my february was particularly busy and exciting…do you know why?!
ARCs are heeeeeeere!!!!!!! I swear this feeling is never going to get old. That moment when years of writing and smoothing knotty words into polished patterns ends in you getting to hold your very own novel. I maybe hugged my ARC of The Boy Who Steals Houses. But this book has my heart, ok? It’s super special to me. And I have all these author-nervous-jitters about if people will like it as much as A Thousand Perfect Notes…
But look !!!! it’s a real book !!!!
(More info on how to request a review copy below!)
I also finally have a new blog design! I feels very satisfyingly fresh and neat and has me all hyped for blogging again. I hoped it’d fix the email issue (my blog doesn’t send out emails to subscribers??) but like IDK HAS IT?! Some people say they get emails. Some say they don’t.
My entire mood is 😑 at WordPress.
Anyway let me know in the poll if you get emails, so I can gauge? Only vote if you have signed up as an email subscriber in the past!

And look, I’m mad that it’s messing up and it’s a bother to keep up with my blog. But you can also catch me on ➸ Bloglovin’ and there’s a WordPress follow widget in my sidebar too. Also try unsubscribing and resubscribing? That might restart it. (fingers crossed lol sob) I’m so sorry for the inconvenient!
➸ Ok so obviously all we need to talk about is my new SON.
If you want to request, you can put in on Netgalley UK and Netgalley US. (I don’t have control over approvals though!) For physical ARCs: if you’re in the UK, contact Team BKMRK and if you’re an Aussie, talk to Date A Book!
It was also intensely exciting to see so many of my blogging friends’ names in the praise list!
I didn’t know they’d be in there so eeep! But all the love to Jo, Evelina, Ilsa, and Shannon!
I also have some word art happening because I am Extra™.
➸ Otherwise it’s out in ONE MONTH.
afjdskaldfa am not ready but also am so ready.
You know how I mentioned a deleted Potato scene? Well you asked…and you’re going to get it!! And I’m also conspiring with talented artists to bring us a special recipe and fanart! This is bringing me so much joy, ok? So so much.
And don’t forget you can preorder *:·゚✧*:·゚✧ Book Depository | Amazon
➸ Also some other lovely things have been happening…
So many bloggers have asked to interview me (THANK YOU!!) and it makes me shimmy each time. (Seriously, feel free to email me if you want to do an interview! I’m at cait@paperfury.com). TBWSH was ranked in the 300s on Book Depository for a day. Which is insane with the millions of books there. It also was on a bestselling Book Depository preorder list and I just…!! Thank you so much for all your hype!
I’m a little author and The Boy Who Steals Houses is a pretty small release (it’s not even at 3K adds on goodreads so ya) in April which is hitting us with some massive US YA titles. So all your support has made my heart so full. 💛
➸ But just in case A Thousand Perfect Notes felt left out…
I got to see the Polish cover for it last week! This is…so much. Like when I dreamed of having a book published, I didn’t even stretch my imagination far enough to think about translation deals?! And it’s coming out in Polish, Romanian, Czech and Slovak! I’m just !!! so grateful! (And also a little bit of a human hurricane of feelings…this is real!? This is real.)
➸ I barely scrapped through to my goal of 18 reads.
It is unfair, I say, sir, that February has only 28 days. I was scrabbling to finish my last read like on the last day of the month. Hahaha…gulp. But I got caught up doing some edits + having a general life meltdown. As one does.
((all covers link to goodreads))
BOOKS BOUGHT…
From library
FROM PUBLISHERS…
FROM NETGALLEY / EDELWEISS…
I have been seriously blessed by the Netgalley deities holy heck. Usually they hate me? So wow and YAY here! I’m super excited for The Lost Coast because Amy Rose Capetta is a new favourite author!!!
((hover over covers to flip them for a mini review !! and click to see full-length review!))
➸ I’m panicking a bit about how behind I am on…everything. But I’m determined to be really industrious in March. I am going to rule this TBR pile and take a huge bite out of it. I’m also defrosting my nerves about TBWSH’s release by writing a fun just-for-me story (it possibly has heists, monsters, Persephone’s child, and a hate-to-friendship plot).
➸ I’m rereading the WHOLE Grisha series! I was pretending I could read King of Scars without doing this but lmao…you wish, Cait. You wish. Even rereading Shadow & Bone was basically like experiencing a whole new book. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s been five years though, ok.
➸ I also adored my splurge of rereading The Foxhole Court trilogy on audiobook…because I am trash for those disaster kids afjdsaklda. I miss it already. Do I have time for all these rereads? Why no. Will I stop??? Also no.
➸ Being a very dedicated author is going well too, thanks for asking. I possibly had one morning where I edited a line and decided to congratulate myself with an hour off to make some chocolate chip biscuits and eat them. Am working hard.
➸ I started watching The Umbrella Academy! Has anyone else seen it?! I’ve only seen two episodes but I love it. Klaus and Five omg. What dysfunctional creatures. I also love how it’s all AMERICAN…and then Klaus struts in with a skirt and an Irish accent. You go, my son, you go. (Total Nathan from Misfits memories haha.) The diversity however…Seven people with powers and only two are POC (one starts off dead). Ok, fren.
➸ did u know…the Pacific Ocean has a 3.5 star rating? Don’t ask me why I was googling this but I was. The Atlantic Ocean is slightly higher at a 3.8 star rating. And look I get it. Lots of castaways in the Pacific. They are probably holding grudges. But shout out to the fact we can star rate the oceans.
HUZZAH for the book! I’m glad the release is looking like it’s going well!
Out of curiosity: has ATPN been translated into German yet?
Your new blog design is pretty; I don’t know if I’ve said that yet. What sparked the change?
Also, humans will star rate anything. I’m pretty sure it’s encoded into our natures at this point.
Aw thank you!! And no German translations haah…I may have offended them.😂 I’m so glad you like the new blog design! The change was purely a hope of fixing my emails since something seems to be broken/malfunctioning in my blog. It did not work.😂😫
Your new son is very pretty, and I like your blog design. Also, you got When the Sky Fell on Splendor! I really want to read that book. It’s one of my most-anticipated books this year. I didn’t know we could rate oceans. I’ve seen both of them but don’t know which is better!
I just finished When The Sky Fell on Splendor and it was REALLY good!! I hope you get to read it soon!
February was kind of a disappointing month for me, I read only four books and a novella for school. And the book I thought would be the best (King of Scars) ended up with an average-ish rating from me, I thought it was going to be a five star read but it ended up being like 3.5. The book that ended up being best of the month was Radio Silence which I gave four stars.
However I have BIG plans for March. I want to reread at least three books; ATPN so I can catch the references in TBWSH, Geekerella in reparation for The Princess and the Fangirl, and at least the first Heroes of Olympus book, my TBR’s gonna love me rereading that series. I also want to finish The Raven Cycle (I have two books left)
I didn’t realize that there was camp NaNoWriMo coming up but I might sort of participate? I want to edit my NaNo novel from last year but idk where to get the time. I might procrastinate by starting a new book.
(Also with the email sometimes I get it sometimes I don’t, like I didn’t get the email for this post but I did for the last one)
I’ve heard a lot of people were disappointed with King of Scars and I’m SO nervous eep. Radio Silence is amazing though…such a relatable gift to this world. I hope you get tons done in March though! (Seriously freaking honoured you want to reread ATPN 😍) And The Princess and the Fangirl is a lot of fun!!
I also didn’t realise Camp was coming up so fast eep. I won’t do anything, I don’t think? I’ll be distracted with TBWSH 😂
Also let’s just assume my blog is possessed here because nothing makes senseeee
I read 3 books in February, but no major standouts. My favourite was Hamilton and Peggy! A Revolutionary Friendship but even that was really only so/so, I mostly liked it because Peggy was awesome and I’m a history nerd, so reading about history that I don’t necessarily know that well makes me happy. The other two books I read were kind of disappointing, I didn’t love A Curse So Dark and Lonely as much as I thought I would, and Alex and Eliza was just….ugh,,,,my history student brain was whirling with all the inaccuracies. I am not writing anything for Camp NaNoWriMo in April, I have two pretty significant deadlines in April for Uni,so I don’t have time to prep anything else-I’m waiting for revisions back from my critique partner for my WIP but I doubt I’m going to get those back until at least May (she’s working on her own stuff atm), so I’m throwing myself into finishing my Uni stuff. I haven’t been watching much new stuff lately, again because of Uni deadlines, I’m rewatching Once Upon A Time at the moment. In terms of new stuff, I’ve been watching Death In Paradise (love!) and I watched the latest series of One Day At A Time at the beginning of February, oh and the latest series of Call The Midwife, but not much else new I’m afraid.
I’m glad you liked Hamilton and Peggy! I used to love US history themed books but I don’t read so many anymore. 😂 And ooh I hope you get good critiques back for your current WIP! I don’t think I’ll squeeze in Camp either tbh. Although I have plenty to work on, just not enough time.😂 My friend is literally just texting me to tell me to watch One Day At A Time too haha.
I haven’t started The Umbrella Academy yet, but my brother tells me it’s right up my street.
I only read five books in Feburary, and only one was an actual novel. In my defence, February is a short month. I’m way behind on EVERYTHING, including watching shows. I mean, I’m something ridiculous like five episodes behind on Riverdale. I’m NEVER behind on Riverdale!
Have a great March!
Yesss you should! It’s fun…just a little slow. 😂 Although I’m also impatient so that could be it too haha. And hey yes February IS too short and it’s not fair…it robs us of time. Ah. (I’m like so so behind on Riverdale hahah oops.)
Ooh, love the translated cover! And yes, I’m with one of the commenters .. I want this book in German! And so excited for you with this new book! So many fun stats.
I watched the first season of Umbrella Academy. I loved how unique everything was. I wasn’t so thrilled about how all the gore was glamorized and desensitized, and the ending was super weird (but I think I liked it weird?). I think I liked the show … but it was super weird sometimes. But the show was full of amazing plot twists.
keturahskorner.blogspot.com
It would definitely be fun to see it in German haha, we can hope?! But I love the Umbrella Academy! Only on ep3 though…I’m very slow. I didn’t find it glamorised although some of the fight scenes did make it quirky I guess, with the music? But I think that’s their way of coping tbh with the childhood they had.
Awh I really like this post. It’s nice to see where the month got you. B X
http://www.babblesnbooks.wordpress.com
Aw thanks for reading!💛
I think hugging your book when you get it is a necessity!! Book hugs all round!! I can’t believe it is out so soon— how exciting?!?!?!
February had gone alarmingly fast— I said I was going to get my life together this year and time isn’t cooperating 😂
Yes I am on episode two of the umbrella academy too and it definitely made me want to watch misfits because of Robert Sheenan haha !!
I started the foxhole court series– I am just at the beginning of book 2 and all I want to do is read it!! So good 😍!!
Have a great March!! 😊
SO MANY BOOK HUGS!! And I can’t believe how fast it’s come either… I felt like I was waiting 17 life times for ATPN and then like TBWSH is glaring at me for not being more organised. 😂 And omg isn’t it hard to not think of Robert Sheenan as Nathan from Misfits though?! And he’s playing such a similar character lmao.
I’m so glad you’ve found the addictive mess that is the Foxhole Court too😂
I’ve been reading your blog forever and I don’t usually comment, but I wanted to say a) hi and b) I’m so happy and proud of all the amazing writerly things you’ve accomplished so far! 🙂 I actually just finished watching the Umbrella Academy and it was soooo good! I think you’ll really like it. The whole family dynamic is so interesting and I basically screamed at the TV a lot …. oops. I hope you catch up on everything in March and have a fantastic month!!! <3
omg thank you so much for commenting, Madeline!! It’s really lovely to meet you and this is SO kind of you to say!! Also glad we can mutually flail at the Umbrella Academy. I love family storylines?! And this lot is so dysfunctional but also amazing. 😂💛
Agh it looks like you had such a great month! Unfortunately I’ve been reading at a turtle’s pace. I started 1984 but there are so many flashbacks and crucial info and my poor brain is struggling to keep up. XD
quick question… is there a way you tell or get your readers to comment on your posts? I invite people to comment on my posts but it’s usually a hit or miss.
Classics are harder to absorb I find? And epic fantasy too haha. I get through shorter/contemporary books a lot faster!
I actually am not sure about comments anymore. 😂 I used to get hundreds, but that’s died down a lot. one thing I do is the commenting-back. So if someone comments on my blog, I return it on theirs and it’s like a support-network thing. Although as I type this I know I’m not commenting back as much this week, just because I’m behind. But I will again soon!!
Yes contemporary books are so easy to read! And it’s just so much fun to get through theme lol.
Ooh commenting back is a nice idea. I like what bc it’s a way to support other bloggers without people trying to beg for comments (my #1 pet peeve). Thanks Cait! 🙂
OMG, I love how I can hover over a book cover and see your short review of it! HOW?!?! What is this witchcraft?! Lovely post.
It’s just a widget haha, nothing too fancy. But I’m so glad you like it!
I was thinking that your blog did look different on my phone. And now I see that it has a whole redesign on the desktop browser.
Also, I can’t wait to read your book when it releases later this year. I think I might have to purchase both of your books in hardback (when I have a space of my own and I’m not constantly moving from country to country) and not just as ebooks, because they’re so pretty. ATPN is, I think, one of the prettiest covers from 2018.
Yessss! All the freshness here. 💛😂It’s nice and inspiring to have a new design. And thanks so much for supporting my books!! They’re only available as paperbacks though, but eep, I’m so excited to soon have them both together. And SO honoured you love the covers!
Wait so do people just post a Yelp review for the… whole ocean? Is that a Yelp review thing, or is it elsewhere? Anyway. I’m always wowed by how many books you get through, even if you didn’t finish everything you wanted this month (it is shorter… and yet February feels long, possibly because here it’s basically just grey most of the month with limited sunlight?)
Congrats again on your sophmore novel!
It was like a google maps review??? I don’t know, is this normal? Can we just like…rate a continent or something? i want to rate Antartica…It seems like a nice place. Good for hermits.
February is usually super hot in Australia, so for that reason it did drag a bit too for us. But yeah aGH I never get everything done.
So basically February is just That Month everywhere in the world? Good to know… Do you think there’s a place you can leave reviews on months? “February: either it’s cold and grey or too hot or it’s raining and I do would not revisit February. 3/10”
It’s literally so exciting that your second book is already almost out in the world??? i feel like i just read your first book and now there are going to be two novels from you on my shelf soon-ish. so. cool. so, so cool. deleted potato scene ?? fanart and recipe?? you are blessing us, cait. i love the cover for the boy who steals houses so much. i will forever stan that color scheme. i need to read the brilliant death it seems?? seems kinda very awesome indeed. i totally feel you on the behind in everything thing. i am STRUGGLING and its awful and depressing and sitting incredibly heavy on my shoulders. sigh. also, that phrase “defrosting my nerves” is amazing and i might use it sometime lol. it just paints such a pictured in my mind and i adore it!! “Klaus and Five omg. What dysfunctional creatures.” i am going be lowkey here and not scream about my love for them because i already did that on my own recap this month but let’s just say: there are a catastrophe and thats why i love them dearly. complex and complicated and entirely relatable and funny. on the last note *lol reference to your first book intended* of this comment: i dont know why i’m surprised but i wouldve thought that the pacific ocean would have a higher rating than the atlantic?? but it’s only slightly so I guess it’s relatively even lols. Hope you have a great next month!
I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S SO SOOOON. Also that they’re so close together. 💛 But you can all take a break after TBWSH because even I don’t know what’s happening after this haha. But I’m so happy you love the cover and are excited…it’s absolutely the most encouraging thing for me.
Also YES read The Brilliant Death. It is my new love.
KLAUS AND FIVE THOUGH. I need to watch the show faster and find out what happens to my new sons.
(Tbh I feel like the Pacific Ocean is getting more hate because it has so many tragedies in it. But c’mon, also HAWAII??!!? Google maps needs to fix itself.)
I’m loving the new design, Cait! And I hope your newsletters works now!! Fingers crossed! <3 I'm so excited for you with the Boy Who Steals Houses! I'm still waiting and hoping for an approval through Netgalley US. I only read 6 books in February, but one of which was the Wicked King and I ADORED it. I need the Queen of Nothing asap! Also, I'm currently reading A Thousand Perfect Notes and it's so BEAUTIFUL! You're destroying my heart slightly very much.
Wishing you the happiest of Marches, love! <3
Ahhh I hope NG grants the wish! 💛 I actually don’t know why it’s only on wish?! It’s not really famous enough for that lmao. But eep, don’t we all need Queen of Nothing!!? It’s going to destroy me and I so want it.
I read basically nothing in February but I am hoping to fix that in March! I love the new blog design and will be resubscribing by email. I can’t wait for your newest release and reading your amazing words. Here’s to hoping March is great for you!
Aw, thanks so so much, Jamie!! This is so kind of you. 😭💛
AHHHHHH!! I’m so glad you loved The Caged Queen!! I’m super looking forward to Safire’s story in The Sky Weaver. Also, yes to The Umbrella Academy (I am totally here for Klaus – he reminds me of Mason from Dead Like Me). And I want to reread The Foxhole Court (even though I only read it for the first time in Feb). OMG I love Andrew and Neil. Possibly more than I love Ronan and Adam. I didn’t think it was possible though??? *dies*
omg this series is one of my new favourites. 😍 I cannot WAIT for the finale and Safire!!! And The Umbrella Academy is such a gift. I’m up to Ep. 3 now and I love it. Klaus is the best!!
I feel like most of the book blogging community had a meltdown this February and I… was part of that too. I read like three books, didn’t blog a single thing, still haven’t written all the reviews I should write and have just generally not cared much about book-related things cause LIFE, YOU KNOW. Help.
BUT, I decided instead of freaking out and stressing myself I’m gonna use my week off to reread The Raven Boys and just not care about any of things I’m behind on cause I need to chill a bit. Sigh.
It’s just ridiculously hard to do everything in February when it ROBS US OF DAYS. *stamps foot* Life needs to slow on down. Eep. bUt hey rereading helps, I find, when things get stressful!! And TRC is always perfect to reread.
Yay Cait! I’m so excited for your new son to be released out into the wild. Also I’m so JEALOUS that you wrangled in time to read some books I haven’t been able to yet – like The Brilliant Death?! GAH. I could die with how much I want to read that . . . I have also not seen copies of it in bookstore. Guess I’ll have to go order it online.
You do such a fabulous job of balancing everything! You go, girl! I’ve been miserably busy lately and so sad at how little time I’ve had to read and blog – it’s like somebody chopping off a limb and now I’m hobbling along. I desperately need a productive March to whittle down that TBR. It’s so far gone XD
Keep up the awesome work!!
omg the Brilliant Death is JUST SO GOOD!! And also so…expensive?😂 I haven’t found it most places and it was really expensive on Book depository, so I ended up with the audiobook and LOVED the narration so that was good!
And thank you, Kirstie. 😭💛 I truly don’t feel like I do a good job balancing all the things, eep. But I try! I hope you get some more time to read this March, too!
I’m so HAPPY about all this book news you have – it’s so exciting and your books deserve all the success! I’m so happy that I’ve got TBWSH from NetGalley! I would read it right away but I have two other books I must read before it! I never heard back from my physical ARC request which I don’t mind (please don’t take this as me being salty! i support your author career SO much), I just feel much more motivated to read physical things rather than on my kindle. BUT I DIGRESS, I HAVE YOUR BOOK IN MY HANDS AND I CAN’T WAIT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH IT! also, potatoes.
Aww thank you1!! and I’m so so honoured you want to read TBWSH…I can’t even say how encouraging it is to know people are keen for it. (I honestly don’t know what’s happening with the physical ARCs, because I’ve seen like 2 people with them, whereas with ATPN they were out and everywhere?)
We’re watching Umbrella Academy right now too!
I didn’t realize you’d gotten approved for so many e-ARCs. It’s about time!
It IS about time. 😂 Oh we should buddy read The Lost Coast too, you might like it? It’s queer witches!
YAY THE ARCS AHH, they’re so pretty and it means your book releases soon, this is so, so, so exciting, I can’t wait to read it and see it everywhere on blogs, too. <3 <3
I'm so happy you read and enjoyed Darius, I can't wait to read that one, it has been on my TBR forever and it sounds amazing! I also have The Light Between Worlds on my TBR and wow, I didn't know that it was a little problematic, damn :/ thank you for mentioning that.
I hope you'll have an amazing month!! <3 <3
Aww MARIE. You’re always so kind to me. 😭💛💛 I can’t thank you enough!!
And Darius is just an amazing adorkable book…eep. I hope you like it! I feel really awkward about The Light Between Worlds and just hope I really misinterpreted it, but yeah that’s what I felt the book was saying, and the messages were very muddy. I think when dealing with suicide in books, it has to be treated with a lot more firm thoughts and care. 😭
I’m so excited for The Boy Who Steals Houses!! I haven’t placed my pre-order yet but I definitely will soon 😀 I haven’t read very much all year because I keep getting distracted by other things. I’ve been reading Six of Crows since the beginning of February and I still haven’t finished it yet 🙃 But the speed I read at isn’t important, it’s whether I enjoy the book that is 🙂
Aw yes absolutely! I think enjoying a book > comes over anything else. I’m rereading Six of Crows now too and ajfdkslad it’s so good to be back in this world. Kaz is such a piece of work but I still love him omg.
18 books is incredible!!! I only read 5 in Feb haha! And AHHH you have a second book coming out – SO EXCITING!!
OOH is Camp NaNo in April?! EXCITING. I’ve started plotting my novel this month. I can’t wait to start writing it!
Ahh I hope you have fun writing then!! I was going to do Camp but also…I think I’ll be busy in April panicking over TBWSH’s release haha.
AHHHH like I know I’ve already said this but congrats on TBWSH!! Seeing you excited makes ME feel so excited about you being excited and then !! it’s just a big, exponentially growing pile of excitement.
I’m sorry WordPress has been being so dumb :/ I love the new design, though! It somehow feels friendlier.
I totally should have reread the Grisha trilogy before reading King of Scars. Actually, scratch that, I just needed to reread Shadow & Bone. Because I read it years ago . . . and then didn’t finish the trilogy until a few months ago. So every time someone in King of Scars mentioned something that happened in S&B, I was like “sure lol, if you say so.” Nikolai literally could have said “Actually, I WAS in the first book, Inej made a cameo, and Alina was previously married to Kaz” and I would have been like “aight sounds legit.”
Eleanor | On the Other Side of Reality
Aww thank you!! It actually means such a lot to know my blogging friends are excited. I’m like…so so super extra grateful. 😫💛💛💛
I’m glad you like the new design!! It’s definitely shaken things up and made me excited to blog again haha. I should remember that for next time I slump.
And yeah I’m really glad I’ve decided to reread because holy wow I remembered NOTHING when I was rereading Shadow & Bone. I barely even remembered the Fold and that was, um, a major part of the book. 😂
Your new son looks gorgeous, Cait! Really, he’s shining, he’s thriving: you must be proud! 🌟 And it’s so nice that A Thousand Perfect Notes has been translated!
I had no idea The Foxhole Court was available on audio too! I’ll for sure be listening to it now that I have a Scribd subscription (I shall repeat this to absolutely everyone, because I feel so fancy? Sorry lol). I thought about reading it in my phone, but audio is so much more convenient. I’m excited!
I’ll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Lost Coast. I don’t keep up with new releases, but this one really caught my eye. So maybe one year from now, I’ll read it? Hahah.
Hope you have an amazing March, Cait!
I’M SO PROUD. My sons off to destroy …erm, I mean BE GREAT in the world. They’re so shiny and neat 😭💛💛
Ooh Scribd sounds really cool! I’m on audible but only when there’s a sale haha. But yes audio is amazing right?! I love rereading books that way because the different format gives me different perspective. And I hope I love the Lost Coast too because I’m really a fan of that author!
I read maybe 11 or 12 books in February? I was quite distracted by discovering podcasts which are AMAZINg and LIFEChANGING. the best book I read was probably Turtles All the Way Down or maybe Americanah. I don’t know why I didn’t read Turtles all the way down earlier tbh. I did a teensy bit of editing but I have been quite useless on the writing front this month, although I guess I did move house and country and go on some nice runs
I feel like moving COUNTRIES and houses definitely allows you to be distracted from reading. 😂💛 And that’s awesome you’ve discovered some good podcasts!!! I should try some someday because I love audiobooks!
I’ve been a reader of your blog for at least two years but I have not yet declared my absolute love for your formatting of book covers??! They are SO COOL and they work on mobile too! Do they work for email subscribers?
Also, I’m really surprised and sad that the Light Betweenness worlds had that message about depressed people? That’s kind of… bad.
I’m going to be reading the Foxhole court series this month and I’m expecting to be wrecked!!!
Aww thanks, Julianna!! I’m so glad the formatting works! (I’m kind of hoping I misinterpreted the Light Between World’s subtext. Or else that it was unintentional. But yeah, it made me feel quite ill tbh.) The Foxhole Court, however, is AMAZING. Super dark and touches on a lot of heavy topics too, but it does it well. 💛
I have read two books this month. I pre-order you book can’t wait for it to cone out! A highlight of February was going to Florida. 🙂
Aw thank you for preordering! That means the WORLD to me!!
How do we rate the oceans??? I am so confused right now 😂 Also, I can’t wait for The Boy Who Steals Houses! I just wished for it on NetGalley and *wishes intensely*
I know right?! Like what must an ocean do to get 5-stars…hmm. And eep, I hope you get approved!! I’m so honoured you’re excited for it. 😍
So, apparently your blog can smell fear, or just has a cruel sense of humor or something, cuz last time I commented I said I was still getting your posts emailed to me still, but…then after that I realized it just stopped. XD Like of course it had to wait until I said something for it to act up again. 😛 So yeah, I just realized I’m not getting them anymore. :/ I’m so sorry it’s causing you so much stress. 🙁 🙁 🙁 I wish I could give you cake to make you feel better. <3 <3
And now I'm a little concerned cuz I'm moving my blog to WordPress this week?! O.O And I'm pretty sure I'm already following you there now and on Bloglovin', but I'll try unsubscribing and redoing it too! 🙂
ANYWAY, XD Deleted potato scene? A RECIPE?! FANART????!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 OMG is this all going into the final copies?! I'm so excited!
And I'm SO excited to post your interview on my new blog this month! Thank you for answering my questions so fast! <3
OMG THE POLISH COVER IS SO COOL!!!!! Yeah I would've never thought about translations either. XD Congratulations!!!!!
We can…star rate oceans???????????????????????? O.o Uhhhhh Whhhhyyyyyyy???????????? XD And was there any with 5 stars?? What makes an ocean star worthy??? I have so many questions. XD XD XD XD
I read 3 books this month but 2/3 were 5 stars! And I read them back to back! I think I'm finally officially out of my slump now! 😀 I read Love and Gelato which I LOVED. Dang it took me by surprise. I really didn't expect it to be that good.
And then the other 5 star was The Day The World Came to Town by Jim DeFede. Ugh I could sing about this one forever! It's about how on 9/11 38 planes were stranded on Newfoundland cuz the US airspace was shut down and the locals just took in all of the 7,000 passengers and showed them such love and compassion and provided everything that they needed and took care of them without expecting anything in return. It's literally like the only nonfiction I've read that I actually REALLY REALLY LOVED! It doesn't read like a textbook or anything at all. It also helped my excitement that I found out about the musical Come From Away which covers the same topic, so I listened to the whole soundtrack before I read it and I am in love! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 It's just such a touching story and the songs from the musical are SO great and it just makes my heart so happy!!!! I'm thinking about writing a historical fiction about it now. Wait would a 9/11 book be historical fiction? How far back to books have to be set to be considered historical fiction??? Huh. I've never really thought about that. 😛
I am STRUGGLING with my fantasy outline for Camp Nano. And I still have some worldbuilding to figure out before I'll be ready to start drafting, so March is going to be BUSY! O.O
Ooooh, a good show I've been watching is Manifest! Have you heard of it? It's SO good but so crazy! 😀
Sorry for the extremely long comment, but lately when I start talking about The Day the World Came to Town it's hard to stop. XD I'm even making my mom read it. XD XD
I was sending out the emails manually…buuuut I stopped in hopes that wordpress would start now that the blog design is new but yeah. I’m doomed. Gonna throw my blog and myself into the sea. :’) And tbh I don’t think most people (or ANY?!) have had this problem. So you’ll be fine! Mine was fine for years until…now.😫
I have so so many questions about star rating the oceans too, tbh. Like…what must an ocean do to get 5-stars??? The QUESTIONS. 😂
And thank you about the Polish cover! I am excited!
I’m so glad you had some really good reads and eeep fingers crossed your outline behaves itself before NaNo!!! I probably won’t join in because April will be pretty frantic for me.😂
Oh my gosh squeaking by with 18 reads for the month – that would be a DREAM month for me! I managed to read only 5 in February, but I’m not even sad about it. I made thee most conservative goodreads goal ever this year so I WILL succeed! Muhuhaha!
I am SO excited for TBWSH! Except I am so smol and new to blogging I don’t see any way that I would be considered for an ARC. BUT THATS OK BECAUSE ILL DEFINITELY BUY IT WHEN IT COMES OUT 🙂 🙂 🙂
Also what the heck was happening in February?! I blinked and it was gone. literally.
Congratulations on your new book, Cait! I recently got the physical ARC and *incoherent hand waving* I love your new blog design, by the way! I would love to re-design mine as well, any advice?
How do you do the flipped reviews for your read books? 😮 I loved reading The Last Namsara, so I’m looking forward to The Caged Queen as well!
I didn’t know we could rate oceans?! Here’s the perfect excuse to abandon responsibilities and become an explorer who rates every eco-system she comes across. I might even have to learn a few species languages, just so I can get their input for the rating :p
I’m not sure about Camp Nano just yet…buuuut I have a new book idea in mind…so maybe, maybe…
I’m currently watching The Good Wife (a show about lawyers), and Stars Vs. The Forces of Evil…yes, I watch cartoons hahaha
I miss watching Misfits so much! My eyes lit up when I came across the passage in which you mentioned Nathan 🙂
I’m at the point where I’m ready to sell my soul for The Bride Test. I’M SO EXCITED FOR IT! I started reading Jack of Hearts, but had to DNF it because the stalker aspect was making me way too uncomfortable. And I just got Five Feet Apart from the library, so hopefully I should be reading that one soon!
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE BOY WHO STEALS HOUSES! The premise just speaks to me! And I’m so excited for another recipe after the cake recipe for ATPN!
Also, Chana is forcing me to watch The Umbrella Academy because she loves it so much and I am not complaining! I refuse to watch it on my own because of the violence, but Klaus and Five give me life! Although really all the sibling interactions are perfection!
And I now really want to look into all the bodies of water to see how the people feel about them. Like, I knew people had strong opinions about things, but this is a whole new corner of the internet to explore!
*whispers you should include a like button for your posts cause I want to like…erm all of them?*
Also I literally blog hopped over here because today has been the day where I’ve been replying to 13 posts worth of comments (thankfully I don’t get loads of comments on each post otherwise it’d take me like a century to get round to it) and I remembered I’d not yet read your wrap up. YOUR BLOG REDESIGN BLESSED MY EYES CAIT THEY ARE BLESSED (except for this commenting section because my netbook is small and it’s really hard to see the comment I’m typing but hey, for you I’ll suffer)
*waddles to snoop about maybe requesting your arc because wow I’m ready for my heart to be destroyed all over again*
Hey taking a 1 hour break to bake cookies is so working hard, one less line to edit = cookie baking time haha. I’m honestly in love with your blogs new design and the graphics and wow my graphic design heart is singing. I’m a ghost on bookstagram atm due to the app still not working properly so if you suddenly get a splurge of likes from me…I pounced on the chance whilst it was working to shower your pretty photos with love.
I watched Zootopia in Feb the disney film which came out in 2016 haha, and let me tell you I fell in love with Judy and Nick. I’ve not shipped two characters so hard as I did watching that film, even if they were a bunny and fox…I’ll die on this hill.
I was just thinking about how long it’s been since I’ve seen any emails from you and came to check out your blog. Wow! New design, and posts! (that I somehow haven’t been getting 😛 ) Nice to see that you’re still around! 😃
