Many glorious things have been happening lately. MANY. And while I usually do these recap books only at the end of the month…bah. I make rules purely so I can break them (ergo I get to feel nefarious and daring). Also I ate the library so I need to discuss that with you. And…I recently hit 1.5K bloglovin’ followers, which means — GIVEAWAY TIME!! HUZZAH!
And thank you THANK YOU to everyone’s nice warm and fuzzy comments on my How To Be Nice To Book Bloggers post. You humans are utterly fantastic and I’m so glad I get to squawk about books with you.
OH. And before we rush on. I just have 3 very important things to tell you:
- You need to drop everything and Blood Red Road. IT IS AMAZING. It has siblings and cage fights and sass. Why are you still here? WHY HAVE YOU NOT GONE TO READ IT YET!? I’m kidding. Totally wait and read the rest of my post because it, as am I, is marvellous.
- NaNoWriMo plotting is DONE. HUZZAH. I’m writing a dragon book but I’ll tell you aaaall about it this week. (Also can I write 50K in 5 days? Can I? Should I? STAHP, CAIT.)
- Also you know how I’ve had such a horrible time with reading and rated everything low and life was blah? SPELL IS BROKEN! I’ve had incredible read after incredible read and it’s so exciting! LIFE IS GOOD, MY PINEAPPLE FIENDS. Let me cackle deviously to myself.
- FANS OF THE IMPOSSIBLE LIFE: This book is everything. Thank you Charnell! YOU ARE THE SWEETEST. ★★★★
- THE DEMON KING: I’m absolutely loving this. I hesitated about buying it because…well…fantasy can be so hit or miss. BUT SO FAR IT’S GLORIOUS. I’m 50% through as we speak. (Trust everything Maraia recommends, that is the lesson here.) It’s about wizards and thieves!
- THE RAVEN BOYS: Can you believe I rave about Maggie Stiefvater 90% of my blogging time but DO NOT OWN ALL HER BOOKS?!? I’m slowly fixing this. ★★★★★
- LEGACY OF KINGS: I so loved this one! Except, well, I do wish it hadn’t tried quite so hard to be the YA Game of Thrones. But I still loved the Alexander the Great thing going on! ★★★★
Usually I’m very firm with myself and I’m ONLY allowed 2 library books per week. So I can focus on ARCs and books I’ve bought/won. But, but humans, it’s been so loooooong since I had a delicious hefty stack. SO I BROKE. #noregrets Although, to be honest, it’s not even that big. I’ve had 13 out before…
- SEA OF SHADOWS: I’m so excited for this because fantasy. That is all. FANTASY.
- MY BROTHER SIMPLE: This was so, so sweet and about a teen boy caring for his mentally disabled brother. It’s also translated from French. Which is cool. But those secondary characters were argh. ★★★
- YOU ARE THE KIND OF GIRL I WROTE SONGS ABOUT: I borrowed this because Kelly said so.
- MAYBE SOMEDAY: Oh I am nervous. It’s NA and usually NA and me don’t get along. But I see this everywhere and I’m curious! Also I think I heard there’s a deaf character in there? (Because writing research.)
- MY LIFE NEXT DOOR: I’m going to buddy-read this with Mishma! Also I have actually 2% of a clue what it’s about but I see everyone reading it and I need it. What can I say?
I’m pretty sure my Instagram addiction is here to stay…FOREVER. Here’s what I’ve been photographing lately:
- Rick Riordan is starting a new series set in Camp Half Blood! CAN I HEAR A “HECK YES AND HALLELUJAH”!? Ahem. It’s called the Trials of Apollo. I need it.
- Oh and speaking of Rick Riordan….GUESS WHO MENTIONED ME ON THEIR BLOG? GUESS WHO LINKED TO MY REVIEW ABOUT MAGNUS CHASE? GUESS WHO IS DYING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THIS. (Spoiler: me.)
- The sequel to Sarah J Maas’ A Court of thorns and Roses is going to be A Court of Mist and Fury — so I would like to take this moment to thank her for naming a book after ME.
- THERE IS A TRAILER FOR SHADOWHUNTERS TV SHOW! I’m torn between being astronomically excited and terrified…because a 7 minute snippet got leaked and, well, I’m not convinced on Clary as an actor.
- Aentee @ Read At Midnight talks about blogger insecurities and confirms that they don’t matter. Basically yes to this post.
- Shanelle @ The Art of Escapism is hosting a blogging event called Hogwarts School of Blogcraft and Bookistry. It is exactly as awesome as it sounds.
- Aine @ Writing on a Vintage Typewriter is going to bake you a cake. (No, but really! She wants fantasy recipes!)
- Erica @ Loyal Run talks about attacking authors. It’s a big no, peoples, don’t do it.
- Alyssa @ The Devil Orders Takeout talks about sexism in literature. Also this post is just spot on.
- Mrs K @ Straupag mentioned me on her blog and it was SO NICE. (Thank you!!)
- Josie @ Josie’s Book Corner featured me. MEEEEEE. WHY IS EVERYONE SO NICE TO ME, OMG?! (Thank you, Josie!!)
- Abi @ Whimsy Writer did a response post to my How to Be Nice to Bloggers article and she is fabulous.
I kind of hesitate before squalling at you that I have an Etsy store and you should buy all my stuff…but. The occasional self-promo is tolerably acceptable. So! I HAVE AN ETSY STORE AND YOU SHOULD BUY ALL MY STUFF. (Kidding kidding…but really…) And Christmas is coming. Just sayin’.
And now for this giveaway! OH GLORIOUS DAY.
- OPEN INTERNATIONALLY.
- Two prizes! One is an ebook of YOUR CHOICE (up to $10AUD) and the second prize is an ebook of MY CHOICE for you. Mwahahaha. I will ask for a link to your Goodreads, though, so I don’t get you something you’ve already read.
- If for some reason you can’t accept the ebook I send you, you can also ask Amazon to exchange it for a giftcard.
BLOOD RED ROAD SOUNDS AMAZING!!! *Adds book to TBR* And I am so glad you broke the “meh” books curse! I hate it when that happens to me!
YAY FOR MY LIFE NEXT DOOR BUDDY READ!!! I am so excited! I’ve had the book in my TBR since I remember creating a TBR shelf in Goodreads. And I recently got a hardcover and I’ve been stroking the pastel loveliness of the naked hardback!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOUR NANOWRIMO BOOK!!! I am waiting for all the snippets but don’t disappear like you did when you wrote your assassin WIP! *glares at the book*
I GOT FIRST COMMENT AFTER A LONG TIME!!!! YAAAAYYYY! *fist pumps*
AHHH MISHMA. YOU WONDERFUL BEAN YOU. And yes yes, you need Blood Red Road in your life. It’s nearly a little like Half Bad in style. NEARLY. Not like, spot on. xD
AHH I CAN’T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEKEND. 😀 Pity our timezones are so different though, right?! 😛 It’d be awesome to be like live-DM-ing each other as we read. hehe.
I shall try not to disappear like last time. ALTHOUGh…if I go for the 50K in 5 days…bye bye. XDXD
I am thinking of one of a Patrick Ness or Pierce brown book…… maybe
EXCELLENT LIFE DECISION.
Well, hypothetically, since you recommended Blood Red Road and it does look interesting, I might pick that. Wait, is that the mind control? XD
Thanks so much for the shout out! And also CONGRATULATIONS ON 1.5K and you are clearly the best benevolent dictator for a giveaway, even if you dictate what we read as well XD I think you probably can do 50K in 5 days if you drop everything else. I’ll be happy to spread the word count out over the month since I have to balance homework and things.
YES IT IS MIND CONTROL. But shhhh, don’t let the masses know. They might rebel and I only have so much cake I can throw to control them.
Ahh, but see you are WISE. I will probably try to do it and completely be creatively burned out for the rest of the year. XD Buuuut…I kind of would like to see if I could, you know? Who needs to socialise with humans. Pfft.
Thank you for linking to my post and Team Red’s Hogwarts post <3 LOVE!
Oooo so many shiny books!! I am quite envious. I need to read The Demon King as well because OH MY GOSH FANTASY.
I read Blood Red Road when it first came out and I agree it is sensational! It's such a unique dystopia and I am pretty much in love with the heroine!
Rick Riordan is obviously IN LOVE WITH YOU. Never mind world domination, one day you shall rule in a PANTHEON!
Saba is just AMAZING. She’s so tough and snarky and MEAN, and yet I love her so much, omg. Her character development and relationship with Emmi is just my new favourite thing of ever. :’)
OMG. YES. I SHALL RULE PANTHEON FOR SURE. Don’t be surprised when a main character of his book has my name, obviously. *flips hair*
Warmest congrats to out world ruler! For the followers and for being on RR’s blog. That must be awesome 😀 Thanks for the giveaway. I haven’t a clue what book I’d choose. I’ll leave it up to you 🙂
I would pick you something EXTRAORDINARY NEVER FEAR. (Omg totally fear, mwahaha.) GOOD LUCK. 😀
I am totally with you not feeling the actress playing Clary! At first I was not feeling the new Jace too but after the leaked snippet I was okay but Clary? eeeeeeh I don’t know.
I just wish I’d seen the WHOLE snippet. AGH. I had to dash off and only watched the first 7 minutes thinking I’d come back and watch the rest later. BOO. So all I saw was Clary trying so so hard to act. It felt painful. 0_0
The Demon King is on my October TBR too, huzzah! 😀 I loved My Life Next Door, just fyi. If I had money, I would buy all the things in your Etsy store. I really would.
REEEEAD IIIIIIIIT. And then flail with me. XD I just ordered bk 2 and I’m dying waiting for it. *hyperventilates*
I will and I have all 4 books in a beautiful box set. 😀
Aw, look who’s hit the big time!!! (That might be interpreted as sarcastic or envious or horrible. It’s not. It’s supportive and encouraging and enthusiastic, okay?) (Jeesh, communication over the interwebz is hard sometimes!) Congratulations on all of your followers AND your new-found writer friends, Cait!!
I entered your giveaway and spent about 1o minutes (well, closer to 10 seconds, but that’s less dramatic) trying to remember whether I was your goodreads friend… and then I remembered that I just followed you because I’m too scared that you’ll reject me for not being awesome enough. I think I need to rectify this!
Beth x
Awww, you are NICE, Beth. *shares cake crumbs with you because has already eaten all the cake*
I CAN’T BELIEVE WE WEREN’T GOODREADS FRIENDS THOUGH. omg, Beth. Why would I reject you?!! You are like one of my favourite bloggers!!
YAY GIVEAWAY!!!!!! *cackles gleefully* I honestly don’t know what I’d like to win!!! I WILL LET YOU CHOOSE FOR ME IF I WIN. 😉 Because you’re the queen overlord and all etc. 😛
I WOULD CHOOSE SOMETHING MAGNIFICENT. I PROMISE. MWHHWHA. Good luck!!
OH MY GOD. RICK RIORDAN MENTIONED YOU ON HIS BLOG. IT’S AMAZING!! Congratulations Cait!<33
I’M DYING OF SCREECHING RIGHT NOW. THAT IS ALL. *flails in mountains of happy cake*
Argh you are so welcome and THANK YOU for the mention 😀 Oh and congratulations on 1500 followers! *toasts with cake* x
*eats all cake* THANK YOU RHODA!! 😀
The last amazing book I read was actually Night of Cake and Puppets by Laini Taylor. (I know, I know, it’s a novella), but it’s an amazing novella and totally worth the money! It’s fairly long and totally beautiful and OMG I want more Muzana or Mikana, or whatever we’re calling this particular ship of awesome shipness. I still need to read Dreams of Gods and Monsters BUT MY HEART CAN’T TAKE ANY MORE!!! MAKE IT STOOOOP!
Currently I have an awesome library stack, which contains The Accident Season, Twilight, and many more inc the Robert Galbraith *ahem Rowling* books. Also some Carlos Ruiz Zafon because everything he writes sounds amazing and I’ve never read any of it. Have you read Twilight? Because I’ve tried like six or seven times and still haven’t. This is time is the time! Onwards! Also I have the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (who eats potato peel pie, WHO?), and the Potion Diaries on loan.
Hypothetically, I would pick Throne of Glass because my library only has all the others and ACOTAR, and not the first one. (Though they even have the book of novellas). What are they doing with their library if it doesn’t have Throne of Glass in it!!
Yay for dragon books! I’m writing a fairy book! Melissa Marr has a new fairy series starting next year, Seven Black Diamonds. It’s YA, but it looks darker than her Wicked Lovely ones. Which I am in love with,. Because Donia.
Omg, I still have to read the Night of Cake And Puppets!! I think it’s lost on my kindle somewhere….I loooove Zuzana so much though. I mean, if she ever got a spin-off series = I WOULD BE SO ALL OVER THAT.
The Accident Season?!! *SQUEE AND FLAILS FOR 9 MILLION YEARS* That is my favourite book of this year I think. ZOMG. 😀 XD I hope you like it. (Noooo pressssure.)
But seriously it should be illegal for libraries to not own first books in series. -_- It drives me MAD most of the time.
FAIRY BOOKS FOR THE WIN. I’ve only read one Melissa Marr book though, omg…I should probably fix that sometime too, right?!
You are so persuasive 🙂 I just added Blood Red Road to my TBR. And congrats on 1.5K bloglovin followers!
OMG GOOD. My mind controlling tactics are working. MWHAHAHA.
WELL DONE ON ALL YOUR FOLLOWERS CAIT YOU ARE NOW ONE STEP CLOSER TO WORLD DOMINATION. Should I be afraid? 😀
Your Etsy store looks amazing, how are you so creatively gifted?
BUT AGH CAN WE JUST PANIC ABOUT SHADOWHUNTERS FOR A MINUTE????? I’m also not sure about Clary as an actor. I’m also not sure about the special effects. And I’m still not convinced they cast Jace right. I’m not convinced Cait, I’m not convinced. WHAT IF THEY RUIN IT???
NO DO NOT BE AFRAID. I will be firmly cruel and maliciously kind. It’l be perfect, I promise.
Origami is like my secret passion. XD HEHE. Although, I like fold only 3 types of things…maybe one day I’ll expand but probs not. I have books to read. *dies laughing at self*
YES PANIC WITH ME, REBEKAH, I AM IN NEED OF PANICKING. Clary was just…agh, I don’t know? It was just all wrong. ;( And Jace will always be Jaime Campbell Bower for me.
AHH CONGRATULATION ON 1.5k AND BEING MENTIONED BY RICK! That must be awesome! I haven’t read any Maggie Stiefvater’s books but after I read how awesome she is many times, I’m interested to try 😀 My Life Next Door is really adorable and I like it!
AFJDKSLA I AM REALLY JUST, GAH, I AM HONOURED AND KINDA SHOCKED STILL. XD Omg, but you need to read a Maggie Stiefvater book. I will get on my knees and beg you.
I’VE ALSO BORROWED LOTS OF LIBRARY BOOKS LATELY. That’s because I’ve been spending every day at the library (because HSC, ugh) and so I reward myself with books. Which is totally fine. Although sadly nothing’s been REALLY gripping me lately 🙁
I think that’s entirely fair though. I mean, study half a paragraph = reward self with 9 books. RIGHT? ISN’T THAT HOW STUDYING WORKS?? This year has been nowhere near as good as last year for excellent books though. *siiiigh*
Yay!!! Spell is broken!!!
Also, why do you have to be so far away in Australia?! Your etsy stuff is so pretty, but we are on opposite sides of the planet… :'(
*dances wildly in showers of glorious books*
But why am I so far?!? WHY ARE YOU SO FAR. XD
Aww, you’re so sweet having a giveaway, Cait! 🙂 I watched another clip of Shadowhunters and couldn’t help thinking that the acting could be better. I wasn’t convinced with any of them apart from the guy or plays Simon. In the clip above, I have to agree with you, I’m not convinced with the person playing Clary. It makes me so sad, especially because I really liked Jamie Campbell Bower playing Jace, and now someone else is.
That 7-minute clip they had out is goooone. I should’ve finished watching it while I COULD. GAH. (I like had to dash off after only seeing 3 mins.) And agreed. Simon looks kind of perfect. Although I’m still so so partial to the movie cast?! (Jaime Campbell Bower as Jace was EXTREMELY PERFECT.) I LOVE THE NEW ALEC AND MAGNUS THO.
YOU ARE AMAZING DID YOU KNOW THAT??? XD Hooray for Rick Riordan linking up, awesome books, and your color-coordinated shelves!!! Also, I will definitely be checking out your Etsy shop for Christmas presents. Your stuff is so adorable, and I think my sister would love it! 😉
*FLAILS FOR 349308 YEARS BECAUSE THIS IS THE NICEST THING OF EVER TO HEAR OMG.*
Can we talk about how your bookshelf appears to be colour-coded? (Is it colour-coded? Because, if it it, that’s awesome).
I am TOTALLY excited for the new Demigod series. You can never have too many demigods. Have you seen the Goodreads synopsis yet? I won’t spoil in case you haven’t but, oh my various Gods, this is going to be awesome!
You’ve got your NaNoWriMo book all plotted out? I’m working on mine right now – I’m not doing the final draft anymore. I’m first drafting my fantasy because NaNoWriMo seems like a good way to get it done ASAP. 🙂
YES IT IS COLOUR-CODED. And it’s technically the “family” bookshelf (mine is in my room and this one is in the lounge) but my mum said “Okay Cait you can sort it how you like” and — BOOM — so much power to me. Colour coding is my favourite. :’)
It’s going to be about Apollo right?! I AM EXCITED. I hope there’s cameos from all the favourites though…*hopes hard for Leo*
YAY FOR FIRST DRAFTS!!! And double yay for fantasy. It is like the best genre, tbh. XD
Doing really well, Cait! The last book I was really impressed with was What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler – a really feminist story about rape culture from the perspective of someone who is acquaintances with both the victim and those accussed. It’s excruciating, but it’s brilliant for it! I LOVED IT! So excited to share my review with everyone next month!
I have not read any of those books, but I hear Coleen Hoover is really good!
Hypothetically, the eBook I would like to win would be… um… The Stars Never Rise by Rachel Vincent! I SO need that book in my life!
Thanks for the giveaway, Cait! It was super easy to enter; already a Bloglovin’ follower, Twitter follower, Instagram follower, and friend on Goodreads. Already stalking you everywhere! 😀
Oohh, those excruciating but wonderful books. XD THEY ARE SO GOOD BUT HARD TO READ!! *goes to look that one up*
Clearly you’re just an excellent Fury Fan. 😉
You’re amazing ❤️ Okay, I figured I had to get that out of the way first : D
Hmm… An ebook to read? I would have to pick either Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone or All We Left Behind by Ingrid Sundburg
YOU’RE AMAZING TOO. *smushes cake in your hair*
I’ve read incredible things about Every Last Word. :’)
Thank you so much!! ❤️ That means a lot to me : )
I have too, that’s why I’m so interested : D also, Tamara Ireland Stone’s name is completely badass
A lot of stuff here I’m gonna watch the entries you put here.
And the ebook I’d like to win is Dreams of gods and monsters!
Ohhh, yay! I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone so so much! 😀
Okay I /would/ say that I want the first Five Kingdom book, but I want physical copies of all the Brandon Mull books. So. UGH I DON’T KNOWWWWW I must think about this.
DECISIONS ARE TORTURE. *pats shoulder and feeds you cake*
Congratulations on 1.5k followers AND finishing NaNo plotting!! Both of those are huge 😀 I plan on doing NaNo every year, but it doesn’t work out often because I have huge trouble coming up with ideas of how things should play out in the novel xD hopefully I’ll win this year, though~
I’ve heard Blood Red Road is incredibly confusing because it doesn’t have any quotation marks for dialogue, is that true? But regardless, your description sounds awesome so I’m definitely adding it to my TBR 😉
I have no idea what ebook I’d buy if I could have any one (any one!!) but the one that comes to mind immediately is Fans of the Impossible Life because I have not read it yet and am relatively certain I should.
I shall be rooting for you to win!! 😀
AND YES. Blood Red Road has no dialogue tags. And for the first 100-pages it really bugged me…but I just got into the groove of it and it was fine (although tbh, I still wish it had them).
FANS OF THE IMPOSSIBLE LIFE IS INCREDIBLE!!! *flails for eternity* I didn’t expect to love that one as much as I did but it. is. so. good.
Woo, giveaways! *Does most of the entries because she already follows Cait on numerous sites.* 😀
CLEARLY YOU ARE THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF AN EXCELLENT FURY FAN.
YAY CONGRATULATIONS CAIT! I’m also thinking of doing Nano this year but ugh November is a really bad time especially with exams. I KNOW YOU CAN WRITE 50K in 5 DAYS! I’M ROOTING FOR YOU. Also, congrats on the Riordan mention ;D.
I was so horrified by Clary’s “red” hair that it detracted my atttention from the acting XD.
Yes, November can be suuuuch a bad time for people, right? *sigh* I guess that’s why they do the “Camp” versions in the middle of the year. (Although I’m such a hermit writer I always sneak away from those because I’m too scared to be in a cabin. HEH.) AHEM. BUT YEAH. LET’s SEE IF I CAN DO THIS 50K IN 5 DAYS RIGHT!??!
Aaahh, what a glorious giveaway! You are obviously the best world-ruler there is. *nodnod* Congrats on 1.5k followers! EEEP! 😀
I’m sooooo glad you’ve gotten out of your reading slump! ^_^ THIS IS SPECTACULAR NEWS.
Oh man, what book?? Welllll. Hypothetically, maybe The Poisoned Cure by Deborah Dunlevy, because I’ve read the previous in the series AND I NEED IT. Or possibly Ashburn by Julia Erickson because I’ve heard great things and spies. OR Brakus by J. B. Millhollin because an OCD jewel thief sounds fabulous. AAAAAHH I DON’T KNOW.
I actually love the idea of you getting a surprise book for one of the winners. XD THAT’S AN AWESOME IDEA BECAUSE YOU ARE QUEEN OF BOOKS.
(And duuuuh, Rick Riordan linked to your post because you are AWESOME! 😀 (SERIOUSLY THOUGH THAT IS SO COOL.)
You’re plotted for NaNo??? *jealous* I need to do that but I’ve had a cold all week and my brain is just not up to it evidently. 😛 DON’T YOU DARE EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING 50K IN FIVE DAYS JUST NO. (Unless of course you want to. But… meep. O_O)
OF COURSE I AM A GLORIOUS WORLD RUILER *flips hair* And zomg being out of a reader slump is the best thing of ever. Slumps are the worst right?!
AWK. I was actually kind of pleased I thought of the “surprise” book idea! 😛 I want to do it again nearer Christmas, as sort of a Christmas present thing. hehe. 😉
Colds are the worst though. 🙁 I hope yours clears up really really soon. Being sick always makes me either 0% motivated or ENTIRELY motivated because I want to take my mind off it. xD
OH! And you asked what we’ve read lately that’s good? NOTHING. I haven’t read anything this month. *slowly shrivels* And I only read two books last month… I SERIOUSLY HAVEN’T READ A BOOK IN OVER THREE WEEKS. I’M DYING. DYING I TELL YOU. …Ahem. NaNo prep is busy and the next book I’m supposed to read is like 600 pages and it’s almost NaNo and I’m basically scared. XD
I WANT TO BAKE EVERYONE ALL THE CAKES. And yes, more Camp Half Blood Books! I was worried that the HoO series would be the end AND I WASN’T READY.
I WANT TO EAT ALL THE CAKES YOU BAKE, bASICALLY. AT LEAST I SHOULD BE ALLOWE DTO BE TASTE-TESTER RIGHT? I would be a fabulous taste-tester, I promise.
I will never be reading for an end of Camp Half Blood. XD
OOOOH I can’t wait to hear about your dragon book!! Woohoo!! Heh, NaNo will be interesting for me because I have other stuff I’m doing in November…like school and other important stuffses. But hey, I can do it! Woohoo!
I have no idea what ebook I’d want. Um…..Ice Like Fire?!?!? Yeah. Probably that. 😛
I AM SO EXCITED BECAUSE DRAGONS. *tries to calm dragonish fangirling* *fails*
Ooh, so you’ll be quite intensely busy then?! GOOD LUCK TO YOU. You’ll have it tougher than me XD
I’m planning on stopping by your etsy shop as soon as possible, because I have about a million bookish presents (or so it seems) to find for my friends for Christmas. It looks like a lifesaver!
Oooh, hypothetically, I’d love to get an ebook version of BIRDY by Jess Vallance. And I’d be so excited to see what you picked for me.
THAT’S WHO I AM. A SAVER OF BOOKISH LIVES. :’) XD Omg I have heard good things about Birdy!! *crosses fingers for you*
Hey Cait, congratulations! You are so amazing, and I entered to win the one SURPRISE EBOOK. I hope you give me a fave (not TOG, though, cause I already have all the books in hardcover). LOL! Seriously, your posts always make me smile, and I’m sure I’ve said this before but YOUR GRAPHICS. OMFG! I know a relative does them, but still: kudos!
Ok, this is a really long comment… I guess I just felt like raving about you. 🙆🏼
Oh ps have you read the Clockwork Angel trilogy?
HEHE GOOD LUCK IN THE GIVEAWAY! 😀 *whispers* And I would check with the winner to be sure they haven’t read the book, because that would suck to be gifted a book one already owns, right?! Awww, thanks, though! 😀 YOUR NICENESS MEANS SO MUCH, OMG.
YESSSS. I have read the Clockwork series! I LOVED IT. Although I’m like the minority here and actually liked The Mortal Instruments more. XD
DID YOU GET NEW BOOKSHELVES??? CUZ THE SHELVES IN THOSE PICTURES ARE NEW (and they can’t be library shelves because you arranged them by color. Definitely your shelves XD)
Thank you for making the giveaway international! I understand that you can’t make them ALL international, but I’m sad that I can’t enter all your giveaways. BUT I CAN ENTER THIS ONE. *happy dance*
NO THEY’RE THE FAMILY BOOKSHELVES. (Idek know why I’m shouting. I just do these days. *sigh*) We moved them out of my sister’s room at one point and my mum is like “you can organise them however you want.”
*rubs hands together in glee*
But technically they’re family shelves…*nods*
YES I AM GLAD IT’S INTERNATIONAL TOO!! Usually publishers sponsor my giveaways, which is why they’re always Aus only. But, oh oh! I’m having an end of year giveaway coming soon too. xDXD INT AS WELL. Omg, end of the year is full of presents.
I am super excited about the new Camp Half-Blood book. I sent my daughter a link (she loves the PJ series but didn’t really like Heroes of Olympus), and she’s on board, too. Apollo! As a teenager! I think it’ll be great.
I don’t know which ebook I would like. Something contemporary, realistic, and fun.
I AGREE!! I’m so excited!! And I hope more of the PJ characters make cameos. XD
Your bookshelf is fabulous, like wow. I also love your Esty store those little book necklaces are so cute.I was really excited for the Shadow hunters t.v show, but when I saw Clary’s hair, and the guy who plays Jace, I was kinda just *meh*
Clary’s hair is actually supposed to be red!! I was all weirded out when I read the books (because I saw the movie first…shhhh, I am an evil bookworm sometimes) that her hair is actually red not dark. BUT JACE IS ALL WRONG. I LOVE MOVIE JACE. And this new Clary can’t act very well. D: Maybe she’ll warm up!?
Frozen Tides
Thanks for stopping by!
So glad to hear you are enjoying The Demon King. It is one of my favorite books!
IT IS SO GOOD I CANNOT EVEN BREATHE. *hyperventilates* The Exile Queen needs be in my hands immediately.
Decisions are way too hard. Maybe I’d like to win The Night Circus? Something paranormal. I haven’t read any AMAZING books in a while though.
I have no doubt at this point that you could write 50k in 5 days lol. So what the heck, go for it? The word “should” is overrated 😛
Decisions are hard. NOTORIOUSLY HARD. The life of a bookworm…omg. *collapses*
bAHHA. YES. I really want to know if I could?! Like it’d be a bit of a push for me I think…and challenges are good, right?!
I’ve added two books to my TBR list already because of this post. LOL
Also your etsy shop is adorable. <3
Nooo I replied too earlier. lol stupid laptop.
I am so jealous that you’ve already plotted your nano story. 😛 YOU”RE SO LUCKY! Hey what’s your NaNo username? I only have smidgens of ideas at the moment.
Also you’re giveaway is so tempting…and I’m not sure what book I would want. I just found this book called Grave Mercy that i really want to read, so maybe that? It’s by Robin LaFevers.
WELL GOOD. XD My mission here is to make everyone’s TBRs hate me. heheh. 😉 Aww, but thank you! I am a bit of an origami addict. xD My NaNo user name is CaitGrace! (Because someone else is PaperFury. *ggaaaasp* How dare they right? I feel absolutely betrayed. *sniffs*) I HAVE READ GRAVE MERCY! 😀 I’d be curious to know what you thought of it. 😉
Origami is so cool, but I’ve had the patience to learn it. Story of my life basically. How dare that person! Do I need to hunt them down? Just say the world and your minion will do your biding. 😉
Also I can’t seem to find you on NaNo. 🙁 I’m Elizabeth-of-rohan on there.
YOU HAVE? That’s awesome! I’ve heard a lot about it lately and I’m DYING to read it. 😀
Hi, Cait, thanks for hosting this giveaway! Congratulations on hitting 1500 followers, that’s HUGE. But totally deserved, your blog is amazing.
I’d love to win Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson or Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers, because I loved the beginnings of both series and want to finish/continue them asap.
By the way, I’m doing NaNo, too! 😮 The best of luck with your novel! 🙂
Aww, thanks, Kaja! 😀 THAT MEANS SO MUCH. SQUEEEEE. Finishing series is a fabulous idea! 😀 I always feel like I start 9348 series and then only finish of 1. XD >_< I need to work on that!! OMG GOOD LUCK WITH NANO FOR YOU TOO!!!
Caaaaait, I just had a total fangirl moment (or two) when I saw that you mentioned me! That’s one of the nicest things you could say about me. You’re the best. <3 And I'm still so happy that you're loving The Demon King.
Mockingbird by Chuck Wendig was the last book that I just COULD. NOT. PUT. DOWN. It was so good. It's the second book in a series, and it's very dark, and full of swearing and crassness, but it's soooooo good. (You did like Red Rising, so it's not as if you can't do dark. And you like GoT, so it's not as if you can't do crass.) On the complete opposite end of the genre spectrum, I read First & Then yesterday. I wasn't planning to read it, but I needed a light, feel-good contemporary, and it fit the bill perfectly. I ended up really enjoying it.
The only one in your stack I've read is My Life Next Door, which I audiobooked earlier this year. It was cute and shippy and dealt with teenage sex better than most YA I've read. I hope you like it.
Thanks for the giveaway! You've earned those followers. As for which book I'd pick, I have no idea. Book decisions are hard. The chances of winning or slim, so I'm not even going to torture myself. 😛 I am curious which book YOU would pick for the winner, though.
PFFT. YOU’RE THE BEST. And I have just demanded the universe give me The Exiled Queen and it’s obliging so I’m absolutely hooked. I hope you’re happy. 😉
And I’m going to get out Mockingbird…because….HOW COULD I NOT BASICALLY?!?! I have to reserve it from my library though, so once I devour my current stack = me + library.
I’m kind of excited for My Life Next Door because those kind of books tend to be really funny. AND I LIKE FUNNY. (Is it funnY!? omg I hope I don’t have the wrong expectations. heh.)
ARE YOU KIDDING? YOU CAN’T GUESS?!!? STIEFVATER BOOKS FOR EVERYONE. (ahah unless the to-be-winner has read them all. -_- then my plans are spoiled.)
I am very happy, yes!
Make sure you read Blackbirds first, haha. I’m glad you can get it from the library, because I really don’t know what you think. You’ll either love it or hate it. (If you don’t *love* Blackbirds, though, I would still give Mockingbird a chance, because it’s Blackbirds x10.)
Hmmm. I’m trying to remember. There’s one scene in particular that had me laughing out loud, but other than that my brain is …. It’s mostly sweet and shippy. With a little bit of dark thrown in.
Hahahaha, I guess I just assumed anyone who reads your blog would have already read Maggie Steifvater, or you’d have disowned them by now. 😀
Congratulations on 1.5k!!! 😘 Also on finishing the plotting for you Nano novel. You’re a lot farther than me lol. Thank you for linking the Hogwarts post, it looks so interesting! And thank you for hosting this giveaway!! You already give so much, honestly. For the book, I’d say The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson or Pantomime by Laura Lam because I’ve wanted to read them for a while now, but my library doesn’t hold them and I haven’t had the money to buy books lately. I’d be perfectly happy and interested in seeing which, of all books in the world, you would pick, though! ☺
AWK, EMBER. YOU ARE SO NICE. *gives you copious amounts of delicious cake*
The only NaNo-ish thing I have left to do is tack my outline to my wall and cover it in sticky-notes, hehe, but that’s like optional for first drafts. (I’m a visual person!) BUT YEAH. I’M SO READY FOR THIS. *stockpiles chocolate*
Thank you for the cake!! 😂 I’ve tried the visual approach before, but it didn’t really help me much more than usual! So I’m still searching for that perfect thing that’s my process lol. Good luck! I can’t wait to see what more incredible awesomeness you create!! Which, by the way, I think you could totally do 50k in 3 days 😉 GO CAIT!!!
OMG 3 DAYS. *dies* XDXXD That can be next year’s challenge, right?!
The last book I was monstrously impressed with was … oh, I need to go consult my Goodread’s list. Oh, yes. “Princesses Don’t Fight in Skirts” by Aya Ling. It was a delightful flip on rebellious princess trope.
I think I’d most like to read “Throne of Glass.” It intrigues me.
I know nothing about any of your books, but the fantasy one on top sounds interesting. It’s fantasy, after all.
And I’m not sure whether or not I’m excited about more Half-Blood. I have read BoO, and until I’ve read that, I won’t know how excited I am about more. I’m intrigued though. That’s for certain!
Ooh, I would be SO CURIOUS to know what you think of Throne of Glass! 😀 And fantasy is everything basically. :’) I’ve been on a huge fantasy kick at the moment, which I LOVE although they talk me longer than whipping through a fluffy contemporary. STILL. Love.
There’s going to be a new Camp Half Blood series?! And Riordan mentioned you! Wow! What a good week for you. Congrats on 1.5k followers
It is the week of RIORDAN AWESOME CLEARLY. And omg, Molly!! HIIIII!! *waves wildly* I feel like I haven’t chatted to you in AGES. :DD
UGH I STILL NEED TO COMMENT ON YOUR BOOK BLOGGERS POST. I can’t believe I read that post, thought “OOH SHE HAS SUCH GREAT IDEAS,” and then /didn’t/ comment on it like you suggested book bloggers should do. COLLEGE IS JUST SO BUSY UGH. But I’ll comment on it eventually… soonish. 😛
AHHH I LOVE YOUR BOOKISH PHOTOGRAPHY.
BAHHAHA. THAT IS OKAY! I had so many people tweet about it that I felt rather like I’d forced everyone to share it and I felt bad. lol XD
Gorgeous photos, as always! I loved My Life Next Door, I hope you would love it too. And thanks for the giveaway!
Aw, thanks, Ksenia! 😀 THAT MEANS SO MUCH. <3
CAIT, we must have some form of psychic connection because this morning I posted a picture on Instagram with a caption along the lines of “I swallowed the library” (checked out 10 books) and then you make this post with the title of “I ate the library”! Crazy, crazy.
Sounds like you had a good week, and thanks for the giveaway!
CLEARLY WE HAVE A PSYCHIC CONNECT. (Are you thinking about sandwiches….because I am.) *AHEM* But I say swallow/ate the library all the time. XD HAEHhEH < -- That is me laughing by the way. I don't even know how to type anymore.
Congratulations on reaching such a huge follower milestone! And also on plotting your NaNoWriMo book — I’m not even halfway there yet… As for the book I’d hypothetically like to win, I’m thinking Shiver, since I loved The Scorpio Races so much and have yet to read another Stiefvater novel (shame, I know).
Oohhh you better get a NaNo wriggle on there, Serenea. xD ONLY 10 DAYS TO GO! (Well, for me in Australia haha) Shiver is an EXCELLENT life choice because all of Maggie Stiefvater’s books are gorgeously wonderful. :’)
*FLINGS CONFETTI AND GLITTER AND CAKE* YAY FOR SO MANY FOLLOWERS!!!
YES I AM SO VERY EXCITED FOR MORE CAMP HALF-BLOOD!!!
Last book I was so very impressed with… I’m not sure. I’ve read so many good ones!
What book would I want to win… Red Queen, Fangirl, Linger… (I have such a list… how could I choose just one!?) XD
I AM SO EXCITED FOR CAMP HALF BLOOD (do we call it like Part 3??!) I CANNOT EVEN. I’ve gotten so addicted to Riordan books over this last year. xD
LINGER. CHOOSE LINGER.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to you! Wooooooo!
I’d probably choose Welcome to Night Vale. I love this podcast and I’m super curious about the book!
Awww, thank you!! IT IS RATHER EXCITING. *dances*
Blood Red Road IS is excellent, I’m glad you liked it. I would like to win…. Daughter of Smoke and Bone, so I can force my sister to read it (I know, my magnanimity knows no bounds) I read Six of Crows and Walk on Earth a Stranger this week, and they were both really, really good, just my kind of books (I also read Black Dove, White Raven, which was disappointingly I-don’t-care-about-plot-or-characters) I had a really good week, too. I was on a school trip, which was fabulous, and I learnt a lot about tibetans and Tibetan culture (which was the point of the trip) and had lots of fun and read lots of books, and
visiteddragged my friends to every single bookshop in the place where we were (though I didn’t find any books I wanted to buy) So that was fabulous. Also Tibetan food was consumed in large quantities, which was fabulous.Forcing sister’s to read books is an EXCELLENT pasttime. My sister swore she’d read something in her last set of school holidays but..not. *sobs* I’m going to literally duck tape her to a chair over Christmas though and FORCE her to read The Raven Boys. My heart can’t take that she hasn’t read any Maggie Stiefvater.
omg, Black Dove White Raven wasn’t good?! THIS IS TRAGEDY.
A school trip to Tibet? YOUR LIFE IS SO AWESOME.
haha lol, I didn’t go to tibet, I went to Dharmsala which is where the dalai lama lives and the tibetan parliment is. Let me know how the ducktaping thing goes 🙂
Best book read recently? History of the Rain by Niall Williams, an Irish family saga that meanders as gracefully as the River Shannon through three generations of Swains. The pole vaulting Great War surviving great-grandfather, the salmon-fisherman-writer grandfather, and the poet father whose daughter Ruth tells the story. Exquisitely written with a passle of eccentric village characters and and poetic images of hardship and heartache, all told through the eyes and soul of a young woman who lies in bed (Agoraphobia? Depression? Both? We’re never sure.) with a penchant for literary allusions and exaggeration. The final pages reduced me to a puddle of tears and that’s not happened in a very long time. Caution: slow starting, but by page 100, you are in!)
WOW. That sounds like a completely amazing book! Beautiful writing is just the best thing of ever to discover. :’) (Although I usually get frustrated if beginning’s are slow…but if the endings are incredible, what’s not to love, right?!!)
congrats on all the fantastic followers! I’m off to check out our Etsy shop!
Eeep. XD THANK YOU. <33 I am a bit of an origami nerd as you will soon notice ehehhe
Blood Red Road is AMAZZINNGGG. I loved it so much. And I loved the second book even more. And congrats on the followers!! 😀
So. Let’s talk about this Rick Riordan thing because HOLY CRAP. I mean, I haven’t read the books, but even I know that is HUGE. And he has you listed with a ton of like, BIG name sites- not even just blogs, but sites! I think this means something. Especially when you consider that Sarah J. Maas named her book after you. Because if you look at it in passing, it LOOKS like “A Cait of Mist and Fury” So I assume the whole book is about you. And mist, I guess.
Clary… she isn’t good. I won’t even try to soften the blow. BUT. When I first started watching The 100, the girl who played Clarke was BAD. Like, terrible, so much so that I wanted to stop watching the show. But NOW, she is good! So maybe Clary just needs to get into the groove? Can we tell ourselves that? Perfect!
As for the last book I have loved, I am in a bit of a slump. It may be the books, it may be me, it may be both of us, but the last book I adored was like, a month ago, at least. Fingers crossed that I get out of this soon! I think you should keep reading My Life Next Door, basically because I want to know if I should read it 😉
I CANNOT EVEN WITH THAT BLOOD RED ROAD. I JUST WANT TO HUG IT FOREVER. OMG. EMMI AND SABA’S RELATIONSHIP WAS THE BEST CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF MY LIFE. And um, yeah, I’ll stop shrieking at you. But I’m so haaaaapy. :’)
AZJFKDLSA I KNOW RIGHT?!? LIKE, OMG THAT DOESN’T EVEN HAPPEN. I am the only blog on his list. o.O THE ONLY BLOG. Is this real life. Pinch me. SOMEONE.
It’s totally a Cait of Mist and Fury too, of course. I’m pretty sure the whole “court” Thing was actually a typo.
AGh, I hear ya with the slump. Last month NOTHING WAS GOOD. I had like 10+ two-star reads and that is not fun at all. I hope you find a good book sooooon.
1.5k followers Cait?!?! WOW! That’s absolutely incredible, and you so deserve it! Thank you for the generous giveaway – you’re too kind. ♥
And I’m curious to see what you think of My Life Next Door. I found it entertaining, but it was a bit too romancey for my tastes, but I wonder what you’ll think. (I know…I find everything too romancey. #DontJudge)
Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous recap Cait! ♥
AFJDKLSA THANK YOU ZOE. XD I’M SO EXCITED AND HAPPY RIGHT NOW. And omg, you are quite scowly at all the romance aren’t you. 😉 heeeeh. Okay, but it’s NOT my favourite thing of ever. But I still like it if it’s well written (and funny…I am a sucker for anything funny).
I cannot WAIT to read MY LIFE NEXT DOOR but it just doesn’t seem to be happening 🙁 College, exams, ARCs…gahhhhh. But one day I will devour that book and burp sparkles because I KNOW that book is going to be awesome <3 I'm not very happy about Clary either -_-
DUUUDE congrats on all the followers <3 So excited for all the dragons!!!
OH GOOD. I mean, bad, about Clary. XD But good that I’m not alone in being severely dubious. XD
And omg I feel ya with all the OTHER stuff that gets int he way of reading certain books. *heavy sigh*
HELLO CAIT!!!!! WOW CONGRATS ON ALL YOUR FOLLOWERS!!!! YOU ARE A FAMOUS PERSON!!!!
If I WAS to win….I would probably like http://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00JEMIVJM?keywords=King%20Arthur%20Collection%20(Including%20Le%20Morte%20d&qid=1445159871&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 The King Arthur Collection BECAUSE I LOVE ARTHURIAN LEGENDS and it would be totally awesome to read it.!!! YAY FOR GETTING THE RAVEN BOYS!!! How many Maggie books have you got now?
Congratulations again Cait!!!! xoxo Renee
*CROWNS SELF BECAUSE FEELS SO FABULUOSLY FAMOUS TODAY* hehe omg Arthurian legends sound AMAZING. You know…I actually haven’t ever read any?! Not really. I FEEL ASHAMED. XD My only Aruthurian knowledge comes from the Disney movie the Sword and the Stone. heh. *ahem*
I OFFICIALLY OWN 5 MAGGIE STIEFVATER BOOKS. :’) I’m working on collecting the Wolves books now. xD
oooh yay! I think I’d like to win… something sic-fi. I haven’t read anything except the first throne of glass book? I don’t know. Congratulations on 1.5 thousand followers! That’s great. And yay giveaway!
OMG THANK YOU SHAR. <3 Sci-fi is always an excellent life decision.
OMG yes, I totally agree with you – the Clary acting? EGH. And I wish Dominic was as sexy as he was in the VA movie *swoon*
I’m still dubious about Jace?! Because I LOVED movie!Jace so much. But yeah. Clary LOOKS perfect but omg…maybe she’ll warm up as the episodes progress?
Huge congrats on the followers, Cait!!! I absolutely loved My Life Next Door and the cover for The Raven Boys is so freaking gorgeous (and it’s a freaking amazing book) 😀 Have a lovely week!
Zareena @ The Slanted Bookshelf
THE RAVEN BOYS IS EVERYTHING OMG. *hyperventilates quietly in the corner* I need to reread absolutely immediately.
You’re so lucky to have finished your nanowrimo plotting, I didn’t even start yet, and I’m not even sure I’ll participate, haha! and a DRAGON book, that sounds SO cool, I want to know MORE about this!!
Legacy of Kings is on my TBR, I need to get to it soon, I’m glad to see you enjoyed it! I’m not sure it’s my kind of story, I guess I’ll see! 🙂
I really enjoyed My Life Next Door, I hope you and Mishma will too! 😀
DAMN IT, your Etsy store is so beautiful. I would love to order one of those gorgeous book necklaces, but you don’t ship to France, damn it, 🙁 anyways they’re gorgeous!
And thank you so much for this giveaway! 🙂
And damn, about the ebook I would like to win? That’s a great question, I just want to read ALL THE BOOKS!! 😀
OMG YOU ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS LEFT. GO GO PLOT! PLOT! XD hehe Okay but I am a bit of a wild and very detailed plotter so I like to know aaall the things before I start. XD
Legacy of Kings is WONDERFUL. I was so happy! 😀
*whispers* If you want to order a necklace just send me a private message through etsy and I can ship to France. 😉 But no pressure! HONEST! NONE!
Maybe Someday was my first book by Colleen Hoover and I really enjoyed it. There are some things that I didn’t like about it, but the overall story was quite wonderful and I just enjoyed every page. There is one character in here that you will want more and more from and I cannot wait to see what you think and if you agree.
Congratulations on all the followers, Cait, that’s amazing…and I mean you totally deserve it! 😀
What book? Hmm, I suck at choosing what books to buy as an e-book and what book to have on my shelf because THEY ARE ALL SO PRETTY!!!!! My lovely co-blogger just got my The Book of Ivy so the sequel would be totally super duper awesome!
Ooh, I am reading it now and a little bit…dubious?!? (The she-was-cheated-on-but-now-she’s-the-cheater thing is not sitting well with me. 🙁 ) Ridge is pretty adorable. xD
Whoa! Awesome Giveaway! ;] Thanks for the opportunity!! If I could chose an ebook I would love to win, it would be The Raven Boys!! You have me intrigued.
Thanks for sharing my post!! :] It is my first post that has attracted both positive and negative feedback…. But I kinda love it. Haha
CONGRATS ON 1.5K!!!
OMG THAT IS A MARVELLOUS AND HIGHLY WONDERFUL CHOICE. I WOULD APPROVE OF THIS IMMENSELY. Aww, negative feedback on your post?! I thought it was absolutely WONDERFUL. 😀
I loved Blood Red Road! The narrating style is so amazing, even if it takes a bit to get used to. I just recently finished the trilogy and although the ending wasn’t AMAZING, I was satisfied with where the story went. It is definitely a really unique story.
What e-book would I like to win? Hmm…I’m not sure. I’d probably just let you pick both of them because I’d be here all day deciding:P
Great giveaway!
Same! I took me like 100-pages to really get into the flow. (I missed the dialogue tags so. so. much. AGH.) But I need the next books asap and that is all. *nods*
I’d be excited to have you pick a book out, but I think I would pick The Golem and the Jinni 🙂 Congrats on the 1.5k followers!
Yaay ThANK YOU!! *showers you with cake of happiness!*
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW RIORDAN SERIES. (I just finished Magnus Chase and it was amazing so now I’m doubly excited.) But Apollo? I mean, why him? Why not Percy or Leo or Annabeth or someone? Heck, Reyna would be fine. Apollo just doesn’t seem like series material, but I guess it could work.
I remember seeing Rick’s blog post and kind of doing a double take because I don’t exactly see blogs I read mentioned in author posts very often. But WOW. That is awesome.
I have….two chapters of an outline for NaNo. And,a couple characters. And a magic system. And that’s it. But I would love to have it all planned out….
I was SO in love with Magnus Chase. XD That book was ridiculously hilarious. sO HECK YES I WILL READ ALL THE THINGS. I’m assuming it’s going to be hysterical and I’m DEMANDING cameos from Annabeth/Percy/Leo/Nico. Basically. Everybody. That is all.
AKJFKDSLA I WAS JUST NOT EXPECTING THAT AT ALL!! A friend tweeted me to tell me I was on there because otherwise I wouldn’t even have known! *dances in a million circles*
Congrats on 1.5….wait, MILLION? WHAT. OH MY, THAT’S HUGE. *SHOWERS YOU IN CONFETTI AND CHOCOLATE, SUGAR AND SPICE AND ALL THINGS NICE*
You’re making us choose a book? YOU ARE SO MEAN. Maybe Underneath Everything? It sounds positively evil, which I’m sure you relate with …. 😉
BAHAH NO!! Just thousand! XD I’m not that famous (yet mwahhaaha)
Omg positively evil?! WHAT IS THIS BOOK AND HOW HAVE I NOT HEARD OF IT. *dashes off to google it*
Cait, you are more than worthy of being featured, you are very welcome!
OMG OMG I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR NANOWRIMO! *flails and squeals*
And CONGRATULATIONS on your Bloglovin’ achievement! Woop woop! 💗
*tackle hugs you and smushes cake of joy in your hair*
AHHH SO MUCH DRAGONS. SO MUCH NANO HAPPINESS. XD I’m really rather ridiculously excited. hehe
Thank you so much for the giveaway!! And congratulations on reaching 1.5 thousand followers. That is amazing!! Your blog is awesome and I am so happy to have discovered it. Other than the fact that my TBR pile now hates you, you are amazing. And I absolutely loved Legacy of Kings. Have you read the prequel, Voice of Gods? It was so good. It may have even been a bit better than Legacy of Kings. Crazy, yes, but it’s true.
AWW, THANKS CYNTHIA! *tackle hugs you with cake* And I will look up Voice of the Gods ASAP!!! Is it like a full book or just a few pages? XD EITHER WAY = I NEED.
It is more of a novella. It’s roughly 120 pages. But it is so good!!
Congrats on the IG followers!!!! I’m a tad bit IG obsessed myself. I just LOVE book photos!!! <3
I'm also totally obsessed with your book flowers. I'm low on cash right now, but I stare at them longingly. Once I have the extra $ I WILL be purchasing some. SO MUCH LOVE!! 🙂
It’s so addictive scrolling through the hashtags, right?! I just want to like everything. xD There are some MEGA talented book photographers out there!!
AWww, thanks, Lisa!! 😀
Agh, so many exciting things!!! Also, I’m almost finished reading Throne of Glass (because you love it and I hear about it everywhere) and it is so, so, so good. Ack. *hugs book* And I honestly can’t decide what I would even want if I won the ebook. Something awesome, obviously. I have a ginormous list in my head. Maybe The Fault in Our Stars, because I haven’t read it yet and I really should. Thanks for the giveaway!
AHHH I’M GLAD YOU LIKED IT!! Although *shuffles nervously* I don’t really like the series so much after Queen of Shadows. Mega disappointment. *sigh* oh oh but if you liked it, you should totally try The Demon King. IT IS INCREDIBLE. AFJDKLSA
RIORDAN! OMG! OMG!
That’s how you know you’ve made it right there. Absolutely amazing! You must have been totally stoked Smushy.
I read Blood Red Road a few years ago and absolutely LOVED IT. The series is amazing, but sadly book three let me down. Just wait until you read that one and the I’ll poke you with a stick until you agree *pokey pokey*
Thank you for the giveaway Smushster. I have no idea, but I’d like to win something of your choice really. But nothing weird like buying me something smutty and forcing me to read it 😀
*DANCES AROUND LIKE A GREEK GOD BECAUSE REASONS*
I remember you raved about it a few times and I was like “Me needs” because I trust you, Kelly. 😉 OMG BUT BK 3 IS NOT GOOD!? WHAT IS THIS LIFE. *breaks dishes and throws tantrum* I’ll read them all!! I’ve got book 2 reserved already!!
wow grats on so many followers that is amazing! also for being featured on authors blog, must be exciting 😀
I dont know what book I would pick, my brain just totally blanked.
I’M BASICALLY DYING BECAUSE OMG. o.O Stuff like that doesn’t happen to me. hehe. So YEAH. Best moment of ever. :’)
OMG I can’t wait to hear all about your dragon NaNo novel. Can we be expecting hysterical snippets on Twitter as you write it?
*enters giveaway and shares but secretly hopes no one else enters as I do with all giveaways…*
Looks like we’ve both been having good reading runs recently! Crown of Midnight utterly destroyed me, but I adored it! Sarah J. Maas is clearly a genius.
Welp, forgot to subscribe to follow-up comments . . . ignore me. xD
YES. Unless it is a sad pathetic book and nothing funny comes out in which case I’ll hide it and cry as I write. But pfft. Who are we kidding? I’m HILARIOUS. #alsohumble
Oh, I understand completely. I always express my love and admiration of Maggie Stiefvater… and I’ve only read her Wolves of Mercy Falls series. Oops! And oh, I don’t have high hopes for you enjoying Maybe Someday. It DOES have a dead MC and it should be very interesting for your research (you’ll get what I mean after you read it) but it isn’t the most well-written novel you’ll ever pick up. I mean I liked it, but it is a 100% guilty pleasure read. Looking back at it, there’s so much wrong with it makes me wonder what I saw in it…
Oh, and many, many congrats on your Bloglovin’ stats! You deserve it, with the amazingness you’ve created here.
Oh, and for an ebook? Man, you are putting me on the spot. Ha ha, but seriously? Probably a Kierstin White book that I haven’t read yet. I’ve read her Mind Games series and already own Illusions of Fate, so maybe Paranormalcy or Chaos of Stars? I’m super into her writing ATM.
Omg, I didn’t like Maybe Someday AT ALL. *hides in corner of shame* I should just learn and not try NA books. But. Tempting. -_- It was semi-interesting research for the deaf aspects though!! But the cheating on top of cheating just made me so angry. BUT THAT’S GOOD YOU LIKED IT! 😀 No shame in enjoying something hehe.
No need to be ashamed! We all have different reading tastes and all that. But I didn’t think you would enjoy it anyway! I’m not a NA sort of reader either really. I’ve read like one that I enjoyed but most of them seemed to consist solely of terrible romances which is so not my thing..
Ugh, there is a litte shame in enjoying a book that I objectively hated, and boy, was that cheating so NOT COOL. But I guess I couldn’t stop my heart shipping the MCs like mad so… well, it is the past now. Hopefully you’ll find the NA for you one day!
You know, that trailer does look mighty interesting, you know what, you’ve convinced me, I’m going to give the mortal instruments another go 🙂
EEEP! We can watch it nervously together. xD I hope it’s better than the dubious 7 minute snippet is all.
I would love to win the runner up prize because I’m so curious as to what book you would pick for me!
Also: I have tragically not commented on your blog in what feels like an eternity so, I’ll have to make up for that ASAP!!!
I’ll probably pick something that starts with Maggie and ends with Stiefvater….LET’S BE REAL. (AHAH I’m kidding. Only if people hadn’t read all her books yet, and I wouldn’t if they hated them). XD
omg I have tragically missed you, Karen! HOW HAS LIFE BEEN?!
OMG RICK RIORDAN LINKED TO YOU?????? THAT IS LITERALLY THE COOLEST THING EVER!!! *NEEDS BIGGER CAPS BECAUSE OF HOW COOL THIS IS*
And I didn’t know he was gonna do another book set in Camp Half-Blood, but can I just say I am RIDICULOUSLY excited??? I cannot wait! 😀
Ah, there are way too many books to choose from. I have no idea what book I would choose if I won, lol. I’d probably just pass out from the difficulty of having to choose only /one./
Which is to say that it would probably be better if you chose for me, lol.
Thank you for hosting the giveaway! If I won it I’d want the Fifth Wave. I want to read it before the movie comes out. XD Also that’s so so cooool that Rick Riordan mentioned you! You’re officially famous now.
Congrats so much on the Rick Riordan commenting! How exciting!!
I’m still utterly freaking out about it! SQUEEEE
So glad to hear you enjoyed The Demon King! I loved that series! The Exiled Queen was my favorite book in the series 🙂 Plus, the author is writing a new series called Shattered Realms that will take place a generation after The Seven Realms series 😀 I’m so excited for that to come out!!
AHHH I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS SERIES!! Although I have no idea why it took me so long to start it?!?! IT’s purely incredible and I’ve just ordered The Exiled Queen *dances* And when I finish them all, hopefully it’ll be just in time to start the new series. Epic timing, hehe.
Something scary, please! That’s what I am looking for, and I can’t wait to find a good YA horror!
This is so great Cait! It’s epic that Rick Riordan gave you such a kind mention, that’s really exciting. (And I love your Etsy stuff, it’s lovely).
If I had any ebook, maybe Blood Red Road, because your review really made me want to read it 🙂
Ehh… I’m a little late once again! Anyways, CONGRATULAAAAATIONS! 😀
And yayieee, I LOVE giveaways though I rarely manage to win. So, if I manage to win, hoping there’s a tini-tiny 1% chance I would love to get my hands on The Forever Queen (Pendragon Book 2) by Nicola S. Dorrington.
Oh there are so many books I want, but I have not read a Maggie Stievater book and The Raven Boys has been on my TBR for awhile now! (So has shiver….). I love your blog! Thanks for being so positive and fun!
Congrats on your 1500 milestone Cait, that is basically incredible and you deserve every follower! Also fingers crossed that you love Maybe Someday, it is my favourite NA.
OHMYGOSHCAITIAMSOPROUDLETMEHUGYOU *hugs*
Honestly, you are so lovely and deserve ALL THE FOLLOWERS! I always enjoy reading your posts, and they always make me smile! 😊
xx Elly xx
Lovely post. 🙂
I would like to win (hypothetically, of course), Golden Daughter, by Anne Elisabeth Stengl. 🙂
I watched that seven minute Shadowhunters excerpt too…. I’m not convinced on ANYONE as an actor. To be entirely honest, I was really expecting something better, BUT if it’s really trashy I will just enjoy it in a different way. So… yay?
