But seriously now…hoooow is it December?! It came so fast I didn’t even do a November recap! THE SHAME. But to be fair I was busy a) swallowing the entire library in 2 gulps, and b) organising a little celebratory party here on Paper Fury. Go check out my giveaways! You can win ebooks and a mini book necklace and there is cake. Obviously. I also have a survey. Most people have confirmed I should change my name to Ferdinand. Or change it to Cake, even. Because Cake and Cait are pretty interchangeable, let’s be honest.
I’m also trying to think of a plan of attack for posting over the Christmas holidays. Kind, gentle attacking, peoples, do not panic. I am not malicious despite my blog’s name. Will people be around? On holidays? Too busy smothered in chocolate and tinsel to be reading blogs? WHO CAN KNOW. I’m very curious to know if you’re blogging or taking a break during the last weeks of December! This little Grinch will also attempt to post something Christmasy…eventually. (At least my photo above is Christmasy, right?! Festive success!)
Erm so…I ate the library? AGAIN. I can’t even help it anymore! The “rule” is supposed to be I get 2 books out per week, so I don’t a) feel overwhelmed, and b) I’ll still have time for ARCs and co. “So what went wrong, Cait?” you say. EVERYTHING. Books are just too darn adorable and need adopting.
- I AM MALALA: I’ve known her name for ever…but I never actually knew who Malala was or what she stood for. Thank goodness she wrote a book. I ate it. Malala is awesome. (Although the writing of the book is super heavily political and I drowned.) ★★★
- DOES MY HEAD LOOK BIG IN THIS: I’m trying to read more Aussie YA!
- DASH AND LILY’S BOOK OF DARES: Christmas books + Cait = Grinchy reviews punctuated with shrieks of “but that’s not realistic” and therefore Cait learns just to not read Christmas books. ★★
- ARTICLE 5: I can’t even remember why I wanted to read this. BUT I DO.
- CITY OF A THOUSAND DOLLS: Everything about this cover and title intrigues me, okay?! OKAY.
- IF YOU FIND ME: I’ve wanted to read this forever!
- THE OATHBREAKER’S SHADOW: I’ve wanted to read this forever too.
- WOLF BROTHER: Same as above. So bascially I’m caving to me “I’ll borrow that book another day” whims and getting them ALL RIGHT NOW. I’ll regret this soon, I just know it…
- SOUNDLESS: I actually wanted this quite badly because I hear SO many negative things and I am curious. See?! Negative reviews do actually make readers pick up the book!
- WINTER: Because…um…obviously!?!? Although I confess I’m waiting for the audio so I can listen and read along (if I want to) simultaneously. The size scares me, okay?!
- RAGING STAR (Blood Red Road #3): I’m obsessed with this series! It’s so underrated!! And here is the finale…I might cry.
- THE GRAY WOLF THRONE & THE CRIMSON CROWN: I’m also equally obsessed with this series. These are the last two books!! HELP. This is YA fantasy as epic as it should be, humans. Go read it.
- THE BONE GAP: I am so happy to own this entirely marvellously delicious book. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. IT IS EVERYTHING. All the stars and a million more. ★★★★★
Aaaand…on audio from the library!
- SIMON VS THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA: I’ve been recommended this by EVERY HUMAN EVER (particularly Maraia and Bieke) and I’m finally reading it. (Well, listening to it!) It’s monstrously adorable.
- PRINCESS OF THORNS: This is absolutely my NEW FAVOURITE OF EVER. I can’t even understand why no one talks about this book?!?! I. had. so. many. feels. I was literally suffocating!! And the ship. MY OTP. AHHHHHHH. I shall scream about this book forever until you all read it because SHEER BRILLIANCE, I TELL YOU.
(Let’s pause for a moment and consider all the bookworms [aka, me right now] who’ve read an entirely underrated book and have so many feels but must suffer alone. WE ARE STRONG.)
My Instagram conglomerations of late…
I’ve got another ginormous round-up, my squids! HAVE FUN.
- Jennifer Niven announced on Twitter that she FINISHED THE ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES SCRIPT. ERMAGERD. Movie. is. happening.
- JON. SNOW. LIVES. [please RIP Cait who now officially cannot even]
- I’m assuming you’ve seen the Captain America 3: Civil War trailer? BECAUSE IT HURTS. To be honest, I’m not thrilled. I want my heroes to bash bad guys not each other…and I will forever love Iron Man because he is the reason I even started watching Marvel.
- And the A Monster Calls trailer is gloriously perfect.

OMG WINTER IS SO IMMENSELY SATISFYING!!
THAT IS EXCELLENT NEWS. I AM RELIEVED. *gobbles it immediately*
I will be blogging during the holidays (Theres only on more week of school YUS… though I do have a LOT of homework to do in that week) and I’m travelling so there will be recaps most likely and yes. Does My Head Look Big in This is awesome, and it’s really important to consider how we treat muslim women as a society, plus it’s quite funny. Thinking about violence is so important- how it’s shown in YA is super important, and I think it desensitises us (not to mention Marvel) The Civil War trailer was very dramatic nad I DO want to watch it- but- they should be fighting evil not each other… still I”m interested to see how it turnns out, especiallyu because I finally watched Ant man and the Winter Soldier this month. I’m (re) reading the awesome Fitzosbornes at War, listening to a Their Fractured light audiobook and also a random fantasy book I saw at the library called Ship of Magic about living ships and traders and pirates. I’ve only read 40 (out of 800 whoops) pages so far, but it seems awesome)
YAY FOR NEARLY HOLIDAYS!!!! And I finished Does My Head Look Big in This and YES. It’s such an important book and it was really eye-opening for me. I seriously wish there were more books like that out there…and it was funny. hehe. Plus so diverse! With the Greek neighbour and the Jewish friends….I’m super impressed. *nods*
I guess violence can desensitise us…I mean, I’ve been told that all my life. BUT. I like action and things. Fake action. >_> I do not like hearing about violence IRL, so I guess I’m a little hypocritical in that respect *sigh*
Omg so many books, Cait! The last two books of the Seven Realms series is FANTASTIC. I adored ever minute of them. I cannot wait to read Flamecaster.
I haven’t been reading much ever since I finished Air Awakens and Fire Falling by Elise Kova (which are AMAZING GO READ THEM!) but I’m picking at A Clash of Kings right now. The season teaser for GOT kills me. Ugh, so terrified yet so excited. JON SNOW SWEET BABE.
I’ll have to check out a few of the books you’ve gotten, some look so good. Thanks again for being apart of my post <3
I’m so glad I bought both though so I have them to read back-to-back. XDXD I CANNOT EVEN WAIT. AGHADFKSAJLFDKS And then Flamecaster *grabby hands*
Ohh I really want to read Air Awakens! I actually haven’t read reviews, but I’ve heard marvellously wonderful things. :’) JON SNOOOOOOOOOOOW MY LITTLE DARLING. I literally haven’t finished watching the last season of GoT that’s out because I don’t want to see him die. Reading the book was hard enough. He is my darling.
It took you that many gulps to swallow the library?! Pffft. Your posts are always so exciting and vibrant. My library is, unfortunately, not good for books. They barely get new books. 🙁
I’ll be keeping to my normal schedule during Christmas. And I just finished reading Hogfather by Terry Pratchett and I’m now reading The coal Elf by Maria DeVivo. They’re all Christmas themed books.
I KNOW. I’m getting slack in my old age. Sheesh. Clearly I need to swallow it more often. *nods* My library is a bit slack for newer books too…like most of these are 2013 or 2014 BUT STILL. they do try their best and they are open to purchase requests which is great!!
ahhh you reminded me how much I need to read some Terry Pratchette books. XD
I am so jealous right now. WHY, OH WHY, DON’T WE HAVE A SINGLE DECENT LIBRARY IN THE AREA?! SO UNFAIR!
Anyway, I always look forward to your recaps because that’s how I discover new blogs to sta– erm, follow.
OMG YOU DON”T!?! I WEEP FOR YOUR LOSS. Libraries are the most epic thing in my life. :’)
Awk, I’m so glad!! 😀 I love doing recaps so I’m glad people like reading them. And new blogs to
stalkfollow are always excellent, right? 😉I love your giveaways ASDFGHJKL Thanks for making it international, love! And *squeaks* Winter is…LARGE. Like how many pages IS that? My eyes must be deceiving me, because it looks larger than Queen of Shadows…I mean WHAT. And I don’t know if I’ll be blogging during the holidays, because the ENTIRE month of November was just…#noschoolNovember here in Chennai, because FLOODS and other scary things happened, and they’re TALKING ABOUT CANCELLING OUR DECEMBER VACATIONS OMG HOW DARE THEY. *sobs* My vacations can all float away in the water. Stupid floods.
Winter is like 800 pages. *dies quietly* Like I’m sure they’ll all be excellent page but it’s still totally intimidating. :O AND IT’S DEFINITELY LARGER THAN QUEEN OF SHADOWS.
Awk, floods? I hope you are okay? D:
And I hope they don’t cancel your December holidays. THAT WOULD BE SO SAD.
My pretty little blog is going on a hiatus during the holidays, but I’ll still be around to comment on all the fabulous posts!
Also, yes, Winter is HUGE! But I can’t wait to read it. Did you get Flamecaster? It’s set in the same world as the Seven Realms series and I got it from Edelweiss. HURRAH! AND YES SIMON IS SO ADORABLE! IT’S THE MOST ADORABLE BOOK EVER AND I LOVE IT BUT YOU KNOW THAT AND… *cough* Ahem. Yeah it’s pretty good…
I don’t want them to fight either but OMG IT LOOKS SO GOOD THOUGH!
Aww, I shall miss reading your posts! BUT BREAKS ARE GOOD. I’m feeling a bit exhausted, actually, so I should probably at least take some time off. XD
I haven’t got Flamecaster!! I shall finish off Seven Realms first and then go stalk it on Edelweiss. XDXD Thanks for letting me know it’s there though becauseI had no idea! :O
AFJKDSALFJD I CANNOT LOVE SIMON ENOUGH. HOW IS THAT BOOK SO INCREDIBLY ADORABLE? I CANNOT EVEN.
SO MANY BOOKSSSSSS. My sister bought me three from my wishlist for Christmas and I’m not supposed to know which ones but I know one of them is Winter (I like cheating). But I’m definitely going to buy Bone Gap once my bank account has recovered from all the present-buying. EEK.
AWW YOU HAVE SUCH A NICE SISTER THOUGH. My sister never buys me books. Neither do my parents. Sheesh, what is this? They’re trying to get between my and my OTP, basically. Ahhh, Winter!! 😀 Although you still have to wait so long to read it so –> 🙁
Do you library? My library actually had Bone Gap and I nearly DIED of surprise because they barely ever have any new books. (And yes, I still bought it afterwards. I am THAT obsessed with loving it.)
Nice haul! I’ve read a few of these, so I hope you enjoy! I’ll be on break from work over the holidays, but I’ll still be blogging. Happy Saturday!
Yay for holidays and breaks!! I will probably keep blogging too, although I’ll take time off around Christmas because breaks are good. XD
Everyone is like talking about Winter and I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t start the series yet 😐 Planning to read Cinder soon, though. Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares seems like the perfect christmas read for me, but sorry you didn’t enjoy it! Also YES for All the Bright Place movie! Can’t wait for it 😀
Ahh, well we can’t keep up with ALL the series right?!!? 😛 I hope yo do try Cinder eventually though!! It’s worth the hype: I PROMISE.
Can I just say: I lovelovelovelove your Instagram pictures. They’re gorgeous.
In answer to your question: I will probably try to blog around Christmas/New Year’s . . . I want to do Part 2 of my Best of 2015 list (Part 1 happened back in June/July), and I have some Christmas poetry that I’m posting.
And I can totally relate to the “trying to eat the library’ thing . . . that’s what I was doing before NaNoWriMo and school got in the way. *sigh* But now that my life is not full of crazy writing-ness and biology, I shall give it another shot. *nods*
Can I just say: omgthankyouthatisoniceofyouahhhhhhhhhhhh *ahem* BUT SERIOUSLY THANK YOU. <3
I need to do some "best of" lists too!! Because I have SO many books I want to flail unconditionally about *nods* I really need to not go to the library. That would solve my problem. XD BUT ADDICTION. XD
Arrg I’m so jelous of your papery wonderland. I need more books. More money with which to buy them. More time to read.
I did get to finish Winter this week, thank the stars, and left an extremely long, gushing review on goodreads. Don’t be intimidated by the word count. Every sentence is sweeter than sugar. You’re going to love devouring it.
I’m going to try to blog this Christmas. One post a week is manageable right? I can already tell I’m going to regret that statement…
*squawks with happiness* Yess libraries are lifesavers. But buying books is just, gah, it’s just a really special kind of awesome. :’) I HOPE YOU TRIP ON A GOLDMINE SO YOU CAN BUY MORE BOOKS!! I’m like 100-pages into Winter now and I. adore. it. *flails*
First of all – because this is IMPORTANT – I picked up “The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer” and omg CAIT; I’m only 20% into it but this is totally a YES book. Liking it so much so far. Eeep. Nextly, why yes, yes I am blogging through the holidays. I’ve got lots of stuff planned >:D
I am definitely intrigued by the “A Monster Calls” trailer. I read the book and it was an “okay” book for me. I’ll go see it though, since I’ve read the book. 🙂
OMG REALLY!?!? Okay bumping it up the TBR. Actually I was considering starting it tonight but I can’t decide so I’ll probably just not read anything and pet my TBR instead. XDXD ahem.
Aww, you weren’t a fan of AMC? I basically cried in the book. So the movie is going to huuuurt.
I JUST FINISHED MARA DYER LAST NIGHT. AHHH, CAIT. AHHHHHH. I’m trying to be a good little nugget and continue with my next planned book of my TBR, but I want to start the next book so badly it hurttttttssssssss.
OH THAT MAKES ME A MILLION PERCENT EXCITED FOR MARA THEN. I was photographing it today instead of reading it… XD Yes. I have problems. But omg, good on you for being a good little nugget. I would probably just cave and read the rest. 😉
I’m listening to Winter on audio now (pre-ordered from Audible). I’m 1/3 through it and am immensely loving it, though the reviews I’ve seen make me afraid for the future. Can’t wait until you read it!
I’ve just started the audio and HUZZAH IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL. I particularly love the slight French accent of Scarlet. <3 XD
GAAAAAAAAH I can’t wait for Civil War. Mostly because Vision is going to be in it…heheheheh. And he’s my favorite.
I just started Winter last night and OMG Winter and Jacin are so cute!!!! Eeeeeeeep! I’m also starting a new manga series, Bleach. I just finished Neverseen, the fourth book in Keeper of the Lost Cities series. I’m really interested to see what you think of the series. I love it; but sometimes I think it’s a little fluffy and then by the end of each book I’m in love with the series and I think it’s brilliant. AND THE SHIPS. EEEEEEP. So, um, you should try the series.
Um….I haven’t blogged in a while….i probably should…BUT I do read blogs a lot, all the time. Especially over Christmas, because I have more free time.
I’m glad you’re excited! 😛 I AM TOO NERVOUS. heeh. I’m 100-pages into Winter and and afjdkslad yesss her and Jacin are adorable. How does Marissa Meyer manage to make each book better than the last?!?! SQUAWK.
“But seriously now…hoooow is it December?!” DUDE YO ASKIN THE WRONG PERSON. Literally I don’t understand it either. I’m like, “But…Summer!” as she runs towards the cosmic exit door with armloads of all my happy emotions. Not fair. THE PARTY MADE UP FOR THE RECAP THO. Seriously, I’m still hungover from that survey. ♥ “Because Cake and Cait are pretty interchangeable, let’s be honest.” YES and becuase I know so many Kates and because Cait and Kate are kind of homophones, I always refer to you as Cake around my sister I hope you don’t mind. x) I’M CONFUSED TOO, THO. *glances at calender* So I guess it looks like I’m posting something SOEXCITINGICOULDSCREAMANDFLAILFOREVER on the Monday before Christmas…(spoiler alert! heh) and then hopefully a lifey thing the day after Christmas. Ooh, and I just realized that Christmas is on a Friday so yay for all the people who have real jobs! *all the people who have real jobs glare at me for not knowing when weekends usually are* ahem.
Not gonna lie, City Of A Thousand Dolls sounds SO FLIPPING CREEPY. like, ack. And eee, I really want to see Malala’s documentary. It looks amazing. She’s such a cool girl omg. LIKE WHOA THAT PHOTO I DID NOT KNOW THAT WINTER WAS THAT HUGE. But I’m always very comforted by these things because when I write I can get a bit…carried away(?) with my word count (heh) so if I can somehow SAVE IT ALL for the LAST BOOK, I’ll look like a NORMAL HUMAN BEING. Okay, so I won’t look very normal once people actually witness me…but whatever. It’ll all be great. It’s all great.
OKAY NOW I GOT ALL DISTRACTED READING YOUR REVIEW FOR BONE GAP AND NOW STAHP I WANT TO READ DIS BOOK. Literally you don’t even want to know what I’m reading because it’s nothing. xD HORRIBLY, TRAGICALLY, NOTHING. Life is such a cruel beast — always has something for me to do. *sigh* BUT NO I have not been following any Captain America bandwagon or whatever, but I did watch the trailer because everyone what flailing about it and I was just like…”this looks kind of lame.” and that was pretty much my only reaction. xD so yeah.
YOU’RE AWESOME.
love,
abbiee
OMG YOU’RE HUNG OVER FROM THE SURVEY. *DIES A LITTLE OF HAPPINESS* HOOOOOW ARE YOU SO ENTIRELY WONDERFUL. <3 Omg, you refer to me as Cake. CAKE. MY LEGACY IS HERE. :') I'm honoured and proud and that's probably a worrying emotion, but it is what it is.
I'm like 9000% sure someone fast forwarded November though because. Why has it gone. Wait. I need it back.
AHHHHHHHH NOW I'M ALL INTRIGUED AND EXCITED FOR THESE MYSTERIOUS POSTS. *pokes you* Hints?? *puppy dog eyes* Okay okay, I'll wait quietly in the corner with cake.
Winter is like a massive brick. I'm sure i'll need a box of tissues just as large when I'm finished. I've already cackled so hysterically I had to stop reading and I'm only 100-pages in. And with Marissa Meyer it's like “first let them laugh THEN MAKE THEM CRY” because she is mean. But I love her. :’)
YOU. NEED. THE. BONE. GAP.
EVERYONE NEEDS IT.
I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING AROUND HERE, ABBIEE. IT’S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IN THIS UNIVERSE. Like I libraried it and then I went out and bought it because fjadlsad I need to own it. I need to pet it and reread it 394839 times. BONE GAAAAAAP.
What I got from this post, Cait, is that size definitely matters… Sometimes, I’m even more happy with my kindle when I realize I’ve just read a 900 page monster, because it would hurt my hands and arms to hold it – and that didn’t happen with the kindle version. Also, most of the time, I have no idea how many pages there is in a book when I start reading it.
I’m going to check out your giveaway and your survey… Aren’t you happy with Paper Fury as a name? I rather enjoy it – because with the speed your reading (and writing) at, you’re a fury when it comes to paper 😀
Have a fantastic weekend and happy reading.
AGH YES. Kindles do save those aching bones when books are huge. 0_0 And actually the Seven Realms books are really weirdly heavy for some reason. And I’m glad I’m tackling Winter on audio because my iPod is so much easier to hold. :’)
Oh yes! I am happy with Paper Fury! I’m celebrating that I changed to Paper Fury. XD It’s been a full year. YAYYYY.
WINTER IS…well, it came? I don’t know. Make that sound better in your head. Anyways, you probably already got my DM. 😀
I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO FINISH THE SEVEN REALMS SERIES. It’s a good thing you got both at once, because it’s impossible not to binge them.
Simon! <3 You'll have to tell me if you guessed correctly who Blue is.
Er, to be honest, I don't even know what the Civil War movie is about. I'm guessing it's not the American Civil War. XD
RIGHT NOW I’m reading the words as I type them, but besides that, I’m reading Illuminae and Insignia, as well as audiobooking The Green Mile (in German!) and The Amber Spyglass (re-read). So far I’m loving the humor in Illuminae, but I have a feeling things are about to get serious.
Winter is coming definitely has a better ring to it. HAHA. OMG BUT THANK YOU FOR IT. *collapses* It is amazing and I’m so glad I hung out for the audio. I should’ve bought the Seven Realms boxset right at the beginning. XD But I wasn’t suuure (now I basically know to just shut up and trust you 100%. I HAVE LEARNED.)
I didn’t even have an inkling to who Blue was!! NOT A CLUE. Except I knew it wasn’t Cal because Simon thought it was and that would be too easy. XD
The Civil War movie is about everyone crying. The end. (My nerves cannot handle watching it ever.)
YOU ARE READING 4 BOOKS AT ONCE?!?! I ADMIRE THIS SKILL. I usually read 2 (an audio and a physical) but that’s about all XD Illuminae is perfection. AIDEN basically. I shouldn’t love evil computers but…I do.
Haha, it certainly does! Maybe “Winter hath cometh”? XD I’m so glad you’re enjoying the audiobook. What do you think of the voice for Iko? I thought she was hilarious. Yayyy, I’m very honored. 😀
I don’t know what made me think — was Blue. When I re-read next year, I’ll have to pay attention to what gave it away.
Well, that just sounds lovely. Sign me right up.
My brain might be a little tired, haha. The problem is that I have to have an audiobook going at all times, but if I’m listening to one in German, I can’t listen to that one while I’m trying to fall asleep or doing other things that require more attention, so now I have to have TWO going at all times. And then I’m buddy reading books with people, but I read more than average in a given day, so I’m not satisfied with reading that amount and have to read something else as well. I’m sure you understand.
I’m going to DM you about my Illuminae thoughts so I don’t accidentally spoil someone.
I LOVE the narrator!! I was a little bit dubious at first…but I always am with audios. It takes me a few chapters to know if I like it. But this: I LIKE. I adore her voice for Winter and she reads with a lot of emotion so that is fabulous. Not quite sold on Thorne’s voice though…
I do understand. Completely. *nods* And thanks to my abundance of audiobook options I’ve taken to wondering about the house whilst listening and you can imagine how much grinning was involved while listening to Simons. I think my family thinks I’m nuts. NO WAIT. They knew that already. XDXD
WINTER IS HERE. Gah. And I don’t own it yet although I will be getting it soon. *pouts* I’m glad you’re going to be doing something Christmasy (probably) because I won’t be going home for Christmas this year which means I will probably have a whole lot more time on my hands and I should definitely have time to read anything you post. I will also be blogging just the same as ever over the Christmas season, so I should probably think of something Christmasy to post.
As for books I’m reading–well, not nearly as many as you right now because I barely got any blog reading done in November and I’ve been catching up on that before I start my TBR pile again, but I am working on Watership Down at the moment and I have a few other books I’m partway through (like A Clash of Kings, which I do want to finish before the end of the year). But oh my goodness, where the heck did you come from, December? Don’t sneak up on me like that.
Yeah, I definitely think you should change your name to Ferdinand, or Cake–I’m thinking Ferdinand Cake would sound a little bit cannibalistic though, otherwise I would recommend combining the two names.
YAY FOR BLOGGING. I always utterly enjoy your posts. I AM JUST SAYIN’, LIZ. JUST SO YOU KNOW. *nods* I will probably be reading blogs whether I blog or not. I maybe possibly slightly have a blog addiction. hehe. And I want to start editing soon and not reading as much so YEAH. THAT SHOULD ALL HAPPEN.
Oh oh are you going to read Game of Thrones #3 next year?! PLEEEEASE SAY YOU ARE. BOOK 3 IS THE BEST OF THEM. And by “best” I mean “utterly worst don’t even look at me because I’m crying too hard”. It’s wonderful.
I think perhaps Ferdinand would be better since I eat cake so much. And if my NAME is Cake and I EAT cake people might get confused. *nods*
signed,
Ferdinand.
Awww, THANK YOU SO MUCH. *hugs comment*
I would really, really like to read book #3 soon, especially because I’ve been hearing so much good about it and it’s not like I could just walk away from the series for long because I REALLY NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. But I need to wait a while to get ahold of book #3 until I have a bit more money on my hands (I’ve been buying the e-books), so it may be a couple months before I can flail about it with you. *sad face* In the meantime, I still need to slog through the marshy middle of book #2.
AGh, that middle IS totally sloggy marsh. It was so boring at times. *heavy sigh* But the ending is aaaamazing. (I wanted to strangle Theon most of the time and seriously every time he got a chapter I wanted to gouge my eyes out. UGHHHHHH THEON.)
If blogging intensely you mean blogmas, then no. My problem with blogmas is that I put a lot of work into every post I write, and so to only sort of give them 24 hours of air time feels wrong. I’d rather spread 24 posts over a few months instead of days. Instead I’m manically writing the posts that I’ve saved in my drafts thinking “THAT’S A GREAT IDEA!” and then have completely forgotten about them.
Currently I’m reading My True Love Gave to Me. Some of the stories are ridiculously weird, but others are JUST SO FLUFFY!!
I see people doing blogmas but I don’t actually know what it is. MY BAD. XD I do understand that putting a lot of work into a post and only having it at the top for one day is frustrating. *pats shoulder* I actually have a sticky note list on my laptop for all the blog post ideas I need to write. XD
EW WHY IS IT DECEMBER!?! I CAN STILL REMEMBER DECEMBER FROM LAST YEAR THIS ISN’T FAIR. Hmph. Anyway, let me start by wishing you luck with your library stack. GOOD LUCK. Those Gray Wolf Throne and Crimson Crown books look really interesting, I think I may have to research them. Someone ring google and tell him I need him, please. You never know Cait, maybe this post is just what you needed to catapult those underrated books into guaranteed popularity for the rest of their papery lives??? I could happen! All you need is faith, trust and pixie dust! 😀
AT least you can remember last December. I CAN’T. *dies laughing at own horrible memory* My mum and I were trying to remember what we made for Christmas dinner last year aND FAILED SHAME ON US. Oh oh definitely look up The Demon King series. Like absolutely definitely. They are GLORIOUS.
*sprinkles you with pixie dust*
Not ‘how’ Cait, WHY. WHY MUST IT ALREADY BE DECEMBER AND ANOTHER YEAR IS GONE AND I AM GETTING OLDER AND EXAMS ARE GETTING CLOSER AND I HAVE DONE NOTHING PRODUCTIVE THIS YEAR AT ALL.
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
Also, If You Find Me is breath-taking and beautiful and TRUE, the Blood Red Road trilogy is so underrated.
ALSO WHAT, I NEED WINTER NOW NOW NOW. *has a tantrum*.
OKAY I CONFESS. IT SHOULD’VE BEEN WHY. BECAUSE DITTO TO ALL OF THAT. OMG. WHY AM I GETTING OLDER TOO, HAWWA? MAKE IT STOP. I NEED TO REMAIN A CHILD FOREVER. Adulthood is too scary I cannot cope. *dies*
I want to screech about the Blood Red Road books from the ROOFTOPS. ERMAGERD. They are so ridiculously good. And I’m glad If You Find Me is excellent! 😀 It’s kind of been on my TBR For basically…ever. AWK.
OMGGGG, I’m sooo jealous! So many books, poor me neither do I have a library here nor any friends from whom I can borrow books. What a sad life! :'( BUT that gives me a chance to buy all the books for myself, no matter how many bazzilion year that it’ll take!
OH OH AND I LOOOVE YOUR ORAGAMI SKILLS and also your photography skills!! I love stalking your instagram. *SIGHS*
OMG NO LIBRARY? HOW DO YOU LIVe. HOW DO YOU EXIST. OMG. I would absolutely collapse without my gorgeous library to devour so much, and it truly does have a great selection (although not many newish books unless they’re uber famous **sigh**)
AW THANK YOU. <3 Origami is so. much. fun. XD
Yeah, sometimes I feel I still live in the dark age.
You’re welcome. I’ve tried to do oragami a few times but I manage to fail pathetically every single time. I really wish I could do it! 😛
I can only do 3 types of origami. HAHA I AM SUCH AN ORIGAMI CHEATER. But it’s fun. XD And once you’ve folded a thousand paper cranes…it gets easier. 😉
Then I’ll not give up! 😀
SAME DUDE. SAME. Also, why do all the books have to come out the exact same month?! I WILL GO BROKE. I DO NOT HAVE A JOB. *sobs angrily* Also, the post hugs you back. (Her name is “The Propaganda of District 13,” but it’s too long and odd for some of us here, so we also call her Jane.)
THE BOOK WORLD IS CONSPIRING TO MAKE US BROKE FOREVER. *collapses* And omg, I know your that was your post’s title! Sorry, I just sometimes reword when I link!! I’ll put the full title next time. 😛
ARTICLE 5 sounds so awesome, i don’t even fully know why, but, it DOES – *commences to google it* also, if you find me has the coolest book trailer EVER, have you seen it? 😮
I HAVE NOT SEEN IT. I shall google the trailer immediately! THANK YOU.
*weeps because self still does not have library card* Anyway, look at all of those fabulous books! I’ve heard of Mala too and have wanted to read her book, but I haven’t yet…because things. lol
Do you ever have that problem where you are excited about a book on your TBR but aren’t able to get it and so a month or so goes by and then you forget about it? Because this is my life. 😀
Your survey is hilarious btw, I enjoyed doing it. 😀
I’m going to be doing my best to blog all this month, but we’ll see what ends up happening. Right now I’m reading Sleeping Giants by Syvain Neuvel….I’m not enjoying it very much. 🙁
You can get yourself a library card for Christmas! 😀 XD I WOULD DIE WITHOUT MY LIBRARY. Although I hear ya, I do…gawsh, there are so many things to read (and write!!) and just so not enough time. XD And yES I do get that feel. *nods* Like it just takes too long and by the time you get the book you aren’t as keen?! MEEEE ALL THE TIME.
I should. I’m hoping someone is going to get me a library card for Christmas. ::D
WHAT A PERFECT CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!!
IKR? Here’s me hoping. lol
Your IG is always flawless, Cait! I cannot wait to start The Lunar Chronicles. Seeing your picture of Winter makes me 10000x more excited. I am starting Cinder now, heck yeah 😀
AWWW, ERICA. *blushes* YOU ARE TOO NICE BASICALLY. I’m starting Winter and ahhhh!! IT IS PERFECT.
Firstly thank you for linking to me! I always appreciate a shoutout ☺️
Now onto some important fangirling, I didn’t even know A Monster Calls was being made into a movie but it looks so so good and that cast is star studded and LIAM NEESON NARRATION. I just about passed out. I know Patrick Ness is like a great author and not like my child or family member but I still feel really proud of him? You can be proud of an author as a fan right? I still haven’t read this book (I know, I know, it’s been on the TBR list forever) but I will be devouring it soon
As for holidays I will certainly still be reading blogs. I planned to pre-schedule my posts actually
THE LIAM NEESON NARRATION IS JUST EVERYTHING. I pretty much can’t contain my excitement about that. And omg, doesn’t it look so beautiful filmed?!??! SO EXCITED. And Patrick Ness is amazing and deserves all the recognition he’s getting. :’) You totally should try the book though!! It’s MG but it’s surprisingly sad and feelsy.
I am reading If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan, and loving it. I am so happy to see Simon Vs in the stack! It is one of my favourite books of this year! Tell me your thoughts! How are you doing? Hope all is well, and you enjoy your holiday! I am trying to blog more, rather than less. I will probably talk about what I’m doing for the holidays for other people, and whatnot!
yES I ABSOLUTLEY LOVED IT. 5-STARS. ALL THE FEELS. And I appreciate your blog name so much more now, hehe. 😉 Oh oh I can’t wait to read your posts over the holidays!!
Wow that’s a lot of books! Lately I haven’t been reading as much and it hurts, so much. I used to read a new book like every 2-3 days, but Netflix. It’s consumed me. Love your post btw!
Omg, Netflix the evil villain. 😉 But yes, erk, it is a lot of books…I need to NOT library, like, for a long time. *whispers* I totally library every week and it’s becoming a problem…BUT A GOOD PROBLEM.
WOAOHHH CAIT your massive library book haul puts us all to shame! I am forever impressed by your book eating skills and how you eat them so quickly! I’ll be blogging throughout December, I figure if people are on holidays then they’ll be blogging right?? Anyways, great to hear about Princess of Thorns, another fantasy for me to check out on the list!
Either they’ll be blogging because they’re on holidays or they’ll be going away. XD SO IDEK. I’ll probably still be blogging because I think it’s clear I’m addicted. 😉 Hehe. AHHH I hope you do snabble Princess of Thorns someday. TALK. ABOUT. WONDERFUL. *collapses*
Hi! This week, I ate the library as well. I have out 10 books because they are shiny and cute and I must gobble them.
Don’t worry! I’ll be reading blogs over the holidays!
Currently I’m reading The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, and Four by Veronica Roth.
Also, one of the books I got was Princess of Thorns, mostly because you badgered me into reading it!
We are twins in the library-eating-matter then. XD *hi fives* And no regrets right?! Books are just too delectably wonderful. :’) Oh are you liking Four?! I ADORED FOUR. Although it was a bit bittersweet because it was the last Veronica Roth book I read and I miss her writing!!
AHH REALLY?!?! ASFJADLSK I HOPE YOU LIKE PRINCESS OF THORNS. (Tell me what you think when you read it?! PLEASE. *puppy dog eyes* XDXD)
1) I have requested Princess of Thorns from my library. (They had to order it because they didn’t even HAVE it.)
2) ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES IS BECOMING A MOVIE? So excited!
3) I am 5-hype for A Monster Calls!
-Monica @ Tomes Project
P.S. I started audiobooking The Raven Boys from the library, and it is actual perfection.
1) THIS IS GLORIOUS NEWS. YOUR LIFE DECISIONS = A+
2) Yes yes!! Ellie Fanning is starring for Violet!! I can’t wait to see who Finch will be…
3) ME TOO
And omg, I am going to listen to The Raven Boys soon!!
CIVIL WAR OH MY GOSH. OH MY GOSH.
OH MY GOSH.
I haven’t actually seen the trailer yet (I haven’t actually seen Age of Ultron yet?… hehe), but I am already SO STRESSED OUT about it. I have had many moments of NEARLY SHED TEARS just thinking about it. I am SUPER DUPER AFRAID of how it’s going to turn out. -dies- If only I could use half the energy I use in being SCARED TO DEATH of this movie to defeat Hydra or something.
I haven’t seen age of ultron yet either! TOO MANY FEELS, EMILY, TOO MANY. My Vulcan soul is suffering. *flails and collapses*
I always check out way too many books at the library, but I find myself not quite reading all of them. (shhhh…) I love your wrap-ups! They are always so entertaining!
I really TRY to read them all…but omg *whispers* sometimes I don’t either. We’ll hide our evil secrets together shall we? 😉 EEP I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKE THEM. Wrap ups are weirdly my favourite. XD
“I’m sorry Tony. You know I wouldn’t do this if I had any other choice. But he’s my friend.”
“So was I”
WAS
WAS
TONY SAID “WAS” INSTEAD OF “AM”
If you listen closely you could hear the sound of my heart breaking. *curl into a ball and sobs in the corner*
yES I HEAR YOUR HEART BREAKING, TASYA. MINE IS IN PIECES SOMEWHERE AROUND HERE TOO. ALL THAT IS LEFT IS TO CRY AND DROWN IN CAKE.
First of all, great haul and awesome pictures. Your copy of Winter is so much wider than mine. Weird.
I just finished reading The Heart of Betrayal (and LOVED it; oh my gosh that book is so perfect and conflicting and ALL THE FEELS). Now I’m about to start reading Endure by Sara B. Larson so I can review it before it’s released. I’m so excited to read it as it’s a) the last book in the series and b) it’s going to be utterly amazing because I loved the other two books in the series.
I’m hoping to get Endure all read this week so I’m ready for Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes on the 15th. I am so stoked for this book. December is shaping up to be an awesome reading month for me. So many fantastic book. SO LITTLE TIME.
Really?!?! I was freaking out because the website said it was 300 pages. Like, um. NO WAY. (It was a little obscure Aussie retailer.) But it arrived in it’s full humungous glory. AHHH I want to read Heart of Betrayal at some point!! And is Endure in the same series as Defy?! Because omg, I need to even read the 2nd book yet. o.O That’s so awesome December is going to be a fab reading month for you! YAYAYAYYA. There is nothing more glorious than a good book *nods*
I am reading a graphic memoir called Honor Girl by Maggie Thrash (I think that’s the name?) As for blogging during the holidays – I still do! I’m around and I like to read/comment but i know some bloggers take time off to be with family and stuff so they don’t post AS much or whatevs.
OH OH do you like that book?!? I had a bit of trouble with it. >_> The ending just…it just was a bit…hmm. ANYWAY. XD I’ll be interested to know your thoughts!! 😛 And I agree, I think the blogosphere gets a bit quieter around holidays. I might take time off after christmas until New Year’s or something. XD Ahhh, the decisions.
Agh CAIT! I’ve been avoiding the library just so that I also don’t eat it that way that you have! Because I’m already stocked up on books on my shelves… And I think I need to read that post on procrastinating the books we really want to read because that’s been happening to be for maybe two months now… Heh.. 😅
I take my nephew/niece to the library every. single. week. Do you see how this is a problem?!? DO YOU SEE?!?!? I can’t even contain myself *cries* Omg YES do a post on procrastinating epic books!! I literally didn’t buy Winter for a month because I couldn’t bear it. XD And I’m putting off a ton of book series finales because … I don’t even know why. WHyyyyyy do I do this to myself, Josephine?! WHY.
Umm the A Monster Calls trailer gave me actual chills. How did I not know that this was a thing!? Where have I BEEN, Cait!?!? Okay. So I read your Princess of Thorns review, which means I now have ANOTHER book to buy. Thanks. 😛 I think that I Am Malala is so, so important and powerful, which means I should probably be reading it ASAP. She is such an inspiration to basically every single human being ever.
I need you to read Raging Star now, please. I even bought myself a copy, because if you like it, I shall reread it and see if maybe I was just having a bad day. Because I could have been, we just don’t know. Also, I want to know what you think of Soundless. I am like, one bad review from putting it in the “pass” pile and sending it off to… I don’t know, reform school? Prison? I haven’t decided.
I don’t umm know what this Civil War thing is. I mean, I know what a civil war in general is, but not this movie or whatever. Sorry? And yes, I will be furiously blogging as much as I can because I am SO BEHIND. I will never catch up. Do you know why? I leave ridiculous comments. I left a NINE paragraph comment on someone’s blog the other day. I have things to say! Like right now, to you!
Currently, I am reading 3 books: A Mockingjay re-read, Asking For It by Louise O’Neill (which will probably eat my soul) and Revenge and the Wild by Michelle Modesto. Bet you can’t guess which my favorite is 😉 HA kidding.
You didn’t know?!! SHANNON. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN. CLEARLY NOT PAYING ATTENTION. hahaha. Okay but seriously you have been kind of busy lately. 😉 And I am here specifically to bring you all the news. *pats shoulder* And yES you need to read Princess of Thorns immediately. The entire world does. THE ENTIRE WORLD. *flails and collapses*
Oh you didn’t like Raging Star?! *gulps*
I will never catch up on blogging either at this point. Gah. I have 100+ comments to answer and 100+ blogs to visit and comment on. AND THEN I GOTTA WRITE POSTS. And then, ya know, reading is also handy when one runs a book blog. I do NOT understand how all the massive blogs do it. I DO NOT.
How is Asking for It?!? I’m kind of terrified of that book. :O I’m still in traumatic recovery after Only Ever Yours… HA I BET YOU HATE REREADING MOCKINGJAY THERE.
With Christmas I’ll just keep my usual posting going, I think. it will be planned in prior (as I’m probably working Christmas or a part of Christmas). Probably. I mean it is still more than 2 weeks away. Still plenty of time to change my mind about it. XD
Ugh, that Civil War trailer. I don’t want to see this a part of me screams. They can’t let our baby’s fight. I mean, I love Bucky, but he really isn’t worth it. Let’s be honest here. *hides*
I am so happy you love Seven Realms. One of my favorite series. <3 And we'll be getting a new series set in this world next year and I'm so excited I can't contain myselfffff~
Currently reading? Soul Music by Terry Pratchett from the Death collection of Discworld! Barely started though.
Sounds like an excellent Christmas plan! 😀 but zomg, Christmas is sooo close. *gulps* I really need to do a Christmasy post. hehe.
I DO love Bucky too, but I feel like I only love him because the fandom makes so much of him? He has like 5 minutes screen tim in Captain America 2 -_- And I will never pick Bucky over Iron Man (even though I think Bucky is adorably dejected).
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SEVEN REALMS SPIN OFF. AFJDALSKDFDSJAKD
SO many books, I need to check those out!! I’m glad to hear you’re reading -well, listening to- and liking Simon vs. it’s such an ADORABLE book, there are no words. It’s just adorable.
I’m so excited -and a little stressed out, too- about the All The Bright Places movie!! Sounds like it’s going to be great, I can’t believe it’s happening!! 😀
The ending had me smiling like an idiot FOR AGES AFTER I FINISHED. 5-stars absolutely!! *happy sigh*
Princess of Thorns was pretty good and I’m forever sad that they bashed the author in such a way, she will not write a sequel 🙁 The publishers didn’t pick it up and she made a Kickstarter for self-publication, but yeah, it failed.
Captain America is going to ruin me. JUST BE FRIENDS AND HUG, OKAY.
WUUUUT. They bashed the author?!?! WHAT. Omg. That’s one of my favourite books in all of the universe now. D: Maybe I’ll break my terrible-fear-of-authors habits and go tweet her how much I loved it….
YES WHY CAN’T THEY ALL BE FRIENDS.
OMG, WINTER IS SO AMAZING!!!! I swear, it does not feel like 800 pages. But now, I am grieving for these characters. Argh!
I have Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda on my Kindle. I will be starting that one soon. I can’t wait. I have heard great things.
And this year has passed by in a huge blur, I swear. That happens the older you get, right? Ugh, SLOW DOWN!! I have some posts scheduled for this month. I will be visiting my family back in the States for the holidays. Yay!
At least we have Stars Above to look forward to after Winter, right?! THANK GOODNESS. XD I’m not quite ready to let them go either!! Simon’s is 1000% golden. <3
I’m so excited to read Soundless! I love Richelle Mead! This is the first I’ve heard of negative reviews for it, but I will not be reading them, because I don’t want to expect bad things. So sad you didn’t like Dash & Lily, I love that book!
No idea what I’ll be doing with my blog over Christmas, I’ve not even thought about it :/ Guess I should get on that. I JUST FINISHED MADE YOU UP! It was amazing and so awesome, and you were completely right! I’m so glad your raving convinced me to buy the book! Thanks! And now I’m reading A Boy Called Christmas by Matt Haig, a Father Christmas origin story, and it’s pretty cute so far! 🙂
Agh, I’m sorry about Dash and Lily!! I did like Will Grayson, so maybe it was just a once-off-dislike of Leviathan?!
AHHH I’M GLAD YOU LOVED MADE YOU UP!! That book is one of my favourite of this year and afjdlkasd you bought it because of me?!?!??! *happy dances*
AHH! YOU FINALLY HAVE WINTER! Can’t wait to see what you think about it Cait! To be honest, it’s probably my favorite book in the series so I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did. (Although I know you will. xD)
And good luck with Article 5. I didn’t like that one at all unfortunately, but hopefully you’ll have a better time with it than I did.
And yeah for Raging Star too! Such a great conclusion to the series.
Great haul and recap Cait! ♥
I KNOW I WILL LOVE IT. Marissa Meyer hasn’t let me down yet! 😛 (I’m like 100-pages into the audio and so far everyone is adorable. Cress made Wolf a sandwich and excuse me, but I am squeeing.)
Ohhh, you didn’t like Article 5? *slowly moves it to bottom of TBR*
The CA: Civil War trailer got me all choked up! Gah!
sAME. I was basically in a sad puddle all afternoon after that.
CAIT YOU MUST READ WOLF BROTHER!!! Chronicles of Ancient Darkness is a favorite of mine. The books are really fun and dark and there are demons and crazy mages and WOLVES and awesome kick-butt Renn. I’ve read the series so many times, and I’m always surprised by how dark and creepy they are.
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is possibly my favorite contemporary novel ever. It’s definitely going to be on my Best of 2015 list, I’m 99% certain. 😀
I WILL!! I WILL!! I’m thinking of starting it next actually!! (I just finished Soundless which…*shudders* I’m not a fan.) But wolves and crazy mages sound exactly what I need in my life. XD SIMON’S WAS AMAAAZING. I was grinning like an idiot at the end. x)
ERMAHGERD, Cait, you read so much this week! I am very jelly, for I only read ACOTAR and I’m starting the 8th Shopaholic book AND Macbeth. My reading has been slower lately. GRRRRRR.
BUT I have to recommend ACOTAR (short for A Court of Thorns and Roses) by Sarah J Maas to you. I know you’re a ToG fan, and this book! It’s like the funny conversations between Aelin and Rowan/Chaol/Dorian, but all put into one book. And the fricking Faes, THEY ARE SOOOO HOT. *omg fans face*
I have read ACOTAR! 😀 I used to like Sarah J Maas’ books…but I gotta confess. I’m not a fan anymore. *heavy sigh* But I know I’m a minority so I won’t rain on your SJM love DO NOT FEAR. XDXD hehe. I do like her banter though. Epic sassy banter = my weakness in books. xD
I am quite excited for Civil War — it’s gonna destroy me, sure, but I can’t wait to see Bucky and Steve working as a team again, and completely evenly matched for the first time. Plus, from the comics, there is an AMAZEBALLS bit with Steve and Tony that made me cry and if that happens I will shriek the building down, no lies.
I am not taking any kind of break over Christmas, blogging wise. Too many books! Can’t stop, won’t stop!
bUCCCCCKY. He looks like a sad puppy, tbh, and gah, I love Iron Man and I’m glad he’s in a Captain America movie. It’ll make it 292029% better. *nods*
Okay first of all, the Civil War trailer makes me EXTREMELY emotional. I love Steve to death, and I love Tony to death, and imagining my babies fighting against each other… especially Tony being all “so was I” really breaks my heart. My babies! </3
Also, it's a shame you didn't like Dash and Lily's book of dares! I loved it, and thought it was really quirky and cute. But I guess because I really love contemporaries?
AHHH I need to read Princess of Thorns! Sounds amazing.
sAME. I HAD WAY TOO MANY EMOTIONS OVER IT. I was like in a sad funk for the rest of the day. D: The “so was I” really really hurt. And a lot of people are ranting online about them not being friends but HECK YES THEY WERE FRIENDS SO HMMMPH. And it feels odd that Tony is siding with the government, too??? Since…he spent 3 of his movies ignoring the government?!? Ahem.
I am a bit of a contemporary crank. xD I do have some I LOVE but gah, I’m definitely harder to please for those. >_>
Where did 2015 go? I swear it had just begun and now it is nearly 2016. What…? So much has happened this week and it seems like you had a VERY successful library trip! I love libraries and I would definitely live in one if I could (and if there were cake). Have a great upcoming week, Cait! Also, I WILL be here around Christmas, since I get a break from school and will be spending all that time eating, reading, and blogging!
And, yes, that photo is QUITE festive, Cait! ♥
I agree. I don’t think 2015 even asked permission to go that fast. *huffs quietly* How dare it. HOW DARE IT.
But yes, I shall dance with glee over these books! 😀 I’ve been looking forward to reading some of them for like FOREVER so I’m kind of not sorry I broke down and borrowed a whole heap. 😉
LOL! Kind, gentle attacking? I SO NEED to see that. Let us pass around some more cake and cupcakes while you demonstrate your ninja holiday plans XD You got some fabulous reads lined up: I have yet to sink my teeth into my copy of City of a Thousand Dolls OR Winter and I still need to read The Seven Realms and Article 5, sooo I’ll be looking out for your thoughts on those to be sure!
And OMG I HAD NOT SEEN THE TRAILER FOR A MONSTER CALLS! It was glorious, I have chills, my eyes are already brimming with tears! Gah! That movie’s going to kill me…just as the book did (wait…what?!) Oh and well I feel like I can’t really discuss any Captain America because I don’t really adore him or his movies like everyone one else. I usually love all comic book movies but I don’t know why he and I don’t get on…? I had heard that there would be fighting between the Avengers in this one, it’s super sad! They should be a team! PS- I will FOREVER love IronMan too ♥
yES. Kind and gentle attacking is definitely a thing. *nods* And you should absolutely pass me cake because then you’ll be my favourite of ever. BECAUSE CAKE. I’ve just started Winter and afdjsklad it is already AMAZING. I’m so glad I waited for the audio because it’s basically perfection. (I love the accents. <3)
AHH ISn'T IT JUST PERFECT?!?! And beautiful. Gah. I love how beautiful the filming looks (and of course Liam Neeson’s voice over is the most perfect thing of ever.)
IRON MAN FANS UNITE. *hi fiveS*
YES, LIBRARIES ARE MY ACHILLE’S HEEL! That and bookstores, of course! I understand the struggle 😛 Also, the Civil War trailer *bursts into tears* The feels!!! Why must the Avengers be split up? Anyway, concerning blogging, I will most likely try to get in several posts during my Christmas break, but I’ll be busy studying for finals and the ACT test, so I’m not really sure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, your Instagram is freaking beautiful! That bookish photography *swoons*
All those books just BEG TO BE ADOPTED, RIGHT?!?! How can we leave them alooooone? *adopts books with zero regrets* I will NEVEr be okay with the Avengers all splitting up. NEEEVER NEVER. SAVE ME, GRACE, I’M HAVING A MENTAL AVENGERS BREAKDOWN HERE.
Awww, thank you. XD I’m so glad you like my instagram!
I’ve been contemplating letting myself off the hook a bit around Christmas too. I haven’t taken a real break from the blog in … ever (well, in the three years I’ve been doing it). Surely I deserve to give myself a week. Right? (Tries hard to convince herself that she can handle it.)
Omg, not in 3 years?!?! NICOLE. YOU ARE A SAINT. But also you probably should take a break. 😉 hehe. I take a week off now and then, and tbh, I’m definitely considering taking time off after Christmas and before the new year. Then I shall just eat books uninterrupted for days. *grins*
I’m so curious to see what you think of Soundless. I’m one of the “negative” ones. Well, I actually didn’t even finish it. I marked it as DNF pretty early on. I was so borrrreedddddddd. But since you read so much faster than me (at the speed of light, basically) I’m so curious to see if you get into it quicker, rather than feel like it’s dragging like I did. SO CURIOUS!! I NEED THE FACTS!!! But it’s so beautiful and I so wanted to like it, so I’m happy when others enjoy it. I have seen a few really great reviews, so I hope you enjoy it too. <3
*whispers* I literally just finished Soundless and…NOPITY NOPE. *buries book* It was not okay at all. Gah. I really hated it how it had to “cure” the protagonist before she could have an adventure. -_- It was really anti-disability which bugged me a heck of a lot. *sigh* AND ALSO BORING. It was my first Richelle Mead book, too, so that’s not really inspiring me to read anything else from her. 0_0
OH NO!!! This makes me sad. I was really hoping you would like it. 🙁 This was my first of her books as well… but I have a lot of friends that LOVE her, so they keep insisting that I not write her off after reading this books. Her other books are better, from what I hear. Sorry this was a flop for you too. >.<
I may or may not have been avoiding the Cap 3 trailer. I just can’t even bare the thought of Cap and Iron Man fighting it out. MARVEL CANNOT DO THIS TO ME.
And seriously, how do you read so much!?! I know you have clones, but man, those clones must work hard. Oh, I know!! You’ve managed to find yourself a Time Turner. I knew it.
AVOID IT. IT’S NOT WORTH THE TEARS. (I mean, I’m just a sad anxious turtle who doesn’t want to see the darlings fighting, but stiiiiill.) YES THE CLONES WORK VERY VERY HARD. My dog reads out loud to me as I fall asleep at night. That helps. *nods*
I’ve only gotten far enough in the post to see you’re wondering what to do about posting over the Christmas week… AND YES, you should post. I mean, if you can at all. Of course I will (try to) understand if you find that you’re too busy. I for one will be checking your blog though, because let’s admit it, reading your blog is the perfect way to snatch a few minutes away from all the craziness of life around here and I generally use it as a reward to myself.
As for if I’ll be posting on my blog during the week of Christmas? The answer is Yes. How often though? It will probably be sporadic. (At least if past years are any indication.) I don’t pressure myself to post for the last couple of weeks of December, but I do enjoy doing so, especially when it comes to my yearly recap and the next year’s goals.
And, speaking of that: You should totally do a year-recap! I mean, with elements of your non-writing life thrown in if you so desire. (You have a new-sih niece, right?) Oh, and while on the subject of what you should post about: YES, YES, YES! You should do a Christmasy post. Preferably with cute sayings from your adorable niece and nephew.
And now I’ll stop being all bossy and saying what I think you should do…. You ARE the one who asked, though. 😉
Awk. *blushes* How do your comments always manage to be this entirely wonderful? I JUST NEED A MOMENT OF HAPPINESS HERE. THANK YOU. *composes self* But I will be blogging after all, because I think I’m addicted. But also…so many post ideas!! *flails* Although I might take the week off after Christmas while I get into an editing groove. Yes *gulps* I’m going to start editing. 0_0
I do so like to write goal posts!! LIIIIISTS. <3
And the yearly recap is coming!! I have a bookish tag I want to do, but I didn't even think about putting life-ish stuff in there. I SHOULD. (I have 3 new nieces this year. Yes. Pause with me a moment and cry over Christmas presents...gah. this is what happens when one has a lot of married sisters.)
YOU ARE NOT BOSSY. YOU ARE MARVELLOUS.
I’ve been wanting to read The Bone Gap and I Am Malala! I’m looking forward to them. Have you seen the Malala documentary He Named Me Malala? It’s really good – you should check it out 🙂
I haven’t seen it!! I really should look that up! And I’d like to listen to her interviews too, since they’re just about everywhere. And now I have the backstory for it all!
I really like your posts by the way!
Aw, thanks for the mention, Cait! I can’t believe it took me so long to make chocolate cake on my blog, then I made it for two desserts in a row! Go figure. 😉
yES THE SAME, ALISON. Chocolate cake is life. But then, as we all know, just cake in general is life. But I think I tried to eat my computer screen during that post so…congratulations for that. *nods*
Your image of Winter scares me because holy crap it’s huge and I might be getting the Paperback and MY HANDS WILL DIE HOLDING IT. Still, the pretty. I personally am posting my normal amount (if I can) through December, and then I’m taking a break (although really, I’m half on break now because planning and working in retail is tough this time of year) but it’s natural to get lower figures. Do what pleases you Cait!
ARE YOUR HANDS BREAKING UNDER THE WEIGHT OF WINTER YET?? x) I’m finding it a LOT less daunting to listen to the audio somehow. Even though the audio is like a million hours long. haha. Ahem. Oh I can imagine retail would be very demanding. *gulps* GOOD LUCK IN DEALING WITH HUMANS!!
I can’t control myself at the library, either. The bookstore is only slightly easier because money. I don’t have it. But I need to know if you like Oathbreaker’s Shadow. I was underwhelmed and DNF’d it, but I still wanted to know the ending. I just wasn’t thrilled about the journey to the destination.
Ohhh, that scares me about Oathbreakers. XD I’m a fantasy nut, so I tend to be REALLY hard to on my fantasies. *Gulps* I’ll definitely be reviewing it though!! And yesss…libraries are just hard because IT’S ALL FREE SO WHY nOT. XD And there’s less pressure to love the book because you haven’t spent money on it. 😛
It took me sooo looong to read this, because I am one of those peoples that gets uber busy around Christmas time. But I am almost finished with all of my shopping, so hooray for that! I also got Winter for my birthday (!!!) and I can’t wait to read it!
Happy December!
I get uber busy around Christmastime too. xD IT’S A TRAGEDY. (Eheh, oh well, it is for me anyway, because I am a hermit.) Omg, finished shopping….you are organised! I HAVE NOT STARTED.
I NEVER give my gifts on time! My family expects presents usually around mid-January. They’ll be pleasantly surprised this year!
Featured on Paper Furyyyyyyy! THIS MEANS AN INITIATION INTO SOME SORT OF A DRACONIC ORDER, RIGHT? It actually wasn’t Natalie who wrote that post about book slumps, it was me, but I DON’T EVEN CARE! WE’RE A TWO-HEADED BEAST AND WE’RE ABOUT TO BE INITIATED INTO A DRACONIC ORDER OF BOOK DEVOURERS! Rejoice, world!
These recaps are just MY FAVORITE THING EVER. Oooooh, the books on my wishlist/in my cart/on my shelf which have come straight from here…
(Also, your Instagram gives me superpowers.)
OMG NOW I FEEL REALLY BAD, LEXIE. *dies of shame* FORGIVE ME. I can’t even understand how I missed the bio thingy at the bottom of your post *continues dying a little of horror* AHEM. I’ll fix it anyway.
Awww, I’m glad you like my recaps. I LOVE WRITING RECAPS. There is something deliciously exciting about hauling together books and links and random pictures and making cake jokes. Tis a good life. Ahem.
THE QUEEN IS NEVER WRONG! Everyone else is simply deluded! (Because paraphrasing cheesy movies gives me life!) You didn’t miss anything, oh wise Dragon Queen! We actually only added the bio thingies a couple of days ago and went back through some posts to clarify authorship. When you saw it, there had been none! YOU MAY CONTINUE ENJOYING YOUR CAKE FREE OF GUILT OR SHAME! We previously only indicated the post writer in tags, but LOL, WHO READS TAGS (plus, it was SUPER unclear, because my tag was A for Alexandra), so publishers kept contacting the wrong person for review requests, and it basically had to be solved. You, however, were RIGHT AS ALWAYS! ‘Tis the law of the land!
OMG SO I DIDN’T OVERLOOK THAT?!?! *collapses in relief* Well now it’ll be easier next time I link to one of your posts…and let’s face it. YOUR BLOG IS AMAZING so I’ll probably be linking muchly in the future. 😛
I’m really excited for the Civil Wars movie. XD It looks like a total feels fest, but it also looks really good! I love both Cap and Iron Man, but I’m interested about the politics surrounding the film as well. Freedom versus Security which is a big issue in the comics that movie is based from.

I haven’t seen Ultron yet so I suppoooooose that’ll tell me why Iron Man is suddenly all “I love the government” when he’s spent 3 movies being anti?!?! XD GAH I’M CONFUSED OF tHE POLITICS. I do love tragic Bucky though. 😉
It makes way more sense if you’ve seen Age of Ultron. XD
I am listening to Winter right now and it is SO EXCITING AND I AM IN HIGH RECOMMENDATION OF IT. BECAUSE IT IS JUST THAT GREAT.
But the other books sound good, too. *nods*
Also, I am crying over the new Civil War trailer and that is all.
I’M LIKE 60% THROUGH IT RIGHT NOW AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. The audio is also so so fantastic. :’)
YES. I am very nervous for Civil War. I am nervous and scared. I am worried for the characters. Plus… I don’t know. I am just not looking forward to it for some reason.
YES!!! I am glad to find someone else who did not enjoy Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares. That book just did not work for me at all!!!!
I am supremely pleased with the fact the All the Bright Places script is complete. Now they just need to hurry the hell up and cast Finch. I NEED TO KNOW WHO THEY PICK. This movie needs to hurry up and get made already, but be done right and completely do the book justice. NO PRESSURE!
I still need to read A Monster Calls. I’ve owned it for so long now so I obviously have 0 excuse. I will get to it… EVENTUALLY.
