because I blog so randomly?! I get SO MANY HITS FOR FAN FICTION THO. I don’t write fanfic! I don’t even think I’ve ever blogged about it?! Yet people still keep coming. XD I must’ve mentioned it somewhere once…
How are you liking Queen of Shadows!??!
Celaena/Aelin is the baddest of the asses. She is epic! She gives children the option of reading or pie! I love her. Chaol, though. *grumpy eyes* Why does not everyone forgive her like I do?!
I’m just going to sit here and be incredibly in awe (and a little jealous!) of your site! It’s beautiful. (And I’m not just saying that! It truly is. I have zero design/web skills at all so I’m always a bit drooly over other sites, but I think that arrow has to be one of the best things I’ve ever seen.)
You need to finish the Chaos Walking trilogy so you can post your review of it! I got through the first book and then got sidetracked by the rest of my TBR pile, and somehow I haven’t gone back. I think I’m a little afraid that the second and third book won’t be as good as the first. That’s been my issue with other YA trilogies (cough *Divergent* cough) and it makes me a little leery!
Awww, thanks, Martha! 😀 I’M SO GLAD YOU LIKE IT, HONEST, I’M JUST FLAILING WITH GLEE NOW. Hehe, I have zlich design skills too. I have to beg smarter people to do it all for me.
AGH SAME WITH ME FOR CHAOS WALKING. I loved the first book, but somehow I just never got around to digging the 2nd from the library and now I own it! *dances* NO excuses for me!
Cait! Way behind on your blog, darling. Wow, are you a daily blogger?
Response To Comment On My Blog:
Wow, you visited my blog unprompted. 😀 I was born in New York City, and raised around the culture of my family members who immigrated into America a little bit before I was born. With all the crime in America, the culture I was raised in keeps me grounded, and makes me feel at home more than the “American” culture, although I don’t really consider there to be one. Most of my family still lives in Jamaica, but a small group of us live in NYC. Thanks for what you said about beta-ing, and you can always ask me questions! I love asking them and answering them as you’ll see, soon. Thanks for what you said about preparing all my posts! I HAAAVE. I try to be as organized with the blog as I can, and I’ve been working ahead since about July to keep me ahead of the game for when school resumes. I love and crave productivity when I’m at my best, and I don’t want to have to stop blogging or take a hiatus so early because of school. Better to just have it all prepared for the first month so that I can work on October at my leisure, and not feel any extra pressure. You’re lovely! Thanks for stopping by!
Today’s Comment: Brother in law? That’s amazing!!! I will admit I first was like, “AREN’T YOU 15?? HOW ARE YOU MARRIED?” Then remembered you’re a young adult, LOLLLLL. I love the design, Cait! It’s brilliant! And so YAAAA because THG? I’ve recently pre-ordered QoS soo pretty. But it hasn’t arrived yet. *strokes* I missed you, Cait! I kept checking my business email for your responses to my comments because I love this little dialogue we have. I look forward to it. Even with school coming, I’ll try not to fall behind on your blog, or I’ll definitely have a day in the week when I just comment little emails on three (or more) of your posts at once 😉
NEARLY. I take, like, Thursdays off…hehe,
HEY I FOLLOW YOUR BLOG. I think?? GAH. I don’t even know. I mostly reply to comments and visit that way so I make sure I get to everyone but I sometimes forget. D: IT IS SHAMEFUL I KNOW. *ahem* ANYWAY. OKAY SO THAT’S COOL ABOUT JAMAICA THEN! 😀 I always see tons of crimey stuff on the news and web and it does sound kinda scary. I mean, Australia has tons of crime, but at least no guns. *gulps*
HAHA, omg I’m not married! *runs away screaming* My oldest sister is married and it’s her husband. 😉 Omg, now I’m wondering if the right word for him is brother-in-law. o.O Maybe it’s not. ANYWAY. AND YEAH I’M 21 BUT I THINK MAYBE I’M STUCK MENTALLY AS 16 OR SOMETHING.
AWW YOU ARE SO SWEET. I LOVE YOUR COMMENTS AND OUR CHATS <3
Cait I LOVE your new design!! It’s so fantastic I just want to stare at it all day *stares at laptop screen lovingly* And I’m so glad you liked Emmy and Oliver! I totally agree, the story was simply adorable and the banter glorious. I now feel like an accomplished minion, and will therefore reward myself with cake *nods*
AHHH THANK YOU. *dances in glee* Zomg, Emmy and Oliver just totally melted me and I wanted to bookmark ALL the epic dialogue to quote it later, but, omg, that’s only like 94% of the book. I’m in awe. I CAN’T WAIT TO REVIEW IT! 😀
Now I feel bad for recommending The Looking Glass Wars… and my questionable taste in books… I just really like Hatter Madigan, ‘kay?
AHHH DON’T FEEL BAD!! I’m completely a grumpy picky reader. XD I love the name Hatter Madigan, it’s a clever twist. 😀
I like the new design. ^ ^ The arrows are indeed cool. And lol about selling your dragon. That made me smile. XD

The new design is gorgeous. Wow that is a lot of books, you really make me want to step up my game book wise.
Thanks for including my blog, you are so sweet.
LOVE the new look!! Now don’t go all crazy with that adulthood and small talk. 🙂
Yaaay! I’m SO glad!! 😀 But, egh, yes, I shall refrain from all this adulting. *dissolves into colouring-in books and crayons*
WHERE WAS I AND WHY DIDN’T I NOTICE THIS SOONER???
THIS IS AMAZING. I AM SOOOO JEALOUS. Your brother in law doesn’t happen to teach classes on how to make amazing blogs like this one, does he?
AND THAT ARROW.
I’m going to leave now and go pity my blog because yours looks just soooo much better. 😉
YAY I AM GLAD YOU LIKE IT. Zomg, he has serious skills I knooooow. I AM LUCKY. hehe
I positively adore your intriguing search results!!
Have you seen Pitch Perfect. There’s a whole gag about horizontal running that your active sitting reminded me of 🙂
